Fractured Reality is the second song on my instrumental progressive rock album, Eight Dimensions. Structurally, the song is built between pure synthesizer parts and progressive hard rock sections, featuring a continuous improvised guitar solo.
Originally, Fractured Reality was intended to be the last song on the album because it has a great, concluding quality. But I decided against it; you'll hear why later.
The synthesizer parts are incredibly important here. Producing them and reducing them to the bare essentials was a challenge. Less really is more. The heavier passages were then relatively easy to compose.
