30:30But four or five of the guys are expected to go see Finland experience another culture
30:35Coach already just emphasizing the importance of just finding out where their teammates are from whether it be you know
30:41The American guys or the guys overseas just hearing about their lives and how important it is for the chemistry
30:46of a team
30:47So I also looked up the flight from Salt Lake City
30:49And man, it's a good 15 hours so that bonding can start on the plane you guys

30:56Culture isn't just a word when you're talking about this jazz organization
31:01100% I mean that's a beautiful story there
31:04You know the intentional connections off the court and how they carry over onto the court
31:10When you know each other when you've spent time in the offseason during the season
31:15You know you build that trust and you can build a sense of being honest and real and comfort with
31:21one another
31:22And so I love it. Although I hope he's not recruiting him for the finish

40:40But a good overall game from a from an offensive standpoint

40:48Does it ever surprise you just how much you can change your game for what this team needs on a

43:41When you go into a game think about shooting and scoring probably not gonna go good for you
43:44So just focusing on rebound and defense defending and doing little things and usually I end up having a good
43:49game when I focus on those
43:50Emae talked about you guys moving the ball getting stagnant playing one-on-one. We didn't see a lot of
43:55that today
43:55Do you feel like today was as a group one of your better offensive performances? Um, yeah, for sure
43:59I think that's something we're getting better at just finding spacing and finding the balance of one-on-one and
44:04you know ball movement and playing with pace
44:07We got so many good offensive players that sometimes everybody thinks they turn you know, I'm saying so we find
44:11a good balance of it
44:12You know, it ain't perfect
44:13But I think I think right now is the time we need to start playing our best basketball to put
44:16it all together
44:16Yeah, you come off of a game the Nick game everybody's talked about the last, you know, the fourth quarter,
44:20right guys struggle a little bit
44:21You come in tonight was there a different mindset or is it just rinse and repeat?
44:25We're gonna do what we do. We are who we are or did you have to make adjustments?
44:29Oh, I think the mindset is just putting together four quarters
44:31I think I think we always show spurts of being a great team and and looking like we can we

44:39So I think our biggest theme all season has been trying to put together four quarters

45:03So that's something we just we definitely got to clean up and that's something that we're not we don't want

45:13They need a point guard. They need this. I know what it is in the locker room
45:16You don't think you need anything you guys think you're good enough. How does that make you feel?
45:20And what do you guys got to do to address that issue? Um, I think it's just just adjusting
45:24You know, I'm saying we have guys that can handle the ball
45:26We have guys that can play make and I think I think our point guard being out and forever
45:29And he's been helping us. He's been helping us getting the sets and and just work around that
45:34You know, I'm saying you got to play the cards that you was dealt
45:35We didn't plan on him getting hurt, but um, you know, we making it work and we learning and we
45:39growing from it
45:39Yeah, you've played outstanding. You had a tremendous game tonight
45:42How confident are you as you go into these last 23 24 games that you're going to carry on this
45:48consistency?
45:48And be there for this team and lead these guys into the playoffs. Oh, yeah, I'm super confident
45:53My teammates trust me and it's just on me every night to to not just focus on scoring
45:57But do the little things you know, I'm saying offense rebound and and do those things that we need to

46:55I mean, they're 29th in the league in crunch minutes that last five minutes of a basketball game
46:59They turn the basketball over way too many times you got to figure that out to the best of your

47:03But if you can get up shots and run and play against teams like this you have an opportunity
47:07But the good basketball teams are going to force you to turn that basketball over
47:11And it's still something that this houston team has to address if you're looking at that box score

49:03Cade made some out shots early, but it went cold because wimby was standing there in the paint nice still

49:10Though very aggressive play. Yeah, he's five for 26. That's not going to get it done for detroit
49:14Yeah, and this one was back and forth without a doubt. It's kind of what we expected in this one
49:19very next play though
49:22It gets a little this game was incredibly all day should be all day
49:26But how about getting up and down the floor was what the pistons did all night
49:28They were trying to get into transition and spread the basketball court
49:31They were trying to get wimby tired and he was huffing and puffing a little bit. You want to keep
49:35him out of half court
49:35He was huffing and puffing, but we talked about wimby
49:37He's one of the most impactful players on both ends of the floor
49:41Detroit struggled when wimby's on the floor and that led to easy baskets for the spurs
49:46Spurs were able to build in this one protecting the rim defense fueling their offense
49:51They get that ball out in the open floor and this one would end
49:55With a depth of a cell three-point shot and look at the gravity on that
49:59Wimby goes right down the lane three guys go to him and he give up the wide open three
50:03Love watching him play. He still has my mvp vote double figure win for the spurs tacked out on their

51:57You know, san antonio goes into detroit and they show what they are made of
52:02They showed their physicality, but they also showed their one heck of a basketball team, which is even more important
52:07Yeah, can I i'm gonna ask you this does this make you think differently of the spurs like we talked
52:11about them being championship level?
52:12This is a big time test for them
52:14You know for me
52:14I'm gonna be honest with you when they came into cleveland earlier in the season
52:17They came into cleveland without wimby. He was hurt and they beat the cavaliers
52:22They beat him handily and I was so impressed with the aaron fox and his whole crew castle vassal
52:26All these guys, vasali and all these guys
52:29Harrison barnes coming off giving a championship experience luke cornet. I said this has got it. This is a deep
52:34basketball team when he comes back into the fold
52:36I just don't know how you beat them. I don't know how you game plan for him specifically
52:40He changes everything on both ends of the floor. Detroit didn't play bad. They had 25 off 20 offensive rebounds
52:47They got out in transition. They did everything they wanted to but they're just not skilled enough
52:50They got to be able to make shots if they don't make shots
52:53I don't see how they get and that's where I said they would struggle because I said kate cuttingham if
52:57he can't get to the front of the rim and they force
52:59Him out and he has a bad night shooting. They're in trouble. He shot five for 26. They were in
53:03trouble
53:03So I was going to ask you if this changes how you view the pistons clearly it does
53:06Not it. No, I told you beforehand. I wasn't I wasn't sure about them. I love everything
53:10It reinforces what you thought it reinforces what I thought I love everything about the pistons
53:14I love their coaching staff. I love the way they play. I like the physicality. You got to knock down
53:18shots
53:19There it works like this you start knocking down shots and cave gets easy easy baskets at the rim
53:24They still pounded the glass
53:26They did what they wanted to do, but to not even get close and have this game at home. That's
53:30disappointing. They got to figure out their shooting lows. Yeah
53:33Still a chance we could see these two teams at the end of this thing
53:35No, not about it, but detroit they shoot 37 from the floor. You you you can't do that
53:39You just you're not gonna win a basketball game and I love jb bicker staff. I love the toughness of
53:43his team
53:44If they cannot figure out a way though to make out shots from 15 to 20 feet consistently
53:48They're not gonna beat anybody. They were open three hard. They shot 20 today. You can't do it like that
53:53They only take away duncan robinson. They need another guy

56:11Except the thing is he's bought in he's there to help this team win a championship period. That's the only
56:16reason he's there
56:17Not to win a scoring title not doing anything else. So he's fit in just absolutely tremendously
56:23And he's taking the burden off of donovan mitchell who doesn't have to handle the basketball as much
56:27He just gets to be an alpha two guard, which is great. They got dennis schruder. They brought in uh,
56:32keon ellis
56:33They've got some nice pieces. They've added this basketball team, but they're gonna have to go in
56:37They need to beat this next team mix beat them at the beginning of the season
56:40The next beat houston the other night have shown some dominance if the calves want to be a real part
56:45of the conversation a real part of the
56:46Conversation they did win this game
56:47And I think they will I mean james harden makes everyone on the court better and that's exactly what they
56:52needed
56:52You know donovan mitchell was having an unbelievable season. No one was knowing that because they were losing games
56:58But if you watch them right now, I think they have the best talent in the east
57:01It's just a matter of them continuing to be consistent. Yeah five and one since james harden has joined these
57:07cavaliers
57:07Look at the knicks. They've won 12 or last 15 since the end of january
57:12Is this a knicks team? I know people are hot on them then cold on them. How should we view
57:16the knicks coming out of the east ring?
57:18I don't love the knicks because I don't think they're great on the road
57:20One thing is when mitchell robinson's out there and in playing well. He makes a huge difference. He changes everything
57:27Jalen brunson gets more
57:28Attempts at the rim, you know, they get more offensive rebounds and then everyone starts to shoot better one thing
57:34about the knicks in this
57:34Little stretch that you mentioned their defense has risen up a notch
57:38Maybe it's time where people are starting to flip the switch and get ready for the postseason
57:41But their defense has been better of late
57:43Yeah, to me, it's going to be car car anthony towns, okay?
57:46We know jalen brunson's going to do his thing and with the limited amount of shots
57:50It's not as limited, but he doesn't get as many shots carl anthony does because of jalen
57:53Can he be impactful and when he is shooting the ball from three points shooting the back?
57:58He's the best shooting big guy in the league
58:00It puts so much pressure on that other team's big if he can be aggressive after that
58:04It's going to change the dynamic of this basketball team, but I haven't seen it consistently enough to think that
58:09the knicks are that team
58:11But I don't know if detroit's that team. I don't know who in the east is that team because I
58:15think whoever gets to the playoffs healthy
58:17Is going to have the best chance?
58:18Well, one of my one of my good buddies from the islands always says if you're not going to wear
58:21the seat belt get in the back seat

58:24This second half of the season is going to be fascinating. Yeah, the east is wide open. I would I
