A motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a traffic police officer who was conducting checks in the emergency lane at KM170.1 of the North-South (PLUS) Expressway (northbound) near Tangkak on Monday (Feb 23).

00:01A motorcyclist has died after colliding with a traffic police officer who was on duty in the emergency lane of
00:08the North-South Expressway.
00:09The collision occurred at around 2.07pm on Monday on the northbound stretch near Thangkak, Johor.
00:16A 38-year-old man riding a Suzuki DL650XA motorcycle collided with a traffic police officer who was conducting inspections
00:25in the emergency lane at the time.
00:27Thangkak Police Chief Superintendent Roslan Muhammad Talib confirmed that both the motorcyclist and the officer were rushed to Jasin Hospital
00:36following the collision.
00:38Tragically, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead while receiving treatment.
00:43The police officer survived but sustained injuries to his leg, arm and head and has since been transferred to Malacca
00:50Hospital for further treatment.
00:52The case is now being investigated under Section 41, Subsection 1 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
