00:00:15your man. He'll source it all for you. Great to have you on board. Thank you to so many of
00:00:21you
00:00:21who hit the subscribe button on our channel and join the PLZ family. We are indeed delighted.
00:00:27The BME headlines. Basically, Kasper Schmeichel booed a Celtic lose to Stuttgart. 7,500 away
00:00:35fans are all set for Celtics Cup tie against Rangers. John Suter extends his stay at Ibrox
00:00:40and Jens Berthel-Ascow wants full-time referees in Scotland. Will it make a blind bit of difference?
00:00:46Probably by about 6 o'clock tonight. Some people will be arguing because by that time Willie
00:00:51Colum will have released the video on some of the big contentious VAR decisions. We'll
00:00:57be talking about them and getting Tam and Ruffy's thoughts on VAR right across Europe and of
00:01:04course here is it ruining the domestic game. It's an ongoing thing that never goes away
00:01:10for us. Okay, what about the quiz sponsored by Elite Joinery and Fire Protection? This is
00:01:16a good one after Anthony Gordon scored four goals for Newcastle in a European game. Which
00:01:22former Rangers player scored four goals in a Champions League match? There's a belter, eh, Ruffy?
00:01:28Champions League, not European Cup. Well, Champions League or European Cup.
00:01:35Is it European Cup? It's Champions League.
00:01:37Champions League, right. Okay. You on that, Tam? Do you know it?
00:01:42No, I'll have a think about it. What? I'm a Scooby. Okay, well. I've got time to think
00:01:47about it. Absolutely. I'll give you the answer at the end of the programme if you can't actually
00:01:51come up with it. If you have a clue on it, then don't forget to put it in our feed
00:01:57as
00:01:57well. It's a good one. Thanks very much to so many of you. Thanks to Dublin Boy who's
00:02:02joined us from the Emerald Isle. Nice to have you on board. There are so many people that like
00:02:07to join us, Paul Brady, Anne Wood as well, Paul as well and Les Hanley. Great to have
00:02:13you on board as we get ready to discuss the weekend's matches. But before we do that, we're
00:02:19going back the way to Celtic Park. Before the game got going in any great gusto, there
00:02:26was tennis balls thrown on because Celtic fans clearly not happy with the board. There's
00:02:31a certain amount of unrest that the Green Brigade are still locked out as well. And that was before
00:02:37Celtic lost 4-1, Ravi. What did you make of it? Martin Anil in his 1,000th game in charge
00:02:42didn't quite go the way he wanted it to, but he was quite critical of this continued unrest
00:02:48with supporters. Yeah, you can see why. You want to go into a football game as a player
00:02:54and a manager to concentrate 100% on what's in front of you and the disruptiveness of all
00:03:00that going along. If we're talking about the football, we're totally outclassed. There's
00:03:06no doubt about that. We're not. We're talking about the fact that they're throwing
00:03:08tennis balls on and stopped the game. And we're going to talk about Schmeichel as
00:03:12well. But the bottom line is supporter. The bottom line is you're a supporter. You
00:03:19go along to support your club. You don't go along to throw tennis balls onto a park.
00:03:22For what reason? What point are you trying to make?
00:03:27Well, let's get to the balance overall, Tam. Quite simply, it's a democracy. People are
00:03:35allowed to show their displeasure at certain decisions. I think the Green Brigade one is
00:03:40a little more complex than they're just not allowed in. There are various layers to the
00:03:46conduct of the Green Brigade. The demands of Celtic Football Club on the Green Brigade.
00:03:50And they can't come to an agreement. And some of the things that have upset the club are
00:03:58quite simply that whether it's pyrotechnics, whether it's banners, whether it's flags,
00:04:03it's not the fact that they might disagree with the sentiment of the Green Brigade. It's
00:04:07the fact that it gets the club into trouble.
00:04:10Yeah, that's been the case for a number of years now. Peter Celtic are getting fined across
00:04:14European games. You know, banning supporters. You know, the UEFA have banned them at times
00:04:19as well. So, yeah, listen, it doesn't help anyone. You know, at the start of the game,
00:04:23and I think Martin O'Neill touched on it after the game. You know, he's been at Celtic in
00:04:27big, big European nights. I mean, the likes of Barcelona have come and Juventus and teams
00:04:30like that. And they've been terrified. Their racket when you walk out of Celtic Park was
00:04:35enormous. You know, teams would freeze on that stage. I think he was looking for a similar
00:04:39type of atmosphere last night. You know, when the teams came out, I think he said that it
00:04:43was good. And then a minute into the game, in fact, it was 20 seconds into the game,
00:04:47you know, there's tennis balls getting thrown on. So, you could see how exasperated he was
00:04:50on the sideline. I think the camera panned to him, Peter, and he must have been thinking,
00:04:53what's going on here? Yeah. And straight away, that sucks all the energy out of the stadium.
00:04:57You know, it would give an opposition player, it would give me a lift, knowing that I thought
00:05:01this was going to be intimidating. And it's like a mob now. So, yeah, I don't think it
00:05:06helps anyone. There's a bit of a civil war going on at Celtic. Now, Martin O'Neill's
00:05:10been very jovial and very jokey in his press conferences. And he's posting pre-match
00:05:15analysis of games. Last night was probably the angriest I've seen him since he's come
00:05:18back to Celtic. So, all is not well at Celtic at the minute. And I know that Martin would
00:05:25dearly like the supporters back in. I don't think that's going to happen now at the end
00:05:29of the season. I think there's too much water under the bridge, Peter, for that to happen.
00:05:32So, Celtic have got to get together as a club and try and win the league and try and win
00:05:37the cup now because they're out of Europe. And if they don't, there's going to be fingers
00:05:40pointed everywhere. But I don't think it helps anyone in that divide between the supporters
00:05:45and the club.
00:05:46Well, over and above that, Ruffy, Martin O'Neill can do no wrong in the eyes of the Celtic
00:05:51fans.
00:05:52He was getting criticised a wee bit last night. I've seen his comments after it about, I
00:05:57think he said something about the club's not getting any money in one of the statements.
00:06:02So, I've seen a few...
00:06:03I think he said he can't compete with a team that could spend £8 million on a player.
00:06:07Well, it's not an argument that cuts...
00:06:09I don't think there's a big gap between Celtic and Stuttgart in terms of wages.
00:06:12Well, listen, you know, there's somebody that would annihilate you on that line alone on
00:06:17some of the individual players that may well be recruited by Stuttgart. But it doesn't
00:06:22cut this whole narrative of trying to back the board with their constant, we can't compete
00:06:28nonsense because Bodo glimped defeated Inter Milan by three goals to one and they don't
00:06:34have a budget that would sink the Titanic. There are always anomalies.
00:06:37But the point here is Celtic fans are not demanding that Celtic fire out Champions League
00:06:44money to the level of the big clubs. They want to be able to take scalps. They want to
00:06:50try and make Celtic Park a fortress. They want to try and at least get to a situation where
00:06:55they can maybe get to knockout phase and give someone a run for their money. And Brendan
00:07:00Rogers proved that you can do that. And from a year on from that, they have gone backwards.
00:07:06But their ambitions have always been, for me, over a 20 year period, you know, this board
00:07:12has been more about bean counting than trying to get, you know, big wins and give Celtic
00:07:18fans more nights that Martin used to give them to remember back in 2002, 2003. And what you've
00:07:25got is that you've got a whole pile of either journalists or pundits who pander to them, who'll
00:07:32bleat out this narrative of they can't compete. It's a lot of nonsense. Celtic fans don't want
00:07:37them to spend 20 million on a player. They just want them to actually go and recruit properly
00:07:41and have a go and entertain them. And they're not getting that. We were talking for it on
00:07:47air. What happened to the guy they've just signed from Brentford at centre-half? Nobody's
00:07:51heard of this guy.
00:07:51I don't think you can complain with what the supporters are protesting against. But we've
00:07:58been doing this all year now. And has any of the boards stepped in? You know, it's not
00:08:03working.
00:08:04No.
00:08:05It's not because this board aren't going to give up what they've got.
00:08:07I can't help but feel, Tam, that they're, I can't help but feel, if you've got 77 million,
00:08:13maybe 80 million in the bank, I just get this feeling that they're stacking the cash to sell
00:08:18the club. I can't work out any other reason for that. But by the way, can I also say, so
00:08:26what they lost to Stuttgart? Martin and Neil, not that he's happy to lose. Martin and Neil
00:08:30doesn't want the European tie. He knows that the Celtic have got to try and battle on all
00:08:36fronts. Stuttgart, to the game that Ruffey wanted us to jump on, because when he reads
00:08:42the script here, he tries to move on quickly without giving an opinion on it. Stuttgart?
00:08:47Different class, Peter.
00:08:49Were they a different class?
00:08:50I thought they cruised the game, Peter. And I'll tell you what, Celtic looked as if they
00:08:55didn't want to pin Europe any longer either. I thought the intensity wasn't there from
00:08:58the start for them, Celtic. I thought too many players going through the motions. Usually
00:09:01in big European nights, you get after teams, you put them under pressure, you press high.
00:09:06You go and get the crowd behind you. I didn't see any of that from start to finish, really.
00:09:10And they played like a team that just thought, these are two games that we could be doing
00:09:13without. And I think that showed in the performance and the end result, to be honest.
00:09:16I think Martin and Neil has obviously done particularly well with getting the results.
00:09:20But I think we'll all admit that Celtic aren't firing on North Island. Celtic aren't the team
00:09:25that Peter keeps bringing up against the Germans, you know. But this has been waiting to happen,
00:09:32this result. I mean, these goals and seven and eight minutes into extra time and everything,
00:09:37it's a recipe for disaster. Not being able to beat teams in 90 minutes that are sitting
00:09:42bottom of the league shows you that you're not playing particularly well. And when you
00:09:45come up against a really good team, this is what's going to happen. You're just fudging
00:09:49over, you know, just, oh, we're winning a game, we're winning this, we're still in it,
00:09:54we're still in it. But when you look at the football last night, they're miles off it.
00:09:58Well, the other thing about it, and I would never condemn people for having that right
00:10:03to voice their displeasure, providing, of course, the, you know, whether it's tennis
00:10:08balls or whatever, some people disagree with that. You've got to look and say to yourself,
00:10:12why are they angry? What do they want to be rectified? Are they going to get their way
00:10:18in this? It's going to be a long haul to try and get rid of some of the board members.
00:10:21Certainly the majority shareholder is still in there. And anybody that gets in his way
00:10:27is either barred or condemned. But what I would say, Tam, is, and I don't think I'm
00:10:35surprising anybody by this, I'm absolutely gobsmacked that the Celtic fans booed
00:10:41Cashfish Michael. OK, he's at fault, first and third goal. I think he's open to criticism.
00:10:48He has made some absolutely fantastic saves over the last month, which we've credited
00:10:53him with in this show. He's made some top-draw saves. Last night, quality side, they hit
00:10:59it harder, they hit it better. But goal number one and goal number three, poor. But by the
00:11:08way, you don't boo the goalkeeper, for God's sake. I can remember, I can remember going
00:11:12and watching Celtic as a kid. I would never think of booing a player that was wearing green
00:11:17white hoops.
00:11:17You've got to support your players, Peter, and I don't like to see anyone booed. I just
00:11:21don't think it helps anyone. If you're a supporter and you think, right, he's not playing very
00:11:25well, I'm going to boo him. What benefit do you think that's going to give to the team
00:11:29and the individual player? It's going to make him play worse, and it's going to make the
00:11:33team play worse.
00:11:34But that's not supporting your team booing the player.
00:11:36It's not. It's not Peter Indy. I thought it was out of order. Listen, I think Kasper
00:11:39Smeichel's probably in his last season. I think he's making far too many mistakes now. I think
00:11:43his concentration levels, you know, and his fitness levels, I think this will probably
00:11:47be his last season. So whether he gets taken out of the firing line against Hibbs on Sunday,
00:11:52I don't know. Martin Neal was back to his goalkeeper last night, and you see that after
00:11:56games, you know, managers do back players, but in the cold light heart of Dave, when he sees
00:12:00the goals back, he might think, right, we need to change. But I think that, I think
00:12:04he's lost the confidence of the Celtic supporters, Kasper Smeichel, now, and I think it goes
00:12:07way back to the cup final last season, when he made the boo-boo when Aberdeen won the
00:12:11Scottish. I think the Celtic fans have been getting on his back ever since then. So I
00:12:15think it's time for a change in the goalkeeping department. I really do. I just think that
00:12:20it's time to bring someone else, when it's Sinasalo or whoever, you need to go and bring
00:12:24another keeper in, because I just think Kasper's confidence is shot to bits, and anything that's
00:12:27on target at the minute looks as if it's a goal.
00:12:29So, you're better placed than anybody, roughly, on the goals that you lost last night.
00:12:34I think he's lost his confidence.
00:12:35No, I think he's carrying some kind of injury. I don't know what it is on his shoulder.
00:12:40Well, said he missed a couple of games, you know, to rest his shoulder. The guy came in,
00:12:45the new guy came in, and then he's been brought in again. He's not reacting, didn't that,
00:12:49on that right-hand side. He's trying to flick everything. He's trying to flick everything
00:12:53out the road, and Peter's right. The pace of the ball done him the other night. I mean,
00:12:58he went down with his arm and ended up hitting him quite high up, you know, and that's a
00:13:02bad sign as well. The first goal, yeah, it's poor again.
00:13:06Are you making excuses for him?
00:13:07No, no, no, no, no, no.
00:13:08If he's injured, you don't play him.
00:13:10Well, yeah, I would agree with that. I would agree with that, 100%.
00:13:13Too much at stake for Celtic now, I think, to carry anyone, injuries and passengers.
00:13:17With 11 games to go in the league.
00:13:18Yeah, I just don't think Celtic can afford to carry any passengers.
00:13:20Well, I think he's big enough and broad enough to admit that these two goals were poor.
00:13:26Yeah.
00:13:26You know, but as you're saying there, if you're a true supporter of the club, you don't boo
00:13:30one of your players. You know, particularly somebody who has done particularly well since
00:13:34he's come back and come in and done big saves and big games. So you don't, it just shows
00:13:39you the new breed of, not all supporters, but a new breed of certain supporters feel as
00:13:45if they're above everybody and they'll just do whatever they want and they'll no go.
00:13:50You're probably going back to your time as well. Certainly my time, if people weren't
00:13:53playing well, the fans could boo you.
00:13:56Yeah, you think so?
00:13:56I remember playing for Hibs and a big winger, Derek Townsley. Oh, what it's thinking.
00:14:01Gary Caldwell, when he announced that he was going to Celtic when he was at Hibs, booed
00:14:05him mercersly at Hibs. And I have heard it at other clubs as well. So I just, supporters
00:14:09just think, I don't agree with it, but supporters think, well, I'm paying my money, so I'm
00:14:12entitled to do what I want. I don't agree with it.
00:14:14I have to admit, you can understand, you know, sometimes, sometimes you get in a game
00:14:18where a player's giving the ball away regularly or he's having a howler, you know, the fans
00:14:23get upset with that. This is after the game. You know what I mean? You think to yourself,
00:14:29you know, why's your displeasure? I mean, I actually on Twitter last night just went,
00:14:33Kasper Schmeichel, on the basis that it wasn't a great performance, but booing, I don't know.
00:14:39By the way, the other thing about it as well is, no matter what happens, from last-minute
00:14:45winners and the euphoria of the game against Kilmarnock, you know, that's all domestic issues
00:14:52that they're managing to get away with it. But in the European stage, they have gone
00:14:58backwards. The ambition has been, there can't be any ambition because they've just been literally
00:15:04assets stripped by this board. Yeah, I don't think anybody could argue that. No Celtic
00:15:09supporter would argue that. You know, you can talk about five players, top, top players
00:15:14who were the engine of the Celtic team, you know, and playing attractive football, going
00:15:19forward at pace, winning games, winning 3-0, 4-0, 5-0. That's not happening anymore.
00:15:25You're relying on getting into extra time to try and get a winner. And that's basically
00:15:29because the quality that they had is not there anymore, you know, and it's second-rate,
00:15:34not, I don't mean second-rate players, just second-rate quality that's in the team.
00:15:38Yeah, and by the way, see this nonsense about that the Green Brigade are the only people
00:15:42that can sing? That's a lot of nonsense, by the way. If you've got a half-decent team
00:15:47who's entertaining, people will sing. They all sing at the start. You know, what are we
00:15:51dealing with here? You know, a whole team of fantastic choir singers. Give me peace.
00:15:58Put a team on the park and everybody will start singing.
00:16:00Yeah, I don't think it's, the atmosphere's down to the Green Brigade, I think that's down
00:16:03to the whole collective of Celtic, and you're right, if the product on the park is poor and
00:16:08it's turgid, it's hard to watch, you're struggling to break down teams, then supporters are not
00:16:12going to sing and chant, they're going to be frustrated, they're going to moan. If you're
00:16:15playing fast, attractive football, like Ange Postacoglu, the whole crowd are behind it,
00:16:19the whole crowd are singing and up for it, and you get that from the whole support, not
00:16:23just the Green Brigade.
00:16:25The very few games, I must admit, it's only due to the fact that some fans have got a
00:16:31sense, we've talked about this sense of entitlement, but there's very few games in that year where
00:16:36there's been an incredible atmosphere. You know, because the Celtic fans won Champions
00:16:41League, and the Champions League, when it starts, when the music starts, the whole place goes
00:16:47mental, I've never heard anything like it, but what happens in the last couple of years,
00:16:50in a good few years in fact, the Champions League theme kicks in, everybody thinks it's a
00:16:54great atmosphere, and then the team goes out and spank Celtic.
00:16:57Yeah.
00:16:57You know, so this is why they're upset about it, I like this one, this is a great message
00:17:00from Paul, who says, Peter, tell Ruffey I was booing him the morning after a game
00:17:06Austria against Scotland in 1978, Ruffey let in a Howler 3-2 to Austria.
00:17:10Remembering it clear the last five minutes.
00:17:12Yeah, do you remember Paul?
00:17:13Don't remember Paul, I remember...
00:17:15Hans Krankel.
00:17:15Hans Krankel, yeah.
00:17:17What a shout, that is brilliant.
00:17:20Hans Krankel scored, yeah.
00:17:21Yeah.
00:17:22Don't want to go through the whole scenario, you know, because I don't like blaming other
00:17:25people.
00:17:26What was that?
00:17:27It was a misunderstanding, it was Ian Munro.
00:17:30Oh, not your...
00:17:31No, no, no, no, no, listen to the story.
00:17:34Your pal.
00:17:34No, I'm not blaming Ian.
00:17:36Did he just say it was him?
00:17:37No, no, no, I'm trying to tell you what happened.
00:17:39Alright, okay.
00:17:39The ball got played through from a long distance, Ian came across to cover it and I shouted,
00:17:45leave it Ian.
00:17:46Did you not shout Ruffey's ball?
00:17:47No, no, I just said, leave it Ian, that's mine.
00:17:50And it just so happened that the ball, him and me and the ball went in between, if you
00:17:57know what I mean.
00:17:57It was a thing and it hit me in the shoulder and it bounced to the boy Krankel and he
00:18:02just
00:18:02walked in there.
00:18:03Right, so...
00:18:04It was Ian's fault, man.
00:18:05You taking responsibility for it, full responsibility, it was your mistake.
00:18:10I'm going to phone him tonight and I'm going to say, Ian, he's just blamed you, but he's
00:18:16the nicest guy you could ever wish to meet, you're a moron.
00:18:19I would never blame Ian Munro for that, he was a quality guy.
00:18:21Here's the other thing I was going to say to you, did you get booed?
00:18:24No, but I'll tell you where I did get booed, which I'll never, ever forget.
00:18:29Go on.
00:18:30Coming out after the Peru game.
00:18:34I know.
00:18:34There's a viaduct, there's a viaduct.
00:18:39And you come out of the main entrance right onto the bus and the bus was quite near, you
00:18:42know.
00:18:43And we knew as soon as we come out, supporters have paid their money, they're up there, they're
00:18:48going absolutely mental and that, but we were obviously just wanting to go on the bus
00:18:52and Ali came out and started waving to them.
00:18:58Well, listen, five shots, four goals, Celtic well beaten.
00:19:03I'm not going to make excuses for him because quite simply, I think, you know, he would have
00:19:09taken a positive result, Martin, but certainly having listened to him in the press conference
00:19:14after the Kermarnik game, he was looking and more or less saying, listen, we need a game
00:19:18against Stuttgart like a hole in the head because they've got six mental games and these
00:19:23are...
00:19:24I think it makes it easier, Peter, for the second leg, which is three days before the
00:19:28Scottish Cup game against Rangers.
00:19:30Yeah.
00:19:30I think you'll send the B team over there.
00:19:32Yeah, what the seven or eight players that were signed without his consent?
00:19:35Yeah, I think they'll send the under-16s over to Stuttgart, but I don't think they'll
00:19:39be taking any chances in that game.
00:19:40The tie's done.
00:19:41If I was Martin, I'd send over Didi Agat, Thompson, Sutton and Larson, you know.
00:19:48Yeah, see if we can find Bobo Baldi somewhere.
00:19:50Yeah, absolutely.
00:19:52I think he's still under contract.
00:19:58So, he's 28 grand a week.
00:20:00It's 16 years since Hibs last defeated Celtic.
00:20:02I remember it.
00:20:03Danny Gobreith, an ex-team mate of mine at Limerick, went through and scored 2-1, last
00:20:08kick of the ball, and that's far too long for a club like Hibs.
00:20:11To go to Celtic.
00:20:12And listen, I don't think they'll get many better opportunities.
00:20:14I think the Celtic team's poor.
00:20:16I think they're there to be got at.
00:20:17They're coming off the back of a tank in Europe.
00:20:21Hibs have, again, just started to pick up a couple of results.
00:20:24Got a wee freshness in there with the new signings, Peter.
00:20:25So, listen, I'm loathe to go and pick Hibs to go and beat Celtic at Parkhead with the record
00:20:31they've got.
00:20:31But I think if you're a Hibs player, you're going, right, come on, let's put a performance
00:20:35in and we can get a result here.
00:20:37You think they will?
00:20:38Too honest, Elik.
00:20:40I mean, listen, the three strikers they've got, you know.
00:20:46Yeah.
00:20:46It's a freshness, Peter.
00:20:47I think they needed it.
00:20:48I think they needed it.
00:20:49Sutle, Scarlett.
00:20:50Sutle's a big target, man.
00:20:51I likened them to Big Mixu.
00:20:53Big Mixu will be happy with that.
00:20:56Scarlett, obviously, on loan from Tottenham.
00:20:57A young lad, Eldon, from Ireland.
00:20:58So, yeah, and they've brought a new defender and a new midfield player.
00:21:01So, they've got a wee bit of freshness in it, Hibs.
00:21:03And, listen, they've noed a game this week.
00:21:04They'll be fully prepared by David Gray.
00:21:08And too many times David Gray's went to Celtic and Rangers and been negative in his tactics.
00:21:12I hope he goes and goes really attacking and gets at Celtic because, defensively, at the minute, Celtic will better
00:21:17be got at.
00:21:18OK, prediction 2-1 Celtic, Ruffy.
00:21:202-0 Celtic.
00:21:21Yeah, can't see past Celtic in this one domestically.
00:21:25It's certainly going to be squeaky bum time now.
00:21:27Celtic have still got a game in hand.
00:21:29But let's talk Rangers because Danny Rule at the press conference, very confident and positive, as he should be now,
00:21:36with regards to Rangers.
00:21:38You know, I think it's that classic, what I call, Dick Arbacat line, we can do it, which Dick used
00:21:46to, when I was interviewing him, he was always very positive, brilliant to interview.
00:21:50Danny Rule, again, saying, you know, now they've got a real chance, we can do it.
00:21:56They've got Livingston, they're bottom of the table.
00:21:59This is an opportunity for Rangers to, again, just keep this winning momentum.
00:22:04Yeah, well, they proved that last week.
00:22:06I think everybody, not everybody, a lot of people were going, this could be a game if Hearts do particularly
00:22:11well and take something from Ibrox.
00:22:13You know, because Scupper, you know, Rangers, I think Tam has said, if it goes to eight points, forget it.
00:22:19So they've done particularly well.
00:22:20That game will give them a massive boost.
00:22:23I said the other week there that I think the squad that they've got now, particularly on the bench, are
00:22:28proving their worth when they're coming on.
00:22:30And that is a big thing.
00:22:32I honestly can't see them taking it in and out of this Livingston side.
00:22:36But Livingston are fighting for their life and it would have to be something drastic, like a Rangers getting a
00:22:41player sent off or something like that.
00:22:42Yeah, the other thing I was going to say to you, Tam, is he's hinted today that there might be
00:22:46a couple of injuries,
00:22:47but I don't think it would matter a jot the way they're playing.
00:22:50I mean, they're starting to be not only creative, Rangers, I think it's very positive for them,
00:22:56but, you know, everybody's got that feeling as if this could be a special year.
00:23:00Yeah, I think the momentum they'll get, Peter, from that performance and result against Hearts could be critical for them
00:23:05going forward.
00:23:07Livingston are on track to be one of the worst teams in Premiership history this season with their points total.
00:23:12So I can see nothing more than a comfortable Rangers win.
00:23:16And there'll be three quarters of the stadium Rangers fans there as well.
00:23:19Usually in the past I'd go Livingston away, AstroTurf, but they've got a brand new pitch as well,
00:23:23which I think suits better players.
00:23:25I don't think it's suited Livingston, so I think Rangers are going one cosy.
00:23:28Yeah, what about a good deal for John Suter?
00:23:31He's done well, he's combined.
00:23:33I think he's had a really good sustained period, no injury worries. Solid.
00:23:38Yeah, I always liked him, Peter.
00:23:39I think he's obviously been very unfortunate with injuries at Hearts and Dundee United.
00:23:43I think he's Rangers' best centre-half.
00:23:45In terms of just a pure defender, I think he throws his cell in front of things, he blocks, he
00:23:49reads the game well.
00:23:50And I think that's good business for Rangers.
00:23:51I think if you keep him fit, he's your number one centre-half.
00:23:54So he's been really, really impressive the last couple of games that I've seen Motherwell in Hearts.
00:23:58And so I think that's good for John, who I think will play for Scotland in the World Cup if
00:24:02he's fit.
00:24:03And for Rangers as well, getting him tied up again.
00:24:05And after all the hullabaloo, even a wee sniff that Raskin might get a new deal.
00:24:11Yeah, it's amazing what happens when you start to win games and the fans get behind you again.
00:24:15I think there was a few murmurings about Raskin with the Rangers supporters maybe a month ago, six weeks ago.
00:24:19He wasn't playing too well.
00:24:20I think he's obviously scored a great goal against Motherwell, played really well against Hearts.
00:24:25All of a sudden, there's more positive rumblings about him.
00:24:27But I don't think he'll be there long term.
00:24:29I think he's got his eyes on the move abroad.
00:24:32That's just my opinion.
00:24:33But I think if the deal's right for Rangers, then maybe.
00:24:37But I just don't think he's a replaceable Raskin.
00:24:39I think he's a good player. I don't think he's a great player.
00:24:41Yeah. Ruffy, do you share that view?
00:24:44It depends when his contract's up.
00:24:46I think before all these new signings come in, I thought he was the only player that Rangers get money
00:24:53for.
00:24:53I think he's got maybe another year to go.
00:24:56I think he had 18 months left in the deal when they were all talking about him getting wanted.
00:25:00It's all about him.
00:25:00We saw what's happening across the road at Celtic with Hitate and Maida.
00:25:05You don't know what's going on behind the scenes.
00:25:07Once he starts playing with Belgium again, and if he's playing well, he'll be in the limelight.
00:25:11And it depends what his ambitions are.
00:25:13He's already had a good time at Rangers.
00:25:15It depends what other clubs attract a phonies agent to see, and then it's up to him.
00:25:21But no, you're right.
00:25:22Do we expect too much from him?
00:25:24Alec really expects more from him.
00:25:26I think he's getting that a wee bit now, and I think that's because there's better players coming into the
00:25:31Rangers team.
00:25:32I think the pressure's been taken off of him a wee bit, and he seems to be enjoying his football.
00:25:37Alec always said he'd like to see him getting forward more.
00:25:40He's certainly getting in the box more.
00:25:42Headers on target, corners, free kicks.
00:25:45And I think he's enjoying his football, but again, he'll be the one that'll dictate what he's going to do.
00:25:51Yeah, here's one he was saying.
00:25:52Raskin is replaceable, not worth a big wage.
00:25:57I think he's always struck me as someone who's maybe working his ticket to get to a better league.
00:26:03No disrespect to Scottish football.
00:26:04Rangers are the big club, but I think he's always struck me as somebody who thinks he's maybe better in
00:26:10the Scottish league or Rangers.
00:26:11That's just my opinion.
00:26:12Yeah, Danny Rowe, I think, as I mentioned, has been talking about the fact that they've got total belief that
00:26:19they can win the Premiership.
00:26:20He's called on the players to just back it up now, consistently just keep going.
00:26:25And when I looked at the record roughly, 46 points out of a possible 57 since he took charge.
00:26:32That's how consistent he's been.
00:26:34I don't understand how the bookies have got Celtic favourites to win this league.
00:26:38I really don't.
00:26:39I don't know what the criteria is that whoever works these odds out, because they've certainly got the hardest fixture
00:26:45of the other two.
00:26:47I mean, Haas have got a really good fixture just now leading up to the split.
00:26:50Yeah, good five games.
00:26:51I think he's relying on the split coming when they're all going to start playing each other.
00:26:55Yeah, but Celtic have got Rangers and Hearts at Celtic Park.
00:26:58After the split.
00:26:59Yeah, I know that, but I mean, there's no evidence that they're free-flowing into the games.
00:27:05Do you remember the nine games before when Tam and I sat here with you and I said to Tam,
00:27:12I've sat down and I've worked out the points, right?
00:27:16By the way, Hearts have lost two of them already.
00:27:18So Tam, so I had the...
00:27:20He's predictable in every other game.
00:27:22Hold on a minute, I'm just going to tell you the post-it notes.
00:27:24I had the post-it notes because I kept a note of the games and I had the post-it
00:27:27notes and I thought, you know what, he slaughtered me last week.
00:27:30I'm going to have a wee look here and I thought, yep, Hearts blew it a couple of times.
00:27:34So I put that down, I looked at Rangers and I went, a couple of times, I'd suggested they were
00:27:38going to win, draw, blew it.
00:27:41And then I looked at Celtic and bang on the money.
00:27:46So, you know, they just keep grinding it out.
00:27:49Celtic will win it.
00:27:50I think I've changed it.
00:27:51I'll be honest with you and I think I've changed my mind about two or three times.
00:27:54You've gone Rangers now, have you not?
00:27:56No, I'm still going with Celtic.
00:27:57I'm still going with Celtic.
00:27:58What evidence?
00:27:59I don't know.
00:28:00I just think because I think...
00:28:01No, it's me that does that.
00:28:03You know what I said?
00:28:04I just think because I've got a manager who's been there and done it and I've got a squad, a
00:28:09nucleus of a squad that have been there and done it,
00:28:10I just think when it comes down to the real pressure games, a point in it, two games to go,
00:28:15I think they'll just get it done.
00:28:16But I wouldn't be, if you said to me, you've got to put money on it, no chance.
00:28:20No chance.
00:28:20I think it'll be incredibly tight.
00:28:22And these Celtics two games against Rangers are crucial.
00:28:26The league game in the cup game can just blow Celtics' season right out the window.
00:28:30Yeah, but the funny thing about it all is, you know, you listen to every pundit, you listen to every
00:28:35journalist, you're listening to fans.
00:28:37The whole thing has been knee-jerk and U-turns all the way through the last couple of months.
00:28:43Rangers are written off heavily after they've got beat at Hearts at Christmas.
00:28:46Absolutely.
00:28:46But 12 points behind, they cannae won it.
00:28:48And now you look at Hearts and the game against Rangers, and I look at Rangers and I think, you
00:28:52know, they've changed.
00:28:53They were playing ranked lot in football, but there was a real momentum, the crowd were into it.
00:28:59They were able to actually, you know, come back and then eventually put Hearts to bed.
00:29:03No, but see, before they put Hearts to bed, see when Hearts went 2-1 up, it didn't look that
00:29:09way then, that they were going to end up 4-2.
00:29:12You know, Hearts will still believe they've got what, Fulker this weekend, they've got two home games coming up, and
00:29:19they'll be looking at Rangers and Celtics two games, you know, while they take maximum points.
00:29:24It's all about home games.
00:29:25Wait a minute, who do you think's going to win the league?
00:29:27I'd like, I'm not going to put you in the spot there now, I'd like you to tell me the
00:29:32home and away fixtures, who's got the most home and away fixtures.
00:29:35I don't know.
00:29:36The next living games.
00:29:37We don't know after the split, but it's more than likely Celtic will have three home games.
00:29:43It depends on what state they're in by the time they get the split.
00:29:46Yeah, so you...
00:29:48The two Rangers games for me are the ones that will tell us all.
00:29:51If Rangers win this one in the first.
00:29:53The league game?
00:29:53Yeah.
00:29:54Yeah, I think Rangers are going to win it.
00:29:56Right, OK.
00:29:56Well, there you are, we got it out of them, Tam, early as well, which is quite unusual for...
00:30:01We're taking it, we're taking it, write that down, Tam, will you?
00:30:04I don't think there's anyone who, looking at the way Celtic are defending at the minute, particularly cross-ball set
00:30:10-pieces, going to Ibrox.
00:30:11And the goalie.
00:30:12And the goalkeeper, going to Ibrox, where, listen, Rangers have been brilliant for set-pieces.
00:30:17They're a big, big outfit, physical team.
00:30:19I don't think any Celtic fan would relish going to Ibrox and think they would pick up three points there
00:30:23at the minute.
00:30:25OK, let's wait.
00:30:26Ruffy's needing a crystal ball, says Bob.
00:30:29He needs more than a crystal ball, I have to tell you.
00:30:32He needs a new knee, because...
00:30:35And I think this is only logical that I say this.
00:30:37He needs a knee replacement?
00:30:38No.
00:30:38Well, he's blaming his knee for not playing tennis.
00:30:41So he said to me, I asked him the question, I said, are you going to play tennis again?
00:30:46Are you coming back?
00:30:47Because quite a few people have asked, you know, what's the score with him?
00:30:51Has he a good racket snap?
00:30:52No, no. He's turned around and said, he's not coming back.
00:30:55He's chucked it, that's it.
00:30:56So the immediate thing you do, as a pal, I've said to him, well, you've got a right good, big,
00:31:01giant tennis bag,
00:31:03and you've got a good few rackets in it, any chance of giving me them?
00:31:06Because you're not using them.
00:31:07You'd be buying money for it, wouldn't you?
00:31:08You wouldn't give him it for nothing.
00:31:09No, no, I'd let him.
00:31:11He's chucked the golfing off, he's banged it.
00:31:13No, no, no.
00:31:14You could see that coming, couldn't you?
00:31:15He's got a cracking trolley by you.
00:31:17The only thing that nobody wants is, oh, you've chucked the balls, keep them.
00:31:22He's got a nice motor caddy, the electric.
00:31:24Has he?
00:31:25No, he's a cracker.
00:31:26I can't afford one.
00:31:27There you are.
00:31:28Listen, Livingston Rangers, I think, you know, and again, you know,
00:31:32Marvin Bartley's trying his absolute best to get a trick out of them,
00:31:36but I think there will be a point very shortly where I think you'll be resigned to saying,
00:31:40listen, this is championship football, I don't see Rangers having any problems with them whatsoever.
00:31:45I think it'll be 3-0.
00:31:46I'll go 2-0.
00:31:48Yeah, I fancy Rangers 3-0.
00:31:50OK.
00:31:51What about the other team, the contenders?
00:31:54They're off to Dubai when the Scottish Cup games go on
00:31:59because they're going to take that chance for maybe four or five days to go there.
00:32:02It's not a jolly, don't say it, because if it's a jolly...
00:32:05Remember the last title contenders on Dubai?
00:32:07Yeah, if they go on a jolly, you get barred, and then you get sent to the English Premier League.
00:32:11That's happened.
00:32:13That's what happens.
00:32:15Depends on the owner, though.
00:32:17Depends on the players as well, you know.
00:32:19That's a great show, go to a waint trap.
00:32:22I've never been to Dubai, so Dubai isn't all in my...
00:32:26I've never been, but I'm possibly going next year, next summer.
00:32:29Is that right?
00:32:29Sorry, this summer.
00:32:30Well, if you keep doing podcasts for other companies, there's a good chance, Robbie,
00:32:33you can just keep banking all the cash.
00:32:35No cash, no cash.
00:32:37It was exchanged in that podcast.
00:32:39Yeah.
00:32:40My two pals.
00:32:40Yeah.
00:32:44So, Robbie, Dubai, I think, is a great idea by Derek.
00:32:49They've got no game, get them over there, get a wee bit of camaraderie, and then, obviously,
00:32:55a right chance to have a right go, because as you said, there's five games coming up where
00:32:59they, I think, think to themselves, they should be looking and thinking, there's a real chance
00:33:03to get 15 points here.
00:33:05Yeah, I'd be looking over my shoulder as well, as soon as the game finishes.
00:33:08The Hearts games is, I'd be wanting to know how Rangers and Celtic are doing, because there
00:33:13is every possibility.
00:33:14They will drop points, and if Hearts keep winning their home games, you know, there's
00:33:19still a wee gap there, and I don't think Rangers and Celtic can afford to go into the split.
00:33:24I know there's 15 points up for grabs, obviously, Motherwell are there, you know, and somebody's
00:33:30got to go to Falkirk, which both of them have struggled with.
00:33:33So, I think it's going to be really exciting right up until the end.
00:33:36Hearts against Falkirk at home, Hearts against Aberdeen at home, away to Kilmarnock, and
00:33:40then they've got Dundee at home, and then they've got Livingston away, and then Motherwell
00:33:44before the split at Tynecastle.
00:33:46So, the tricky one, of course, is Motherwell going to Tynecastle.
00:33:51The rest of them there, yeah, they'll put up a battle, but they should be looking and
00:33:55seeing themselves.
00:33:56Next five games, they should be looking for 12 points, I think, 13 points.
00:34:00I think they should be looking to win four of them, maybe draw one or whatever, but
00:34:02that's a great schedule.
00:34:03How many away have they got?
00:34:04Yeah, two.
00:34:05Kilmarnock away will be tricky.
00:34:07Yeah.
00:34:07Kilmarnock away.
00:34:08Livingston away.
00:34:09Livingston.
00:34:09No, Motherwell at home.
00:34:11Livingston away and Kilmarnock away.
00:34:12So, two to the bottom, like two to the bottom, two or three at the minute.
00:34:15I'm looking at those six games, Tam, and with my heart's head on, 18 points.
00:34:19Oh, I love that for you.
00:34:2218, 27 out of 30, and it was two of the next three.
00:34:25I know.
00:34:25Delighted.
00:34:26I'm going 18 points.
00:34:28Aye, I think they should be looking at it.
00:34:30You've got six.
00:34:31Aye.
00:34:31Yeah.
00:34:32He thinks they'll win every game.
00:34:33Every game.
00:34:34I think they'll win every game, and I'll go 18 or not.
00:34:36Yeah.
00:34:36What, you beat you, Ruffy?
00:34:37No.
00:34:37I'm just trying to put the bogey on them, trying to join them.
00:34:40Six, so it's four at home and two away.
00:34:42Yeah.
00:34:42Easy 18 points.
00:34:43And you get three points for a win.
00:34:44I know that.
00:34:45Easy 18 points, Ruffy.
00:34:46Easy.
00:34:46No, I'm not going for 18.
00:34:47What are you going for?
00:34:48I'll go for 14.
00:34:5114.
00:34:52What about the other two?
00:34:53Gives the other two up to the split?
00:34:56Yeah.
00:34:58Six games.
00:34:58He's always the same.
00:34:59It's all cricket at home.
00:35:00You know what you do?
00:35:01You should do what every other person does.
00:35:03You should go and research it and make sure that you've got it in there.
00:35:06It's more exciting this way.
00:35:07Yeah.
00:35:08So Rangers, away to Livingston, three points.
00:35:11At home to Celtic.
00:35:12Big chance to get three points.
00:35:15Then they've got the cup match against Celtic.
00:35:16But then the other games, away to St Mirren, three points because St Mirren are poor.
00:35:21Nah, they've struggled a wee bit against St Mirren.
00:35:24St Mirren are poor at the moment.
00:35:26I can't work.
00:35:27I cannot for the life of me work out.
00:35:29Stephen Robinson must be pulling his hair out.
00:35:32Aberdeen and Dundee United, they've got them at Ibrox.
00:35:34Six points.
00:35:36Falkirk away.
00:35:37Tricky.
00:35:39Again.
00:35:39I don't think that's any worse than what Hearts have got.
00:35:42If you're looking at that from a Rangers fan point of view, you're thinking,
00:35:46you could really put a dent in.
00:35:47We could put a dent in not only Hearts, but we could knock Celtic out the cup and knock
00:35:51them out running in the league.
00:35:52Absolutely.
00:35:52Both games at Ibrox.
00:35:53So I think this is going to be, you know, I spoke about it a couple of weeks ago.
00:35:57I said the Hearts at home and then the Celtic at home.
00:35:59The two league games will make a bright Rangers season.
00:36:02They've won the first one against the Hearts.
00:36:03If they win the second one, they'll go favourites to win the league.
00:36:06And Celtic six?
00:36:08And Celtic six, which obviously we'll have to look at now because Ruffey doesn't.
00:36:12Balanced.
00:36:12Yeah.
00:36:13Celtic six games, Ruffey.
00:36:15They've got Hibs at home.
00:36:18Then they're away to Rangers in the league.
00:36:20They're away to Aberdeen at Pataudry.
00:36:22And then, obviously, the cup match with Rangers.
00:36:24But they've got Motherwell at home.
00:36:26And then they've got the two Dundee sides away before St Myrna at home.
00:36:30I would say that's a harder run.
00:36:32Celtic have got a harder run in, I think.
00:36:33Celtic need to stay in the mix until they split, until they get that run.
00:36:36You can't only, when you're saying 18 points for the other two,
00:36:38I'm looking at that now and saying there's never 18 points there for Celtic.
00:36:43No, they're not getting full.
00:36:44They're not getting full.
00:36:45OK.
00:36:46Well, there you are.
00:36:47The Jambos are in action against Falker.
00:36:51And John McGlynn, Cole Donaldson, he's got him in a new deal as well.
00:36:56There's a really great feel about the place.
00:36:59Because I look at some of the players that are playing that I would pay to go and see on
00:37:04a regular basis.
00:37:06Because I love the way they play.
00:37:09If Nicky Cadden's playing for Hibs, I'm delighted.
00:37:12Because you know you're going to get a top-drawer ball in.
00:37:15If the boy Congreve is playing for Dundee, I'm ecstatic.
00:37:18And if Calvin Miller's playing for Falkirk, I'm well happy.
00:37:22Yeah, because these are entertainers, Peter.
00:37:24These are the players that go and take players on and put good deliveries into the box
00:37:27and get you off the edge of their seat.
00:37:28And there's no many of them in Scotland now.
00:37:30There's no many of them in football over the whole.
00:37:32You know, in terms of why players that go and excite and take players on.
00:37:35So, yeah, those three guys that you mentioned are real quality players and quality operators
00:37:40that fans like to see.
00:37:41So, yeah, Calvin Miller's been excellent this season.
00:37:43They've picked up some gems from down south on loan.
00:37:46I think guys like Brad Spencer's been superb for them.
00:37:49Big boy Henderson at the back.
00:37:50They can adjourn them and he's been superb for Falkirk at the back.
00:37:54They've got a lot of good players.
00:37:55And they play an attractive style of football.
00:37:57So, they'll give anyone a game on their day, Falkirk.
00:37:59I think they'll go and test anyone.
00:38:01You've seen it against Celtic in the Cup.
00:38:03They go and have a go at teams and they try and get through.
00:38:07But, yeah, I just think that Harts will be too strong for them tomorrow.
00:38:12Yeah, by the way, I haven't heard from him in a while.
00:38:13I'm delighted that he's actually posted something because you regularly would watch the programme.
00:38:18Ronnie says, Ruffy, anyone that calls the league now is wrong.
00:38:22That's such a good point, Ronnie.
00:38:24But, listen, we're going from one week to the next.
00:38:27It's knee-jerk.
00:38:28It's brilliant because that's what you do.
00:38:30And, you know, being football fans, you know, you look at the games.
00:38:35When you go to the games and you see the way they're playing, you think, God, this is...
00:38:38Yeah, I mean, we're sitting here looking at the fixtures.
00:38:41I'm sure the supporters will be looking at the fixtures.
00:38:43They're no daft.
00:38:44They'll know what's coming round the corner for their team.
00:38:46You know, and I'm sure the Rangers supporters will be sitting rubbing their hands going,
00:38:50Celtic at home in the league, Celtic at home in the Cup.
00:38:53No, they'll be doing the exact same as we're doing, trying to analyse what way the games are going to
00:38:57go.
00:38:57Yeah, I think Harts are going to win this 1-2-1.
00:39:012-0.
00:39:022-0.
00:39:02OK, so we're all in favour of the Jambos winning against Falkirk.
00:39:07We've picked Celtic to defeat Hibernian and we've got Rangers to comfortably win against Livingston.
00:39:13So no change at the top end of the table.
00:39:15And let's not forget, Celtic have their game in hand against Aberdeen.
00:39:19What do you think of it all?
00:39:20Give us your thoughts on how you see this, the twists and turns.
00:39:24Is there going to be a shock along the way?
00:39:27Or is it all geared towards, as Tam mentioned there, that first week in March,
00:39:32which could go a long way to determining silver.
00:39:34We are not only in the Scottish Cup, but in the league as well with Rangers, with Celtic at Ibrox.
00:39:42The other good thing I mentioned at the top there, Ruffie, 7,500 away fans.
00:39:46It's a proper derby in the Cup.
00:39:48Proper derby.
00:39:50Chance for everyone to sample what the game should be like.
00:39:54Yeah, it also means that there is going to be a large continuum of either support going to be happy
00:40:01or sad.
00:40:03And it's sometimes when you go there in large numbers, you want it to go your way.
00:40:08If it doesn't go Celtic's way, then we know what's going to happen.
00:40:11The place is going to be empty within 15 minutes of the end of the game.
00:40:14I think Celtic had a real stranglehold.
00:40:16That's a prediction.
00:40:17Mr Ruffie, what are you blethering on about?
00:40:19I'm glad, I'm glad.
00:40:217,500 fans, that's who you want.
00:40:22Yeah, it's fantastic.
00:40:24I don't think that will give Celtic a massive lift in that game.
00:40:26I do.
00:40:26I think Celtic had a stranglehold on that fixture with that whole stand.
00:40:30Which is one of the reasons why they were given less of an allocation for me,
00:40:34which is going to have people swarm the team.
00:40:37I thought it had everything to do with the fact that they had a better team.
00:40:40Yeah, I think Celtic did have a better team, but the celebrations and the...
00:40:447,500 people, there's a lot of tennis balls.
00:40:48Yeah, absolutely.
00:40:50I think that's got Celtic a big lift.
00:40:51Running out, you know, obviously I didn't play in an old firm game,
00:40:55but I played in an Edmund Darby when you ran out of Tyne Castle
00:40:57and you looked right and you seen a full stand there, it gave you a lift.
00:41:00Whereas if you looked right and you seen 1,000 fans or 500 fans, it wouldn't they?
00:41:06I think Celtic will get a lift when they see that big of a support.
00:41:08OK. Aberdeen against Dundee throws up a question which I must admit,
00:41:13I watched it in midweek. Aberdeen against Motherwell.
00:41:16The referee, John Beaton, decided to show three red cards.
00:41:20It certainly brought about a fair bit of consternation
00:41:22because Jens Berthalaska was saying, you know, you've got to have full-time referees.
00:41:26Would it make a blind bit of difference in this country?
00:41:28No, I don't think so, Peter. I think they're fit enough.
00:41:31I don't think there's any doubt about that.
00:41:32I don't think there's anybody looking and going,
00:41:34he's not fit enough, he's not getting about the park, he's not...
00:41:37It's... I just don't think they're up to the standard of a premiership,
00:41:42of a premier league in Scotland.
00:41:44Who's the best referee in Scotland?
00:41:50If you're listening to the podcast, we're still here.
00:41:54Again, it's a tough one.
00:41:55Was it Nick Walsh?
00:41:57Probably.
00:41:59Ruffey?
00:42:00Yeah, I'd probably go to Nick Walsh, yeah.
00:42:02I mean, it's a sad state of affairs.
00:42:05We've got four really experienced ones,
00:42:07and there's a few of them now coming in,
00:42:10trying to get to that level,
00:42:11so they're going to be under a lot of pressure.
00:42:13But for me, it's VAR that's complicating everything.
00:42:16Let's talk about the cards in.
00:42:18So the first one...
00:42:18The first one...
00:42:19You asked me about the first one.
00:42:21Yeah, aye.
00:42:21The first one, I thought he'd lost control of the ball.
00:42:23I don't think he was ever getting it.
00:42:25It was a foul at the end of the box,
00:42:27but I wouldn't have...
00:42:28This is the one that Aberdeen scored from?
00:42:31The very...
00:42:31Yes.
00:42:32Yeah, so he's got a red card.
00:42:33I thought it was a free kick, no.
00:42:34No?
00:42:35No, for me, no.
00:42:35You're not having it, Tom?
00:42:36I thought he...
00:42:37I didn't think it was a red card either.
00:42:39A, I didn't think he was getting on the end of the ball.
00:42:40I thought it was an accidental slip.
00:42:42Right.
00:42:42I don't think he's been...
00:42:43Remember, accidental slip doesn't come into it.
00:42:45I know, but...
00:42:46I don't think he was getting the ball.
00:42:47I don't think he was getting the ball,
00:42:49so I don't think...
00:42:49So you got the first card wrong.
00:42:50I thought the first one was a yellow.
00:42:52All right, what about the second one?
00:42:53Stonewall red.
00:42:54Yeah.
00:42:54For the Aberdeen boy,
00:42:55it nearly took his nuts off.
00:42:56Yes.
00:42:57Third one.
00:42:58No.
00:42:59Tom, I think Steve McGinn said,
00:43:00you'd have got there.
00:43:01That's a fair point.
00:43:02What, and a Bugatti?
00:43:04No.
00:43:08I agree with him.
00:43:09Do you?
00:43:09What?
00:43:10I agree with him, man.
00:43:11I think he would have got...
00:43:12He's so far away from the goals, my God.
00:43:14I thought people would be shouting at us,
00:43:16what about the Falkirk one last week?
00:43:18Yeah, I know, I know.
00:43:19You know, I just...
00:43:19Do you think referees take into account
00:43:21the pace of the player that's going through?
00:43:23No, McGinn's got a point.
00:43:26See if it was Mixer,
00:43:27Pat O'Lean going through.
00:43:28Right, and I suspect Mixer was a great player
00:43:29who couldn't run.
00:43:30Yeah.
00:43:31Or it was D.D.R. Agath going through.
00:43:33Do you think they would look at that
00:43:34and go,
00:43:34he's getting that,
00:43:34he's not getting that?
00:43:35Do you think that comes in?
00:43:36They would.
00:43:37Well, listen by a way,
00:43:37remember this.
00:43:38They think they would.
00:43:39John Beaton wasn't thinking that.
00:43:40It was the VAR who...
00:43:41He's the wee boy,
00:43:42Ola Sanu's quick.
00:43:43Yeah.
00:43:45Yeah, I mean, listen,
00:43:46there are so many different areas.
00:43:48I'm saying to you...
00:43:48I've seen somebody saying
00:43:49the goalkeeper was half his line.
00:43:51Yeah.
00:43:53He hit Chip at first time.
00:43:54That's a goal.
00:43:54So an opportunity.
00:43:55It was a red card.
00:43:57I thought he got his initial one right.
00:43:59Yellow.
00:43:59I thought it was a yellow.
00:44:01I thought it was harsh.
00:44:01What did you mean by that?
00:44:03He's giving you...
00:44:03He's giving you...
00:44:04He's giving you the balance
00:44:06that we should on this one
00:44:07to actually say
00:44:08he wasn't a red card.
00:44:09Do you think,
00:44:10as Jen's Bertha Lasko
00:44:12pointed out today,
00:44:13do you think
00:44:14full-time referees
00:44:15makes a difference
00:44:15to viewing that?
00:44:16No, I don't.
00:44:17Because I know
00:44:17the full-time referees
00:44:19do put in a fair shift
00:44:20fitness-wise.
00:44:21They train regularly
00:44:22to get to a level of decisions.
00:44:22Yeah, but we're not talking about fitness.
00:44:24Will full-time decisions,
00:44:26will full-time referees
00:44:27have less distractions
00:44:30from other jobs
00:44:32where they are in
00:44:33and they've got
00:44:34a greater chance
00:44:35to have
00:44:36greater counselling
00:44:38on the laws of the game
00:44:39on a regular basis
00:44:40that they're looking at it,
00:44:42there's greater study time.
00:44:43It's not about fitness.
00:44:45I mean,
00:44:45because at the end of the day
00:44:46there are some really good
00:44:47fit referees
00:44:48who are rank rotten.
00:44:49I would hazard a guess
00:44:51that most of the referees
00:44:52do know the rules of the game.
00:44:53I'm not suggesting
00:44:54they don't, Robbie.
00:44:55I think the fact is
00:44:56that we don't know
00:44:57the inter,
00:44:58you know,
00:44:59the sections.
00:44:59That's not the point.
00:45:00I'm talking about
00:45:01the concentration of them.
00:45:02I think the referee
00:45:03goes out there
00:45:04to referee the game.
00:45:05I think a lot of the stuff
00:45:07falls flat on his face
00:45:08because the players don't.
00:45:10The players don't know
00:45:10the rules of the game
00:45:11and they think
00:45:12like the ones
00:45:13that we are talking about,
00:45:14a bit of the players
00:45:15think,
00:45:15oh, that was a definite red card.
00:45:17You can see them
00:45:18all go and get him off.
00:45:19You know,
00:45:20and it's not a red card.
00:45:20You're going to do that.
00:45:21You're going to try
00:45:21and get him the advantage
00:45:22and you know
00:45:22you're going to go
00:45:23get him off.
00:45:24I mean,
00:45:26I think the referees
00:45:27come under too much.
00:45:28Well,
00:45:29I'll tell you one thing
00:45:29and we did mention it
00:45:31in midweek as well
00:45:32is it's going to become
00:45:33more poisonous
00:45:34as we get towards
00:45:35the end of the season
00:45:36because they will
00:45:38be going...
00:45:40The two Rangers-Celtic games
00:45:42are going to be
00:45:44on a knife edge.
00:45:46See if you turn around
00:45:47and go,
00:45:47by the way,
00:45:47here is the announcement
00:45:48who's refereeing it.
00:45:50You'd actually be sitting there
00:45:51going,
00:45:51oh no,
00:45:51I don't need that
00:45:52because I need to
00:45:53batten down the hatches
00:45:53for my family.
00:45:54I'll then need to make sure
00:45:56that nobody can see
00:45:57my family tree,
00:45:58what school I went to,
00:45:59you name it.
00:46:00They'll all be throwing it
00:46:01out there
00:46:01because the whole thing
00:46:02has become poisonous.
00:46:04But,
00:46:05nevertheless,
00:46:07Aberdeen against Dundee.
00:46:09This is a tricky one.
00:46:10You know,
00:46:11Tony Doherty
00:46:12in there.
00:46:13Stephen Preston
00:46:13says he's looking forward to it.
00:46:14I thought he was very
00:46:15complimentary towards him
00:46:17saying it's nice
00:46:18to see him back in
00:46:18because,
00:46:19you know,
00:46:19sometimes you can be
00:46:20completely and utterly
00:46:21forgotten.
00:46:22And I look at it
00:46:23and I say to myself,
00:46:25Dundee,
00:46:25I was up in Dundee
00:46:27yesterday.
00:46:28And,
00:46:29you know,
00:46:29Dundee fans
00:46:30have changed.
00:46:31They're happy with the way
00:46:32Presley's gone about
00:46:33his business.
00:46:33No surprise,
00:46:34Peter,
00:46:34because they're getting
00:46:35results and they're
00:46:36playing good football.
00:46:37And I don't think
00:46:38they've got a great record
00:46:39at Bataudry
00:46:40right enough.
00:46:41And Aberdeen
00:46:41will take a lot of
00:46:42confidence from the other
00:46:42night.
00:46:43You know,
00:46:43beating Motherwell,
00:46:44you know,
00:46:44OK,
00:46:45there was a couple
00:46:45of sendings off,
00:46:46but I thought Aberdeen
00:46:47created opportunities
00:46:48and played well
00:46:48on the night.
00:46:49And I'm glad for
00:46:50Tony Doherty
00:46:51because I don't think
00:46:51he was a problem
00:46:52at Ross County.
00:46:53I think you're now
00:46:53seeing a succession
00:46:54of managers
00:46:54going up there
00:46:55and struggling.
00:46:55I think the players
00:46:56are the problem
00:46:56at Ross County.
00:46:57So I would give,
00:46:59you know,
00:46:59I would give Tony a bye
00:47:00in terms of Ross County.
00:47:02So I'm glad to see
00:47:02him back in at Aberdeen
00:47:03helping Peter Levin.
00:47:04And I don't know,
00:47:06I just think Aberdeen
00:47:06might win this.
00:47:07I know,
00:47:08I just think that
00:47:09maybe get a wee bit
00:47:10of momentum
00:47:10from that game
00:47:11during the week.
00:47:11And I think they played
00:47:12well against Motherwell
00:47:12at first part.
00:47:13So I'll go for 2-1
00:47:14to Aberdeen.
00:47:14Yeah,
00:47:15I'm going to go a draw.
00:47:15Ruffy 1-1.
00:47:16I'm going to go
00:47:17Aberdeen 2-1.
00:47:18What about Aberdeen
00:47:19in the cup
00:47:20against Ferman?
00:47:22Adam Ferman.
00:47:23Adam Ferman.
00:47:24Yeah.
00:47:25No,
00:47:25Adam Ferman are not
00:47:26coming up to scratch.
00:47:27They lost another picture.
00:47:28They're a funny team
00:47:29Adam Ferman.
00:47:29They're very inconsistent.
00:47:31Yeah,
00:47:31I know that
00:47:32on the day
00:47:33they turned up
00:47:34and won the last round.
00:47:35But it's got to be
00:47:37a tough one.
00:47:38There's no doubt about it.
00:47:38I think it'll be
00:47:39very, very close.
00:47:40Yeah,
00:47:41Aurora says,
00:47:41bring on Adam Ferman.
00:47:42PLZ will have
00:47:43them as favourites.
00:47:47Oh dear.
00:47:48Mate was down
00:47:48at Adam Ferman
00:47:49mopping.
00:47:49I don't think
00:47:50Adam Ferman
00:47:50were rotting
00:47:51the other night.
00:47:51So I don't think
00:47:52they'll be favourites.
00:47:53Here's a good one
00:47:54from Paul
00:47:54who's sent us a message
00:47:55Peter,
00:47:56could you ask Ruffie
00:47:56if he was ever
00:47:57booked as a player?
00:47:58You ever yellow carded?
00:48:00Time wasting?
00:48:00Something like that?
00:48:01Yeah,
00:48:01I did.
00:48:02I remember who it was.
00:48:04Bob Valentine.
00:48:13Bob Valentine was the referee.
00:48:15I was up in the top goal.
00:48:17The ball,
00:48:18the wind kept blowing
00:48:20the ball off
00:48:21the six yard line.
00:48:22What was the score
00:48:23at this point?
00:48:23We got beat 3-0.
00:48:24Five minutes to go.
00:48:26They weren't timelessing.
00:48:27They booked me for timelessing.
00:48:30Is that your only
00:48:31My exact words were
00:48:33What?
00:48:37Is that your only
00:48:38ever yellow card?
00:48:39I think so.
00:48:39That's bonkers,
00:48:40isn't it?
00:48:41He was actually
00:48:42a really nice man.
00:48:43He was,
00:48:43certainly was,
00:48:44yes.
00:48:44He's a good man.
00:48:45Good after dinner speaker
00:48:46as well.
00:48:46And, of course,
00:48:47a great judge of character.
00:48:48You were wasting time,
00:48:49typically you.
00:48:51So there you are,
00:48:52Paul,
00:48:52I've asked
00:48:52and you've got
00:48:53your answer on it.
00:48:55So,
00:48:55we've got Aberdeen
00:48:56Dundee draw.
00:48:57You've got
00:48:58Aberdeen to win.
00:48:59Aberdeen to win.
00:49:00Okay.
00:49:01Dundee right it
00:49:01against Kilmarnock.
00:49:03Neil McCann says
00:49:04that he doesn't have
00:49:05to motivate the players
00:49:06to get up for this game
00:49:07because the performance
00:49:08against Celtic,
00:49:09I think they can take
00:49:10great heart from it.
00:49:11I certainly agree
00:49:12with Neil
00:49:13in the first half performance.
00:49:15I thought they were,
00:49:16I thought they were at it
00:49:18and the only problem
00:49:19I have and I feel
00:49:20really sorry for him
00:49:20is Tyrese John-Jules
00:49:23thigh injury
00:49:23could be a problem.
00:49:25Yeah,
00:49:25that's going to be
00:49:26an enormous miss for them.
00:49:27He's been flying,
00:49:27I think he's got four goals
00:49:28in the last two games
00:49:29so if he's not playing it
00:49:31just maybe tips it
00:49:32in favour.
00:49:32I've done the United,
00:49:33I watched the highlights
00:49:33of their game against Spartans,
00:49:34the part's terrible.
00:49:36That's no fault
00:49:36of the United
00:49:37they've had a lot of rain
00:49:38up there
00:49:38but the pitch is like a bog.
00:49:40There's not going to be
00:49:41any football played
00:49:41in this fixture
00:49:42in this game on Saturday
00:49:44and it's going to be
00:49:44back to front
00:49:45and it's going to be
00:49:45a battle.
00:49:46Who do you think
00:49:47is better equipped
00:49:48for that?
00:49:48Probably Commandland
00:49:49so go for Commandland
00:49:50to win 2-1.
00:49:51I can't quite work out
00:49:52Dundee United,
00:49:53Ruffy,
00:49:53because earlier on
00:49:56in the season
00:49:56when I was up there
00:49:57watching them
00:49:57on two or three occasions
00:49:59I think I was up
00:49:59for out of the month
00:50:01three times
00:50:01to watch them
00:50:03and sometimes
00:50:03they're really good
00:50:04and then they're just
00:50:05dropped off
00:50:06and Jim Goodwin's
00:50:08never got consistency to it.
00:50:09He brought about
00:50:10three or four lone players
00:50:11in and they made
00:50:12a great impact
00:50:13right at the start.
00:50:13They were scoring
00:50:14great goals
00:50:15and everyone was rosy
00:50:16and then they had
00:50:17that wee dip
00:50:17four or five games
00:50:19without getting in.
00:50:21He'll be very fortunate
00:50:22to get by Spartans
00:50:23during the week there.
00:50:24That's one they'd want
00:50:25to continue to do
00:50:26but I think at home
00:50:29they've got certain
00:50:30players in there
00:50:30who I think
00:50:32are good enough
00:50:32to beat
00:50:33Kilmarnock
00:50:342-1.
00:50:34Yeah, I'm going to go
00:50:35with Kelly
00:50:36to get the 2-1.
00:50:37I'll go for Kelly
00:50:38to win, I.
00:50:38Yeah, last one
00:50:40St Mirren
00:50:40against Motherwell.
00:50:44Motherwell
00:50:45have gone.
00:50:46You what?
00:50:46It's a season
00:50:47bubble bust.
00:50:49It's a bubble bust.
00:50:50You couldn't
00:50:53what are you thinking?
00:50:54Oh, I don't, I mean
00:50:57I've always been
00:50:57a big fan
00:50:59right at the beginning
00:51:00I like the way
00:51:01they played
00:51:01I like the enthusiasm
00:51:03they showed
00:51:03I just can't
00:51:04understand
00:51:05I'd love to know
00:51:06the last time
00:51:07a team won
00:51:08a National Cup
00:51:09and then went
00:51:10there on a slide.
00:51:11Yeah, the other thing
00:51:12I can't understand
00:51:13that at all.
00:51:14I think he said
00:51:14he'll probably go back
00:51:16to trying to get
00:51:17the same style
00:51:18earlier on in the season
00:51:19if he gets some
00:51:20of his injured players back
00:51:21Stephen Robinson
00:51:22Yeah, I think they've
00:51:23missed a couple
00:51:24of key players, Peter
00:51:24I don't think
00:51:25there's any doubt
00:51:25about that
00:51:26I think Mark Kahara
00:51:27has been a big miss
00:51:27for him being out injured
00:51:29Bacchus
00:51:29Bacchus as well
00:51:30I just think that
00:51:31Motherwell won this
00:51:32I don't know
00:51:33I'm not convinced
00:51:34for St Mirren
00:51:34every time I watched him
00:51:36they don't create
00:51:37a lot of opportunities
00:51:37I think Motherwell
00:51:39the other night
00:51:40with ten men
00:51:40nine men
00:51:40created opportunities
00:51:41they go and attack
00:51:42they want to go forward
00:51:43and score
00:51:44goals
00:51:44so I think Motherwell
00:51:45have too much
00:51:45in the finals
00:51:46for St Mirren
00:51:49I'll go for
00:51:492-0 to Motherwell
00:51:512-0 to Motherwell
00:51:52at St Mirren
00:51:53Yes
00:51:53Well, I'm going to
00:51:54go tighter than that
00:51:552-1 Ruffy
00:51:55what are you going for?
00:51:56Motherwell
00:51:56Yeah
00:51:57No, I'm going to
00:51:58go the opposite way
00:51:58What?
00:51:59I think things are
00:52:00going to turn
00:52:00just like last week
00:52:02we'd done the United
00:52:02at Falkirk
00:52:04I'm going to go
00:52:04St Mirren to win
00:52:05You actually hate
00:52:08good football
00:52:08you hate
00:52:09just want
00:52:10You went to Motherwell
00:52:11that day with me
00:52:12just to see
00:52:13if they were going
00:52:13to be ranked
00:52:14rotten
00:52:14I knew
00:52:15No, they were
00:52:15very good
00:52:15I thought they were
00:52:16very good
00:52:172-1 to St Mirren
00:52:17with no evidence
00:52:18whatsoever
00:52:19just a gut feeling
00:52:20I want them
00:52:21I want them not
00:52:21to be in the
00:52:21relegation battle
00:52:22OK
00:52:23there you are
00:52:24and I have to say
00:52:26sometimes
00:52:28Bob says
00:52:29Peter, do you ever
00:52:30criticise your mate
00:52:30Lenny?
00:52:31Bob
00:52:32if you
00:52:34have mates
00:52:36you have to
00:52:37take a long
00:52:38hard look at yourself
00:52:39Basically the answer's
00:52:39no
00:52:42I actually have
00:52:43The answer's no
00:52:43I actually have
00:52:44Bob
00:52:45I've been critical
00:52:46because as a journalist
00:52:47you've got to see
00:52:49games and look at
00:52:50things and
00:52:52pass comment on it
00:52:53Very critical in the
00:52:54Covid season
00:52:55I think he's
00:52:56battered me a few
00:52:57times
00:52:57he's had a few
00:52:58words with me
00:52:59but listen
00:53:00at the end of the
00:53:00day
00:53:00you know Bob
00:53:02it's like this
00:53:03you call it
00:53:03as you see it
00:53:04and hopefully
00:53:04on this programme
00:53:05we try to be
00:53:07as fair as possible
00:53:07and sometimes
00:53:08if people are
00:53:09deceitful Bob
00:53:10and tell fibs
00:53:12then we have
00:53:13to call them
00:53:14up and
00:53:15you know
00:53:15just basically
00:53:16say to them
00:53:16stop telling
00:53:17lies
00:53:17and you're
00:53:19a prime
00:53:20candidate
00:53:20Ruffy
00:53:20because Bob
00:53:21says
00:53:22Ruffy was
00:53:23booked in
00:53:23Sunnis's
00:53:24first game
00:53:24versus
00:53:25Hibs
00:53:25that's why
00:53:26he wasn't
00:53:27involved in
00:53:27the 21
00:53:28man brawl
00:53:28ask him
00:53:29I think
00:53:30he's forgotten
00:53:31Ruffy
00:53:32do you want
00:53:32to offer
00:53:32the whole
00:53:33Have I got
00:53:34to get
00:53:34through this
00:53:35again
00:53:35You get
00:53:36booked
00:53:36The reason
00:53:38that I never
00:53:39get involved
00:53:39in this
00:53:40Dramash
00:53:40was I had
00:53:42already
00:53:42been
00:53:43booked
00:53:43What did he
00:53:44say five
00:53:44minutes ago
00:53:45I said
00:53:46was that
00:53:46your only
00:53:46yellow card
00:53:47in your
00:53:47career
00:53:48and you
00:53:48went
00:53:48yes
00:53:48That's a
00:53:49good point
00:53:51Hold my
00:53:52hands
00:53:53It's a sad
00:53:54decline
00:53:55Even on the
00:53:56show
00:53:56By the way
00:53:57the worst
00:53:57thing ever
00:53:58is for Bob
00:53:59to leather you
00:54:00because if you
00:54:01leave it open
00:54:01to Bob
00:54:02Bob's sitting
00:54:03on his computer
00:54:03going
00:54:05Well done
00:54:05Bob
00:54:06That's what
00:54:07we want
00:54:07a bit of
00:54:07good research
00:54:08The reason
00:54:12No Bob
00:54:12the reason
00:54:13you're correct
00:54:13I was booked
00:54:14before the
00:54:15soonest
00:54:16Dramash
00:54:16so I would
00:54:17have been
00:54:17sent off
00:54:18Yes
00:54:19I was going
00:54:20to get
00:54:20involved
00:54:20anyway
00:54:20That's a
00:54:21very good
00:54:22point
00:54:22because this
00:54:23It's a
00:54:23fair distance
00:54:23to run
00:54:24Yeah
00:54:24and of course
00:54:25you didn't
00:54:25like the
00:54:26whole thing
00:54:26about
00:54:27fighting
00:54:28because you
00:54:29were a
00:54:30coward
00:54:30The other
00:54:31thing I was
00:54:31going to say
00:54:32to you
00:54:32okay we've
00:54:33got a good
00:54:33weekend of
00:54:34football in
00:54:34the Scottish
00:54:35Premiership
00:54:35I'm really
00:54:36looking forward
00:54:36to it
00:54:37It'll be
00:54:37fantastic
00:54:38Don't forget
00:54:39if you want
00:54:39to stay up
00:54:39to date
00:54:40with it
00:54:40download the
00:54:40PLZ Soccer
00:54:41app and
00:54:42you'll get
00:54:42all the
00:54:43breaking news
00:54:43at your
00:54:43fingertips
00:54:44and over
00:54:45and above
00:54:45that I'm
00:54:47looking
00:54:47at some
00:54:48of the
00:54:48things that
00:54:49have been
00:54:49going on
00:54:49I just
00:54:50looked at
00:54:51the Champions
00:54:51League in
00:54:51midweek
00:54:52Are you
00:54:53watching it
00:54:53as religiously
00:54:54time
00:54:54I've not
00:54:55watched
00:54:55the Champions
00:54:55League
00:54:56I've not
00:54:56watched
00:54:56the highlights
00:54:57No
00:54:58It's lost
00:54:59its
00:55:00sparkle
00:55:01Not even
00:55:02Paris Saint-Germain
00:55:03No
00:55:04I'm not
00:55:04watching any
00:55:05Champions League
00:55:05football
00:55:05I've very rarely
00:55:06watched
00:55:06Premiership
00:55:07football
00:55:07I just
00:55:07watch
00:55:07Scottish
00:55:08football
00:55:08I don't
00:55:09think we
00:55:10have the same
00:55:11number of
00:55:11big names
00:55:12that we want
00:55:13to see
00:55:13You mean the
00:55:14Messis and the
00:55:14Ronaldo's that
00:55:15brought it to
00:55:15life
00:55:15There's the
00:55:16Dan's and
00:55:16the Ronaldinho's
00:55:17entertainers
00:55:18I think all
00:55:18these big names
00:55:21There will be
00:55:23What's his name
00:55:24Real Madrid
00:55:26Bappi
00:55:26No
00:55:27The wee winger
00:55:27Vinicius Junior
00:55:29These ones are
00:55:31emerging
00:55:33Bappi's and
00:55:33all them
00:55:34have been about
00:55:34for ages
00:55:35There's nobody
00:55:36Nobody grabs you
00:55:37I'm the same
00:55:38I must admit
00:55:39I do like
00:55:40watching the
00:55:41Champions League
00:55:42game but I
00:55:43would say this
00:55:43and I agree
00:55:43with you Tam
00:55:44It's slightly
00:55:45waned
00:55:47the attraction
00:55:48of it at the
00:55:49moment
00:55:49There's a little
00:55:49bit of a lull
00:55:50I wonder what
00:55:51the figures are
00:55:52like
00:55:52You used to get
00:55:53the games on
00:55:54STV and
00:55:54Terrestrial TV
00:55:55You still get
00:55:56the Champions
00:55:56League on BBC
00:55:57Highlights
00:55:58But it's not
00:55:59quite the same
00:56:01Bodo Glimpt
00:56:02We did mention
00:56:03them earlier on
00:56:04but I think
00:56:04they deserve
00:56:05tremendous credit
00:56:05albeit it's only
00:56:06the first leg
00:56:07of the knockout
00:56:07but to beat
00:56:09Inter Milan 3-1
00:56:10is good going
00:56:11I mean
00:56:13Knutson
00:56:15deserves tremendous
00:56:16credit
00:56:17It's amazing
00:56:18that somebody
00:56:19has not
00:56:19pinched him
00:56:20for there
00:56:20but I'm
00:56:21assuming
00:56:21that he's
00:56:22getting
00:56:22percentages
00:56:22of the
00:56:23transfer
00:56:23fees
00:56:24Steady now
00:56:25Steady
00:56:25Have we still
00:56:26get the usual
00:56:28four English
00:56:28clubs in
00:56:30the latter
00:56:31stages
00:56:31Yes
00:56:32Usually as a
00:56:34bee in your
00:56:34bonnet
00:56:36Listen I said
00:56:37to you before
00:56:37the problem
00:56:38is some
00:56:39people are
00:56:39actually
00:56:40mortgaging
00:56:41and remortgaging
00:56:42their whole
00:56:44financial plan
00:56:45because the
00:56:47danger is
00:56:47if you try
00:56:48and keep
00:56:49pace with
00:56:50the English
00:56:50clubs
00:56:50you'll come
00:56:51a cropper
00:56:52You've got to
00:56:54develop your
00:56:54own
00:56:55you've got to
00:56:55try and be
00:56:57clever in the
00:56:57transfer market
00:56:58because if you
00:56:59try and keep
00:57:00pace with them
00:57:00they're all in
00:57:01there
00:57:02You look in the
00:57:03European competitions
00:57:04the English clubs
00:57:05are all in there
00:57:05Even the Europa
00:57:10So it's a
00:57:11danger to try
00:57:12and match
00:57:13them financially
00:57:14Barcelona and
00:57:15Real Madrid
00:57:16literally had to
00:57:17do some
00:57:18really big
00:57:19deals to
00:57:20try and keep
00:57:21themselves at
00:57:21the forefront
00:57:22or they were
00:57:22going to lose
00:57:23pace to them
00:57:23Just on that
00:57:25point we've
00:57:25mentioned great
00:57:26credit to
00:57:27Bodo Glimt
00:57:29I thought the
00:57:30only downside
00:57:30was in midweek
00:57:31Jose Mourinho
00:57:32has been
00:57:32criticised heavily
00:57:33for not coming
00:57:35out and making
00:57:35a stance against
00:57:36his own
00:57:37player
00:57:38or at least
00:57:39offering an
00:57:40objective view
00:57:41on the need
00:57:42to stamp out
00:57:43racist remarks
00:57:44or any
00:57:45form of racism
00:57:48should be
00:57:48condemned
00:57:48Vinicius Junior
00:57:49at the moment
00:57:50is innocent
00:57:52until proven
00:57:52guilty
00:57:53I mean the
00:57:54Benfica player
00:57:55is innocent
00:57:56until proven
00:57:57guilty for his
00:57:58racist remark
00:57:59alleged towards
00:58:01Vinicius Junior
00:58:02but I don't
00:58:03think Jose
00:58:03covered himself
00:58:04in glory by
00:58:05trying to
00:58:06take the
00:58:07spotlight off
00:58:08his player
00:58:08by questioning
00:58:09Vinicius Junior's
00:58:11celebrations
00:58:11my god it was
00:58:12a great goal
00:58:13yeah it certainly
00:58:14was and you
00:58:15would like
00:58:15somebody like
00:58:17that you know
00:58:18somebody well
00:58:19renowned in the
00:58:19game you know
00:58:20to say look if
00:58:21there's any damage
00:58:22been done here
00:58:22we will look
00:58:23into it thoroughly
00:58:23and if he's found
00:58:24guilty he'll be
00:58:25dealt accordingly
00:58:26that's what you're
00:58:26looking for
00:58:27yeah
00:58:27but unfortunately
00:58:29it's sort of
00:58:30I just tried to
00:58:30push it another
00:58:32direction but
00:58:33let's hope if he
00:58:34did then he is
00:58:35found guilt
00:58:36because it went
00:58:37on too long
00:58:37remember it
00:58:38happened with a
00:58:39player that
00:58:39Rangers played
00:58:40Slavia Prague
00:58:41that just went on
00:58:42so long and so
00:58:44long you need to
00:58:44get to the top
00:58:45of these things
00:58:45my problem or
00:58:46even the bottom
00:58:47my problem is
00:58:49Prestiani
00:58:50putting his
00:58:52shirt over his
00:58:53mouth
00:58:53that didn't look
00:58:55good for him
00:58:56you know
00:58:56I just for
00:58:58the life of me
00:58:58I don't get
00:58:59why a player
00:59:00would make that
00:59:01up
00:59:01I'm not saying
00:59:02one way or
00:59:03another but
00:59:04what benefit
00:59:05does he have
00:59:06from making
00:59:08something like
00:59:08that up
00:59:08I think
00:59:09Vinicius Junior
00:59:10should be
00:59:10applauded for
00:59:11having the guts
00:59:13to actually say
00:59:13no I'm not
00:59:14going to stand
00:59:14for it
00:59:14you know
00:59:16but again we
00:59:17don't like to
00:59:17see it in our
00:59:18game and
00:59:19certainly I know
00:59:20a number of
00:59:21Celtic fans
00:59:23who will look
00:59:25and say to
00:59:25themselves
00:59:25if he's
00:59:27picked on
00:59:29Sunday
00:59:30on Saturday
00:59:31I think
00:59:31for the game
00:59:32against Hibs
00:59:33Sunday
00:59:33sorry
00:59:34I think a lot
00:59:35of Celtic fans
00:59:36will applaud
00:59:37Casper Schmeichel
00:59:38when he comes
00:59:38out
00:59:38because I
00:59:40you know
00:59:40I think
00:59:41you don't like
00:59:42to see fans
00:59:42well it says
00:59:43a lot about
00:59:43the person
00:59:44as an
00:59:44individual
00:59:45you know
00:59:45nobody likes
00:59:47to get booed
00:59:47by your own
00:59:48supporters
00:59:48you'll have to
00:59:49deal with that
00:59:49from now to
00:59:50Sunday
00:59:50there'll be a
00:59:53discussion between
00:59:54him and Martin
00:59:54a nail and
00:59:56it might be the
00:59:56best thing if
00:59:58he's actually
00:59:58worrying about it
00:59:59you think he'll
01:00:00get dropped
01:00:01yeah
01:00:02I do as well
01:00:03I think he'll
01:00:03get dropped
01:00:03I think he's
01:00:04got an injury
01:00:04I think he's
01:00:05got an injury
01:00:06and he's just
01:00:06doing his best
01:00:07to get through
01:00:08it but you
01:00:08can tell
01:00:09he's protecting
01:00:10that right
01:00:10hand side
01:00:11his shoulder
01:00:12here's the
01:00:14quiz question
01:00:15which of
01:00:16course
01:00:17relates to
01:00:18when I saw
01:00:19Anthony Gordon
01:00:19score four
01:00:20goals
01:00:20he actually
01:00:21lamented he
01:00:22should have
01:00:22scored six
01:00:23so which
01:00:24former Rangers
01:00:25player scored
01:00:25four goals in a
01:00:26Champions League
01:00:26match
01:00:28any
01:00:28have you got
01:00:29no I just
01:00:30somehow played
01:00:31against a
01:00:32Cyprus team
01:00:32or something
01:00:33like that
01:00:33unbelievable by
01:00:35the way
01:00:35no
01:00:37the answer is
01:00:38of course
01:00:39Dado Priscio
01:00:40who scored
01:00:41four for
01:00:41Monaco
01:00:42against Deportivo
01:00:43La Corina
01:00:44that was the
01:00:45answer we were
01:00:46looking for
01:00:46if anybody did
01:00:47get that
01:00:47congratulations to
01:00:48you
01:00:48what are you
01:00:49snidey
01:00:49I said which
01:00:51former Rangers
01:00:52player scored
01:00:53four in a
01:00:54Champions League
01:00:54match
01:00:55you know
01:00:56so there you
01:00:57are
01:00:59congratulations
01:00:59if you got
01:01:00that answer
01:01:01to the quiz
01:01:01enjoy your
01:01:02football over the
01:01:03weekend
01:01:03try and be
01:01:04decent about it
01:01:05and spare a
01:01:06thought for the
01:01:06players who are
01:01:07out there doing
01:01:08their absolute
01:01:09best
01:01:09let's hope
01:01:10there's no
01:01:10VAR decisions
01:01:11I know we'll be
01:01:12talking about what
01:01:13Willie Colum's got
01:01:14to say in his
01:01:15VAR appraisal of
01:01:17some of those
01:01:18contentious decisions
01:01:19which is out
01:01:19tonight but we'll
01:01:21discuss it on
01:01:22Monday as well as
01:01:23the outcome of
01:01:23the games on
01:01:24Saturday and
01:01:25Sunday thanks to
01:01:26Ruffy thanks to
01:01:27Tam thanks to
01:01:27Bob for pointing
01:01:29out that Ruffy
01:01:29had been booked
01:01:30twice we need
01:01:32people who
01:01:32research these
01:01:33things have a
01:01:34great weekend

01:01:39sorry Bob
01:01:41have a great
01:01:42weekend support
01:01:43your team

01:01:49Peter Martin
01:01:50thank you for
01:01:50listening thank you
01:01:51for watching
01:01:51you
