00:04I'm now joined by Brian Philpots. Hello, thank you very much for being with us here.
00:09Good afternoon, it's a pleasure.
00:10You're VP Business Development at Pixelot. You literally offer a new vision of sports. Tell us how.
00:19Yeah, we do. I think Pixelot is a company that started out to democratise sport down to the lowest level.
00:28We're now the world's largest sports video and data content creators and we do that through our AI production systems,
00:41our OTT platform and our data analysis platform.
00:44So exactly what do you do and how do you do it?
00:46So what do we do? We have AI-driven sports production systems that require no people.
00:53They create the match, send them to the cloud, distribute them to OTT platforms or broadcasters or wherever.
00:59And we currently have 30,000 systems in 74 countries and we're currently creating 350,000 hours of live sport
01:10a month.
01:11To make sure I understand this properly, you're actually able to film a game, any sports, anywhere in the world
01:17without any human interfering?
01:19Well, we can do 19 sports that require a separate algorithm each.
01:24Without any human interfering? I mean, it's just filmed by your cameras?
01:27Yeah, and we can have a system set up in a hall and somebody from the league or the club
01:32can import volleyball at 3 o'clock, basketball at 5 o'clock, handball at 9 o'clock and the machine
01:39just takes over.
01:40What prompted the idea?
01:42Oh, I think the founders wanted to be able to try and find technology to democratise sports down to the
01:52lowest level because the majority of these games at this level would never have been covered before.
01:58And we've since developed monetisation, so subscription, ad-funded graphics, which now allows the rights holder to take back control
02:11of the content that was probably never being produced before and start generating some revenue to put back into the
02:17sport.
02:18Can your cameras, can your system do anything that humans can't do?
02:26They can do it a lot cheaper.
02:28And they can work 24 hours a day?
02:30They can work 24 hours a day.
02:32You talked about different sports. How many? 19, you said?
02:3519, yeah.
02:35What sports?
02:36So we do both field sports and indoor sports. So the main ones would be American football, football.
02:45Soccer.
02:45Yeah, soccer.
02:46As they say.

02:47In the U.S., yes.
02:49Rugby, field hockey, basketball, volleyball, handball, baseball.
02:56The system started in 2014, if I'm correct?
02:59Yeah, 2014, yeah.
03:00Yes.
03:00How many games have you been able to film? Did you measure that?
03:04Yeah, about two weeks ago we passed our three millionth.
03:07Three millionth.
03:08Yeah.
03:08Okay.
03:09And who owns the rights of those games?
03:13The rights holder who contracts with us. We're not in the rights business. So the rights holder may sell the
03:20rights to a third party or the rights holder might keep the rights.
03:25Is it easy to use that system?
03:27Really easy.
03:28If I was a football manager and I wanted to use this for my field, for my teams, how is
03:34it installed, for example?
03:35Well, there's two uses. The first use is the media use. The second use is the coaching use and analysis.
03:45Majority of our systems are fixed installation systems. So they would be installed once, calibrated once, and then you just
03:53go into a content management system and pick the sport and start the system at a time.
04:00We've recently, in the last 18 months, introduced a more grassroots product, the Pixelot Air camera, which is mobile and
04:08is aimed at more grassroots sport.
04:11But again, it's easy to put up, tripod, takes 10 minutes and costs under 1,000 euros.
04:20So very cost effective.
04:21Yeah.
04:21We understand how it's set up. Who can watch this and how?
04:26Well, anybody at the rights holder wants to see it. So we can either build an OTT platform for the
04:33rights holder. They might already have one.
04:35They might choose just to send it to social, to Facebook or to YouTube. So they just tell us what
04:41end point they want it to go and we send it to that end point.
04:43Who are your clients today?
04:45Our clients?
04:46Yes.
04:46So we have systems in 40 clubs in France, Ligue 1, Ligue 2. We have systems in the Premier League
04:58in the UK.
04:59We have systems in the Swedish Football Federation. And we run the national high school network in the US for
05:07our partner PlayOn.
05:08Unbelievable.
05:08And we've recently signed a deal with Bedou in China, which will result in 6,000 systems going into China
05:15for us.
