00:00The government should cancel this entire surrender bill. It is absolutely unforgivable that we are
00:05paying tens of billions of pounds to surrender British sovereignty, which will make us less
00:10safe. But also, as the opposition, we've been doing the job of scrutinising, and we've discovered
00:15just this week the entire basis on which the Labour government is saying they had to do this,
00:19which is UNCLOS, which is essentially the international law of the sea, that there is an
00:23exemption, Article 298, which says that military bases do not come under this litigation. There is
00:29a specific exemption. We've done that as doing the hard work of opposition. So that should tell
00:33the Labour government that now is the opportunity for them to say, do you know what, we were wrong,
00:37we're going to withdraw this bill, and we're not going to essentially compromise Britain's future.
