For his Fall/Winter 2026 collection, Dennis Basso looked to the sophistication and allure of New York evenings, channeling the timeless elegance of style icons such as Nan Kempner, C.Z. Guest, and Pat Buckley. The result is a lineup that feels both glamorous and assured--an homage to the ritual of dressing up for a night in the city. 'In this collection we've worked with gazar and tweed, hand-embroidered brocade, feather detailing, chiffon, beautiful silk and charmeuse--and we've incorporated a great deal of velvet as well,' Basso said. The rich interplay of textures and fabrics underscores the collection's sense of refinement and drama. Basso also gravitated toward a predominantly black-and-white, monochromatic palette for the season, reinforcing the line's polished, graphic appeal. Ultimately, the collection celebrates the moment of stepping out--when confidence, beauty, and impeccable style converge. 'Fashion should make you look good, but it should also make you feel good--that was my objective with this collection,' he shared.

00:00Hi, I'm Dennis Basso, and you're watching Life Minute TV.
00:09This whole collection was based on a tribute to New York City and going out and stepping out in style.
00:15The house in Basso has always been known for evening and specialty or occasion dressing,
00:21and I took this opportunity for this collection to celebrate New York and fashion in the evening and feeling special.
00:31There's a lot of sort of vintage-inspired things I'm seeing, like cropped little jackets and lovely, beautiful dresses and
00:38skirts with a bit of volume.
00:39He has all the modern elements, the nude, but yet you're not showing off too much, you know, and his
00:46pieces are just timeless. I love it.
00:48What I love is the individuality of everyone, how, you know, in the past everyone was kind of walking the
00:55same walk. Now, clearly, we don't do that anymore.
01:02In this collection, we've done gazaar and tweed. Actually, in this particular promotion, this is a dress. It's all one
01:08piece.
01:09This is a gazaar skirt with a beautiful tweed embellished fabric at the top that creates a jacket look.
01:15We've done hand-embroided on brocade, some feather detailing, chiffon, beautiful silks and charmeuse, and we've also incorporated a lot
01:25of velvet in this collection, which is very nice.
01:28I'm always very partial to black and white. A monochromatic or something tonal sort of sets the tone for a
01:34better look.
01:35I believe in that you need to dress appropriately to your age and to your figure type, and I think
01:40that's important.
01:41Whether you're curvy or very petite, I think you should wear things that complement you.
01:46Fashion should make you look good, but it also should make you feel good, and that was sort of my
01:51objective with this whole collection.
01:53All right.
01:58We'll see you next time.
