00:02Goldman Sachs' plans to remove race, gender identity, ethnicity, and sexual orientation
00:07from the diversity factors its board considers when identifying director candidates,
00:12according to the Wall Street Journal. The Governance Committee currently evaluates
00:16candidates based on four factors, including a broad diversity description that references
00:21other demographics. The bank will eliminate those demographic criteria after a request
00:26from the conservative activist nonprofit National Legal and Policy Center, which owns a small stake.
00:31Goldman informed the group that it would remove the criteria, and the board is expected to approve
00:36the new language this month. The climate around DEI shifted after Trump issued an executive order
00:41directing federal departments and agencies to launch civil investigations into corporate
00:46DEI programs. For all things money, visit Benzinga.com.
