00:00It's like a growing discontent that you're constantly in each other's way.
00:05Rivalries are built when teams consistently meet when there is something on the line.
00:11And that is what has happened with these two.
00:13And I'll tell you, we get to sit back and enjoy it, Kevin.
00:16When you played, Doris, were those the most fun games for you as a player?
00:20No doubt. No doubt you wanted to beat that team that was always standing in your way.
00:25So then in the summertime, you had a little bragging right.
00:27And now the Lakers' starting group, Caldwell Pope and LeBron fill out the wings.
00:33JaVale McGee is out there with Ingram.
00:35And it's Rondo in at the point guard position.
00:37Now here's Caldwell Pope following the miss by Draymond Green.
00:41Caldwell Pope and contact on the shot.
00:44So he'll be shooting free throws here.
00:47And Caldwell Pope, the Georgia product, when he's on the floor, it's for his defense.
00:52Can give you a handful of points, but what he takes away with defense is far more significant.
00:59One of the better perimeter defenders since entering the league.
01:23That free throw, no good.
01:25And with Caldwell Pope and his defense, he can guard any type of perimeter player.
01:30Yeah, I mean, he has the long arms to bother small forwards and fast feet to stay with point guards.
01:35Really gives the lineup a lot of options in terms of matchups when he's on the floor.
01:40Great instincts on defense, and it's very hard to shake as he'll hound you from screen.
01:47Well, Greg, you knew that the Laker front office and Magic were going to do everything they could
01:51to bring in big-name free agents, and they succeeded.
01:53They got the biggest name of them all in LeBron.
01:56LeBron coming to L.A. completely shifts the mindset of this organization.
02:02The team was very busy the rest of the free agent period as well.
02:07Still made very aggressive plays as this is a team that is looking to win now.
02:13Nice shot by James.
02:15Remarkable catch-and-shoot sequence right there from LeBron.
02:18Just a killer instinct whenever he gets the ball.
02:24James against Durant.
02:27Passes it to Green.
02:33That one's in.
02:34His first bucket of the game.
02:35He's one for two.
02:36Wow, this is next level now.
02:38Draymond Green in the pick-and-roll with the ball in his hands.
02:40Really nice job there.
02:46Aldwell Pope feeling it out a bit.
02:50Fader on the way, and it's Durant with the rebound.
02:54You almost have to assume he's going to knock those down when he is that open.
03:00Kept alive.
03:01Kicking himself on that one.
03:03That is the shot he wanted.
03:05Well, that's usually money in the bank for that guy.
03:08Not sure how he missed that one.
03:11Left side Curry.
03:15Dishes it to Green.
03:21Good work there as it goes.
03:24Green's got his second basket.
03:26Draymond Green loves playing through contact.
03:29That is a nice finish.
03:34Curry against Rondo.
03:36Pass to Ingram.
03:41Down low.
03:43Here's McGee.
03:44And the slam dunk by McGee.
03:45And that's the kind of lead pass we've come to expect from him.
03:52And he finds Thompson.
03:57Curry against Rondo.
04:01Pass to Cousins.
04:06Outside for Curry.
04:07Clock at four.
04:08From deep.
04:10Bad shot.
04:11Off.
04:12And the Lakers will go the other way with it.
04:15Now the pass to Rondo.
04:17Curry with the steal.
04:19Here's Cousins.
04:20And Cousins throws it down.
04:22Well, you get a sense of the recognition from Steph Curry and how quickly he moves through his progressions.
04:28Because, boy, if you're open, he's going to give it to you.
04:31Now here's James.
04:33The 19-foot shot.
04:35And that's good for two.
04:37Heating up early on.
04:39This is exactly how he wanted to start the night.
04:41You're right.
04:42I mean, he's found his rhythm early.
04:44The defense has got to do a better job guarding him from this point on.
04:48Rondo against Curry.
04:49At the elbow, it's Cousins.
04:53It's Durant on the wing.
04:54Here's the three.
04:56And there's Steph and Curry on the assist by Durant.
04:59Curry's got five.
05:01Well, I'm not sure there's a player in the league with a better feel for that shot than Steph Curry.
05:05If he gets it off clean, you know it's going in.
05:08So, timeout called here.
05:10The first for Los Angeles.
05:12So much of being a scorer is finding ways to get open without the ball, of course.
05:16And there are a lot of guys that do that very well in the league right now.
05:19Well, you think back to guys like Ray Allen, who have retired in the last five to six years.
05:24He was one of the all-time bests.
05:26You think back to the Detroit Pistons teams and Rip Hamilton.
05:30They set the stage for today's generation.
05:33Guys like Klay Thompson and Kyle Korver, who are relentless in their motion and sometimes do it randomly outside of
05:41the context of the offense.
05:42They're just, because they've done it so often, the kind of movement they create puts tremendous stress on your defense.
06:08And some changes here for the Warriors.
06:11Jordan Bell's checked in for Green.
06:13Iguodala comes in for Kevin Durant.
06:15And McCaw has subbed in for Klay Thompson.
06:17Big group substitution here for the Lakers.
06:20Kyle Kuzma's checked in for JaVale McGee.
06:23Grant Stephenson comes in for Brandon Ingram.
06:25Josh Hart, he's checked in for Caldwell Pope.
06:27And it's Lonzo Ball in for Rajon Rondo.
06:30And that one's Good Cousin.
06:32Oh, this is the kind of start they were hoping for.
06:36Lakers trail by seven.
06:39Ball kicks to Hart.
06:40Floats it up for Jane.
06:42Up high to stuff the alley-oop.
06:44A history of great finishers in NBA history.
06:48But LeBron will top the list before it's all said and done.
06:52And that was an Unleashed Chaos moment indeed.
06:54What a spectacular play.
06:56Sponsored by Under Armour Hover Hatton.
07:00Now, here's Cousins.
07:01Shakes off the strong D and gets to the bucket for two.
07:05And there's a pattern starting to take shape here.
07:08They're working it inside and getting good shots from close range.
07:13Passes it to James.
07:16LeBron has doubled.
07:17And we're going to have a jump ball.
07:18It's tied up there.
07:30And here is Los Angeles now.
07:34Back to Kuzma.
07:36Yes!
07:37It's James picking up the assist.
07:40Kuzma's got his first basket.
07:41Boy, Kev, those are the instincts of LeBron James that we're witnessing.
07:45Just terrific at sensing when the defense has left one of his guys open.
07:50Here's McCall.
07:52Still getting warmed up offensively.
07:54No scoring yet from him.
07:58Ball against Curry.
08:00He kicks it to Bell.
08:02Four on the clock.
08:05Here's Iguodala.
08:06Good D by Stevenson.
08:09Lakers trail by five.
08:12And the foul on Jordan Bell.
08:15That's his first foul.
08:17Sean Livingston, he's checked in for Steph Curry.
08:19And Los Angeles making a change here as well.
08:22Michael Beasley.
08:23He's checked in for James.
08:35Here's Kuzma.
08:37In the corner.
08:38It's Stevenson.
08:40Kicks it to Ball.
08:46He feeds it to Beasley.
08:48And the shot goes in.
08:50And they've scored several times already here in the first quarter on the inside.
08:58Now here's Livingston.
09:00He's covered by Ball.
09:05Livingston looking for the opening.
09:09Pass to Cousins.
09:11With four seconds on the clock.
09:14And yep, finally drops after rolling around the rim.
09:17Cousins has got eight points.
09:18And Cousins just a very consistent score.
09:22Effortlessly getting off the ground to sink these shots.
09:26DeMarcus Cousins, he's been the guy making things happen for the Golden State Warriors.
09:31He notched eight points in the quarter and has that terrific basketball instinct on display.
09:35We've got more NBA basketball coming your way in just a minute.
09:59The arrival certainly of Kevin Durant fortified an already great Warriors team.
10:04Teammate Steph Curry spoke about what KD brings to the table.
10:10He gives us a different dynamic that we can count on.
10:13He's obviously an all-world talent that does things on the court that not many people can do.
10:18You know, he's hungry.
10:19Just like the rest of us to get to that stage again and get back on top.
10:23You know, Greg, KD and Steph are a lethal combination for sure.
10:27Nearly impossible to guard.
10:28I mean, both former MVPs and with the talent surrounding them, a chance to make history.
10:38And hope you've enjoyed the broadcast so far.
10:41Halfway through the first half in this one.
10:43And taking a look at the Warriors' performance here, guys.
10:46What are your thoughts?
10:46I mean, an interesting first quarter.
10:49The pressure D seems to be causing a lot of turnover.
10:51It feels like they're getting a lot of deflections, hands-on basketballs resulting into steals.
10:57This has been pretty to watch.
10:59And a chance here presented by Gatorade to see who's on the floor.
11:03All fueled up and ready to go for the start of the second quarter.
11:06Setting the floor for the Warriors.
11:08They've got McCaw.
11:10Bell is out there with Iguodala.
11:12Then there's DeMarcus Cousins.
11:13And it's Livingston in at the point guard.
11:16And so it's Golden State with it.
11:18Following the three by the Lakers.
11:23And Cousins kicks to Livingston.
11:25Four on the shot clock.
11:27Again, Golden State.
11:28Boy, how crafty is Sean Livingston getting into space in the mid-range.
11:33This is his game right here.
11:36And Sean Livingston, one of the most unique players in the league, Greg.
11:39Six, seven point guard who excels hitting turnaround jumpers in the post.
11:44A bouncy finisher around the rim.
11:46A versatile defender.
11:47And really a cagey playmaker.
11:49No one else like him in our league.
11:51Okay, well let's check in with David Aldridge who's recording from the sidelines.
11:56Kevin, the league has unveiled a five-point plan to improve player-referee relations.
12:01Things became heated last season with a lot of star players ejected for arguing with officials.
12:07The emphasis on respect and clear standards of conduct on both sides can only help.
12:13Kevin?
12:14Very good point, David.
12:16Completely agree.
12:17Thanks.
12:18And the Warriors with some changes.
12:20Green, he's checked in for Cousins.
12:21Kevin Durant comes in for Jordan Bell.
12:24And it's Klay Thompson in for McCall.
12:26And Los Angeles making a change here as well.
12:29McGee's checked in.
12:31Now, here's Livingston.
12:32They lead by eight.
12:33That's the biggest of the game.
12:38Eight away.
12:39He's now one for two with that bucket.
12:41And they are earning points with the jump shot now.
12:46And the Lakers call time here.
12:48In the past, it has been suggested, Doris, that up-tempo teams couldn't maintain that style
12:54and then go on to win the playoffs.
12:56Is that an outdated theory and thought process?
12:58Well, I think it is always contingent on the team, Kevin.
13:02You think back to the Lakers showtime era when the reality is those were up-tempo, showtime-type teams, right?
13:09They could sustain it.
13:10But I think the fact of the matter is, the teams that sustain success are the ones that can play
13:16in virtually any style.
13:18Can they play up-tempo if you allow them?
13:20Certainly.
13:21But when the game slows, particularly in the playoffs and the postseason, can you execute in the half court?
13:27Because you've got to be able to play both ways, I think, to win in the modern NBA.
13:31Some changes here for the Lakers.
13:33Ingram, he's checked in for Beeson.
13:35Caldwell Pope comes in for Josh Hart.
13:38Arshon Rondo is subbed in for ball.
13:40Now here is McGee.
13:45Rondo scanning the floor.
13:48Back to Kuzma over Iguodala.
13:51And again, the Lakers, no good.
13:54And so Green will bring it up for Golden State.
13:57Durant just inside the line.
13:59No good off the back of the rim.
14:01Lakers trail by 10.
14:05To the inside, Durant with the steal.
14:12Green passes to Iguodala.
14:13And that's out of bounds.
14:15Golden State will retain possession.
14:17So close to getting the steal there, but the deflection equally as effective.
14:22Right.
14:22I mean, that's solid defense.
14:24At the very least, you like seeing them muck it up and make things difficult.
14:28Curry's checked in for Golden State.
14:30The Lakers also with a sub.
14:31James checked in for Kyle Kuzma.
14:34Thompson, that one falls.
14:36Coming off Iguodala's feed.
14:38Thompson's got his second bucket.
14:40Impressive.
14:41Really from that short 17 area.
14:43They are not missing many.
14:45And it's the Warriors.
14:47On the break.
14:48Curry's got the ball.
14:50Over Rondo.
14:52It's hauled in by Los Angeles.
14:54Now about three minutes gone in this second quarter of basketball.
15:02Pass to James.
15:07And Steph Curry with the foul.
15:10That is his first foul of the game.
15:12First foul.
15:21First foul.
15:25Rondo finds McGee.
15:30Caldwell Pope outside.
15:32It's stolen by Green.
15:33Tough to recover when you continue to turn the basketball over at this rate.
15:39Thompson dishes to Curry.
15:40The three.
15:41Another three for Golden State.
15:44And it just seems that every pass they make is leading to a score.
15:48Just great ball movement.
15:50And the Lakers call time here.
15:51And Kevin, they've been committing a lot of turnovers here.
15:55Taking care of the basketball is the number one priority right now in that huddle.
16:00They've got to tighten it up.
16:26And just over three and a half minutes played here in the second quarter.
16:33Rondo against Curry.
16:35James kicks to Caldwell Pope.
16:39Feeds it to Rondo.
16:41Curry with the steal.
16:44Here's Iguodala.
16:45Green breaking loose.
16:47And that one clearly a foul.
16:49Gets the whistle.
16:49And two shots coming up.
16:50It goes on Brandon Ingram.
16:52Well, I just love the hard-nosed attitude of Andre Iguodala.
16:56When he's on the interior, he's so good at getting the defense to foul him.
16:59Two, two.
17:12The free throw drops for Iguodala.
17:14And you look at Andre Iguodala, the first ever player to win a Finals MVP without starting a single game
17:21in the regular season.
17:22That tells you something about his unselfishness and, at the same time, his under-the-radar impact on winning.
17:29His willingness to accept that six-man role right from the beginning, I really feel, helped set the tone in
17:36that Warriors locker room.
17:37Well, the veteran leadership, the unselfish attitude, and the versatility of Andre Iguodala, to me, this guy is excellent at
17:45whatever is asked of him.
17:47Now, here's James.
17:48He's got six.
17:50Count the basket.
17:50Really well done there.
17:52Just confident and composed, never in a hurry.
17:58Curry against Rondo.
18:00Curry passes to Thompson.
18:02Here's Durant.
18:04And the Warriors miss again.
18:06Now, that's where they want to go with the ball.
18:08They can tolerate a few misses as long as he gets his touches inside.
18:13Rondo kicks to Caldwell Pope.
18:18The pass to LeBron.
18:19Over Durant.
18:21And LeBron with the basket.
18:23The assist by Caldwell Pope.
18:25Ten points for LeBron.
18:27You know, if you're only looking at the way he's played offensively, you'd think his team would have the lead.
18:36On the wing, Iguodala, covered by LeBron.
18:39Here's Durant.
18:40Solid shot from the distance of about 14 feet.
18:43Durant's got his first points of the game.
18:45Timely passing leads to assist, and that's been the recipe for success.
18:54James looking it over.
18:59Outside Rondo.
19:03Shot clock at five.
19:04He dishes it to McGee.
19:08And the layup's good off the glass.
19:11McGee's got his second basket of the game.
19:13And really, it's been a major aspect of their offense in the early stages here.
19:18Their success working the ball inside and getting points from close range.
19:23Now here's Curry.
19:24Eight points for him.
19:26Passes it to Durant.
19:29Back to Curry.
19:31The three.
19:32That's good.
19:33And a nice assist from Durant.
19:34Curry's got a couple of three-pointers in the second for the Warriors.
19:38Well, he's kept them in balance tonight.
19:40This guy's shooting has put them in front.
19:45Pass to LeBron.
19:50Over Iguodala.
19:52And so it's the Golden State Warriors.
19:55With a sizable lead as the quarter wraps up, they're ahead 16 points.
20:00What a night they've had in terms of their shooting.
20:02Everything dropping in for them.
20:04And now we'll send it over to David Aldridge, who is standing by courtside.
20:08David.
20:11Thanks, Kevin.
20:12Joined here by Steve Kerr.
20:13Coach, great offense from your guys in the first half.
20:16What got you to lead?
20:19I started calling some great plays for Steph Curry.
20:24That's why you're the coach of the year, Steve.
20:26Thanks.
20:27Back to you, Kevin.
20:29All right, Dave, thank you.
20:30And time now for the halftime break with the third quarter soon to follow.
20:33Right here on 2K Sports.
20:38It's the 2K Sports Halftime Show.
20:42Welcome back to you, you, you, you, I guess.
20:50And not you.
20:51Not him?
20:52You.
20:53Oh, her.
20:53For sure.
20:54Them.
20:55Yes.
20:56This is Ernie Johnson.
20:58That's Kenny.
20:58That's Shaq.
20:59You're watching the NBA halftime show on 2K Sports.
21:03Golden State found themselves in a close game in the first.
21:06At the end of one, they were able to end up with a five-point lead.
21:10They just exploded in the second quarter, grabbing the momentum and running with it.
21:16Basket after basket, and they played stingy defense.
21:20Now they've got a halftime lead that's going to be very difficult to erase.
21:24Taking a look at the Warriors, Kenny, what'd you think?
21:26They've done a lot of things well, but the way they've taken care of the basketball,
21:30valuing each possession so critical to the tempo, so crucial to the offensive flow,
21:35they've got a great rhythm, as smart, and as safe as they're playing.
21:39They made it clear they're not going to beat themselves today.
21:42Shaq, what was your takeaway on the Lakers?
21:45Well, they gave up too many good looks.
21:47Look at the field goal percentage against them.
21:49This tells the whole story.
21:50Not enough activity defensively.
21:52Not enough disruption, Ernie.
21:54Like, Kenny disrupts me all the time.
21:56Not enough disruption.
21:58And that does it for our halftime show.
22:00We now take you back to Kevin Harlan for the start of the third period.
22:17Well, we've got a second half of basketball for you.
22:20We think it's going to be pretty good.
22:21A big comeback, though, is needed for this game to be competitive,
22:24and it probably has to happen quickly.
22:26Really an incredible game from Stephen Curry.
22:29I mean, he was prolific in that first half.
22:32You know it's coming, but it's just so tough to stop.
22:35And this is what he does, right, Greg?
22:37He's out there to score the basketball, and throughout that first half, he dominated.
22:44And there wasn't too much drama in the first half,
22:46but maybe things will tighten up here in the second.
22:49Warriors leading by 16, taking a look at Los Angeles.
22:53Rondo and Caldwell Pope in the backcourt.
22:56LeBron James is out there with Ingram.
22:58And it's McGee in at the five spot.
23:00And then Durant with the top.
23:02I think you can make a strong case that Draymond Green is the best passing four in the league.
23:07Unreal court vision.
23:09And here's James.
23:11He'll bring it up for the Los Angeles Lakers.
23:13I think one thing you think about when you talk about Steve Kerr is how much he has relished having
23:19an opportunity to coach an amazing collection of talent.
23:23He knows more, perhaps, than most that great players are required to be successful.
23:28That doesn't mean it's an easy job.
23:30You've got to manage expectations year after year.
23:38Out of bounds, Golden State takes possession.
23:40He gets a chance now to catch up with the fourth member of our crew, Hall of Famer David Aldridge.
23:45Well, of course, there's no shortage of storylines in Los Angeles.
23:49Now, last season, some people thought that Lakers coach Luke Walton had lost his players.
23:55And the front office seemed slow to come to his defense.
23:58Now, Walton was a high-profile hire from Golden State in 2016.
24:02And you wonder, the Lakers will remain committed to their young coach if they can't start winning more regularly.
24:09Kevin?
24:10All right, David, thank you.
24:12And or as you watch Kerr, he really has his own distinct coaching style.
24:17How about, Kevin, he once said that coaching is 90% creating environment and 10% strategy.
24:24Now, listen, we know this guy is tremendous with X and O's, but there's something helpful about his sense of
24:30humor and his upfront, honest approach.
24:34Take a break.
24:35Take a break.
24:36Two shots.
24:48The first one falls.
24:51LeBron signing a four-year deal with the Lakers.
24:54Greg Menny speculated it might happen, but it was still a shock to many.
24:58It makes sense from LeBron's standpoint.
25:01Son plays in L.A. for high school.
25:03LeBron has a lot of business interests as well.
25:07And also what's interesting is that when LeBron's contract ends, his son could potentially be coming into the NBA as
25:13a rookie.
25:14And both free throws good for LeBron.
25:16Don't you get the sense that LeBron James is in complete command, not only of himself, but of his teammates?
25:23The drive this guy possesses is truly incredible.
25:27Now here's Curry.
25:29He's got 11.
25:34Thompson looking for an opening.
25:39Golden State needs to get off a shot.
25:42Curry can't get it to go.
25:44Lakers trail by 16.
25:49LeBron outside over Durant.
25:52And Durant sends it back.
25:54But Kevin Durant is playing spectacular defense, and it sets the tone for the entire team.
26:00Continuing to push the action and build this lead.
26:04You can tell they've got their foot on the gas pedal right now.
26:08No slowing down.
26:09No slowing down.
26:09The defense starting to look helpless.
26:11Los Angeles calls timeout.
26:14The offensive prowess of Kevin Durant.
26:16We knew it even back in high school.
26:18But winning the NBA scoring title at age 21.
26:22Doris, that really sealed the deal.
26:24Yeah.
26:24In fact, Kevin becoming the youngest player to ever win a scoring title.
26:28He's obviously gone on to do it multiple times.
26:31And to me, where he's really advanced is his ability to make plays for the teammates around him.
26:37Kevin Durant prides himself on affecting winning at both ends of the floor.
26:48And the Warriors lift some changes.
26:50Bell is checked in for Draymond Green.
26:52And McCaw is subbed in for Thompson.
26:54Big group substitution here for the Lakers.
26:57Kyle Kuzma is checked in for JaVale McGee.
27:00And Stevenson comes in for Ingram.
27:02Josh Hart, he's checked in for Caldwell Pope.
27:04And it's Lonzo Ball in for Rajon Rondo.
27:07How about the strength on display there by Ball?
27:10Not the biggest guy out there.
27:12But he wills these shots in despite the physical contact.
27:17Sean Livingston, he's checked in for Steph Curry.
27:25One shot, gentlemen.
27:36That's good from Ball.
27:38Love his game or hate it.
27:40But there is no denying, Doris, that Lance Stevenson makes things happen on the floor.
27:45Just a pure creator when he has the basketball in his hands.
27:49Unbelievable handle.
27:51Sometimes gets creative on his way to the cup.
27:53But you love how he plays with such great passion and energy.
27:57Good.
27:59And at six points for Kevin Durant.
28:01The assist totals, Kevin, just continue to grow.
28:05They're way ahead in that category.
28:07Ball movement has been flawless.
28:10Now here's LeBron.
28:1212 points for him.
28:13Bucket is good.
28:15Ball's got five points now in the quarter.
28:16I'm a fan of how Ball uses that size inside.
28:21Excellent at getting his shot off close to the basket.
28:25Here's McCall.
28:26No points in the game yet for him.
28:29A fadeaway.
28:31No good on the shot.
28:32A bit long that time.
28:33Lakers trail by 15.
28:38Kuzma passes the ball.
28:41Cousins pulls it in.
28:43Golden State's gone three of five from beyond the arc so far tonight.
28:50And Lance Stevenson picks up the foul.
28:52That's his first foul.
28:54Oh man, that's, it's close.
28:56But, you know, didn't get on balance quick enough.
28:59First person foul.
29:00Team Spurs.
29:06Second half of play and we're three minutes into the third here.
29:11Lakers have gone two of four here to start the second half.
29:17Here's Durant.
29:18And two free throws coming up.
29:20Unable to get that one to go with all the contact.
29:22Well, you love how Durant goes into the contact.
29:25This guy is always looking for an opportunity to get to the foul line.
29:30You know, what you love about Kevin Durant is he has established himself as a top two player.
29:35But the reality is he's never forgotten where he's come from.
29:39His charity work.
29:40His commitment to the communities.
29:42And to the places that have shaped him.
29:44It's really kind of cool, Kevin.
29:51First one falls for him.
29:53And in 2013, there was a series of commercials calling Durant the nicest guy in the NBA.
29:59Well, let's remember, Kevin, at that time he was a beloved figure in Oklahoma City.
30:04He remains tight with a number of staff members there just because of the kind of person and the kind
30:09of professional he was.
30:10What you love about Kevin Durant is he's a top two player in the NBA.
30:14But in terms of his charity work, he is right there as well.
30:18Well, looking at this Warriors team, some say the best offensive team in NBA history.
30:23Doors, would you agree?
30:25I don't necessarily love comparing over eras.
30:28What I would say is they've got one of the best pure scorers ever in Kevin Durant.
30:32Two all-time great shooters in Klay and Steph.
30:36And then Draymond Green, one of the best playmaking bigs we've ever seen.
30:40I'll tell you, they'd compete with just about anybody.
30:44Here's McCall.
30:45He's still scoreless so far in this one.
30:48He kicks to Livingston.
30:51Five on the clock.
30:56Shoots over ball.
30:57And the shot falls short this time.
31:00Boy, just enough defensive attention to throw that shot off target.
31:04Nice shot by James.
31:05Well, because of the physical frame LeBron James has, he's going to shoot a high percentage in the paint.
31:11What I love is how good he is at reading when he needs to get that shot off.
31:16And the one-hand slam just looks so pretty when it's in his hand and he's the one doing the
31:22slam.
31:22Agreed.
31:23He is smooth as silk, even on a power finish.
31:26Lakers trail by 17.
31:28Pass to Hart.
31:331.33 left to play in the third.
31:36Here's James.
31:38No good there.
31:39Good tee by Bell.
31:41Boy, that's exactly how you have to play defense when he's driving the lane.
31:44You cannot give him any space.
31:50Livingston with it.
31:55And here is Durant.
31:57Bristle blows.
31:58Bucket is good.
31:59And he'll have a chance at the line to make it a three-point play.
32:07Brandon Ingram, he's checked in for James.
32:11Doris with Jordan Bell comes a highlight reel dunk waiting to happen.
32:15You never know what could happen in transition with a tremendously athletic Jordan Bell.
32:21This guy's a high flyer, big-time fan favorite.
32:24And I love that despite the flash in his game, this guy is a grounded, high-character individual.
32:32One shot, one shot.
32:44That's good from Durant.
32:47Well, Steve Kerr has talked about the emotional and spiritual fatigue that can set in for a Warriors team that
32:53has now played in four straight finals.
32:56And remember, Steve Kerr knows a thing or two about this from his years with the Chicago Bulls.
33:02They simply have to fight through it.
33:05Well, Coach Steve Kerr looks to give his players breaks.
33:07Doris getting away from the game, what he calls filling their cup.
33:11Well, I think, Kevin, it's mentally taxing, battling 10 months a year over and over again.
33:16And Steve is emphasizing it's important to have time away from basketball to recharge a bit.
33:23Take a break.
33:24Take a break.
33:25Two shots.
33:36First one falls for him.
33:39And what a draft day steal for the Lakers, who were able to get Kyle Kuzma, who had been drafted
33:4427th overall.
33:45Yeah, Kuzma came into the league far more polished than anyone expected.
33:50And you have to credit the young man's hard work and how he was able to make such a big
33:54splash that rookie year.
33:56And with how hard he works, Kuzma is going to be an impactful player in this league for a long
34:02time.
34:03Warriors leading by 18.
34:09Outside Curry.
34:10Kicks to Cousins.
34:15Got a piece of it.
34:20And too much time in the lane.
34:22They get called for the three-second violation.
34:25Green, he's checked in for Golden State.
34:27The Lakers also changing it up.
34:29JaVale McGee comes in for Kyle Kuzma.
34:32Arjan Rondo subbed in for Josh Hart.
34:37Lakers trail by 18.
34:41Rondo kicks to Ingram.
34:45Right wing.
34:51Oh, and there's the alley-oop.
34:53And it's McGee with the jam.
34:55Yeah, you got to respect the awareness level of Rondo.
34:58When his teammates have a clean look at the basket, the ball gets there without hesitation.
35:03And that was an Unleashed Chaos moment.
35:06Indeed.
35:06What a spectacular play.
35:08Sponsored by Under Armour Hover Havoc.
35:26There's the pass to Ingram.
35:29He can't get that one.
35:34And so it's the Golden State Warriors taking a 19-point lead into the break.
35:40They've got a big advantage in the turnover stats because of their intense defense.
35:44Back right after this.
36:02Now let's listen in to head coach Steve Kerr.
36:06Defense has been fantastic.
36:08Great defense.
36:09Offense.
36:10Simple passes will get it done, right?
36:12You guys look great, though.
36:14Keep the pressure on.
36:15Paying his guys' respect.
36:16They deserve.
36:17Likes what he sees.
36:18I like that message.
36:20And Kevin, it's so important to praise your guys when they're playing well.
36:24Coach understands how critical it is to recognize good effort.
36:30And as we head into the fourth, we'll see if there's a comeback in the works
36:34or if it's more of the same from the first three quarters.
36:37Warriors' death lineup out there with Curry, Clay, Iguodala, KD, and Tremont.
36:41So that's the group out there for Golden State.
36:45And here is Curry following Lonzo Ball's three.
36:50Here's Tremont.
36:53That's the sixth make from the field.
36:55He's taken nine shots and missed but three.
36:57Wow.
36:58He is lighting it up here in the second half.
37:04Iguodala against Rondo.
37:07Passes it to Caldwell Pope.
37:12With some arc.
37:14Great D that time from Green.
37:16Warriors leading by 18.
37:18To the paint.
37:19Stolen by Ball.
37:20And it's the Lakers on the break.
37:23Caldwell Pope with a wide open look.
37:25Outside for Rondo.
37:26McGee trying to break free.
37:29And Rondo gets it to go on the assist by McGee.
37:32And every now and then, Rondo will surprise you with the occasional triple.
37:37Showing it off there with range.
37:40Now here's Curry.
37:43Pass to Green.
37:49And he's fouled pretty hard on that shot.
37:51But he's got the chance to pick up the points at the line.
37:54It goes on Brandon Ingram.
37:56Well, make no mistake.
37:57Draymond Green will bully you on the interior if you allow it.
38:01You've got to make sure he doesn't force the issue.
38:04Well, let's remember that Draymond Green was drafted in the second round.
38:08But that competitive fire runs deep.
38:11And he has memorized the names of the 34 players selected ahead of him.
38:16Talk about holding a grudge.
38:28Free throw drops for Green.
38:31And despite all his success, Draymond continues to play with a chip on his shoulder.
38:35Well, there remains, Kevin, a desire to prove his critics wrong.
38:39And it served as great fuel to keep this guy hungry and focused.
38:43And the Warriors making a change here.
38:45Cousins has checked in.
38:49And so he's able to get one of two.
38:51I don't think you can help but admire what Draymond Green brings to the floor on a night-by-night
38:58basis.
38:59This guy plays with a giant chip.
39:00And he wants his teammates to come with him.
39:04So it's the Warriors now.
39:07Curry kicks to Iguodala.
39:13And we're around two minutes into the fourth quarter here.
39:17Sinks it.
39:18What range from outside.
39:19Wow.
39:20Well, in case anyone has forgotten, Steph Curry with a reminder of what ridiculous range he has.
39:26It's amazing how he's able to maintain technique even from that distance.
39:31A chance here to get a quick injury report.
39:34Now an update on LeBron from David Aldridge.
39:36What'd you find out, David?
39:37Hey, guys.
39:38I got an update from the head athletic trainer of the Lakers.
39:40He told me that in his opinion, the injury does not appear to be too serious.
39:45All right, David.
39:46Thank you for the update.
39:46I know we're all interested in what his status is.
39:49And it might be a tough road back for him.
39:51I mean, but one thing's for sure.
39:53He will be back.
39:55Well, we know this.
39:56The guy's a fighter.
39:57I'm sure nobody's more disappointed than he is to have to go through this.
40:01But I am sure this guy will work every day to get back as quick as possible.
40:06Curry finds Cousins.
40:10They kick it out to Green.
40:13Good.
40:14And it's Cousins picking up the assist.
40:16Cousins has got his fourth assist in this one.
40:19Boy, you have to respect how aggressive Draymond Green is.
40:22If he's got the ball in his hands, he's ready to fire.
40:25Caldwell Pope outside.
40:27Defense!
40:28Defense!
40:29Defense!
40:30Pass to McGee.
40:33Back to Caldwell Pope.
40:39Just four to shoot.
40:41And another three for the Lakers.
40:44And that was a real quick comeback there.
40:47Both sides showing some range.
40:49Well, both teams are pulling the trigger right now.
40:52Showing great confidence from behind that arc.
40:54And the Lakers making a change here.
40:57James has checked in.
40:58First personal foul to the second.
41:01Coming up on the floor for the Lakers.
41:03LeBron James.
41:09Fourth quarter of play.
41:10And over three and a half minutes have gone by.
41:12Timeout.
41:13Timeout called the Warriors.
41:15And really, whether you're up or down, it's a game of adjustments.
41:19Well, I like to see them mix it up a little bit.
41:21You've got to keep the opposition off balance.
41:24Going for all of the Warriors girls.
42:00And now we get the chance to present our Jordan player of the game, Kevin Durant.
42:05Yeah, and his percentage from the field tonight, just amazing.
42:08He hadn't just been gunning.
42:10He's been picking his spots, and you need that kind of patience and discipline to shoot as well as he
42:17has.
42:18What a connection he has to these fans.
42:20They love him here.
42:21And the more he has games like this, the deeper that connection gets.
42:26And we've got an update here, so let's catch up with David Aldridge.
42:29Hey, guys.
42:30I was able to catch the message Steve Kerr gave to his team.
42:33He told them, put your foot on their neck.
42:36Take it to them.
42:37I want to see you guys slow it down out there, use the clock, and stay away from silly fouls.
42:42Let's see if they can execute the plan, guys.
42:45Now, here's Curry.
42:48He kicks it to Green.
42:53And the rejection by James.
42:55Don't bring that weak stuff in here.
42:58LeBron always on the prowl to send shots back with force.
43:02And I'll tell you, good work to pound it down low and finish in tight.
43:06Here's Curry.
43:09Guys, a good chance for them to slow it down.
43:12Yeah, they definitely should use some clock here.
43:17Here's Iguodala.
43:19Outside Curry.
43:21From deep.
43:22That falls.
43:22Nice speed that time from Andre Iguodala.
43:26Iguodala's got his fifth assist in this one.
43:29Lakers trail by 17.
43:34And there's the call on Curry.
43:37That's his third foul of the game.
43:39Different look here for the Warriors.
43:41Bell, he's checked in for Cousins.
43:43Eurebko comes in for Andre Iguodala.
43:45Patrick McCaw, he's checked in for Thompson.
43:48And it's Livingston in for Curry.
43:50And Los Angeles will go for a different look here.
43:52Beasley's checked in for Ingram.
43:54Lance Stevenson comes in for James.
43:56Hard, he's checked in for Contavious Caldwell-Polk.
43:59Arjan Rondos subbing for Alonzo Ball.
44:02And that one is good by Beasley.
44:04And so just rolling to the finish line now in what has been a very confident looking performance for the
44:11Warriors.
44:11This is a game where the defense, you know, steals specifically, generating a lot of opportunities.
44:18And it created possessions for them, scoring opportunities.
44:22And that effort, a big part of what will be a nice victory here tonight.
44:26The one player that really stands out, of course, in this one, it was a dazzling game for Steph Curry.
44:33Boy, what a determined offensive presence he has been for them tonight.
44:37He carried the scoring load.
44:38And as hot as he was, it took a ton of pressure off his teammates all night.
44:43Now Bell, following the three-point attempt by Lance Stevenson, can't hit from 12.
44:50Now, outside Rondo.
44:5640 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
44:59Here's Beasley.
45:01Wants to get it to Rondo and does.
45:04Clock at six.
45:06Just his first attempt.
45:09McCaw grabs the miss.
45:13The dish to Livingston.
45:17Now, here is Bell.
45:19Back to Livingston.
45:24Now, Eurebke.
45:29The pass to McCaw.
45:30Over a heart.
45:33McCaw misses.
45:36So, we see the Warriors taking the game here.
45:39They poured it on tonight.
45:41Dominant showing in front of a crowd that loved every minute of it.
45:44And, you know, this game could really be a defining one for what they can do when they are playing
45:51at their best.
45:52I mean, being here at home, no doubt helps.
45:54And the execution was flawless.
45:58It's time now to go courtside as we send you over to David Aldridge from the sideline.
46:02David, take it away.
46:05Thanks very much, DeMarcus.
46:06Congrats on the win.
46:07We know how intense you are on the floor.
46:10But it looked like tonight maybe you're having a little fun out there.
46:14That's the thing.
46:14I'm just trying to come out here and have fun.
46:16I got a lot born for myself and I'm too blessed to be out here frowning all the time.
46:20So, I'm going to try to keep smiling on my face.
46:23Well, it's a good look for you, man.
46:24Congrats again.
46:25Back to you, Kevin.
46:26David, thank you as always.
46:28And that'll do it, folks.
46:30For Doris Burke, David Aldridge, Greg Anthony, and the rest of our terrific 2K sports crew,
46:36this is Kevin Harland saying thanks for watching.
46:39And we'll see you next time.
46:55We'll see you next time.
46:59We'll see you next time.
