There are three remaining games for Wales in the Six Nations 2026 Championship. Manager Steve Tandy will be hoping the team's fortunes change in their games against Italy and Ireland. Before that though, here's some reflections from Assistant Coach Danny Wilson, Centre Joe Hawkins and Prop Archie Griffin ahead of their Scotland clash in Cardiff on Saturday.

00:00It's exciting to have a game at home again, two home games on the bounce and you want to get
00:05back
00:05on the horse, you want to get back out there and play and train and stay in it. I think
00:08that's the
00:09difference in the club world is you've got another game the very next week. In international world
00:12you've got a very short period and it sits with you for a long time if you come out of
00:16that before
00:16the next period. So boys are motivated, train well. Like I said, to a man, this group of players
00:26are so hard-working and so committed and want to improve. I can assure you of that.
00:31They're a ball-playing team. I know Finn from club, so just looking forward to getting into
00:37that really. We know what they're going to bring. Edge-to-edge play, a lot of layering in
00:43their attack, so just looking out for that. For us at the minute it's just consistency
00:48and creating a platform. So anything that comes as a bonus is obviously good for us,
00:56but we're looking to just make sure that we're building in innings and making sure that we're
00:59clean so that refs can get on our side. We talk quite a lot about we want to be a
01:04team
01:05that can excite the nation and I think we're potentially a little bit inconsistent in doing
01:11that at the minute, but I think that's just, like you said, the nature of when you have
01:15sort of a new coaching team coming in. You're changing style of play. You're obviously
01:20working at it on the training ground. Sometimes it doesn't always go right on the pitch. I think
01:25on the weekend we, like that last probably 20 minutes, we come into it a bit more with
01:31our attack and we showed bits of what we're trying to do. So I think it's just like doubling
01:36down in the training week on, like I said, on what our attack principle is trying to get
01:41as many sort of reps as it as we can and then do our best to put it out on
01:45the field then
01:45on the weekends.
01:47The process, the detail, the, if we get those things right more consistently, both sides
01:53of the ball. So if we showed some really good defensive sets on the weekend, but we need
01:58to do that for much longer periods of time against an attack that can hold the ball and Scotland
02:02are very much similar. France was a very counter attack based side and we needed to get that
02:07bit right. We didn't quite get that right, obviously, and we got hurt in that area. Likewise
02:11in attack, if we can piece together the process, we can't be one week our set piece doesn't
02:17function, the next week it does. Our first three phase starter plays function one week
02:21and then they don't the next. We've got to become more consistent in those areas. I think
02:25the devil's in the detail of getting those things right more often and us as coaches and
02:30players staying in the weeds of those things, getting those things right. And then, cliche
02:34as it sounds, I think the scoreboard takes care of itself.
02:38I think we're always looking to build at the minute. I mean, I think discipline's a big
02:42one that we're trying to focus on throughout this competition. But with our attack, we're
02:48looking to be quite direct and bring a lot of layering to our attack because they kind
02:52of sit off, don't jump off, a lot of reading. So it's kind of making sure that we throw the
02:57first punch.
