00:00Venezuela commemorates seven years since the Battle of the Bridges, an attempted invasion by the United States and its allies
00:06against the Bolivarian nation on the Colombian-Venezuelan border.
00:09The date commemorates the attempt by the national far-right in alliance with the West to invade Venezuela under the
00:16pretext of delivering supposed humanitarian aid amidst the economic crisis that was plugging the country as a result of the
00:22U.S. blockade.
00:23On a date like this, but in 2019, shock groups and mercenaries paid by the opposition threw stones and Molotov
00:31cocktails and threatened the security forces and civil societies with guns.
00:35In response, the people themselves, with the support of the armed forces, taught a lesson in dignity and courage in
00:41defense of sovereignty.
00:49As part of this commemoration, Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López posted on his ex-social media account.
00:55In response to the events of February 23, 2019, presented as humanitarian aid but perceived by our people as an
01:03aggression, Venezuela responded with what has always been its greatest strength, unity in defense of peace.
01:09In the publication, Padrino López emphasized, this is how we have acted every time there has been an attempt to
01:16undermine its stability or sovereignty.
01:19Today, we reaffirm not only our peaceful vocation but also our unwavering commitment to independence and self-determination.
01:26In addition, the Defense Minister stated, we reiterate to the world that the only legitimate way to approach Venezuela is
01:33through respect, diplomacy and full recognition of its status as a sovereign state.
01:38Enough violence against our country.
01:40Happy start to the week, Venezuela.
