00:00The Antichrist ascends on the global stage.
00:02The world will be waiting to receive him.
00:05Hard to believe? Not really.
00:07For even now, if we had someone on the stage
00:10waiting to walk out and solve all of the issues
00:13that are going on in the war-torn nations of the world,
00:16if that person had a workable solution,
00:19do you think we would listen?
00:21Sure we would, so would everybody.
00:23And one day when things are way, way worse than they are today,
00:27such a person called the Antichrist will appear.
00:31First of all, we are told about his preparation.
00:36In Daniel, chapter 8, we read these words.
00:39In the latter time of their kingdom,
00:41when the transgressors have reached their fullness,
00:44a king will arise having fierce features,
00:49who understands sinister schemes.
00:52His power will be mighty,
00:54but not by his own power.
00:57He shall destroy fearfully and shall prosper and thrive.
01:01He shall destroy the mighty and also the holy people.
01:06At the beginning of this period of tribulation,
01:08an ominous personality will arise.
01:12Inconspicuously at first,
01:14the Bible says he comes up from among the masses.
01:18Revelation 13, 1 says,
01:31In the book of Revelation, wherever you see the word sea, S-E-A,
01:36it usually is not in reference to bodies of water,
01:39but rather large groups of human beings.
01:42That's where we get the term, the sea of humanity.
01:45When you see that word in the book of Revelation,
01:48it's a reference to the sea of humanity.
01:51So this antichrist arises out of the sea of humanity
01:56that is alive during this period of time.
01:59His preparation.
02:01Notice also his presentation.
02:04In 2 Thessalonians, chapter 2,
02:07we read this about the antichrist.
02:09Let no one deceive you by any means,
02:12for that day will not come
02:15unless the falling away comes first.
02:18And the man of sin,
02:20which is another name for the antichrist,
02:22is revealed, the son of perdition,
02:25who opposes and exalts himself above all
02:28that is called God or that is worshiped,
02:30so that he sits as God in the temple of God,
02:36showing himself that he is God.
02:41For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work.
02:44Only he who now restrains will do so
02:47till he's taken out of the way,
02:49and then the lawless one will be revealed.
02:53Now, when Paul wrote to the Thessalonian churches,
02:56he gave us some important information.
02:59He said that the seven-year tribulation period
03:02during which the antichrist will be revealed
03:04cannot happen until there is a falling away.
03:09Now, the word falling away
03:11appears only twice in the New Testament.
03:13In the other place, it's translated by the word forsaking.
03:17What Paul is saying is that
03:19before the tribulation period happens,
03:21there will be a forsaking of the traditional beliefs
03:25of the faith,
03:27that there will be a large moving away
03:29from what some people call religion,
03:33what we would call the faith.
03:36Before Jesus Christ comes back,
03:38there will be a major falling away from the faith.
03:42It is only after the rapture, during the tribulation,
03:45that there is a great revival
03:47because of the two witnesses and the 144,000.
03:51In his Olivet Discourse, Jesus talked about this.
03:55Here's what he said,
03:55Then many will be offended and will betray one another
03:59and will hate one another.
04:01And many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.
04:04And because lawless will abound,
04:07the love of many will grow cold.
04:11Now, the Bible also says that before this event
04:13called the tribulation can happen
04:15and the rapture which precedes it,
04:17there's one other thing that has to take place.
04:19The Bible says that the Antichrist cannot come
04:23until the Restrainer is removed.
04:26That's what it says in the Thessalonian passage
04:28we read a few moments ago.
04:29Now, who is the Restrainer?
04:31Well, the Restrainer is none other than the Holy Spirit.
04:34He's the one who lives within each of us.
04:37The Bible says one day the Restrainer is going to be removed.
04:41When will that happen?
04:42Well, when we leave, the Restrainer leaves
04:45because he lives in us.
04:46The indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit
04:50will be taken from this earth
04:51when the rapture of the church occurs.
04:55When the Restrainer is removed
04:57and the lawlessness and apostasy happens,
05:00then this one called the Antichrist will be revealed.
05:04Could the Antichrist be alive somewhere today?
05:08Absolutely.
05:09He could be growing up someplace right now,
05:11probably in Europe,
05:13and in his preparation for that moment
05:15when he will walk out on the stage.
05:18Now, what is this guy like?
05:20What is the Antichrist like?
05:21Well, the Bible, while I've said doesn't tell us who he is,
05:24it tells us a lot about him.
05:25First of all, his personality.
05:27Revelation 13, 5, if you still have your Bibles open there
05:30or look on the screen,
05:31we are told that he was given a mouth,
05:34speaking great things and blasphemies.
05:37Daniel says that he will be boastful
05:41and will speak pompous words against the Most High.
05:44Now, take all of those phrases and put them all together
05:47and shake them up, and what comes out is,
05:49he will be an incredibly gifted speaker.
05:54The Bible tells us also that he will be very attractive.
05:58Daniel says in Daniel 7, 20,
06:00that his appearance was greater than his fellows.
06:03In other words, he was impressive.
06:06You ever been in the presence of an impressive person?
06:10You just walk into their presence
06:12and, you know, something happens.
06:14They walk into a room and everything changes.
06:16I believe he will be extraordinarily handsome.
06:20I think he's probably going to be very tall.
06:22The Bible says he's also going to be a man of great intellect.
06:26Daniel describes him as somebody who understands sinister schemes
06:31and through his cunning shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule.
06:36This is going to be some kind of an impressive guy.
06:40We wonder how in the world such a thing could happen, but it will.
06:44And he will be just what this old, sinful, God-rejecting world will be looking for.
06:52Someone to make the pain go away and give them some hope.
06:58Now he has a plan.
06:59His plan is, according to Daniel, to come in peaceably and seize the kingdom by intrigue.
07:09Very perceptive terms.
07:12The Antichrist will begin as one of many minor political leaders.
07:18Tracked very little attention at first, but gradually grasping more and more power.
07:24His plan is to defeat all of the other world leaders and eventually take over the world,
07:29through whatever means is necessary, first by deceit and intrigue, and later by force.
07:37And he will be very prideful.
07:38The Bible tells us that he opens his mouth in blasphemy against God,
07:43to blaspheme his name and his tabernacle and those who dwell in heaven.
07:47Once he has the ear of the people and they begin to talk about all of the missing folks
07:52who are gone to heaven, the Antichrist will take the opportunity to blast heaven with
07:58his words.
07:59Not only blasting God, but blasting his law and his love and his plan and his family and
08:06his son.
08:07He will just pour out his wrath against the God of heaven.
08:10That's what the Bible says.
08:12Now, he will use his cunning to form a peace treaty.
08:16Daniel 9.27 says, he will confirm a covenant with many for one week.
08:22Let me just tell you that in the book of Daniel, the word week here is a week of years,
08:27not
08:27a week of days.
08:28This is a week of years, seven years.
08:32The Antichrist will come to the people in Israel surrounded by their Islamic enemies and
08:37say, I can fix this.
08:38If you will trust me, I will make a peace treaty with you to protect you from all of the
08:43enemies
08:43around you.
08:44This is a seven-year treaty.
08:47Because of the treaty, Israel will once again feel like they can relax.
08:52Unfortunately, they will let down their military readiness.
08:56They will turn all of their energy into building up their cultural improvements.
09:00They will refurbish and rebuild the Jewish temple.
09:04But the Bible says halfway through the seven-year treaty, Daniel 9.27 says it this way, in the
09:12middle of the week, if a week is seven years, how long is the middle of the week?
09:16Three and a half.
09:18He will bring an end to sacrifice and offering, and on the wing of abomination be the one who
09:24makes desolate.
09:24In other words, right in the middle of the tribulation when Israel has let down its guard,
09:29the Antichrist will come in and he will go into the temple, as we've seen in a few moments,
09:33he will defile the temple and he will cause the Israelis no longer to be allowed to worship.
09:38He will cause sacrifice and offerings to cease.
09:43And then in verse 7, we are told about his persecution.
09:48It was granted to the Antichrist to make war with the saints and to overcome them, and
09:54authority was given him over every tribe and tongue and nation.
09:57Remember, we talked about how he gained control over them through his licensing approach.
10:04When the peace treaty with Israel is broken, all hell will break loose on this earth, and
10:09this will usher in the last half of the tribulation normally referred to as the Great Tribulation.
10:14Daniel describes it this way, I was watching, and the same horn was making war against the
10:20saints and prevailing against them.
10:22And in 824, he said, he shall destroy fearfully, shall prosper and thrive.
10:28He shall destroy the mighty and all the holy people.
10:33The Bible tells us that at this particular time, everything on this earth will be as bad
10:39as you can ever imagine.
10:41Massive beheadings will be nothing compared to the torture and persecution and the hateful
10:48conduct of these emissaries of Satan.
10:51And how do they do this?
10:54The Bible tells us about his power.
10:56In 2 Thessalonians 2, 9, we are told,
10:59The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power and
11:06signs and lying wonders.
11:09Powers, signs, and wonders are all words which we ascribe to Jesus.
11:15But here we are told these are powers, signs, and lying wonders.
11:20In other words, they're not really wonders, they just appear to be.
11:23They're deceitful wonders.
11:25The Antichrist's deception will be so sweeping that people will be unable to believe the truth.
11:31Then the Antichrist will enact his most sensational feat.
11:36It will appear that he has been killed.
11:38And then, to the astonishment of the whole world, he will be raised back to life by the
11:42power of Satan, in a grotesque counterfeit of the resurrection.
11:49Revelation 13, 3 says,
11:51I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed.
11:57And all the world marveled and followed the beast.
11:59Please notice the careful wording of the Scripture.
12:01It does not say, I saw one of his heads mortally wounded.
12:06It says, I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded.
12:12So he deceives the world into believing that he has been killed and then comes back to life.
12:19Satan is the great deceiver, but I want to tell you something.
12:23He cannot create life.
12:24He cannot create anything new.
12:26So this is not a genuine resurrection.
12:29It is a faked resurrection.
12:34And the Antichrist is so profane.
12:37The Bible tells us in verse 4 of Revelation,
12:39they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast,
12:42and they worshiped the beast, saying,
12:44who is like the beast who is able to make war with him?
12:48When the Antichrist breaks his treaty with Israel,
12:51he will surround Jerusalem with his troops.
12:53He will seize the newly constructed temple.
12:56And then, as one last mockery of God,
12:59Satan will install the Antichrist as a god in the temple of Israel.
13:05At that point, we are told,
13:07all who dwell on the earth will worship him,
13:10whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb
13:14slain from the foundation of the world.
13:16And the false prophet, his associate,
13:18will erect an animated image of the Antichrist
13:22in the Jewish temple and enable this animated image to speak.
13:27He will command the world to worship the image ultimately fulfilling Daniel's prophecy.
13:33When you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet, says Mark,
13:40standing where it ought not, let the reader understand and let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
13:46I don't know if you're getting this picture, but this one, this Antichrist,
13:50will orchestrate the things of the world until ultimately he is placed in the throne room of the Jewish temple,
13:56and the whole world is required to bow down to him and worship him as if he were the true
14:03God of the universe.
14:05And those who refuse will be executed.
14:09Now that's the story in so many words that is a tutorial on the Antichrist.
14:14What's going to happen during the tribulation when one man rules the world?
14:20So what happens to this guy?
14:22How does it all end?
14:23What is a deserving ending for someone who deceives the whole world into such evil?
14:32What should become of him?
14:36Well, his punishment, according to Daniel 8, 25, is defeat, total and absolute defeat.
14:44At the end of the tribulation period, with all of his armies gathered,
14:48he is told that the army of Christ is in heaven and on his way to the earth.
14:53And he assembles all of his armies together to fight against Jesus Christ and the second coming.
15:00We're told Christ is riding on a white horse and all of us who are followers of Christ with the
15:05angels will be observing this event.
15:08Now, what does Jesus do to defeat this evil man?
15:11Well, Daniel says, he shall rise against the prince of princes, but he shall be broken without any human means.
15:19That's a clear statement that no humanity is going to be involved in the destruction of the Antichrist.
15:25He's coming against Jesus with his armies.
15:27Here comes Jesus on his white horse.
15:29And John tells us what happens.
15:31I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against him
15:38who sat on the horse and against his army.
15:42And when the beast comes face to face with Christ, he will meet a swift end.
15:47Paul wrote to the Thessalonians,
15:49The lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will consume with the breath of his mouth and with the
15:58brightness of his coming.
16:00Do you know how hard it's going to be for the Lord Jesus Christ to deal with the Antichrist?
16:04Watch this.
16:15That's it.
16:17Now, he is destroyed, he is defeated, but he is not dead.
16:23Revelation 19, 20, the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet, who worked signs in his presence, by
16:31which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshipped his name.
16:35And the two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.
16:44Did you know that the beast, the false prophet, and the Antichrist are going to be the two first inhabitants
16:50in the lake of fire?
16:52You say, well, don't people go to hell now if they don't believe in God?
16:55They go to Hades or to Sheol.
16:57Sheol, one day the Bible says death and hell will be cast into the lake of fire, but not until
17:03later.
17:04But right now, in the lake of fire, there is an awaiting for this moment when at the end of
17:10this time we've talked about today,
17:12the beast, Antichrist, and the false prophet will be cast into the lake of fire forever.
17:19Now, fast forward 1,000 years.
17:231,000 years after their incarceration in the lake of fire, we are now at the end of the millennium,
17:30the kingdom time.
17:31The beast and the false prophet will still be alive and in torment.
17:37Here's what we read in Revelation 20, 10.
17:40The devil who deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false
17:48prophet are.
17:50And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
17:55And the Bible says that all those who ultimately reject Christ will one day join them in this place of
18:03torment.
18:05Now, guys, I got to tell you, a lot of people are okay until I get to this point.
18:10But don't be telling me about this place called hell where people are going to be tormented forever and ever.
18:15And I don't like the brimstone and fire thing either.
18:18So, just don't go there.
18:21Well, I'm not going to tell you anything that I don't know from the Scripture.
18:25And I know what the Bible says about hell.
18:28Where their worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched.
18:32Here's what I can tell you after all my research about this.
18:35Here's what I can tell you about this place.
18:36Are you ready?
18:37You don't want to go there.
18:40You don't want to go there.
18:42And you don't have to go there.
18:44The only way you can do that is by placing your faith in Jesus Christ.
18:49By saying, Lord Jesus, I do believe that you are the Savior of the world and I want you to
18:54be my Savior.
18:55And I invite you into my heart and I ask you to forgive my sin and I confess that you
19:02are my Savior.
19:04When you make that decision, you get on the invite list to go up to heaven when Jesus comes back.
