00:00:00First of all, most people, sad to say in Christianity, most people, most Christians, most seminaries or churches don't teach
00:00:08or touch on biblical prophecy.
00:00:11And I understand that to a point. It takes a lot of work, it takes a lot of time, and
00:00:17it requires the most prerequisite thing of all,
00:00:24and that is, you'll never understand what biblical prophecy is unless you read the entire Bible.
00:00:28And a lot of people, I don't even trust polls, you know, they take polls and they say, so many
00:00:35Christians have never read through the Bible.
00:00:37I don't even believe those answers, because if Christians are not reading through their Bible, then they can lie about
00:00:43the poll.
00:00:44Does that make sense? 40% of Christians say they read all the way through the Bible. I bet you
00:00:51the number is less than that.
00:00:54That said, you'll never understand, and it's indicative of our age, where ministries do not get into looking at what
00:01:00the Bible says about the future,
00:01:02because they've not studied the incredible, beautiful reliability of biblical prophecy.
00:01:09It's not as Dr. Ed Heinsen. You know, I miss him. He went to heaven. He got out of here.
00:01:18But he would often come and speak here, dean of education at Liberty University, and tremendous author.
00:01:26By the way, if you want to buy great books, buy anything that Dr. Ed Heinsen has written, and you'll
00:01:31do fine.
00:01:32But that said, he's the guy that said this, and then everybody else steals it from him,
00:01:39that God did not give us Bible prophecy to scare us, but to prepare us.
00:01:47And that's a beautiful thing.
00:01:48And so, we just want to look at that tonight.
00:01:53But I got to tell you up front, I had mentioned to you last week that we were going to
00:01:57be bringing current updates
00:02:00into the message that was last week.
00:02:05Boy, yeah, this week, I'm glad we had the delay.
00:02:12Even though some of the things that we need to look at in light of what's happened since you and
00:02:19I met last week
00:02:20in our nation and in the world is somewhat unnerving,
00:02:24we've got to look at everything through a biblical worldview lens.
00:02:28Right? Think about that.
00:02:30I don't know what kind of sunglasses you like.
00:02:32Some people like gray ones, the gray lens, or the amber lens, or the rose lens,
00:02:39but everybody has their preference.
00:02:42Well, imagine putting on glasses that are lined with the filter or filtration of biblical prophecy.
00:02:51That whatever's going on in your world, our world, that there's a filter.
00:03:00That begins to parse and set aside these things into compartments.
00:03:05You and I as Christians should be living our lives like that as believers.
00:03:08We should not be whimsical and running around crazy, upset, or nervous about this or that.
00:03:15Why? Because we know that the God that we were just singing about,
00:03:20do we really mean it?
00:03:22These songs that we were singing, do we really mean them?
00:03:25If we really mean them, then we're going to obey him, and we are going to know him.
00:03:31And it's going to really make a difference in our lives.
00:03:34Because as the world continues to go down the course that it's on,
00:03:38people are going to become more terrified.
00:03:40But that's where you and I come in.
00:03:43You are going to become a powerful witness for the gospel of Jesus Christ,
00:03:49which, by the way, we sang about it tonight,
00:03:52Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross.
00:03:55That wasn't an accident.
00:03:57Listen, that wasn't things getting out of hand.
00:04:01Jesus did not get himself killed.
00:04:04Jesus Christ fulfilled the ancient prophecies
00:04:09of going to the cross, God incarnate, God in human flesh.
00:04:14Listen, our sins were so hideous and impossible to be forgiven
00:04:20that it took God coming into this world and becoming one of us,
00:04:25living the perfect life that he did
00:04:28to go to the cross as the perfect sacrifice that he was
00:04:32so that you and I can be so, so very saved
00:04:37and so very forgiven
00:04:39because the price that was paid for our debt
00:04:43was so overwhelmingly perfect
00:04:45that the Bible tells us it met all the demands
00:04:49of the righteousness of God
00:04:51that is now found in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
00:04:54And on the third, yes, you can thank him for that.
00:04:57And on the third day, Jesus Christ rose again from the dead.
00:05:01And I love that because the grave could not hold him.
00:05:05We were just singing.
00:05:06Why?
00:05:07You know, be a theologian all the time
00:05:09or a five-year-old.
00:05:11They're the similar thing.
00:05:12Because a good theologian will always ask questions.
00:05:15How come?
00:05:15Why?
00:05:16Because it's not an answer.
00:05:18You can't turn to your five-year-old and say,
00:05:20because that's not an answer.
00:05:22You got to give them the answer.
00:05:24And a good theologian, which you are,
00:05:26is why is it,
00:05:30on what basis was the grave unable to keep Jesus bound?
00:05:34That's a good question.
00:05:37Why was the grave unable to hold Jesus' body in the tomb?
00:05:45Because death had no power over him.
00:05:48Because, listen, sin gives power to death.
00:05:53Death comes in where sin is.
00:05:57In fact, the book of Romans tells us
00:05:58there was no death in the world
00:06:01until sin entered the world.
00:06:05But Jesus, the Bible says, never sinned.
00:06:08So imagine for a moment.
00:06:09Imagine this is the body of Jesus laying in the tomb.
00:06:13The body.
00:06:15And death, I'm death.
00:06:17Imagine that I'm death
00:06:18and I'm coming to his body.
00:06:20And with my arrival
00:06:22comes decay,
00:06:27rot,
00:06:31destruction.
00:06:32And so death comes to the body of Jesus Christ.
00:06:36Though he was 100% man,
00:06:39he was 100% God.
00:06:41And so death was looking around
00:06:44and looking for a crack.
00:06:46Looking for a place to enter in.
00:06:49Imagine,
00:06:50death examines the offering of Jesus Christ.
00:06:54And death can't find anything.
00:06:56There's no crack.
00:07:00There's no entrance.
00:07:02And death needs an entrance
00:07:05to grab on,
00:07:06to hold
00:07:08you in that state of death.
00:07:10But until Christ came,
00:07:12the grave always won.
00:07:15But he did come.
00:07:17And the fact that Christ
00:07:19and his offering on the cross
00:07:21was acceptable to the Father,
00:07:23the Bible says,
00:07:24because there was no sin in him,
00:07:26his offering pleased the Father.
00:07:28And on the third day,
00:07:30the power of the Holy Spirit
00:07:31raised Christ from the dead.
00:07:33Amen.
00:07:37I want you to remember that.
00:07:38That's probably the most important thing
00:07:40that I'll say tonight,
00:07:41and I mean it.
00:07:43There's no greater news than that.
00:07:45In all that our world
00:07:46is going to encounter
00:07:48at whatever time only God knows,
00:07:51just know this,
00:07:52that you and I as a believer,
00:07:53we have been ordained by God
00:07:55to be living at a time like this.
00:07:56It's not an accident
00:07:57that you're a Christian right now.
00:08:00Young people tonight,
00:08:01I want you to really take that to heart.
00:08:02You're not an accident.
00:08:04Your timing's not an accident.
00:08:07Your station in life
00:08:08is not an accident.
00:08:10And all the stuff around you
00:08:11is not going to victimize you.
00:08:13All that stuff that's going on
00:08:14against your life
00:08:15is going to prepare you
00:08:16because God's got
00:08:17a tremendous work for you to do.
00:08:20And a great mission,
00:08:22and that is of course
00:08:23living out the gospel.
00:08:26So last time,
00:08:27and it applies tonight,
00:08:28we're looking at
00:08:29the challenging question,
00:08:30are you ready for what's next?
00:08:32And I want to put this quote up,
00:08:36but I guess we should always start
00:08:37with the theme verse of it all.
00:08:39It's beautifully comforting.
00:08:40It's so profound.
00:08:41One little verse,
00:08:42so theologically powerful.
00:08:45John 14, verse 29
00:08:46is the theme to our Applied series.
00:08:48Jesus said,
00:08:49and now I have told you
00:08:50before it comes.
00:08:52Think on that for a moment.
00:08:54I'm going to tell you the future
00:08:55before it happens.
00:08:58That's what Jesus said.
00:09:00If you're a doubter,
00:09:01atheist, skeptic,
00:09:02agnostic,
00:09:04agnostic,
00:09:05you've got to stop right now
00:09:06and you've got to wrestle with that.
00:09:08You've got to wrestle
00:09:09with that statement
00:09:10and at that comma,
00:09:11you've got to pause.
00:09:12And Jesus said it,
00:09:13so it's up to you
00:09:14to disprove him wrong.
00:09:17Jesus said it.
00:09:18You ought to challenge him
00:09:19to see what he said was true.
00:09:22That's quite a statement.
00:09:23You've got to admit, everybody.
00:09:24Come on.
00:09:25Quite a statement.
00:09:26I have told you
00:09:27before it comes.
00:09:29For what reason?
00:09:30Why?
00:09:30That when it does come to pass,
00:09:33here's the point.
00:09:34You may believe.
00:09:37Bible prophecy.
00:09:39If Bible prophecy has a foundation,
00:09:42this is one of those key statements,
00:09:44if not the key statement.
00:09:46So I want to read you this quote
00:09:49on the screen right now.
00:09:50Now, the Bible,
00:09:50like no other writings
00:09:52in all of human history,
00:09:53has the unparalleled ability
00:09:55to predict the future in advance.
00:09:58The reason for this
00:09:59is due to the nature of God,
00:10:01who is transcendent
00:10:02over all time, space, and matter.
00:10:05He, being the uncreated creator,
00:10:08ooh, I like that,
00:10:11is not subject to the limitations
00:10:13of his creation as we are.
00:10:16In other words,
00:10:17well, who created God?
00:10:20Oh, let us be the first
00:10:21to introduce you to
00:10:22the uncreated creator.
00:10:26Because everything in creation
00:10:28must be subject to
00:10:29space, time, and matter.
00:10:32God, who is spirit, is not.
00:10:35He's outside of that domain.
00:10:37He created it.
00:10:38Listen, who's more powerful?
00:10:40A Mercedes-Benz car
00:10:43or Mr. Mercedes and Mr. Benz?
00:10:46It's Mr. Mercedes and Mr. Benz.
00:10:49Because why?
00:10:51They can create another one
00:10:52and another one.
00:10:54The car is less than the creator.
00:10:59And God is greater than his creation.
00:11:03And his creation's amazing.
00:11:05He has fallen as it is.
00:11:06It is amazing.
00:11:07Isaiah chapter 42, verse 9 says,
00:11:09Behold, the former things
00:11:10have come to pass
00:11:11and new things I declare
00:11:13before they spring forth
00:11:14I tell you of them.
00:11:17Now, that's a beautiful statement.
00:11:20I think the law
00:11:20of biblical interpretation
00:11:22is known as expositional constancy.
00:11:24Meaning, John 14, 29
00:11:27and Isaiah 42, verse 9
00:11:29say the same thing,
00:11:31though they be a thousand years apart.
00:11:33Are you hearing me?
00:11:34It's amazing.
00:11:35Are you guys okay?
00:11:372 Peter chapter 1, verse 9.
00:11:402 Peter chapter 1, sorry, verse 19.
00:11:432 Peter 1, verse 19.
00:11:45This is Peter speaking
00:11:47and it's so powerful.
00:11:49And so he says,
00:11:50we have the prophetic word confirmed.
00:11:55So how do you have a prophetic word confirmed?
00:11:58Which you do well to heed
00:12:00as a light that shines in a dark place.
00:12:02In fact, you can use it like a flashlight.
00:12:05Until the day dawns
00:12:06and the morning star rises in your hearts.
00:12:10Knowing this verse
00:12:11that no prophecy of scripture
00:12:12is of any private interpretation.
00:12:16In other words,
00:12:17you can't make that cult up on your own.
00:12:20You can't do that.
00:12:21I mean, you're gonna do it.
00:12:22But you're just,
00:12:23you're actually sinning against scripture
00:12:25because you cannot make stuff up
00:12:27and say,
00:12:27well, the Bible says this.
00:12:29No, it doesn't.
00:12:29The Bible says
00:12:31you cannot make up
00:12:32private interpretations of things.
00:12:35In other words,
00:12:36let the Bible comment on the Bible.
00:12:37For prophecy never came by the will of man,
00:12:40but holy men of God spoke
00:12:42as they were moved
00:12:44by the Holy Spirit.
00:12:47That's the work of God
00:12:48in our lives.
00:12:49So,
00:12:50we have to remember that
00:12:51as we look through
00:12:52and consider the things
00:12:54that we're talking about tonight.
00:12:56One more thing
00:12:57because it's comforting.
00:12:59Isaiah chapter 46
00:13:00verses 9 and 10.
00:13:02God says,
00:13:03remember the former things of old.
00:13:06So,
00:13:06go back and think about
00:13:07the things that have happened
00:13:10that you can remember.
00:13:11God says there,
00:13:12for I am God
00:13:13and there is
00:13:14no
00:13:16other.
00:13:17Is there anybody
00:13:18knocking on the door
00:13:19of your house
00:13:20telling you
00:13:21that there's other gods
00:13:22on other planets
00:13:23and other places
00:13:24and if you're a good boy or girl,
00:13:26you can become a God too?
00:13:28Does it sound familiar?
00:13:31That's the doctrine
00:13:32that Satan used
00:13:32in the Garden of Eden.
00:13:37No,
00:13:37there's only one God
00:13:38and you're not him
00:13:40and I'm not him.
00:13:43He says,
00:13:44there's no other.
00:13:44I am God
00:13:45and there is none like me.
00:13:47Notice his proof.
00:13:48This is what he says.
00:13:49This is his argumentation.
00:13:51You would have thought
00:13:52that he would say,
00:13:53and I'm going to save
00:13:54all mankind.
00:13:56That's true
00:13:57but he didn't say that.
00:13:59He said,
00:14:00this is how you'll know
00:14:00I'm the true God.
00:14:02Declaring the end
00:14:03from the beginning
00:14:04and from ancient times
00:14:07things that are not yet done.
00:14:10Wow.
00:14:11Saying,
00:14:12my counsel shall stand
00:14:13and I will do
00:14:15all my pleasure.
00:14:17That's the great word of God.
00:14:20And so,
00:14:22I'm just going to ask you tonight
00:14:25to underscore
00:14:26and stress the matter.
00:14:27In my notes,
00:14:28I've written down
00:14:29on page two
00:14:31that we need to probably
00:14:33pay attention
00:14:34to the date
00:14:35of today.
00:14:36This is Wednesday,
00:14:37July 22nd
00:14:39of this year.
00:14:40We might want to mark
00:14:41that down in our minds.
00:14:42And by the way,
00:14:43you can get the notes

00:14:45and have all of them

00:14:59250th birthday year.
00:15:02And that being the case,
00:15:03it's a year of celebration.
00:15:07And I know that there's been
00:15:08a lot of programming,
00:15:09there's a lot of books,
00:15:10there's a lot of documentaries.
00:15:12And still this year,
00:15:13there's going to be
00:15:13more and more things
00:15:15as our nation celebrates.
00:15:16And so that's wonderful
00:15:17and that's great.
00:15:19But what I want to make sure
00:15:21that we throw out there
00:15:22is that we don't forget God
00:15:25in the midst of our celebration.
00:15:28One thing I would like
00:15:29to hear more about
00:15:30our 250th birthday
00:15:31as a nation
00:15:32is that we are
00:15:33a very, very thankful people.
00:15:36One of the reasons why
00:15:38is because we are
00:15:39a very blessed people.
00:15:42We probably have
00:15:43more than one
00:15:44or two pairs of shoes.
00:15:46We probably have
00:15:47more than one
00:15:48or two shirts
00:15:49or pants.
00:15:50Are you hearing me?
00:15:52You probably came here tonight
00:15:53in some form
00:15:54of mechanized
00:15:55or motor vehicle
00:15:57of some type.
00:15:58And if you walked here tonight,
00:15:59maybe it's because
00:16:00you wanted to.
00:16:01If you go to bed
00:16:02hungry tonight,
00:16:03it's probably because
00:16:04you can choose
00:16:05to go to bed hungry tonight.
00:16:07We are the most blessed
00:16:08people on the planet.
00:16:11But my argument tonight
00:16:12is this regarding
00:16:13Bible prophecy
00:16:14and you'll see why
00:16:15in a moment.
00:16:16We should be the most
00:16:17thankful people
00:16:17on the planet.
00:16:19And unfortunately,
00:16:20I think in many ways
00:16:21because we have
00:16:23misplaced God
00:16:24in all of our
00:16:24affluence
00:16:25is that we've
00:16:26become sometimes
00:16:27the most disgruntled
00:16:28or the most
00:16:30complaining people.
00:16:32Like Goldilocks.
00:16:33She should have been
00:16:34happy that she had
00:16:35some porridge
00:16:35but she was upset
00:16:37because it wasn't
00:16:38the temperature
00:16:39of her liking
00:16:40or the bed
00:16:42or the whatever else
00:16:43the thing goes.
00:16:44I don't even remember.
00:16:45So you say,
00:16:46Jack, I don't know
00:16:47if I like that tone.
00:16:49I'm not saying
00:16:49you're unthankful.
00:16:51I'm talking about us
00:16:52as a nation
00:16:54because it matters.
00:16:56So church,

00:33:58look at the current
00:34:01events because on the
00:34:03scene, on the, on the
00:34:05horizon of what is
00:34:06known as biblical
00:34:07eschatology, people will
00:34:09ask the question,
00:34:10biblically speaking, what
00:34:11could happen next in this
00:34:14world?
00:34:15Apart from the rapture of
00:34:16the church, what could
00:34:17happen next?
00:34:18Well, there's two things
00:34:20that could happen biblically
00:34:22clearly from the Bible.
00:34:24Two things that could
00:34:25happen are very, very
00:34:27clear.
00:34:28One, we're not going to
00:34:29get into, but that's
00:34:30Isaiah 17.
00:34:34Ezekiel 38, the second
00:34:35thing, we will get into.
00:34:37But Isaiah 17 has not yet
00:34:40been fulfilled either and
00:34:41how do we know that?
00:34:42Because it says that in
00:34:44Syria, Damascus, there will
00:34:47be a fire that begins in
00:34:50its wall and it will be
00:34:53completely obliterated so
00:34:55much so that no one will
00:34:57ever be able to live there
00:34:58again.
00:35:00Well, guess what?
00:35:01People live there right
00:35:02now.
00:35:03People have always lived
00:35:05there.
00:35:05Damascus, in fact, is one
00:35:07of the most longest, one
00:35:09of, it's in the category of
00:35:11a handful of cities or
00:35:13areas that have been the
00:35:15longest on earth inhabited.
00:35:18You've got to remember,
00:35:19you're going back to the
00:35:21regions of what is known as
00:35:22the Fertile Crescent or the
00:35:24Cradle of Civilization era
00:35:27back in that time.
00:35:29So I'm going to go through
00:35:30this stuff just systematically
00:35:32now.
00:35:32So it might be boring to you.
00:35:34I hope not.
00:35:36But if you're taking notes,

00:35:39And so, guys, I'm going to
00:35:42point out those three things.
00:35:44So at this time right now,
00:35:45the Middle East is the
00:35:46epicenter of world news,
00:35:49obviously.
00:35:50And with what's happening
00:35:52right now in the world
00:35:54around us, the United
00:35:58States with Israel, now
00:36:02it's really, honestly, the
00:36:03United States.
00:36:04I can tell you about that
00:36:05in a second.
00:36:06On Saturday, February 28th,
00:36:082026, five months ago, the
00:36:10United States launched Epic
00:36:12Fury.
00:36:13And you guys know all about
00:36:15that.
00:36:19And so we're five months
00:36:20down the road, and things
00:36:23have not stopped, have
00:36:25they?
00:36:29But guys, back up.
00:36:30Can you back up to those
00:36:31three things?
00:36:32That said, we're five months
00:36:35into it, the United States,
00:36:36and you may or may not be
00:36:39aware that the U.S. has had
00:36:42a very heavy hand on the
00:36:45nation of Israel.
00:36:48Now, I know that what I'm
00:36:49saying right here will go
00:36:50around the world, and it's
00:36:51going to get it in the hands
00:36:53of people.

00:37:02whatever it took to keep
00:37:05itself in existence.
00:37:07Because, you know, they kind
00:37:09of have some proof evidence
00:37:11of the world trying to
00:37:12exterminate them over the
00:37:14course of human history.
00:37:15It's not like they're
00:37:16making it up.
00:37:17You can ask the Egyptian
00:37:19Empire, Babylonian Empire,
00:37:22Medo-Persian Empire, and on
00:37:24and on it goes to the Third
00:37:26Reich, to Hezbollah, Hamas,
00:37:29and the Islamic agenda that
00:37:31is Islam.
00:37:33The Jews have got to go.
00:37:36So, and if you spend your
00:37:39time shouting, death to
00:37:40Israel, killed the Jews, if
00:37:44they start to believe you, you
00:37:47know, it's war.
00:37:50But the United States has
00:37:52been holding Israel back from
00:37:54doing what it wants to do, and
00:37:57I'm sure there are, in
00:37:59argument-wise, good reasons
00:38:01for this from our perspective,
00:38:03but Israel has been, you
00:38:06haven't hardly heard
00:38:07anything.
00:38:07In fact, Iran hasn't even
00:38:09been hitting Israel for the
00:38:10longest time.
00:38:12What's going on?
00:38:14Number one, we know that
00:38:17when Israel's at war, we
00:38:18know that whatever Israel
00:38:20does, it does swiftly and
00:38:21effectively.
00:38:22There's a reason for this,
00:38:24because Israel is so
00:38:25limited, it cannot prosecute
00:38:28what is called an extended
00:38:29war.
00:38:29Do you understand that?
00:38:30They can't war very long.
00:38:32They don't have the space,
00:38:33they don't have the
00:38:34resources.
00:38:35What they do, they do big,
00:38:37because they cannot do it
00:38:39long.
00:38:39Make sense?
00:38:40This is important.
00:38:43Number two, the rate at
00:38:44which the U.S. is expending
00:38:46its arsenal is a concern in
00:38:49longevity.
00:38:50Right now, as of tonight, the
00:38:53United States, by having
00:38:56Israel stand down, the
00:38:57United States has been going
00:38:58forward, and we were really
00:39:01laying it out there, big,
00:39:03strong, and hard.

01:12:23Father,
01:12:24there's no greater hope
01:12:25than the gospel.
01:12:26Father,
01:12:27may that reality
01:12:28flood our hearts
01:12:28in our lives.
01:12:29When all that's going on
01:12:31in the world around us,
01:12:32we know so little.
01:12:34We thank you
01:12:35that you know everything.
01:12:37And Father,
01:12:37we know that you'll never fail
