00:00We do have a developing story, Stephen Curry.
00:02If you were out there in Paris in 2024, the Golden Dagger.
00:06Oh, sookie, sookie now.
00:08Stephen Curry put on a show in the gold medal game.
00:10And the report is, according to Mark Spears, by the way,
00:13Stephen mentioned this on the Dovesque Podcast.
00:14Early November, I asked him, hey, what about the Olympics in L.A., 2028?
00:18He said, never say never.
00:21I'm cool with it.
00:23Be kind of cool.
00:24Kevin Durant also mentioned that he wants to play in 2028.
00:27Two gold medals?
00:28Let's add that to the resume, because France is coming.
00:31The world is getting better.
00:33It'd be nice to have Stephen Curry back on that roster.
00:35Bonte, I was there in 2024 at the Olympics, and Steph Curry was the show.
00:39All right?
00:40In this league with all the incredible players.
00:42Everybody wants to watch the USA.
00:44LeBron James, Kevin Durant, all the great players.
00:47And Steph Curry, at the end of the game and at the end of the whole thing,
00:51for them to win, he has this incredible flurry.
00:53And all I hear when I see that is Steph could still be playing.
00:58Here for the Warriors.
00:59So, for me, as a fan, I'm excited about that.
01:02I want to hear that.
01:03Mully.
01:03If Steph doesn't have that amazing last two games, they don't medal.
01:08Period.
01:09I mean, he was struggling a little bit moving up to those elimination games
01:13that he put on his show.
01:14Hit some incredible shots.
01:17International play is a bit different than the NBA.
01:20There's no illegal defense.
01:21There's a lot of zone.
01:22So, if there's two players you want on your roster, shot makers.
01:27Not shot takers.
01:28Shot makers.
01:29That's Kevin Durant and Steph Curry.
01:32All right.
01:32Well, unfortunately, Steph Curry would not be in the lineup tonight against the Pelicans.
01:36As we go down to New Orleans for a little crossover with the Gentleman Company Action here
01:40at NBC Sports Bay Area.
01:41Bob Fitzgerald, Clint Azubuki.
01:43Good evening, fellas.
01:44And the Warriors got off to such a terrific start against Denver.
01:46And I love that.
01:47They were playing downhill instead of uphill.
01:4939 points in that first quarter.
01:51Fitz.
01:51Tonight, they have to set that tone again in the first quarter.
01:54Do not let the Pelicans get comfortable with Jadonche Murray back in the lineup.
01:59Well, I think you hit on it, Bontae, as far as setting the tone.
02:02But Kalen and I will be looking for one thing.
02:05Right now, against New Orleans, opponents shoot 58% against them in the lane.
02:10That's the third worst in the NBA.
02:12Don't settle for early clock threes when two passes would get you something easy.
02:17That's absolutely one of my keys.
02:19Don't settle.
02:19Take it to the basket.
02:20But, Mully, on the other side, it's kind of weird with this team, right,
02:23because they're number one in paint points.
02:25Usually, they're a bad three-point shooting team.
02:27But in February, they're the number one three-point shooting team in the league.
02:30So having that balance, okay, on-ball defense is so important.
02:33You've got to make sure you don't give up blow-bys.
02:35Be ready to help.
02:36But, Mully, the helping is going to be tougher knowing they're shooting this well.
02:40How do you deal?
02:42Yeah, I still think I'd rather have them on the perimeter as opposed to in the paint.
02:46That's where they, you know, statistically are much, much better.
02:49Trey Murphy's not playing.
02:51So, me, he's their best shooter.
02:52You want to get out on Sadiq Bey.
02:54Other than that, I'd rather have them out there on the perimeter shooting shots.
02:59So I live with their perimeter three-point shots and keep them off the free-throw line.
03:05Festus, I'm watching Draymond Green tonight because these are the games,
03:09whether it's Wembenyama or Giannis or Zion, that Draymond says,
03:14all right, I am an all-world defender.
03:18Bring on this tower of power and slow down Zion.
03:21What are you looking for, Draymond, Zion, in that defensive matchup?
03:25I'm looking forward to seeing how Draymond responds, first off, offensively.
03:29Because you can tire Zion Williamson out.
03:32Like, the pace of the flow of the Warriors offense has been something that Steve Kerr has focused on
03:36the past couple of days.
03:38And so, with that pace comes Draymond taking those open shots.
03:42So he has to take those.
03:43He has to make that.
03:43The ball has to keep moving when he's in the game.
03:45And then with the defensive part, you just got to guard Zion without fouling him.
03:49You got to make him take tough shots over you.
03:51He has a load.
03:52He's going to jump.
03:53He's going to try to jump over everybody who's in front of him.
03:55But you got to make sure you limit those transition buckets, run back, stop him there,
03:59and not let him get those easy buckets that he gets those foul shots.
04:03And, Mully, I'm still kind of on a high after the Warriors beat the Nuggets in that last one.
04:08So many wonderful performances all the way around.
04:10But Guy Santos, you and I were just talking about Guy Santos.
04:14Mully, talk to me about what it's like in the league when you find that confidence level
04:19and you're continuing to play this way.
04:20Because he's showing so much more of his game, Mully.
04:23Yeah, his skill level, and I think he's just got a great feel for the game,
04:26both offensive and defensively.
04:28And now he's playing about 28 minutes.
04:30So he's been able to pass up some shots, play through some mistakes.
04:35And Guy Santos, to me, he's got much stronger physically, maintain his versatility.
04:41I love the fact that he's more than willing to shoot the open three.
04:45But he's also a really good attack in the paint to finish or create for his teammates.
04:50Don't sleep on Moses' booty, Fitz.
04:51He's 16 of his last 17.
04:53He's scored a double figures.
04:54And he dropped a career high there in New Orleans earlier this season
04:57with 32 points and eight made threes.
04:59Playing some good basketball.
05:00You guys have a good call tonight.
05:01It's the Warriors trying to stack some wins here on this road trip.
05:04I think Bonte just said it.
05:06Stacking wins.
05:07It feels like, hey, tonight and tomorrow are kind of linked.
05:10Like, the way you get off to, can you win this game and then take the momentum to Memphis.
05:14But that Denver game, you said you're still on a high.
05:17I love the way they won because that energy level, they need that the rest of the year.
05:22It was the best win of the season.
05:23I feel like we've said that before.
05:24But they keep doing these things, like inspiring wins.
05:27So they one-up themselves.
05:28We've got to say it again.
05:30Now you need the carryover, right?
05:31You're talking about the spirit they play with, how hard they play with.
05:34These two games here, the back-to-back.
05:36By the way, remember the back-to-backs.
05:38That's happened, like, in November, late November against Minnesota.
05:41That was a long time ago.
05:42But two young teams, it's a big challenge.
05:45You've got to play hard through it.
05:46And when you get down in a game, the fourth quarter against Denver showed
05:49the Warriors are never out of a game.
05:52They can play 12 incredible minutes.
05:54The Kaiser Permanente teamwork in action.
05:57Everybody involved.
05:58Pajemski was amazing.
05:59But so many different guys, big shots.
06:01Timely buckets.
06:02Al Horford was wonderful all game.
06:04But the mentality you have when it comes to how you're creating these shots,
06:08that's the key thing here, right?
06:10If you have the right mentality to go inside, kick it back out,
06:13really make the defense work, move the ball around,
06:15you may have a game where you're struggling from three-point range.
06:18But you'll live with the results as long as you have that mentality.
06:21So New Orleans gets DeJounte Murray back.
06:23He's been out a year.
06:24Old friend Jordan Poole had a great game against Philly.
06:27But the story for the Pelicans is always, can Zion Williamson stay healthy?
06:31Well, he's played 32 straight games.
06:34Best run of his career.
06:35The BMW ultimate performer.
06:37The talent's never been in question.
06:39His body looks good.
06:40He's found some consistency when it comes to playing, being available.
06:44That's always a question with him.
06:46Now the Warriors have to deal with him.
06:47And that's a problem.
06:49You think about, okay, when do you double team him?
06:51Do you double team him right away when he catches the ball?
06:53Do you double team him late at the rim?
06:55You have to be ready to help one way or another.
06:57But you probably do both.
06:58You want to give him different looks.
07:00Make sure he doesn't get used to whatever your coverage is.
07:02It's a tall task, though.
07:03So the Warriors do not have Al Horford tonight.
07:06We'll have DeAnthony Melton.
07:08And then they'll switch because they don't play back-to-backs tomorrow.
07:11But who doesn't like M&M's?
07:13Just in general.
07:15A thousand percent approval rating.
07:16Because Melton and Moody would be the Warrior version of M&M's.
07:20The way Melton was scoring outside.
07:22The way Moses is scoring in double figures.
07:25They'll need everybody available tonight to get it done,
07:28to take care of the Pelicans.
07:29Bonte and the guys are back in the studio.
07:31Coming up next.
07:41Warrior Basketball on NBC Sports Bay Area is brought to you by Toyota.
07:47Class-leading MPG and more hybrid models than any other brand.
07:51Toyota.
07:52Let's go places.
07:55By Jack in the Box.
07:56The hot mess is back as a munchie meal for Jack's 75th anniversary.
08:02And by the Bay Area BMW Centers.
08:17The closer.
08:30A little Delta doubleheader starts down by the Bayou with New Orleans tonight.
08:37Memphis tomorrow.
08:38On a two-game road trip for the Warriors as they take on the New Orleans Pelicans
08:42for the third and final time this year.
08:45And Kalena Auzabuki, they have won the first two.
08:49Would love to sweep the season series.
08:51Mr. Moody had a career high the last time we were here.
08:54And the Warriors were playing without Steph Curry.
08:57And without Jimmy Butler.
08:58And without Al Horford tonight.
09:00They do get Draymond Green back.
09:02But they got ten guys in uniform and nine in the regular rotation.
09:05Yeah, and Moses Moody coming off a great game against the Nuggets.
09:10That was an inspiring win.
09:11They've done that a few times this season.
09:13More than a few times.
09:14You need the carryover.
09:16This is a tough challenge because this is a team that's hunting wins.
09:20Anytime they feel like they have an opportunity to maybe get a win,
09:22they're energized.
09:23Limiting penetration is going to be so key.
09:26They're number one when it comes to paint points.
09:28Actually, number one when it comes to three-point percentage this month.
09:31They're not a great three-point shooting percentage team.
09:33So, be ready to help.
09:35Defensive rebounding is going to be important.
09:37They don't settle.
09:38You can get to the rim on this team.
09:40They guard the three-ball well.
09:41Not as much twos.
09:44DeJounte Murray, who had been out since January 31, 2025.
09:50And Murray going around and in for the Pelicans' first bucket.
09:56Moved the ball around and you just couldn't keep your body in between him and the basket.
10:00They wanted to get him going early.
10:01Great to have him back.
10:03Melton Spence for Moody.
10:04Guy Santos and Draymond Green.
10:07And Moses for three.
10:08Off iron and Herb Jones the rebound.
10:10Zion Williamson to Herb Jones.
10:12DeAndre Jordan in year 18.
10:16And DeJounte Murray setting up Zion.
10:20Sadiq Bey out of the corner, missing that three.
10:22Guy Santos the rebound.
10:23But immediately, you see what they get back with DeJounte Murray,
10:27another guy that can create and get the ball moving off of his attack.
10:31Draymond flat with that three.
10:33And here comes Murray the other way.
10:35Okay, that's a two-three shot for the Warriors.
10:40DeJounte Murray from D.
10:43Now, Kalena mentioned two threes because you can get whatever you want inside against the Pelicans.
10:49Now, we're turning that over.
10:51Teams shoot 58% in the lane against New Orleans.
10:54That's the third worst in the NBA.
10:57They're one of the worst opponent paint point teams in the league.
11:0125th there.
11:02The pass is out inside.
11:05You just caught on the wrong side of him.
11:08And he sealed you.
11:09And he's such a big body.
11:11If you're on the wrong side at any point, it's going to be tough to get around.
11:16Pelicans beating Philly in their last game.
11:20They're the best three-point shooting team in the month of February in the NBA.
11:23Matt Spencer rimming that out.
11:25Draymond kept it alive.
11:28And out of bounds at the baseline.
11:29That'll be New Orleans ball.
11:31You love that crash, though, from Draymond.
11:33Your spirit is your identity in these games.
11:35You see him seal the Anthony Melton.
11:37That's a mismatch.
11:38You tried to get the help there, but you realized it late.
11:44Zion getting downhill.
11:46And Draymond does just enough to bother him.
11:48He has had his number defensively over the years.
11:51And he gets hyped to play these games.
11:53And then Zion blocking DeSantos.
11:56That is effort from Zion Williamson.
11:58This crowd appreciates that.
12:00He got stopped on the other end.
12:02Wasn't discouraged.
12:04Just sprinted back.
12:05Anytime you get that kind of effort, James Borrego is going,
12:08okay, we love that.
12:15Moses Moody rocking into a three.
12:18And the Warriors are on the board.
12:19Draymond has set some pretty good screens here early on.
12:22What else is new for him?
12:23He set another good one there.
12:24The screener's defender just is nowhere to be found.
12:30Herb Jones, excellent defender, trying to create his own offense there.
12:35Sadiq Bey with the shot clock at eight.
12:37Takes the bucket and body for an opportunity for a three-point play.
12:42You got Sadiq Bey just attacking a long closeout.
12:46They're actually getting some pretty good ball movement here.
12:48And they're making you work defensively.
12:51Sadiq Bey is having an amazing season.
12:54One of the players that's just been doing work and been consistent for them all season.
12:59He didn't see it there.
13:01But it was an awkward closeout for that defender.
13:02He's going to recognize that.
13:03Even though he's a solid three-point shooter, he's not going to settle.
13:06And Sadiq Bey averaging 17 a game.
13:13This is the start that James Borrego wanted, building off their win over Philly.
13:19And Zion taking it away from Guy Santos.
13:24Sadiq Bey looking for an early Zion post.
13:28A good fronting by De'Anthony Melton.
13:30He never got to him.
13:32Now Draymond.
13:33On Zion again.
13:35Knows how to bother him enough.
13:38Well, he just kept him out there.
13:39He has a strong base.
13:41Didn't let him.
13:42And the Warriors turn it over.
13:43Third Warrior turnover.
13:45And Draymond didn't let him get closer to the basket.
13:48And he used his strength there.
13:50His strength on strength.
13:51Make that a tough jump hook.
13:53But the Warriors, this Pelicans team actually takes care of the ball.
13:56So the Warriors can't get to turning the ball over in this one.
14:01Iso Sadiq Bey.
14:03That Spencer, that is a very tough matchup.
14:06And you've got an illegal defensive three-second violation.
14:09That'll be a technical free throw.
14:11Warriors have to be ready for this.
14:12Because the Pelicans are actually eighth in ISO frequency percentage.
14:15So they do ISO a good amount.
14:18They've got plenty of guys that can do it.
14:19Obviously, Bey's one of those guys.
14:21You've got Zion Williamson, who's been great there.
14:24And you know where he's trying to get to.
14:26They're trying to get to the rim.
14:27So tonight's telecast features the stat track with live data,
14:31visualizations of shot distance, player tracking,
14:33and a dynamic shot chart brought to you by Dude Wipes.
14:36But it's the game within the game.
14:37You're trying to figure out, okay, when do I come to hell?
14:39Because you've got to make sure if you're on a shooter,
14:42and basically this whole team is hot this month
14:45as you get a traveling violation.
14:47Sadiq Bey shuffled the feet.
14:49I'm talking about shooting 40% from three-point range for a whole month.
14:53As a team.
14:54It's wild.
14:55I mean, it's like when, you know, we see Guy Santos hot,
14:58we see Moses Moody hot,
14:59but when your whole team is hot for a month.
15:02We were talking to Antonio Daniels before the game,
15:04and he was just like, hey, different guys would be getting hot
15:06as Draymond gets to the rim.
15:08Draymond attacked DeAndre Jordan there.
15:10Yeah, well, he got a ball screen there.
15:12And a lot of times, bigs aren't good at guarding ball screens
15:15when it comes to guarding the ball handler.
15:16Figure out, do I fight over the top?
15:18I can't figure it out.
15:20There was never a better illustration of how easily you can score
15:23inside against New Orleans than that play right there.
15:26Especially if you get creative.
15:29Anthony Mountain, what a steal.
15:30Getting on the deck.
15:31Zion ripping it away.
15:33You can have a jump ball first.
15:37You got to give Anthony Mountain, getting on the floor.
15:41You got to give him credit.
15:43Get that floor bearer in your life.
15:45He's just moving his feet.
15:47DeJounte Murray loses it.
15:49You're trying to corral it.
15:50Just get on the floor.
15:52Make sure you grab it.
15:54The 50-50 balls, who wants it?
15:56I told you this.
15:57This Pelicans team hasn't had a ton of wins this season.
16:01Anytime they can smell an opportunity to get a win, they're energized.
16:05They don't look like the 27th best defensive team in the league.
16:08We've seen that on that side.
16:09Over here, people are trying to get on the floor.
16:11They're going for loose balls.
16:12So, Quentin Post and Guy Santos out.
16:14Yeah, when you say smell, no Steph Curry, no Jimmy Butler, no Al Horford tonight, no Chris Tapps Porzingis on
16:21the trip.
16:22And how about Melton?
16:23Not only does he get the steal, but the Warriors get the tap.
16:26He came up with it.
16:28And Anthony for three.
16:30Why not?
16:30He did everything else.
16:32That is Draymond set another screen.
16:34That defender tried to go under that.
16:36Anthony Melton made him pay.
16:38Zion with a head of steam.
16:40Difficult to stop right there.
16:42Because if you lose connection and you don't fight over the top of that, which Draymond is never going to
16:46go over the top of his screens.
16:47You go on the other side, now he has the angle to the basket.
16:51Draymond attacking again.
16:53Melton stepped back three.
16:54And here comes Zion in motion again.
16:57He is a freight train going downhill.
16:59You have got to stop him or slow him down because full momentum, it's over.
17:04Well, Melton is trying to pressure him early.
17:06And a foul.
17:08And he got a foul there.
17:09But you mentioned that Sixers win they had in their last game.
17:12That was a pretty good win for them against a solid team.
17:15They were actually down 0-8 to start the game and got some defensive stops, got going.
17:23And then in the second half, they kind of blew up there and ended up beating them handily.
17:27Yeah, I mean, they have Utah a couple more times this month.
17:30They could have a winning month of February.
17:32They beat Minnesota, beat Sacramento.
17:36Murray dropping in the wing jumper.
17:38I feel great for DeJounte.
17:40You miss a full calendar year.
17:42It's got to be exciting to be healthy again.
17:44He doesn't look very rusty like he missed a full calendar year.
17:47Warriors are throwing the ball away early.
17:51And Zion hammering that down.
17:54Steve Kerr is going to use a timeout.
17:56The Pelicans have rolled after the anthem.
17:59Be very afraid.
18:01You are now dealing with explosives.
18:03Oh, my goodness.
18:05Warriors down six here.
18:07This crowd is kind of levitating after that one.
18:11Yikes!
18:13Jump with him at your own wrist.
18:18Bay Area is brought to you by Genentech, official partner of the Bay Area host community.
18:25This was Kalena on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter.
18:29Stop and smell the roses.
18:30Why are you in and out of all these establishments so quickly last night?
18:34Because there's so many great places to eat.
18:36It's overwhelming.
18:37You've got to get there fast.
18:38The Xfinity powerful performance.
18:40Moses Moody, last time we were in New Orleans.
18:4432 with the eight threes, career numbers.
18:47And that's 22 plus minus.
18:49I love that he's shooting a three ball so well.
18:51It just opens up the rest of his game.
18:53Now you can show and go much easier.
18:55Guys are closing all the way out to you.
18:57A lot of times it's not under control.
18:59You've got to get to the rim.
19:01So Brandon Pajemski's first playing time with Will Richard, Quinton Post, and De'Anthony Melton and Draymond.
19:07Jeremiah Fears checking in for New Orleans.
19:11Murray's going to be on some kind of minute restriction.
19:13Draymond took it at De'Andre Jordan.
19:15That's okay.
19:16Got it right back.
19:18Shot clock at three.
19:20And Pajemski throwing it to Draymond on the lob post, fighting for it.
19:24And out of bounds to the Warriors.
19:26Bro, you've got to give De'Andre Jordan credit.
19:27He played in their last game.
19:29The last time he played before that was October 29, 2005.
19:33And he came in and had a wonderful game.
19:36Was finishing at a high level.
19:37Caught a lob.
19:38He was rebounding.
19:39And he talked about after the game, he was like, I had to do hyperbaric chamber, acupuncture, ice, stretching to
19:46stay ready for this one.
19:47He did, man.
19:47We were talking to him pregame.
19:49I mean, 18 years in the league.
19:51That's called being a professional, man.
19:52Staying ready.
19:54Pajemski attacking.
19:55Had it knocked away.
19:56Got it back.
19:57And then knocked away again.
19:58You don't want to do that with Ferb Jones.
20:00See if you can move off the ball, get it back.
20:04Ferb Jones is 30% on threes this year.
20:06Missing that.
20:07But Sadiq Bey the rebound.
20:10And Bey inside, up and under.
20:12And there's your ISO game with Sadiq Bey.
20:14Almost 17 a game he's averaging.
20:16So eight unanswered by New Orleans.
20:18Five Warrior turnovers.
20:20And DeAnthony Melton striping another three.
20:22Three Warriors have hit three of them.
20:24They're shooting it well.
20:26Warriors came off a game where they made 21.
20:29The Pelicans in their last one were 17 at 34, 50% for three-point range.
20:33So something's got to give.
20:34Zion again.
20:35Second jump.
20:37Man.
20:38He's a different type of human being, man.
20:41He had the dunk with the right hand.
20:42He had that follow with the right hand.
20:43He's so left-hand dominant.
20:45Even more impressive.
20:46Melton's getting all he can eat.
20:48But missing that mid-range.
20:50So the Warriors right now, four of 13.
20:53Pelicans, seven of 13.
20:58So just kind of handle their momentum as Fierce rattles that out.
21:03Andre Jordan shed Pajemski out here.
21:05And then dunked it down.
21:06Yeah, that acupuncture is working.
21:08He's got a small defender on trying to box him out for Pajemski.
21:11He's not going to let that happen.
21:12He can still get up and punch some.
21:18Ramon, good screen.
21:21Melton hit that, but it's Williamson.
21:23The foul is on Zion before the jumper.
21:25Yeah, you've got to test Williamson on this side.
21:28See if he's going to get hung up on these screens.
21:29Does he really want to fight over the top of some of these or fight under or through?
21:34Because DeAndre Jordan is in drop coverage.
21:37Look at him fighting over this.
21:38Look where DeAndre Jordan is.
21:40He's not in the frame.
21:41He never got in there.
21:42So it's all up to Zion Williamson if he's going to fight over the top.
21:46He didn't do so well enough there.
21:52You mentioned Herb Jones, an elite defender.
21:55Santos back in.
21:58Shot clock down to five.
22:00Post has to make something out of nothing.
22:03And the 24-second violation GP2 never saw the clock.
22:06Well, Clint Post has to shoot that.
22:07You've got fears on you.
22:09You guys half your size with the shot clock running down.
22:12Someone's got to be yelling, butter!
22:14As in, you better shoot it.
22:15So Derek Queen, Jordan Poole in.
22:18To play with Fears, Jones, and DeAndre Jordan.
22:21The Warriors are in his zone here.
22:23There's no surprise.
22:24They are 25th when it comes to three-point shooting percentage,
22:26even though they've been shooting it well lately.
22:28Fears has that quickness and likes to call his own number.
22:32DeSantos deflecting that out of bounds.
22:33And you're going zone not just because of the three-point shooting,
22:35but also to try to limit their paint points.
22:37They're number one in the league when it comes to paint points.
22:40They want to get the ball inside.
22:41They're going to try to flash someone in the middle.
22:43Good to see Jordan Poole in the game.
22:44He came off a really nice one.
22:46Played in his last two.
22:47He hadn't been playing before that as much,
22:49so he's another stay-ready guy for them.
22:52Yeah, he had 23 against Philly.
22:54Kind of won the game in the second half.
22:56DeSantos, great contest.
22:57And Fears unable to hit that three.
22:59I was smiling watching that Philly game,
23:01watching him do work.
23:03Jordan Poole I'm talking about.
23:08DeSantos out of the corner.
23:10That's a shot the Warriors want.
23:11He's been bottoming those threes.
23:14DeSantos quick enough to track that down on the outlet.
23:18Jordan Poole step-back three.
23:20Told you, that's what he was doing against Philly.
23:23The Warriors are familiar with that.
23:25Warrior fans know when he gets hot, he is dangerous.
23:29That's an offensive foul.
23:30GP2 was moving.
23:32Telney, as well as they played in the fourth quarter against Denver,
23:36to see the Warriors start 4 of 14 with six turnovers,
23:40this is just a brutal offensive beginning.
23:42Jordan Poole in that Sixers game,
23:44that was probably his best game as a Pelican.
23:46He kind of got off to a slow start this year,
23:48being traded here from the Wizards.
23:51If he gets rolling, they'll be even better.
23:55Beerson Poole up top.
23:56Jordan Poole beat three.
23:58That's an air ball.
23:59A good contest.
24:00Kind of got a piece of that one.
24:03So if you're the Warriors,
24:05you're taking that first blow as Podjanski misses there.
24:09Getting shots up is one thing.
24:11Turning the turnover faucet off,
24:14that becomes incredible and important.
24:18At three, misfiring off by Queen,
24:20and can you take advantage of the Pelicans inside?
24:23We've talked about that porous defense.
24:26GP2 missed everything,
24:28but Podjanski, their balls go to the offense.
24:30And the Pelicans have been trying to kind of clog up the paint on the Warriors.
24:34He's almost saying, we want you to beat us over the top.
24:36He's saying it's a good find.
24:38That's what I'm saying.
24:38And GP2 flying in, couldn't finish.
24:41They're not even closing out the guys at the three-point line.
24:46Clean down the lane.
24:47That's where they like to live, in the paint.
24:49They got 16 points in the paint already.
24:52And they're one great from three-point range.
24:55So they're back down to earth from the three-point line,
24:57but they're doing what they do inside.
25:00Yeah, the Dubs have missed their last five shots.
25:01They need a bucket in the worst way.
25:04GP2 missing that three.
25:05This is James Borrego's game plan.
25:07It's clear.
25:08They're not closing out the guys.
25:11Poole traveled.
25:14With Jordan Poole, he had also a quad issue earlier in the season.
25:19That kind of threw him off, too.
25:20But Warriors having to deal with this avalanche early,
25:24trying to survive here, stay within striking distance.
25:33To learn about.
25:34That's New York's Sweetwater Clifton.
25:37Sweetwater's one of the pioneers of making the New York Knicks
25:40what they are today.
25:41He was almost like the precursor of what the NBA big men are.
25:44He showed a man at a taller size,
25:46could do a lot of guard skills as well.
25:48Some fellas are really slick, like Clifton of New York.
25:51I think now when you see the NBA,
25:53he was much ahead of his time.
25:59Many aspects of the league are built by black history,
26:02shaped by black players, coaches, employees, and fans.
26:05Black History Month and beyond.
26:06The NBA celebrates the excellence that moves the game forward.
26:10And the Warriors want to move forward in the scoring column, Kalena,
26:13because right now they're four of 19.
26:17They're three of ten on threes,
26:19and then they're topping it off with seven turnovers.
26:22Coming off of that inspiring win against the Nuggets,
26:25you were hoping for some carryover,
26:26but Warriors look a little surprised the way the Pelicans are playing.
26:30If you can get to your in-between game,
26:31there's a double team to get out of it.
26:34Jamski on the counterattack and floating it up and out.
26:36Quinton Post dunking it down.
26:38You saw GP2 get to the rim.
26:40He didn't finish.
26:40Quinton Post get to the rim.
26:42Draymond went to the offensive glass.
26:43They're not boxing anybody out.
26:45You have to get your crash rate up.
26:46You're missing enough.
26:47And I said get to your in-between game.
26:49It was a pretty good floater,
26:50but everybody contested that floater
26:51that left the offensive glass open.
26:54Carlo Matkovich checking in.
26:57He thought about shooting that three.
27:00Sadiq Bae is not going to think at all.
27:03Guy Santos, quickest man of the ball,
27:04running with Moody.
27:06And Guy, the little South American step
27:09to put that up and in.
27:10He's so poised with that move.
27:13Poised under pressure.
27:14He's great when it comes to his ball handling under pressure.
27:17He can move and leave the break
27:19as he forced a turnover here.
27:21Nothing wrong with that.
27:22Quinton Post drop it off to GP2.
27:25There you go.
27:26So now, defense leading to offense twice.
27:29And after not scoring at all inside,
27:32back-to-back layups.
27:33So James Borrego will take time.
27:36And I didn't know what the time difference
27:37when the Warriors would arrive,
27:39but the last two possessions,
27:40they're here.
27:46Chase Center bring the family on March 1st
27:48as they take on the San Diego Clippers.
27:51First 10,000 fans get the Santa Cruz Warriors'
27:53Jimmy Butler bobblehead.
27:55Tickets start at just $46.
27:57All at ChaseCenter.com.
27:59By the way, Jimmy Butler,
28:00what a great letter to Warrior season ticket holders.
28:03That was awesome.
28:03I mean, I miss Jimmy every day,
28:05on and off the floor,
28:07but he is not out of our mind at all.
28:09We think about it all the time
28:11as Fears hits the corner three.
28:13I didn't know Jimmy Butler was such a great writer.
28:16That was a wonderful excerpt there.
28:18But Fears,
28:19you're still okay with him shooting those shots.
28:22You want to get out and maybe contest a little bit
28:24because he wants to drive it.
28:25He's more of a driver.
28:27But tougher threes usually live with it.
28:31They're moving the ball really well.
28:35Warriors have dug a hole,
28:36trailed by as many as 14.
28:40Now it's just about taking care of the ball,
28:42moving the ball,
28:42and now 80 seconds.
28:43They're being consistent with this.
28:45This is a three-second defensive violation.
28:47It'll be a technical free throw.
28:48So Warriors went into the post.
28:50GP2 gets the ball.
28:51Let him make the read.
28:52Run your split action.
28:53Everybody knows it.
28:55One of the reasons they beat the Nuggets in that game
28:57was besides the three-point turn,
28:59they were just playing harder.
29:00They were the more aggressive team.
29:01I said earlier in this game,
29:03the Warriors' spirit is their identity
29:06in these games especially.
29:07Without Steph Curry,
29:09without Jimmy Butler,
29:10how shorthanded is they are.
29:11Moses Moody missed the free throw.
29:12But you've got to outplay your opponent
29:14when it comes to effort, intensity.
29:16You've got to be the more aggressive team.
29:18You need to be playing harder.
29:19Before this last little stretch
29:20where the Warriors got some stops
29:21and got out of transition,
29:23fouls the Pelicans playing harder.
29:24Well, one of the things you said,
29:26and that's a perfect pass
29:27that he left on the rim,
29:29but you'll run that all day.
29:30Couldn't postbound him perfectly.
29:33Mankovic out of the corner
29:34and bottoming a three.
29:35That hurts.
29:36That's a five-point swing
29:37on a sure layup,
29:38but giving up a three on the other end.
29:40Well, he is one of the guys that can shoot.
29:42He's 46% from three-point range.
29:46Wojcicki driving.
29:47There it is.
29:48Okay, how many point-blank shots now
29:50are the Warriors stringing together?
29:52You want to be relentless.
29:54Keep doing it.
29:55So the shot clock off.
29:58The Ellicans have shot it at 54%.
30:01Taking advantage of the Warriors' six turnovers.
30:06Now down to nine.
30:09Veer's going to use that quickness.
30:11Jordan Poole for three.
30:13Rebound ricocheting.
30:16To end the quarter,
30:17the running three is off,
30:20and all things considered,
30:2212 is doable.
30:24The Pelicans have the advantage
30:26in play all 12 minutes,
30:28but for the Dubs,
30:30the effort,
30:31the spirit bar needs to be raised
30:33as New Orleans up a dozen.
30:35It was brought to you
30:36by the Bay Area BMW Centers.
30:39A good look at the Superdome
30:41and Smoothie King Arena
30:43in New Orleans.
30:44First of a back-to-back
30:46for the Warriors
30:46heading to Memphis tomorrow,
30:48but the Pelicans,
30:49they built a 14-point lead.
30:52It's 12 right now,
30:53and some of the Warriors' wounds
30:54were self-inflicted.
30:55Well, you found a little bit of momentum,
30:58a tiny bit of rhythm defensively.
31:00You're leading points off turnovers.
31:02You got nine points off of their turnovers.
31:04You know where they want to go.
31:05They got 18 points in the paint.
31:07The Warriors' last eight points
31:09have been in the paint, though.
31:10Good adjustment
31:12when Post is fouled.
31:14Well, they're trying to exploit
31:15the Pelicans switching.
31:17Derrick Queen is trying to figure out
31:19why they called that one,
31:20but anytime the Warriors
31:22throw it in the Post,
31:23for any reason,
31:24you're happy about it.
31:25A lot of time just to get your split action
31:27and your movement going.
31:28Are you ready when they throw
31:30to Quinton Post in the Post?
31:32Yes, I'm ready for this.
31:33Double entendre there.
31:39Inside out, though.
31:40That clearly needs to be the plan of attack.
31:43And DeSantos off-iron there.
31:45Moody, get that crash rate up.
31:47Glennon mentioned it.
31:48And Moses earns an extra possession.
31:50And Melton bottoms a three.
31:52They found one guy that's shooting right now.
31:54DeAnthony Melton's three of fives.
31:55And the defense is just in bad position
31:58because they couldn't get
31:59the defensive rebound.
32:05Lean, first-round pick.
32:06Fears a first-round pick.
32:09Lean, very skilled for a big man
32:10on the fadeaway.
32:11Off-iron there.
32:12Will Richard the rebound.
32:14Well defended.
32:15You're not surprised when they go ISO,
32:17trying to beat you one-on-one.
32:21DeJounte Murray, just get an idea
32:22and remember what a good defender he is.
32:24Quintin' close, missing that three.
32:27Queen got the rebound.
32:28Outlet to Makovic to dunk it down.
32:32And once they do get the defensive rebound,
32:34that could trigger their running.
32:35But you've got to make sure you know
32:37who's getting back as much as you're trying to crash.
32:39And New Orleans is a good fast-break team.
32:41Zion's a big reason for that.
32:43But that's also strategically.
32:45They have a guy leak out all the time.
32:49DeSantos in and out to Moody.
32:52Moses missing that three.
32:54The Warriors right now, four of 13,
32:57make it four of 14 from deep.
33:03We're cool.
33:04That snake dribble in the lane.
33:09Shot clock at five.
33:12Herb Jones will rock into a three
33:14and drop it down.
33:16You don't expect shots like that
33:18to go in with this team.
33:19But again, this month,
33:20they've been making more shots like that lately.
33:22Moses, they're closing out on Moody.
33:25So many at the three-point line now,
33:27he's getting around guys.
33:28Well, as a player with any type of quickness,
33:30you're so happy with guys that are up on you
33:32at the three-point line.
33:33Big, small, doesn't matter.
33:35Use your quickness and get by them.
33:36Ball.
33:38Not a kick.
33:39It was off a leg.
33:41DeSantos waiting for a trailer,
33:43and it's Melton.
33:45They walk.
33:46Traveled before he passed that.
33:48He's got to get that footwork right.
33:50Those are the turnovers that have nothing to do
33:52with the Pelicans.
33:53It's just the Warriors kind of giving away a possession.
33:56It was kind of a weak pass,
33:58even though it's understandable.
34:00I think it might have been deflected.
34:01But DeSantos, you love his attack there.
34:04Transition, that's what you want.
34:05Before the defense is set,
34:06see if you can attack, see what you have.
34:08If you don't like it, kick it back out.
34:11So Quinton Post sitting, Draymond back in.
34:14Warriors are trying to bring the activity level up
34:17defensively, get super active with their hands.
34:19So the player tags and other live data augmentations,
34:21part of our stat track, sponsored by Dude Weiss.
34:25Nice finish with Jordan Poole,
34:28and all the way to the rim.
34:29He does have that F1 speed.
34:31He's run through a catch there.
34:32He's coming off the screen.
34:33You're fighting over.
34:34That one deflected away by Herb Jones.
34:38For the Pelicans,
34:39we've said they've been playing well in February.
34:41They're coming off a great win over Philly.
34:44Poole missing that three.
34:45Santos the rebound.
34:46They're one of the better offensive teams in February.
34:49Will Richard from deep,
34:50and he missed everything.
34:51The Warriors' three-point calibration
34:53has been tough to watch here.
34:55Will Richard, give me that.
35:00Well, one guy's been hitting,
35:01but Melton missed that three.
35:03Will Richard has always dialed in defensively.
35:05He's going to get a steal or two for you.
35:10We talked about the Warriors
35:12make the most threes.
35:14They make the most.
35:15They're 10th in the league,
35:16but Minkovic,
35:17maybe it's not just the Warriors' three-point shooting tonight.
35:20Yeah.
35:20Whoa.
35:21Well, Matt Cobing,
35:22I said he's shooting 46% for three-point range.
35:24That was one of the issues with him coming into the league.
35:27Most people were saying he's so inconsistent
35:28with his three-point shooting.
35:30He's really working hard on that.
35:31It's clear with that percentage,
35:33but every now and then,
35:34he reverts back.
35:36Well, New Orleans' 51% shooting,
35:38the Warriors' 31%.
35:43This is just about getting to halftime
35:45at a reasonable number.
35:47Let's see if the shooting comes along for the ride.
35:51Jack Lockett, five.
35:53Moody getting around Zion,
35:55right to the rim.
35:55Oh, man.
35:56Clothesline there.
35:57But you see him start to realize it, right?
35:59I can drive easier than I think sometimes.
36:03Especially if you got Zion Williamson.
36:05I said you got to test him defensively.
36:07See if he wants to move his feet.
36:08See if he wants to make multiple efforts.
36:10Close out under control,
36:11then move your feet.
36:12No, he's not going to do that a lot of the time.
36:15And you put the rest of the defense in a tough position.
36:17And if you're driving a dish-out punishment like Moody,
36:21that's the other thing about when he drives.
36:23He doesn't avoid contact.
36:25So Moody's first free throw down,
36:28Salpino's, onion rings,
36:29and gooey pepper jack cheese.
36:31Welcome to Jack in the Box.
36:35That made me hungry.
36:36That made me something.
36:40Wow.
36:41Yeah, he can keep driving though.
36:44Moody is realizing it.
36:48I don't know that New Orleans can play better.
36:51And yet it's a 12-point game.
36:53Moody with the foul up top.
36:54Yeah, he's trying to bring the ball pressure.
36:57And that was the other thing he struggled with
36:59in that Nuggets game.
37:00And you overcame it.
37:01The Nuggets get to the free throw line.
37:03You're bringing so much intensity
37:05and ball pressure and active hands defensively.
37:07The Nuggets use it against him at times,
37:08especially in that third quarter.
37:09So you don't want to get back into that habit.
37:13What Steve's saying is he doesn't want Fears
37:15to be able to put his arm up at a hook
37:17with Moses' arm.
37:19That was a foul though.
37:20It was.
37:20I'm just saying that's why Steve is talking to Tyler Ford.
37:24That's what the discussion is.
37:26Jordan Poole beating the shot clock.
37:27Missing that three.
37:28Rebound battle inside and out of bounds too.
37:32New Orleans.
37:34Give DeAndre George credit.
37:36He's a presence in there.
37:38You still have to respect his bounce,
37:41his athleticism.
37:42Look at his body.
37:43He's really kept his body in great shape.
37:45He still looks pretty bouncy.
37:47He got a hand on that one.
37:49And now he's got another opportunity for the Pelicans.
37:53So we're going to have a coach's challenge here.
37:56Do we have a proximate foul?
37:58Do we have Jordan touching?
38:00Warrior Basketball on NBC Sports Bay Area is brought to you by CGI Technology and Professional Services.
38:08Insights you can act on.
38:10And you can act on scoring inside against the Pelicans.
38:14For the Warriors down a dozen.
38:16And the coach's challenge, DeAndre Jordan and Draymond.
38:18After the replay center official has ruled the ball last touched the fingertips of Bay.
38:23Therefore, the challenge is successful.
38:25It's Golden State basketball.
38:27Due to the ball hitting the horizontal portion of the stanchion,
38:30Golden State will inbound the ball at the free-go line extended.
38:33They were charged a timeout.
38:34They have the ability for a second challenge later in the game.
38:36So Sadiq Bey touched it last.
38:38It's Warrior ball.
38:39Look at Sadiq Bey trying to act like he didn't touch it.
38:42He's just hoping.
38:43I hope they didn't see me.
38:45So Jacob Rubin one for one on the replays.
38:47Yes.
38:49Warriors are shot six threes in this quarter so far.
38:52You want to see if you can get anything going to the basket now.
38:57That's it.
38:57Spencer with the step back.
38:59And Draymond, good offensive rebound, batted it out to Melton.
39:02The Warriors just can't make a shot.
39:04And they're getting all they want right now.
39:07I don't think any of these threes will even have been contested.
39:09And Sadiq Bey will pick up a foul.
39:11I mean, the Warriors are four of 18, and they're all wide open threes.
39:16Coming off a game where they made 21 threes.
39:18But the Warriors can't be surprised by this.
39:20They're pretty much the worst shooting team in the league without Steph.
39:25When it comes to threes, it's a struggle without Steph.
39:28So you've got to deal with it and understand, okay, this can happen to us.
39:33Let's see if we can get anything else.
39:35Can we show our versatility?
39:36Can we show our creativity?
39:37Can we get something mid-range?
39:39Can we go float game?
39:41There's got to be more to your offense.
39:43You can't be one-dimensional here.
39:44Can you get to the free throw line a little more?
39:46Moses Moody has realized he can get to the free throw line.
39:50So Sadiq Bey hitting a couple free throws.
39:53Bey, he's got eight in the game.
39:56Zion's got eight.
40:00The Warriors, one of eight in that Denver win.
40:02They had a stretch where they missed 14 straight threes.
40:06Draymond knocking down a corner three.
40:09Inside out.
40:10The pass was to the man in the middle, and then Draymond had the three.
40:13You've got two guys staying out at the perimeter.
40:15They used that pick and roll there.
40:17He got the ball in the middle.
40:18Made the defense react to that.
40:20Draymond's defender reacted.
40:22Anthony Mountain fouling Fears.
40:25He's got him again with that.
40:27Fears, I would say, I love his intensity and trying to ball pressure and everything,
40:33but with Fears, he may want to back up and gap him a little bit,
40:37see if he can fade him into a tough jumper because he wants to go around you
40:41and get to the rim.
40:42The other thing, too, with Melton, that being his third foul, he's done for the half.
40:46He's so critical when you don't have Steph and you don't have Jimmy.
40:52One of the most important players in this game.
40:54GP2 nearly knocked that away.
40:57It was a backcourt violation.
40:59Yet all the players kind of stop and wait for it, and Matt Calio said,
41:03hey, Peyton never touched that.
41:05You can't throw in the backcourt.
41:07Warriors have to use this.
41:08They're fourth in the league in opponent turnovers, third in steals.
41:11You've got to get active with your hands, see if you can keep forcing these turnovers
41:14and give yourself some opportunities.
41:16Trying to get this possession battle a little closer.
41:20Great catch by Draymond.
41:22Podjemski's got Zion there.
41:24Going to fall out of bounds.
41:26Booty came to his rescue.
41:27Moses unable to hit that.
41:29Podjemski, an extra possession.
41:31And they hit a three.
41:32They can't.
41:33Draymond batted that one out.
41:34They're playing volleyball.
41:36And then DeAndre Jordan makes fouls Podjemski.
41:42Activity, intensity, spirit bar.
41:44Look at Podjemski's headband.
41:46It's a little higher than he would like.
41:49That's what it takes.
41:52Sometimes you've got to get your headband messed up.
41:55But you just saw that possession.
41:57Brandon extra possession.
41:58Draymond batting it out.
41:59Like, if you just work against these guys, you can get all you can eat.
42:04He's right here for Flagler Fowler.
42:04Well, Flagler Fowler going to look at it.
42:06Well, head and neck.
42:07Head and neck area.
42:09At least take a look at it.
42:12The Warriors are starting to bring it now.
42:14Their spirit bar is up.
42:15They're playing with a lot of pride.
42:17Here's a good look at it.
42:20You got...
42:21The move is just so good there.
42:23I don't think that's...
42:24I don't think that's head and neck area.
42:25Is that unnecessary contact?
42:27That's going to be the question.
42:28He just got caught in the air because his one-foot decel is so good.
42:33The pump fake decel off one foot.
42:36He was really the one that kind of started doing this.
42:39After a review, DeAndre Jordan jumps A to B.
42:41He gets stuck in the air.
42:42There's no wind-up.
42:43There's no follow-through.
42:44It is just a common foul.
42:45I agree with that.
42:46I agree with that.
42:47You said it perfectly.
42:48Yeah.
42:48He just got caught in the air.
42:51But...
42:51And now if you'd thrown him to the ground or something like that...
42:55Wouldn't you say Pajenski was at least one of the first ones to start doing that one-foot decel thing?
43:00He was the one that talked to the officials about it, like, can I do this?
43:02And you see how well it works there.
43:05DeAndre Jordan jumped out of his shoes.
43:08And I like that.
43:10That was a quick review.
43:10Tyler Ford right there.
43:11He was in the finals last year as an official.
43:14But one thing last game, I did ESPN Radio for the Warriors last night for that game against the Nuggets
43:19and Warriors.
43:20And Pajenski, he was having a really rough game up until the fourth quarter.
43:25And there were some stretches where, okay, you have Jokic closing out to him.
43:29He's on the perimeter.
43:30Couldn't figure out how to make a play.
43:32Took some ill-advised shots.
43:33Turned it over.
43:34And Steph Curry was coaching him up.
43:36Yeah.
43:36Absolutely.
43:37And just helping him understand, okay, this is what you do in that situation.
43:42Women's Empowerment Night.
43:43It will be the Warriors and Clippers presented by Rakuten on Monday, March 2nd.
43:49All Women's Empowerment fans get the travel pouch.
43:52Get your tickets at 888-GSW-HoopingWarriors.com.
43:55And we get the night off.
43:57Tony Kavnar will be there.
43:59Natalie Nakase, Cheryl Miller on the broadcast.
44:02Steph Curry's probably saying to him, like, don't settle in that situation.
44:05And then to make the in-game adjustment and have the fourth quarter he did was huge.
44:09Jordan Poole for three.
44:11Andre Jordan batted it back out.
44:13Sadiq Bey on a reload.
44:16Raymond battling Jordan.
44:17I'll tell you, Raymond Green right now is really doing a good job on the glass.
44:21He's bringing it lead by example.
44:25And Spencer got into the lane.
44:28GP2.
44:29They can't buy a three, but DeSantos, a third opportunity now.
44:35Raymond just sucks up the space.
44:38The Warriors are working hard, but they're just trying to find some way to put the ball in the basket.
44:44You got to keep doing it, though.
44:46They're shooting 28% for the game.
44:49One lob to Zion, hit the backcourt.
44:51It was just a bad pass.
44:52Otherwise, Warriors were going to be dead there.
44:55That was one of those Don Nelson spit lobs.
44:59GP2 back to Draymond.
45:01Shot clock at 12.
45:04They're moving the ball.
45:05They're getting on the offensive glass.
45:07They're working on defense.
45:08Can the game reward them with shots going in the basket?
45:11Shot clock at two.
45:12That one blocked.
45:15Poole's fouled in the backcourt.
45:19Well, frustration may be building a little bit, but you can't grow weary of doing good things,
45:25even though you're not seeing the results.
45:27You got to keep working hard.
45:29And this is how it is in the NBA sometimes.
45:31Sometimes it's just tough sledding.
45:33You can't figure it out.
45:35You can't figure out why you're not making shots, even though you're generating shots the right way now.
45:42But the hope is you keep doing things the right way.
45:45The tide usually turns.
45:49It can't get any lower.
45:51The tide is out.
45:53When the tide comes back in.
45:56Look at the Warriors in this zone now.
45:58Zion Willington, they want to get him in the middle.
46:01They keep fouling Fears outside the perimeter.
46:05Well, Richard will be called for a foul.
46:07He was like, wait a minute.
46:08Didn't the free arm hit me in the throat?
46:11That's a rough way to have Fears shoot a couple free throws.
46:15Oh, he's a bonus.
46:16They're in the bonus right now.
46:17I know.
46:19So all the fouling you've done on the perimeter, trying to reach in, keeping your intensity up.
46:25You just got to keep your discipline with it, too.
46:27Know what the foul situation is.
46:29I mentioned this.
46:30This is what happened with the Nuggets in that third quarter.
46:33It was 15-3.
46:35Denver free throws in that third at Chase Center.
46:39The Warriors right of the ship with that 33-16 fourth quarter.
46:43It's rough because the Warriors, their heart is right.
46:47The one of two for Fears.
46:49If you're just getting home from work, you've missed nothing.
46:54Offensively, the Warriors have saved it all for you.
46:59Draymond short on that three.
47:00The Warriors have missed six shots in a row.
47:04Fears loading it up and out.
47:05Draymond with the rebound.
47:06Can you run it back?
47:07Draymond made it miss that when he turned it over.
47:09Bojemski lost it off his foot.
47:16Jones missing that.
47:18Rebound battle.
47:19Out to Bojemski.
47:20Draymond battling to Zion.
47:22Draymond checking his dental work in the backcourt right now.
47:25It's four on five.
47:27He took a shot.
47:28He has to deal with Zion and DeAndre Jordan in there.
47:31They're both fighting.
47:32Somebody in a white jersey make a basket.
47:35That becomes the story right now.
47:37DeSantos.
47:38Is that somebody?
47:39Yeah, throw those pump fakes.
47:40Let DeAndre Jordan.
47:41You've already seen DeAndre Jordan will jump for those pump fakes.
47:44He's got it down to nine.
47:47Zion a three.
47:48His last three was against the Warriors.
47:50Wait a minute.
47:52This guy, he scored.
47:53Coming into this game, he scored 917 points.
47:57And 905 of them were in the paint or free throws against the Warriors for some reason.
48:01He likes to shoot threes.
48:03He hasn't made a three since November 29th against the Dubs.
48:07Pat Spencer missing there.
48:14Three and a half remaining in the first half.
48:16The Warriors are trying to make some kind of headway.
48:21Zion to that strong left hand.
48:23Draymond, what a block.
48:25Beautiful weak side help.
48:27Unbelievable.
48:30Pat Spencer floating it up and in.
48:32Yeah, two defenders committed to the ball outside the perimeter.
48:36You get Pat Spencer moving without the ball.
48:39He's so good at that.
48:40The Warriors are playing hard.
48:43They're crashing the glass.
48:44They're playing defense.
48:46They need the offense to come along for the ride.
48:50For your basketball and NBC Sports Bay Area is brought to you by downtown Subaru of Oakland.
48:55The home of pure pricing.
48:56Whether it's online or in person.
48:58With pure price, it's a win-win situation.
49:00Visit SubaruofOakland.com.
49:03The sights and sounds of New Orleans with the Pelicans lead at 10.
49:10And a chance to look at our Kia player profile.
49:13And Derek Queen.
49:14He was taken 13th by Atlanta.
49:17One year at Maryland.
49:19Averaging 12.7 rebounds.
49:21Four assists.
49:21He's the only rookie this year with a triple-double.
49:24And only the fourth or fifth player in NBA history.
49:26With a 30-point triple-double before the age of 21.
49:30I'm impressed with his ball handling and his passing.
49:33He's got great size.
49:34He's not the most athletic guy in the world.
49:37He doesn't shoot the three ball extremely well.
49:39He's working on that.
49:39But he's got a really good feel for the game.
49:43Warriors sticking in that zone right now.
49:45Jones has hit a three.
49:47But rimmed that out and post with the rebound.
49:49But his Warriors can get out and transition.
49:51That'll do him some good.
49:52They only have four fast break points.
49:54You don't want to have to operate in a half court all night.
49:58Went and post from deep.
49:59The Warriors cannot make a three.
50:02Pat Spencer did not give up on the play.
50:03And he draws a foul.
50:05You've got to crash.
50:06You've got to keep crashing.
50:07You're missing enough shots.
50:10Give yourself some extra opportunities.
50:12Pat Spencer knows what it is.
50:13Get to the free throw line.
50:14You've got to do it in different ways.
50:16You've got to score in different ways.
50:18Five of 24 on threes.
50:20Yeah.
50:21Well, I said it in the open.
50:23If the Warriors have the right mentality,
50:24that's all you can think about being consistent with.
50:28You can't really think about,
50:29okay, we've got to make this number of threes.
50:31So we're going to have a coach's challenge by New Orleans now.
50:35With 2.41 remaining in the first half.
50:37New Orleans is taking the timeout to challenge the ruling of a defense.
50:39And the foul on Joe.
50:41So we'll see if it's a foul or not when we return.
51:06So we'll see if it's a foul or not when we return.
51:08We'll see if it's a foul or not when we return.
51:13I live and die for hip-hop.
51:14This is hip-hop of the day.
51:16I get brought to hip-hop.
51:17So hip-hop.
51:40After review, Jones legally gets to the basketball.
51:44Therefore, it is not a defensive foul.
51:46And the challenge is successful.
51:47At the time of making contact with the ball, Jones' foot is out of bounds.
51:52Therefore, Golden State will inbound the ball on the baseline.
51:55Game clock reset to 2.42.
51:57Shot clock to 9.
51:59New Orleans will retain their timeout.
52:01It will not be a foul.
52:03It's the right call.
52:05As right now, Herb Jones.
52:07Clean right there.
52:09Clean.
52:09Eminent possession.
52:10Pat Spencer did a great job of holding off DeJounte Murray and getting that ball.
52:15Snatched that thing up no matter what happens.
52:17So that's the best way to lose a coach's challenge if you're the Warriors.
52:20Basically.
52:20Because, okay, you don't get free throws.
52:22That would have been nice.
52:23But you still get the ball.
52:24Now you've got nine seconds to work with.
52:27Warriors are going to do all they can to try to get this win.
52:30I mean, you've got the back-to-back.
52:32No Al Horford tonight.
52:34Said the last time the Warriors had a back-to-back was late January against Minnesota.
52:38I think I said November or something in the open.
52:40I don't know why.
52:40But it was late January.
52:43Yeah, this is the 11th set of back-to-backs.
52:46Warriors have 15 on the year.
52:48That is an NBA high.
52:51Wojemski to beat the shot clock buzzer.
52:52Missing that jumper.
52:54It's a very important two and a half right now.
52:56You have it at 10.
52:57You've been down to 14.
52:58Queen shoots an air ball.
53:00Zion didn't catch it cleanly.
53:01Missed the layup.
53:02Zion a third opportunity and puts it in.
53:08Air ball goes to the offense.
53:09You're okay with Queen shooting that three.
53:12He's 29% from there.
53:13But you've got to find bodies.
53:16Sometimes even when you find bodies, it doesn't matter.
53:18Power.
53:19DeSantos bottoms a three.
53:21For a month, DeSantos is shooting 60% for the field and 50% on threes, essentially.
53:2819 of 39 coming in.
53:30He's operating with a super elevated confidence level right now.
53:37DeJounte Murray floats that one left off iron.
53:40Pojemski flew by to bother him.
53:42See how they loaded up on Zion Williams in there.
53:45Made him pass it.
53:48And post with a show and go.
53:50And lost the handle.
53:52A dribble around Murray or Jones.
53:55Sadiq Bae for three.
53:57Guy Santos, he blocked off Zion perfectly.
54:00It's the way to do it.
54:05Any kind of offense who's final minute 20.
54:08Down by as many as 14.
54:10There you go.
54:10That will be a foul that will send Pat Spencer to the line.
54:15Any kind of momentum you can find here.
54:18And again, with Zion Williamson in the vicinity.
54:21Test him defensively.
54:22Make him work.
54:23Now the Warriors are in the bonus.
54:27Aren't they?
54:27It's a foul, right?
54:31New Orleans has committed five team fouls.
54:33That is.
54:33They're in the bonus.
54:35They're in the bonus.
54:37I mean, it's.
54:39They're in the bonus.
54:40It's the.
54:41Why is it four team fouls?
54:43It's five.
54:43It's five.
54:44It was four when they rescinded the foul.
54:50Oh, they took it off after the challenge.
54:52Yeah, but that would have been four.
54:55Pat Spencer wasn't shooting the last time.
55:00The scoreboard is wrong.
55:02Officials had it correct, apparently.
55:06Santos.
55:07Oh, he walked that time.
55:09He had the pump fake.
55:12The scoreboard never took off the five.
55:14That's why the players were confused.
55:15That's why we were confused.
55:17Yeah, we were like waving at the bench.
55:18Hey, you got to get your shots.
55:20Well, they got to fix their school board.
55:22So, we know what's going on around here.
55:26The good news, bad news.
55:27Is the good news is the Warriors are holding New Orleans to 40% shooting.
55:31And only 46 points.
55:34Sadiq Bey off iron there.
55:36Post with the rebound.
55:37Got no issues with the Warriors defensive effort right now.
55:42Just have to find their offense.
55:50Shot clock down to eight.
55:53Moody and Post a little two-man game.
55:55Lobbed it to Pat Spencer and knocked away by Jones.
55:57Herb Jones is everywhere.
56:00Jonte Murray.
56:02That's an offensive foul.
56:04Wojcicki threw another one.

56:12He gets way outside of that restricted circle.
56:15Murray is trying to avoid him.
56:17Trying to go Euro step.

56:24He and Jalen Brunson battling for the league lead again.
56:28You know how hard it is to do.
56:29To get him square while he's trying to Euro step around you.
56:32It's a gift.
56:3712-second game shot clock difference.
56:40And Moses Moody.
56:41Beautiful find to Pat Spencer there.
56:43They're finding a way to draw two.
56:45Moses Moody did that.
56:46Made the right read.

56:50This zone has helped.

57:10Bounce some momentum there.
57:12Defending at a really high level.
57:14So both teams shooting sub 40%.
57:16The Warriors need to find their offense at halftime.
57:19But down seven after being down 14 and overcoming some miserable shooting.
57:26Ponce, Molly, Festus for your halftime live.
57:29Brought to you by Jack in the Box.
57:31It's on the way.
