00:04I'm really excited to bring in our innovation editor, Stacy. Welcome back to Viva Tech.

00:11Yes, the energy is super exciting. I love this pre-jitter moment, right?
00:16You have thousands of people kind of entering, checking everything out for the first time.
00:19It's exactly that. It's electric. You can really feel the energy in the air.
00:23It's like you could slice a knife through a cake. It's so palpable, the energy. It's great.
00:28Absolutely. What are you watching this year?
00:31So I'm here as the innovation editor once again.
00:34So obviously, innovation and Viva Tech go hand in hand together.
00:37This year, more than any other year, innovation is really at the heart of the event.
00:42There's 300 different innovations that Viva Tech has brought to the event this year.
00:46Most of them, a lot of them come from around the world.
00:49Dozens of them are premiering here for the very first time around the world.
00:54There's multiple parks which have specific focuses on innovations.
00:58So if I go through some of them for you, Upton, there's the impact mile that our Tech for Change
01:03editor Maraid spoke about earlier,
01:05which is the 400 square meter long mile with all things impact and around Tech for Change,
01:11things that are improving society and our planet.
01:15There's also the Discovery Zone, which has historically been always the zone
01:19where Viva Tech has the craziest and wildest innovations.
01:22So that's back again, and we'll be able to see that later on with all the robots and the drones
01:27that are exhibiting on the stand.
01:30There's also a food and retail park, which is sponsored by Carrefour.
01:34And there's many robots that are facilitating the lives of people that work in supermarkets,
01:40even customers who want to more easily grab items from the supermarket shelves.
01:46Robots might be a part of our everyday lives when we go supermarket shopping in the future.
01:51There's also the mobility park, and as of every mobility is once again at the forefront here at Viva Tech.
01:57So there's drones, there's electric bikes, there's electric flying vehicles.
02:02I mean, Viva Tech, we're here to kind of see the craziest and wildest innovations,
02:06and a lot of them are at the mobility park.
02:08If I go on, we've also got the digital experiences and AI park, which is sponsored by Verizon.
02:14There's robots, there's art galleries, there's NFTs.
02:18It's really quite wild this year in terms of the innovations.
02:21Yeah, it'll be interesting because, I mean, last year NFT was a big theme.
02:25This year it seems like AI has kind of taken over that.
02:29Have you gotten a chance to visit anything just yet?
02:32So we were lucky to get here a little bit earlier before the crowds have come here, before the crowds
02:37arrived.
02:37So I did get a chance to walk through quite quickly.
02:40I haven't seen a lot of it yet, but I walked through the Impact Mile,
02:43and that's one of the newcomers this year.
02:45And it's really great to see at the center of Viva Tech all these innovations around tech for change
02:50that are really taking over the entire event.
02:53I also walked through the Sport Hall.
02:54So there's an entire 8,000 square meters zone dedicated to sports.
02:58And François Bitouzi, the managing director of Viva Tech, who just came on,
03:02spoke about the Sport Hall and how important it was to have that as part of Viva Tech this year.
03:08So there's partners like Amazon, which have a connected soccer experience.
03:12There's jumping experiences.
03:15There's 3D printed sporting equipment like climbing shoes.
03:18So, and obviously we, François, spoke about the need to have sport at the center of Viva Tech,
03:24given that we have the Rugby World Cup shortly and the Paris Olympic Games next year.
