00:02abay, kalaban mo dyan yung doubt, yung pressure,
00:06at minsan yung sarili mong takot.
00:18Please welcome the author of Claiming the Dot,
00:22attorney Archie Capila.
00:24Attorney, thank you so much for joining us today.
00:25Good morning.
00:26Good morning, Ms. Leslie and all our supporters.
00:29and, of course, viewers sa ating Rise and Shine Pilipinas.
00:31Magandang umaga po sa inyong lahat.
00:34Thank you for joining us.
00:36So, this is your book, Claiming the Dot,
00:39A Young Lawyer's Journey.
00:40Tell us about the journey.
00:42Itong libro na ito.
00:42Well, first of all, it's always,
00:44it has always, the journey to becoming a lawyer is always.
00:47But, with the book, of course,
00:49nagkaroon tayo ng chance na ma-share ang ating journey.
00:53And, of course, I believe na nagkaroon tayo ng oportunidad
01:00which, of course, I know ay nakaka-relate at makaka-relate
01:03dito sa ating journey na ito.
01:05Uy, saktong-sakto.
01:06Ano po ba yung ibig sabihin ng Claiming the Dot?
01:10Well, actually, Madam,
01:12it's first year, second year, third year, and fourth year.
01:16It's ATTY.
01:17Yun yung biruan sa law school.
01:20And the dot is actually passing the bar.
01:22So, even though that if you,
01:25if and when that you pass law school,
01:28you still have to claim the dot.
01:29So, technically, it's passing the bar.
01:32So, yun yung naging title ng aking book.
01:35And it basically encapsulates the law school journey
01:51Yes, Madam.
02:04So, lahat pala.
02:07Meron tayong tinatawag na nostalgic trap
02:09sa mga abogado na laging binabalikan
02:11ang kanilang law school journey.
02:13And I think this book is a great reflection
02:16of what that journey is.
02:18Mahirap yun kasi, di ba, pag naglolo ka?
02:20Yung pressure.
02:22Tapos, hindi lang pressure sa ibang tao.
02:25Pressure din mismo sa sarili mo.
02:27Patatapos ko ba ito?
02:28Diba?
02:29Para, paya ko ba ito?
02:30Sa libro po ninyo,
02:32paano po itinalakay itong mga realidad na ganito?
02:35Well, yung aking libro is maraming chapters.
02:38And basically, doon sa law school journey,
02:41nagkameron din tayo ng diskurso on what I went through
02:45and kung ano yung mga ginawa ko
02:48para ma-overcome itong mga ito.
02:50And at the same time,
02:51nagshare tayo ng mga light perspectives.
02:53Nagkameron tayo ng compilation ng essays
02:56and Facebook posts.
02:57And basically,
02:59ang sinasabi ko lamang dito is
03:01maraming nagdaan sa ganitong journey.
03:05And at the same time,
03:06nakalampas naman sila.
03:08And we know for sure
03:09that yung mga magbabasa natin
03:10and yung ating mga aspiring lawyers
03:13ay makakayanin
03:14for as long as they don't give up and show up.
03:16Kahit pamahirap.
03:17Yes.
03:18Well, for you,
03:19kasi this is a compilation of essays
03:20at saka may mga tips and advice
03:22para dun sa mga aspiring lawyers.
03:25Ano yung pinakapaborito mo dito
03:27sa mga sinulat mo?
03:29Well,
03:30nadyaan yung
03:32naghihintay ako sa results ng bar.
03:34Just to share,
03:36I didn't want anyone with me
03:38noong naghihintay ako ng results
03:41because I,
03:43actually,
03:44I didn't know what to do
03:45if and when I did not make it.
03:47But luckily,
03:48I made it
03:48noong, ano,
03:50noong lumabas ang results.
03:52So,
03:55And,
03:56nagkameron kami ng,
03:58actually,
03:59I told my girlfriend that
04:00she is the only one I would answer.
04:03noong kapag tatawag doon sa results.
04:07And,
04:08nagkaroon kami ng,
04:09I was in,
04:10I was at St. Jude
04:12ang results.
04:13And,
04:14mga nagtataluna na
04:15ang mga tao sa likod,
04:17wala pong tumatawag sa akin.
04:20So,
04:20I really thought I didn't make it.
04:22But eventually,
04:22after a few minutes,
04:23may tumawag na yung aking girlfriend.
04:26I,
04:26I,
04:27eventually passed the bar.
04:28So,
04:28it was a,
04:29once a lifetime experience.
04:31And,
04:31I shared it in the book.
04:32Baka nasa AB pa lang na surname.
04:33Nung scene na,
04:34tumawag na sa'yo.
04:35Ayan nga.
04:35Ayan nga naman.
04:36Ayan nga naman.
04:37Ayan nga naman.
04:37Ayan nga naman.
04:37Ang,
04:38ang bilis nung girlfriend na.
04:40Hello,
04:40nakapasa ka.
04:41Galing mo naman.
04:43Ayan.
04:44After this book po,
04:45bilang kayo po ay parang author,
04:46author na author na talaga.
04:48May mga balak pa po ba kayong isulat
04:50ng mga ibang libro?
04:51Actually,
04:51it all started,
04:53noong,
04:54I was invited by the publisher
04:55to write,
04:56originally,
04:57a textbook.
04:57Okay.
04:59For pagiging professor mo.
05:01Yes.
05:01But,
05:02but I specifically requested na,
05:05sana,
05:08which is this book.
05:10But,
05:10hopefully,
05:11this year,
05:12I'll be able to publish another one
05:13or two,
05:15kung sakali.
05:16Tingnan natin kung,
05:17if and when,
05:18magkaroon ng opportunity.
05:19I actually have a favorite essay dito.
05:21It's about love,
05:23loss,
05:23and law school.
05:24Paano ba ito sasagutin?
05:26Is there love in law?
05:27Always.
05:28There's always love in law
05:30and in whatever we do
05:32for as long
05:33as we put our heart into it.
05:34There's always love in it.

05:38to have a copy of your book.

05:46na magkakaroon
05:47or let's say,

05:49ng explanation
05:50as to how law school is,
05:52what to expect in law school,
05:54and eventually,

05:55and some reflections
