00:00:00C'est parti !
00:00:30We have heard lots of big ideas, lots of great innovation, and if you've enjoyed that already, you're going to
00:00:35enjoy it right now here on the stage for this session.
00:00:38So this, right now, this session is all about health, wealth, health to wealth from a core, all putting those
00:00:45together, and that's exactly what we're going to share right now.
00:00:48So this is all about helping people and communities to really improve their state of well-being.
00:00:55Health to wealth, really showcasing relevance, showcasing priority, and interconnectedness of well-being in the world today.
00:01:04And that's going to be reflected, certainly, in the big ideas from the startups we're going to hear right now,
00:01:09very shortly, on the stage as well.
00:01:11So a little bit more about health to wealth. Health to wealth, a thought leadership series from a core that
00:01:18really includes three different chapters, three different elements, a podcast series, 11 episodes already released from March till June.
00:01:27Also, a white paper at the end of the year, and also this here, what you see right now, an
00:01:32entrepreneur event right here at Viva Tech 2022.
00:01:36This challenge is all about looking at revealing disruptive and efficient solutions to better well-being naturally, leading a change
00:01:44-maker culture, and unleashing a new momentum in living.
00:01:49So by the end of this session, I'm sure some of your ideas will maybe be changed slightly, you'll be
00:01:55more curious, and I'm sure it will probably encourage you maybe even to start a conversation with some of our
00:02:03jury members and naturally some of our startups as well.
00:02:08So this is a competition, naturally, and with any, well, not every competition, but this certainly, this one here right
00:02:15now, and many of them through the week here at Viva Tech 2022, they have a jury, a jury of
00:02:22distinguished people who will decide the fate of not all the startups, just maybe a couple, actually one that walks
00:02:28away a winner.
00:02:28Now, just let me introduce to you who our panelists, who our jury members are.
00:02:32First of all, we have CEO and founder of One Ragtime, Stephanie Hospital.
00:02:37Welcome, Stephanie.
00:02:38Chief Brand Officer at Accor, Alex Schellenberger, Global VP at Wellbeing, Emlyn Brown, CEO and co-founder of Pillar Wellbeing,
00:02:48Handley Amos, founder and CEO of Well Intelligence, Annie Hood, and founder of Digi.me, Julian Ranger.
00:02:57These are the jury members, they will decide, but hey, I'm sure you'll be listening as well.
00:03:02You'll have your own opinions, but unfortunately you don't decide exactly who the winners are, who the winner is.
00:03:07These are people on my left, that's exactly their job.
00:03:11So, five minutes, startups will come to the stage here and share their idea for five minutes, up to five
00:03:18minutes.
00:03:18It can be less, up to them, no more than five minutes.
00:03:21After that five minutes, we go over to our jury members and it's their job really to kind of look
00:03:28underneath the bonnet and really find out what really makes these startups tick to help them decide who the actual
00:03:36winner is.
00:03:37All clear?
00:03:38Very clear indeed.
00:03:40Right, I'm intrigued as much as you are really to hear our startups and hear the great ideas they're about
00:03:45to share.
00:03:45Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the stage the first startup of the Health to Wealth Challenge, Biosen.
00:04:00Hello, my name is Margot.
00:04:03I'm here today and we're going to talk about a very important topic, mental health.
00:04:09Over the last few years, have you felt that your mental health has taken control over you?
00:04:16Or do you know a friend or family member who has been feeling down?
00:04:25Okay, great.
00:04:30When we talk about mental health, people refer to fair words, happiness, sadness, emotion and anger.
00:04:41But, actually, this is a picture from Brene Browns showing the 87 emotions.
00:04:50There are so many different emotions that it is very hard to interpret the clear signals our body is trying
00:04:57to tell us.
00:05:01Let me tell you my story and which led to the launch of Biosen.
00:05:07A couple of years ago, I was not feeling well.
00:05:11I had clear symptoms, but healthcare professionals were telling me,
00:05:17you have nothing to worry about and you're young.
00:05:20But I knew something was not right.
00:05:23I couldn't understand what my body was trying to tell me.
00:05:28Until then, I discovered I was diagnosed with a mental health condition.
00:05:33Wanting to act on it and control, I started to apply techniques for mental health conditions
00:05:42that have been proven to dramatically impact our physical health and mental health.
00:05:55This led me to, afterwards, basically, understanding the different emotion that we had.
00:06:07And when we met with our scientific founder, when I met with my scientific founder,
00:06:13I wanted to find a way to help people who had issues with managing their emotion
00:06:20and to show them that there are ways to managing their conditions with simple tasks.
00:06:28We then built a strong network and we connected to leading scientific institution,
00:06:37healthcare experts, and well-being device manufacturers to help us.
00:06:46We wanted to lead, to find a way that we had, sorry, we had a revolution.
00:06:53We wanted to show a way of how we could basically have a hypothesis
00:07:00that by measuring leading measurements that have clear indicators on our mental health,
00:07:08we could then prove this.
00:07:12Our vision is to develop a wearable patch that's seamless
00:07:19and that would combine a measure of leading indicators
00:07:25that would give insights on your mental health condition.
00:07:30This prototype is basically the first version of our innovation.
00:07:35We printed out biosensors and put it on a piece of paper.
00:07:42Here, you can see the different microfluidics showing variations of the sweat.
00:07:49And so, basically, the different colours will show you
00:07:53the different compassion of level of stress
00:07:58and other biomarkers, the density of it.
00:08:02But this wearable is not only doesn't give you data on you,
00:08:07it will be able to also provide AI-driven insights to help you manage it.
00:08:14And this means you'll have access to daily analytics on an app,
00:08:19all of this on a Phrasee app.
00:08:21And you'll have the daily analytics with also some simplified support
00:08:27to help you with access to daily online communities.
00:08:35So, as of today, we have raised $100,000
00:08:39and we're looking for our source investment continues.
00:08:43We're looking for people who believe in our vision
00:08:47and that if you're not investors here watching us today,
00:08:52we also would love for you to join our online community online that is free.
00:08:59and we look forward to hearing more from you.
00:09:04Perfectly right on time.
00:09:07To perfection.
00:09:08Right.
00:09:09I'm going to ask you just to stand there.
00:09:10I'll give this back to you because you're going to need that.
00:09:13And let's hear from our jury members about what we've just heard.
00:09:18Hi, Margot.
00:09:19Thanks very much for that.
00:09:20It was great to hear.
00:09:22And I really love the idea of actually taking it one step further with wearables.
00:09:27and I think the patch is that.
00:09:29I've got a key question for me is trying to understand how do you measure hormones
00:09:34and then what are the outcomes and actions you're expecting to take from that?
00:09:38So, we can measure the biosensors.
00:09:41So, we apply biosensors into a patch
00:09:44and it works with the colors you can see here
00:09:48will basically indicate the concentration levels of stress or other biological signal.
00:09:54So, that's how we can detect key biomarkers that are linked to the mental health
00:10:00and then on the AI part, you'll have access.
00:10:04The data will be wrapped onto an app
00:10:07and there you have access to personalized, actionable, tailored recommendation with actions.
00:10:14Okay.
00:10:15Thank you.
00:10:16Can you tell me how far, this seems quite early stage,
00:10:19how far away are you actually from being able to launch this product?
00:10:24Absolutely.
00:10:25So, we will be able to launch in about two to three years
00:10:29and for now, we are working on developing our first prototype and feasibility studies.
00:10:35So, pre-seed.
00:10:36Okay.
00:10:36Great.
00:10:37And what sort of price point are you expecting this to be?
00:10:40For the price point, we're looking at a subscription model.
00:10:45Okay.
00:10:46That's similar to WHOOP.
00:10:47Yes.
00:10:48Okay.
00:10:48Fantastic.
00:10:50So, the key thing is always the outcomes that come out of something.
00:10:55So, the data that's coming in is great
00:10:58as long as it's key outcomes that come out of it
00:11:01that make a difference to your mental health.
00:11:03Have you mapped that already?
00:11:05Yes.
00:11:06So, we're looking at what mental health means at different pillars.
00:11:09There's your emotional health.
00:11:11There's your nervous system.
00:11:12activities, sleep, and behaviors.
00:11:17So, we're looking to help you identify lifestyle routines
00:11:21based on those pillars that would suit your goals and needs.
00:11:26Okay.
00:11:27Great.
00:11:28Thank you.
00:11:29Great.
00:11:29We've got another 45 seconds on the clock.
00:11:32Yeah.
00:11:33Maybe how many...
00:11:34Why do you think that this way of measuring
00:11:38will give better results than any other type of mental application
00:11:42that we have already on the market
00:11:43and which might be much more scalable than this model with a sensor?
00:11:48The innovation we're looking to give access to people is specific biosensors
00:11:55that are capable of monitoring things that we haven't seen before.
00:11:59And with the help of this new data, it will have a massive impact into revolutionizing mental health
00:12:07and providing acute access to this.
00:12:13Ladies and gentlemen, hands together for our first startup for Biosyn.
00:12:17Well done.
00:12:21So, there we have it.
00:12:22That's our first startup.
00:12:23You can see it kind of sets the tone of what this is all about.
00:12:27Our jury members, they look down at their scorecards and evaluate about what they've just seen.
00:12:33We are ready now for our second starter.
00:12:35Again, ladies and gentlemen, those of you who have just joined us,
00:12:38it's getting pretty crowded here, which is a great...
00:12:41Those of you at home, you can't see this, but it is packed here at the Pitch Studio.
00:12:45Again, if you've just come by, you're wondering, what on earth is this?
00:12:48What's going on in this part of VivaTek?
00:12:51This is the Accor Health to Wealth Challenge,
00:12:54all about helping people and communities really improve their state of well-being
00:12:59through listening to these great startups with their big ideas changing the way forward.
00:13:06Let's hear from our next startup.
00:13:08Ladies and gentlemen, hands together for our next startup, very simply called eKids.
00:13:18Hello.
00:13:20Hi, guys.
00:13:21Thank you so much for this opportunity.
00:13:24This has all been a dream, and you guys are all a dream.
00:13:28My name is Jude.
00:13:29I am a founder from Taiwan, working on mental health innovations.
00:13:33My latest startup, eKids, aims to solve senior adults' reliance on family for tech support.
00:13:40Our solution to this is to deliver a butler service that will help elders use technology.
00:13:46But our niche is to use psychotherapy-based communications.
00:13:50And I will explain in a little bit how it works and what that means.
00:13:55So, I started eKids because I wanted to make sure that my mom, all the other moms,
00:14:00and all the elders who don't have children of their own to never feel alone or left out
00:14:05in this tech-centric world.
00:14:08So, I gathered a group of friends, you know, a group of kids.
00:14:12We just went out and started to fix people's phones
00:14:15and kind of explain to them how Spotify and Netflix works.
00:14:19I saw the demand for us to exist surge during the first COVID lockdown in Taiwan.
00:14:27We helped communities of elders register for vaccines on the computer.
00:14:32It felt very awesome.
00:14:35It felt like we were doing something important.
00:14:36But after a while, I realized the pain point isn't using, you know,
00:14:40fixing phones or using computer.
00:14:42The real pain point is the emotional process of it.
00:14:46For far too long, I've been too focused on solving the technical issue
00:14:50instead of taking that opportunity to learn about each other's emotions.
00:14:57So, I started to see things from a psychotherapist's point of view.
00:15:02And I started to do things that I noticed my therapist was doing to me
00:15:05and leveraging that onto my services.
00:15:08I did this the most in my previous startup and seen the biggest impact
00:15:15where for the past four years with my services,
00:15:19I communicated with validating emotions first and positive reframing.
00:15:26And sometimes it's as easy as starting every conversation with a compliment.
00:15:30It is incredible how a compliment was able to flip to the dynamic of every human interaction.
00:15:40And by just changing the way we talk to each other,
00:15:43I was able to help my clients achieve positive behavior change at scale.
00:15:49Positive behavior change reduced psychiatric medication
00:15:54due to the significantly lowered anxiety levels
00:15:57and a word-of-mouth reputation with 15,000 followers on Instagram.
00:16:03With that, I see an opportunity to reinvent our approach to service.
00:16:09Psychotherapy.
00:16:09It is the science of behavior, right?
00:16:12It understands trauma.
00:16:14It introduces healing.
00:16:16It uses language that slows down the problem-solving process
00:16:20and allows room for the mind to breathe.
00:16:23By taking what we've learned from something so new as psychotherapy
00:16:27and cognitive behavioral therapy,
00:16:29apply it in markets like Taiwan and Japan where there's an aging crisis.
00:16:34There's a chance for us to build a value-driven business
00:16:38by connecting existing dots with new lines
00:16:41and to make sure our elders have a network of support
00:16:44for their physical and mental well-being.
00:16:48So, our goal in the next five years
00:16:50is to make sure e-kit services is available
00:16:53for the 4.7 million elders in Taiwan
00:16:55and the 37 million elders in Japan.
00:16:59With our unique social media presence,
00:17:01even if they haven't signed up to our services,
00:17:04they will have heard about us.
00:17:05They will have heard about our fight for them.
00:17:07And they will have heard about our brand reputation
00:17:10built on kindness and empathy.
00:17:13And by building an Uber type of platform
00:17:15that will eliminate the number of users that we're going to have,
00:17:18we're going to ensure that every elder
00:17:20is paired with a young person in the same neighborhood
00:17:23and ultimately provide physical and mental health support
00:17:26for every elder in the world.
00:17:28Thank you.
00:17:32Fabulous.
00:17:33Just stand there, absolutely.
00:17:35Right.
00:17:36Let's hear from our jury members about what they've just heard.
00:17:39Thank you very much for that.
00:17:40It's an interesting topic.
00:17:42I've seen my own parents struggling with technology,
00:17:44so I'm well aware of some of the issues.
00:17:47I don't understand how you demonetize this.
00:17:49Where's the value proposition here
00:17:51and where's the income stream and those items?
00:17:54Tell me about this, please.
00:17:56We tried a couple of things at first.
00:17:58We tried to charge money by one per action.
00:18:01One per transaction,
00:18:03like fixing your Facebook will charge five euros for it.
00:18:06But I realized the user journey was way too short
00:18:08because their needs were way too scattered.
00:18:11So I'm proposing a monthly subscription model
00:18:13for about 30 euros a month,
00:18:16which is a little bit more expensive
00:18:18than your local repair shops,
00:18:20but less expensive than therapy,
00:18:22which they probably will never go.
00:18:23And then for our eKids,
00:18:26it will work sort of like an Uber or Deliverer sort of model
00:18:29where they will gain 15 euros a month
00:18:32by sponsoring an elder.
00:18:33and they will probably have a cap of 10 elders per month
00:18:37to make sure the quality
00:18:39and make sure that they earn the money
00:18:40and the elders would pay a small sum of money
00:18:42to get a network of support in the neighborhood.
00:18:45Okay.
00:18:46So in terms of how do you pay the children,
00:18:49how do you train the children,
00:18:50how do you monitor the quality?
00:18:51Because there's an item there
00:18:53that could look a little bit challenging.
00:18:56Absolutely.
00:18:56Absolutely.
00:18:56And I think that is what surprised me the most,
00:19:01which is psychotherapy is very holistic.
00:19:03It's very broad.
00:19:04But if we narrow it down to a certain behavior,
00:19:07like when you use your technology,
00:19:09when you use your phones.
00:19:10So previously,
00:19:10I was working on a same model
00:19:12where I narrowed it down to a certain behavior.
00:19:14I was teaching people how to write resumes.
00:19:16And I realized
00:19:17if you narrow it down to a certain behavior,
00:19:19to a certain event,
00:19:22the behaviors are similar.
00:19:24Like us humans,
00:19:25we're not so different from each other.
00:19:27So if you experience the one thing,
00:19:28I will experience as well.
00:19:29Our behaviors will kind of be the same.
00:19:31And so if we could narrow it down,
00:19:33it's easy to scale.
00:19:34It's easy to train.
00:19:35It's easy to deploy one central message
00:19:38and to expand this
00:19:41or broadcast it with our eKids team.
00:19:44Okay.
00:19:44Where are you at in this process?
00:19:46Where's the business actually at?
00:19:47Funding-wise?
00:19:48Launch-wise?
00:19:50We've kind of started to look for fundraising
00:19:52for about six months ago
00:19:53because I realized
00:19:54it wasn't enough
00:19:55to just get these four people
00:19:57that I pay out of my pocket.
00:19:59So I think the only way is to scale up.
00:20:03So I'm looking for funding.
00:20:05So we're pre-funding.
00:20:07We're pre-seed.
00:20:07We're pre-everything.
00:20:08We're pre-accelerators.
00:20:09We're very young.
00:20:11But I think,
00:20:12so far we've been doing it
00:20:14out of our own pockets
00:20:15and not out of our own time.
00:20:16Okay.
00:20:16Understood.
00:20:17Thank you.
00:20:17Anyone else?
00:20:18Maybe, yeah.
00:20:19Thanks very much, Jude.
00:20:20Really great presentation.
00:20:22A question that actually just came up in my mind.
00:20:25It almost is a bit of a conundrum
00:20:27because on the one hand side
00:20:28your target group is the elders
00:20:30who might not be using apps
00:20:32at this point in time
00:20:33and you need to book it via an app.
00:20:35So it's almost,
00:20:36I'm almost thinking that maybe
00:20:37you have a separate target group
00:20:39which are either the kids
00:20:40or people looking after them.
00:20:42What a question.
00:20:43A question we will never know the answer to.
00:20:46My booth is over there though.
00:20:47That's a lovely question as well.
00:20:48Really sounded good.
00:20:49I've kind of wanted to answer that myself.
00:20:51But ladies and gentlemen,
00:20:53please put your hands together
00:20:54for eKids.
00:20:58So your booth is over there, right?
00:20:59Your booth is just over there.
00:21:01That's another thing again.
00:21:02Remember all this,
00:21:03not just from this session
00:21:04but naturally as we're on this session
00:21:06I'll mention it right now.
00:21:07So all the startups,
00:21:08all the great ideas
00:21:08that we hear right here on stage.
00:21:10If you go over to the Health to Wealth website
00:21:13you can find all the information.
00:21:15Again, you're curious,
00:21:16you'd like to know more.
00:21:16After the session,
00:21:18grab them,
00:21:18go for a coffee,
00:21:19have a chat,
00:21:19start a conversation
00:21:20and see where those conversations
00:21:23actually lead.
00:21:24We're ready.
00:21:24Are you ready?
00:21:25Yes, you are.
00:21:25Ready to hear the next startup.
00:21:27Here we go.
00:21:27Our next startup
00:21:28on the Health to Wealth Accord challenge
00:21:31right now.
00:21:32A startup very simply called,
00:21:34ready and waiting,
00:21:35Loom.
00:21:40Hello, everyone.
00:21:42My name is Julian
00:21:43and after 10 years in the big tech
00:21:45I am very excited to be here
00:21:47talking about a topic
00:21:48that is so close to my heart and soul,
00:21:50probably yours
00:21:51and most probably yours,
00:21:52mental health.
00:21:53But if there's one place on earth
00:21:55where mental health
00:21:57isn't the easiest topic to mention,
00:21:59that's well and truly
00:22:00in the workplace.
00:22:03Whoever you are in a company,
00:22:04you all know the feeling
00:22:06that goes with talking about mental health.
00:22:08Your fear, probably.
00:22:09Because, let's admit it,
00:22:11we've all been trained
00:22:12and formatted in the company
00:22:14to bring solutions to the table,
00:22:17not problems,
00:22:18especially personal ones.
00:22:22So, we decided it was high time
00:22:24to face the issue of mental health
00:22:25in the workplace
00:22:27and finally bring a solution
00:22:29that actually provides support
00:22:31and care to the people
00:22:32who need it inside the company.
00:22:34But why and how did we do it?
00:22:36The why is simple.
00:22:37Because people are the most valuable asset
00:22:40of any company right now.
00:22:42Whether you are a small startup
00:22:43from Taiwan
00:22:44or a big corporation
00:22:46operating globally.
00:22:48And our fast-moving economy
00:22:49has drastically increased
00:22:51the level of expectations
00:22:53companies have on their people.
00:22:55And leaders,
00:22:56and most of you are,
00:22:57are more focused than ever
00:22:59on protecting everyone
00:23:00from the downfalls
00:23:01of over-engagement.
00:23:03But the set of tools
00:23:04available right now
00:23:05on the market
00:23:06lacks intelligence
00:23:07in the way it's delivered
00:23:09to the people,
00:23:10but also personalization
00:23:12and impact
00:23:13and therefore scale.
00:23:17At Loom,
00:23:18we focus on delivering
00:23:19the most accessible
00:23:21and smart mental health support
00:23:23at every level
00:23:24in the company.
00:23:25Whether you are an employee,
00:23:27a manager,
00:23:28or a leader.
00:23:29Whether you're coming
00:23:31for some professional issues
00:23:33and you want to be
00:23:33a better leader,
00:23:34you want to be more empathic,
00:23:36or you come for personal issues,
00:23:38stress,
00:23:38maybe grief,
00:23:39we will empower the people
00:23:41with the right support,
00:23:42the right tools,
00:23:42and the right care programs.
00:23:45How do we do this?
00:23:46By mixing the right set
00:23:48of human expertise
00:23:49and technological scalability.
00:23:52Humans are central
00:23:54to what we do.
00:23:55They are here
00:23:56to support employees
00:23:58and managers
00:23:58in their daily struggles
00:23:59and they are to bring
00:24:00this expertise
00:24:01to everybody
00:24:02in the company.
00:24:03But technology
00:24:04is central
00:24:06in being able
00:24:07to provide
00:24:08the right support
00:24:09to the right people
00:24:10at the right time.
00:24:12Our tech
00:24:13allows us to speak
00:24:14sorry,
00:24:15can I go back here?
00:24:15Yes.
00:24:16Our tech
00:24:16allows us to speak
00:24:17a common language
00:24:18between the company's
00:24:20perpetual quest
00:24:21for performance
00:24:22and the needs
00:24:23of their people
00:24:23from top management
00:24:24to factory workers.
00:24:27By mixing
00:24:28a wide variety
00:24:29of data points
00:24:29from usage
00:24:31of our platforms,
00:24:33conversations
00:24:33with our therapists,
00:24:35direct user feedback,
00:24:36some basic
00:24:37company intelligence,
00:24:38we are able
00:24:39to drive
00:24:39the entire company
00:24:40towards
00:24:41an healthier growth model
00:24:43that is based
00:24:44on a never possible
00:24:44before level
00:24:45of emotional intelligence.
00:24:49We have been at work
00:24:50for almost two years now
00:24:51with the bold vision
00:24:52of bridging the gap
00:24:53between how people feel
00:24:54and between
00:24:55what people need.
00:24:57And to serve
00:24:58this vision,
00:24:59we've initially launched
00:25:00to the market
00:25:00with a one-stop-stop solution.
00:25:04Wow, that's complicated.
00:25:05That serves
00:25:06the most essential needs
00:25:08of every single company
00:25:09from creating
00:25:10daily caring reflex,
00:25:12making sure that we know
00:25:13how the people feel
00:25:13in the company,
00:25:14offering human support
00:25:17and scientifically
00:25:18approved content
00:25:18to all,
00:25:20supporting managers
00:25:21in their daily struggles,
00:25:22making sure that
00:25:23they have the right level
00:25:23of emotional intelligence
00:25:26to support their teams,
00:25:28and giving never possible
00:25:30before insights
00:25:31to HR teams
00:25:32on how their people
00:25:33really feel
00:25:33and what they really want.
00:25:36We now support
00:25:37close to 1,000 employees
00:25:38in Europe,
00:25:39and we are very proud
00:25:40of the feedback
00:25:41we get from employees
00:25:42and from companies
00:25:43we're serving.
00:25:44And you know what?
00:25:45That's all wonderful.
00:25:47But this is just
00:25:49the very beginning.
00:25:50The overall issue
00:25:50we're talking about here
00:25:52represents a cost
00:25:53to the society
00:25:54that is over
00:25:54a trillion dollars
00:25:55every year.
00:25:56That's trillion
00:25:57with a T.
00:25:58That's a lot of zeros.
00:25:59I don't even know
00:25:59how to say it in French.
00:26:00And we all know
00:26:01that successfully
00:26:02providing employees,
00:26:04protecting, sorry,
00:26:05employees' mental health
00:26:06and therefore
00:26:07enabling companies
00:26:08to better drive
00:26:10and help your growth
00:26:11is an immensely
00:26:12exciting journey
00:26:13that we'd like
00:26:13all of you
00:26:14to join us on.
00:26:15So,
00:26:16whether it is
00:26:17as partners,
00:26:19customers,
00:26:20investors,
00:26:21or advisors,
00:26:22we want to take together
00:26:23this decisive step
00:26:24towards a smarter
00:26:26and more scalable
00:26:27prevention.
00:26:28By building a technology
00:26:29that will allow people
00:26:30to access programs
00:26:31that are tailored to them,
00:26:32by strengthening
00:26:34our own AI
00:26:34and machine learning
00:26:35towards a more
00:26:37automated prevention
00:26:38and a smarter care support
00:26:39and by making
00:26:41mental health
00:26:43a topic
00:26:43we all want to talk
00:26:44about in our companies.
00:26:46So,
00:26:46my question to you today
00:26:48is,
00:26:49are you ready to talk
00:26:49about mental health?
00:26:50Thank you very much.
00:26:53Ladies and gentlemen,
00:26:54there we are.
00:26:54Keep holding your microphone,
00:26:56shuffle there,
00:26:56absolutely.
00:26:57Let's hear,
00:26:58let's hear what our
00:26:59jury members felt
00:27:00about what they've just heard.
00:27:02Thank you again.
00:27:03I mean,
00:27:04mental health in the workplace
00:27:04is a huge issue.
00:27:06It's one you're tackling.
00:27:06I congratulate you on that.
00:27:10I want to know
00:27:10a little bit more
00:27:11about the app.
00:27:11Tell me a bit more
00:27:12about technology,
00:27:12how it works for me,
00:27:13my engagement, right?
00:27:14So,
00:27:15I'm inputting my data.
00:27:16Where does it go?
00:27:17How do I get it back?
00:27:18What's the feedback loop
00:27:19on this?
00:27:20So,
00:27:20as an individual,
00:27:22you get the service,
00:27:23access to the service.
00:27:24If you're an employee,
00:27:25you get access to service
00:27:26for the employee,
00:27:26a manager,
00:27:27the employee,
00:27:27and plus the service
00:27:28for the manager.
00:27:29Every single data point
00:27:30that you share with us
00:27:31will be able to aggregate
00:27:32this data with the rest
00:27:33of your colleagues
00:27:34and give it back
00:27:35to the company
00:27:36as an insight,
00:27:38as maybe a low signal
00:27:40towards what's going on
00:27:41exactly in the head
00:27:42of the people in the company
00:27:43and what step
00:27:44this company should be taking
00:27:46to protect
00:27:47its employees
00:27:48better in the future.
00:27:49What we do
00:27:50at the core
00:27:51of what we do
00:27:52is really being able
00:27:53to tell the company
00:27:55with simple words
00:27:56and very precise actions
00:27:57how they should act
00:27:58upon this group
00:27:59within the company,
00:28:00maybe this type
00:28:01of employees,
00:28:02maybe this set
00:28:02of people.
00:28:04Okay.
00:28:05Anyone else?
00:28:06What's your closest competitor
00:28:09and what does this
00:28:10do different to theirs?
00:28:12Sure.
00:28:12It depends on how
00:28:13you look at the market.
00:28:16An outline could be
00:28:17a competitor,
00:28:18you know,
00:28:18those 08 numbers
00:28:19that you can call
00:28:19if you're on the edge
00:28:20of jumping up
00:28:22the bridge.
00:28:22but the closest competition
00:28:24we have is probably
00:28:25mental health platforms
00:28:26in general
00:28:27that usually provide
00:28:29psychologists and coaches
00:28:30that you can meet
00:28:31for free
00:28:32because your company
00:28:33pays for that service.
00:28:35But the difference
00:28:36in the approach
00:28:37is that of course
00:28:38we offer that service
00:28:39but for us,
00:28:40once again,
00:28:40as I said during the pitch,
00:28:41the human expertise
00:28:42is only the basics.
00:28:43What we want to put on top
00:28:45is really that technology
00:28:46and that intelligence
00:28:48in the way we
00:28:49pick the people
00:28:50inside the company
00:28:51and say,
00:28:52you personally,
00:28:53you might need this
00:28:53and bridging that gap
00:28:54between what people
00:28:56might feel they need
00:28:57and what they actually need
00:28:58to be better
00:28:58and healthier.
00:29:00You said that you have
00:29:01already 1,000 patients.
00:29:04We're covering
00:29:051,000 employees
00:29:05at the moment.
00:29:061,000 employees.
00:29:07Super hard
00:29:08as a market to address.
00:29:09So,
00:29:10what are you selling
00:29:11at home
00:29:13and how are you
00:29:14going to scale it?
00:29:15Sure.
00:29:16So,
00:29:17we sell,
00:29:17if I just want
00:29:18to sell my business,
00:29:19I go and talk
00:29:20to HR people
00:29:20or people teams.
00:29:22Those teams
00:29:23might involve
00:29:24other teams
00:29:25within the company.
00:29:26But my end user
00:29:28and my best promoter
00:29:29within the company
00:29:30is the employee
00:29:31and even better,
00:29:32the manager.
00:29:33And for us,
00:29:34commercially,
00:29:35like in terms of sales,
00:29:37one of the best ways
00:29:38for us to scale
00:29:38is go through managers
00:29:39of the teams
00:29:40because they are
00:29:41the front line
00:29:42usually when it comes
00:29:43to mental health
00:29:43in the company.
00:29:44And they are the first
00:29:45impacted when someone
00:29:46in their team
00:29:47is feeling low
00:29:47or potentially
00:29:48is taking
00:29:48a long-term leave.
00:29:49So,
00:29:50we talk to those managers
00:29:51and we show
00:29:52the benefits
00:29:52of our platform
00:29:53and our approach
00:29:54in order to better
00:29:55serve the company
00:29:56overall.
00:29:58Ten seconds
00:29:58on the clock.
00:29:59Quick one,
00:29:59quick answer.
00:30:00Julian,
00:30:00very quickly,
00:30:01what savings
00:30:01have you made
00:30:02so far
00:30:03for companies
00:30:03you're supplying?
00:30:04Can you say that again?
00:30:06Okay.
00:30:06What savings
00:30:07have you made
00:30:08so far
00:30:08for the companies
00:30:09you're supplying?
00:30:10In terms of
00:30:11money-wise?
00:30:13Tangible impact.
00:30:14Oh,
00:30:15tangible impact.
00:30:15just the fact
00:30:16that every time
00:30:17there's a session
00:30:18with one of our therapists
00:30:19we get feedback
00:30:20from the employee.
00:30:21Thank you for the time.
00:30:22Feedback from the employee
00:30:23on how well we've impacted
00:30:25its mental health
00:30:26and its well-being
00:30:27in general.
00:30:27That's the grade
00:30:28I was trying earlier.
00:30:29That's all you get.
00:30:29Right.
00:30:30Ladies and gentlemen,
00:30:30hands together
00:30:31for LUM.
00:30:32Fantastic.
00:30:34Again,
00:30:35another intriguing idea.
00:30:36Great idea.
00:30:37Again,
00:30:37you know,
00:30:38that's what it's really
00:30:39all about.
00:30:39Really encouraging
00:30:40those conversations
00:30:41not just in the workplace
00:30:43but certainly in the workplace
00:30:44to really take
00:30:45those conversations forward
00:30:46and help people
00:30:48and communities
00:30:49at the workplace.
00:30:51Right.
00:30:52It's time to move on
00:30:53to the next startup.
00:30:54Again,
00:30:55this crowd seems,
00:30:56doesn't it,
00:30:56crowd seems to get
00:30:57even bigger
00:30:58and bigger
00:30:59as we go on
00:31:00with this session.
00:31:00Again,
00:31:01important ideas,
00:31:02important meanings
00:31:03and great outcomes
00:31:04as well.
00:31:05Let's listen
00:31:05to more startups
00:31:07and more big ideas
00:31:08right now.
00:31:08Ladies and gentlemen,
00:31:09our next startup
00:31:10here at the stage
00:31:11of the Health
00:31:12to Wealth
00:31:13Accord Challenge
00:31:14very simply
00:31:15is Sensei.
00:31:21Hi.
00:31:23I'm happy
00:31:24to be here.
00:31:25I'm Daniel
00:31:25from Sensei.
00:31:26I'm the CSO
00:31:27and co-founder
00:31:28of Sensei.
00:31:31So we're building
00:31:33the,
00:31:34basically we're building
00:31:35the group
00:31:36for mental wellness
00:31:37powered by Touch.
00:31:39So who are we?
00:31:41There are two co-founders.
00:31:43I'm a physiologist
00:31:44and neuroscientist
00:31:45and my co-founder
00:31:47is a serial entrepreneur
00:31:49in music.
00:31:53Yeah.
00:31:55So we're,
00:31:57oh,
00:31:58doesn't work.
00:31:58So what we're doing
00:32:00is we're tackling
00:32:01the,
00:32:03there's a great problem
00:32:04in society.
00:32:05We've all suffered
00:32:06from stress.
00:32:07Ourselves as well,
00:32:08we've both suffered
00:32:09a lot from stress
00:32:10throughout our career
00:32:11in science
00:32:12and in business
00:32:14and entrepreneurs.
00:32:17There is a huge problem
00:32:18in society.
00:32:20Popularity of mental health
00:32:21apps especially
00:32:22have been rising
00:32:23incrementally
00:32:24over the last few years.
00:32:26We have two big problems
00:32:27with these apps
00:32:28that we see.
00:32:29There's a lack
00:32:30of engagement
00:32:31and there's a lack
00:32:33of measuring impact
00:32:34of these apps.
00:32:37So,
00:32:37and then as people
00:32:39don't see tangible results,
00:32:41they tend to give up
00:32:42as you can see
00:32:43from the churn graph here.
00:32:45So what are we doing?
00:32:47So we're building
00:32:48an autonomous
00:32:50mental health
00:32:51well-being wearable.
00:32:53So it's a device
00:32:54you can wear on your arm
00:32:55that can monitor stress
00:32:56to the gold standard,
00:32:58medical standard.
00:33:00And we combine this
00:33:01with physiological monitoring
00:33:02with psychological monitoring.
00:33:05But the key innovation
00:33:06in our device
00:33:07is that it's active.
00:33:09it's a device
00:33:10that employs
00:33:10effective haptics
00:33:12and haptic stimulation
00:33:13so that we can reduce
00:33:15the amount of screen,
00:33:16the amount of negative impact
00:33:17of screen time
00:33:18has on people.
00:33:20So you don't always
00:33:21have to look at an app.
00:33:21You can understand
00:33:22what the device does,
00:33:23what it's telling you,
00:33:25what your physiology
00:33:25is telling you
00:33:26without having to stop
00:33:28your day,
00:33:29without having to look
00:33:29at a screen.
00:33:30You can just feel it.
00:33:32And this is a solution
00:33:33that we've patented
00:33:34and we've shown
00:33:34that it can actually
00:33:35lower stress level
00:33:36and it can also
00:33:37get people more focused.
00:33:39And don't just take
00:33:40my word for it.
00:33:41We've tested this
00:33:42with 150 people
00:33:43over an extended
00:33:44period of time
00:33:45and we have shown
00:33:47that we can have
00:33:48stress detection
00:33:50to the gold standard,
00:33:52gold medical standard.
00:33:53But on top of that,
00:33:54we can also
00:33:55both increase stress,
00:33:57acute stress,
00:33:58can have an impact
00:33:59on chronic stress
00:34:00as measured
00:34:01by heart rate variability.
00:34:04can also show
00:34:05that we can increase
00:34:06people's performance
00:34:07in complex tasks
00:34:11acutely.
00:34:13So,
00:34:14where are we
00:34:15in this space?
00:34:16So,
00:34:16we're placing ourselves
00:34:18in between monitoring
00:34:19and haptic therapies.
00:34:21So,
00:34:22we're,
00:34:22by integrating these two
00:34:24and integrating it
00:34:25with coaching,
00:34:26we believe that
00:34:27we can have a big impact
00:34:28on the sectors
00:34:29of coaching
00:34:30and on general
00:34:32and mental well-being
00:34:33and tools
00:34:33by measuring
00:34:35the impact
00:34:36of these.
00:34:38So,
00:34:39a business model,
00:34:40what we're actually doing,
00:34:42we're,
00:34:43end of this year,
00:34:44launching a program
00:34:45focused on performance
00:34:47with coaches,
00:34:49where we're working
00:34:50with dedicated coaches
00:34:51and the device.
00:34:53Next stage,
00:34:54phase two,
00:34:54we're looking more
00:34:55going into enterprise
00:34:56and we're already
00:34:59in talks
00:35:00with several corporate
00:35:01wellness platforms
00:35:02and the final stage
00:35:04is we're actually
00:35:05working already
00:35:05on getting it
00:35:07medically certified
00:35:08and doing clinical studies
00:35:09so that we could get
00:35:10in reimbursed
00:35:11by insurance.
00:35:13so our first
00:35:15phase one
00:35:16project,
00:35:16product
00:35:17is a
00:35:1912-month program
00:35:20for the corporate athlete
00:35:21where you get
00:35:23the hardware,
00:35:24the wearable device,
00:35:25you get the app,
00:35:26you get access
00:35:27to all the exercises
00:35:28that we've built
00:35:29with Haptics
00:35:29and you get
00:35:30a dedicated coach,
00:35:33dedicated online coach.
00:35:35So this program,
00:35:37we're charging
00:35:372,500 US dollars
00:35:39for a 12-week program.
00:35:43So where we're at now,
00:35:45we're starting to get,
00:35:46hoping to get revenue
00:35:47end of this year
00:35:48and then moving to,
00:35:51up to,
00:35:52raising up to
00:35:5357 million revenue
00:35:54by 2026.
00:35:57So we have a strong
00:35:59interdisciplinary team
00:36:00very much focused
00:36:01around neuroscience,
00:36:03health psychology,
00:36:03sports psychology,
00:36:06as well as
00:36:06machine learning
00:36:07and software
00:36:09and hardware
00:36:11and a group
00:36:11of great advisors
00:36:12who help us
00:36:14navigate the space.
00:36:16So what were you
00:36:17doing just now?
00:36:18We're just now
00:36:19raising a 1.2 million
00:36:21pre-seed round
00:36:22for our initial
00:36:24go-to-market
00:36:25and runway
00:36:25for finalizing
00:36:27development of the project.
00:36:28we have,
00:36:29this round is led
00:36:31by Danish entrepreneur
00:36:32Sune Alstrup
00:36:33who exited
00:36:34iTribe
00:36:35to
00:36:36Oculus
00:36:37and Meta
00:36:38and
00:36:39by a leading
00:36:40early investor
00:36:41in the group.
00:36:44Thank you.
00:36:48Wonderful.
00:36:49Right.
00:36:50Take a stand there.
00:36:51Absolutely right.
00:36:53Let's hear from
00:36:53our jury members
00:36:54about what
00:36:55they've just heard.
00:36:55Perfect.
00:36:56Thank you, Dan.
00:36:57Great proposition
00:36:58and I really thought
00:37:00the overall
00:37:01business model
00:37:02was also
00:37:03incredibly interesting
00:37:04and that's why
00:37:05I have some questions.
00:37:06Could you tell us
00:37:07maybe a little bit
00:37:08about
00:37:09already having
00:37:10maybe some leads
00:37:11when it comes
00:37:11to the corporate
00:37:12athletes
00:37:13and how that
00:37:14corporate athlete
00:37:15program,
00:37:16which I think
00:37:16is a smart way
00:37:17to basically lean
00:37:19into
00:37:19a more consumer-ready
00:37:21business product
00:37:22afterwards,
00:37:23how that process
00:37:24works and whether
00:37:25you've identified
00:37:26already some leads?
00:37:27So we have
00:37:28already a waiting list
00:37:30of 200 coaches
00:37:31and therapists
00:37:32who are very keen
00:37:34to use this
00:37:34with their existing
00:37:35clients
00:37:36to sign up
00:37:36their existing
00:37:37clients
00:37:37to this program.
00:37:39And can you tell us
00:37:40a little bit more
00:37:41what you expect
00:37:42to come out of this
00:37:43after the
00:37:44basically, I guess,
00:37:45phase of
00:37:47going into
00:37:47the corporate athletes
00:37:48and how you were
00:37:49then going to
00:37:50use that
00:37:51into
00:37:52consumer-wearable
00:37:53and when
00:37:54do you also
00:37:55maybe as a last
00:37:56question for myself,
00:37:57when do you think
00:37:59to basically
00:38:00break even?
00:38:01So for the first
00:38:03ones, what we're
00:38:04basically using
00:38:04this first phase
00:38:05for is to gather
00:38:07data, gather
00:38:07insights,
00:38:08where we're actually
00:38:09trying to build
00:38:10an autonomous system
00:38:11that can sort of
00:38:13assist the coach
00:38:14but also that could
00:38:15be used more
00:38:16for consumer market.
00:38:19But we're using
00:38:20the coaches,
00:38:20using their expertise
00:38:21to also help us
00:38:22build the product
00:38:23in the meantime
00:38:24in the background.
00:38:25So long-term,
00:38:26you might not
00:38:26work also without
00:38:28a coach.
00:38:31Hello, thanks.
00:38:32Thanks for that.
00:38:33So it's a super
00:38:34ambitious project
00:38:35with hardware components.
00:38:37I'm afraid
00:38:38that 1.2 million
00:38:40must be super
00:38:41limited to start.
00:38:43Have you already
00:38:45backing from
00:38:46large pocket investors
00:38:47who are able
00:38:48also to sustain
00:38:49you afterwards?
00:38:50So for the first
00:38:51phase, we've already
00:38:52completed the first
00:38:53phase for our
00:38:54hardware, so that's
00:38:54already done and
00:38:55already paid for.
00:38:57So this is
00:38:58literally, this round
00:38:59now is for this
00:39:02initial go-to-market.
00:39:03We have a lot of
00:39:04leads for basically
00:39:05for the corporate
00:39:06athlete program
00:39:07and then we have a
00:39:08lot of leads
00:39:09already talking to
00:39:10a lot of different
00:39:10funds for the next
00:39:12phase.
00:39:14Tell me a little
00:39:15bit more about
00:39:16the haptics side.
00:39:20Tell me a little
00:39:21bit more about
00:39:21the haptics,
00:39:22which is the
00:39:22innovation, and
00:39:23what does that
00:39:24allow me as an
00:39:25individual to do
00:39:25without looking at
00:39:27the screen?
00:39:28So I can just,
00:39:29does it retrain my
00:39:31brain to understand
00:39:31what you're doing?
00:39:32Just try and
00:39:33explain that a bit
00:39:34more.
00:39:34Sure.
00:39:35So there's two
00:39:36sides to it.
00:39:37We all use the
00:39:38bus of our phone.
00:39:39This is very
00:39:40different.
00:39:41It's very much a
00:39:41low frequency
00:39:44stimulation, which
00:39:45is more akin to
00:39:47personal touch or
00:39:48friend touching
00:39:49you, which is why
00:39:50we can have these
00:39:50calming effects.
00:39:51The other side to
00:39:53it is that we
00:39:53also have developed
00:39:55and patented a
00:39:56system for
00:39:58personalizing, make
00:39:59it easy to learn
00:40:00things so that you
00:40:01can train.
00:40:02What a wonderful
00:40:03sound.
00:40:03Well, no, it's not
00:40:04so wonderful right
00:40:04now, but usually
00:40:05it's wonderful, not
00:40:06right now on stage.
00:40:06Ladies and
00:40:07gentlemen, hands
00:40:08together for our
00:40:09startup.
00:40:10Sensei, well
00:40:10done.
00:40:13Wonderful.
00:40:14There we are already
00:40:15some great big
00:40:15ideas.
00:40:16Could you, I
00:40:16ask you now, could
00:40:17you choose a
00:40:18winner?
00:40:19Don't say anything,
00:40:20but in your mind,
00:40:21working it through,
00:40:22could you choose
00:40:23first, second, and
00:40:24third already?
00:40:24Maybe we already
00:40:25have those winners,
00:40:26maybe not.
00:40:27We'll find out very
00:40:28shortly after our
00:40:30next, after our
00:40:31startups, our six
00:40:32startups have all
00:40:33shared their big
00:40:34ideas.
00:40:36Let's move on.
00:40:36Our next startup
00:40:38right now, please
00:40:38welcome to the stage,
00:40:39stair wage.
00:40:45Hi, everyone.
00:40:47Enough.
00:40:48It's enough.
00:40:5065% of French
00:40:52people are
00:40:52financially stressed.
00:40:5361% of French
00:40:55people are at least
00:40:56once a year above
00:40:57authorized bank
00:40:58overdraft.
00:40:59The result is
00:41:00terrible.
00:41:01It's 7 billion
00:41:02euros that are paid
00:41:03by French people for
00:41:04interest in bank
00:41:05overdraft fees.
00:41:06that's huge.
00:41:08And it's time for
00:41:09a change.
00:41:10It's time for
00:41:10stair wage.
00:41:12One vision, one
00:41:14mission, and it's
00:41:15to improve the
00:41:16financial well-being
00:41:17of employees in
00:41:19France, but also in
00:41:20Europe, and to
00:41:21improve the mental
00:41:22health.
00:41:22But how can we
00:41:23achieve that?
00:41:27we have built
00:41:29a solution that
00:41:31is around three
00:41:31main parts.
00:41:33A technical
00:41:33part, a
00:41:34financial part, and
00:41:35a financial
00:41:36education and
00:41:37support.
00:41:38Let's start with
00:41:39the technical
00:41:40part.
00:41:40For the technical
00:41:41part, what we
00:41:42have built, it's
00:41:43an application that
00:41:45provides an
00:41:46access, a real-time
00:41:47access to already
00:41:49earned wage.
00:41:51So in that
00:41:52way, the
00:41:53employees can act
00:41:55proactively to face
00:41:57unexpected events
00:41:58and not for not
00:41:59paying AGOs or
00:42:00interest or bank
00:42:01overdraft fees.
00:42:02That's very easy to
00:42:04use, but very
00:42:04accessible.
00:42:05And the thing is
00:42:06that it's already
00:42:07accessible on
00:42:08iOS, on
00:42:09Android, on
00:42:10web app, and
00:42:11it's very easy
00:42:14to use, very
00:42:14accessible, and
00:42:16already translated
00:42:18in seven
00:42:18languages.
00:42:23On the other
00:42:24hand, what we
00:42:25have built, it's a
00:42:26dashboard dedicated
00:42:27to the employer.
00:42:29And for the
00:42:30employer, they can
00:42:32do three things on
00:42:32this dashboard.
00:42:33They can monitor,
00:42:34they can analyze,
00:42:36and they can set up
00:42:37the tool the way
00:42:38they want it to be
00:42:39because that's the
00:42:40employer that's
00:42:41going to decide all
00:42:41the rules for
00:42:42accepting or refusing
00:42:43all the down
00:42:44payments.
00:42:45that means that
00:42:46they're going to
00:42:47define as well the
00:42:48number of down
00:42:48payments during the
00:42:49month.
00:42:49They're going to
00:42:50define the
00:42:50percentage of
00:42:51salary available
00:42:52during the month
00:42:53for the employee.
00:42:53They're going to
00:42:54determine the
00:42:55average amount.
00:42:56So that's the
00:42:57employers that
00:42:58are going to
00:42:58define all the
00:42:59rules because
00:43:00that's the
00:43:00employers that
00:43:01are going to
00:43:01pay a license
00:43:02for all the
00:43:03employees of
00:43:04the company.
00:43:05And one thing
00:43:06that is important,
00:43:07very important,
00:43:08that it's totally
00:43:08free for the
00:43:10employee.
00:43:12One more thing.
00:43:13That's a plug-and-play
00:43:14solution.
00:43:15So that means that
00:43:16we are not on a
00:43:16six-month project.
00:43:18That's a one-week
00:43:19project to get
00:43:19plugged to the
00:43:21payroll system
00:43:21because we must
00:43:22be connected to
00:43:24the payroll system
00:43:25to get the
00:43:25information and to
00:43:26provide the
00:43:27information around
00:43:27the down payments.
00:43:32Second part of
00:43:33stair wage, that's
00:43:35the financial part
00:43:35and that's why we
00:43:36are at the
00:43:37crossroad on the
00:43:38crossroad between
00:43:38the HR tech and
00:43:39the fintech part
00:43:40because we pay
00:43:42directly the down
00:43:44payments to the
00:43:45employees and
00:43:46there are two
00:43:46main things for
00:43:48that.
00:43:49There is no cash
00:43:50flow impact on
00:43:51the company as
00:43:52you don't pay the
00:43:53down payments during
00:43:53the month but of
00:43:54course you refund us
00:43:55at the end of the
00:43:56month or at the
00:43:56beginning of the
00:43:57month when during
00:43:58the pay slip and
00:43:59then we use the
00:44:00instant payment.
00:44:01That means that
00:44:01when the employees
00:44:03get a problem, a
00:44:05financial problem and
00:44:06there is an
00:44:07emergency, then they
00:44:08can act with
00:44:09emergency as well and
00:44:10get in two seconds,
00:44:11in seven seconds to
00:44:12be precise, they
00:44:13can get the money
00:44:14on their bank
00:44:14account.
00:44:17The third part of
00:44:18stair wage is
00:44:19around the financial
00:44:22education and
00:44:23support.
00:44:24So what we can do
00:44:25today, we can get
00:44:26connected to the bank
00:44:27account of the
00:44:28employees and provide
00:44:29tips, financial tips
00:44:31to help them to be
00:44:33above zero at the
00:44:34end of the month and
00:44:35for not avoiding to
00:44:36pay ages, interest and
00:44:38bank of address fees
00:44:39again.
00:44:40And on the other
00:44:42side, what we have
00:44:42done, we have
00:44:43partnered with
00:44:44Prezius, that is a
00:44:45major organization in
00:44:46France, for helping
00:44:48people to better
00:44:50manage in a better
00:44:51way their budget and
00:44:52always to be above
00:44:54zero at the end of
00:44:55the month for not
00:44:56paying ages and
00:44:57interest and bank
00:44:58overdraft fees.
00:45:00So today, one
00:45:03mission, one goal,
00:45:04is to improve the
00:45:05financial well-being of
00:45:07the employees in
00:45:08France, but also in
00:45:09Europe, as we are
00:45:10already in France and
00:45:11in Spain.
00:45:12And of course, it's
00:45:16time for a change and
00:45:18it's time for stair
00:45:19wage.
00:45:19Thank you.
00:45:23Wonderful.
00:45:24Keep holding that
00:45:25microphone.
00:45:26Just down here.
00:45:27That's right.
00:45:27Let's hear from our
00:45:28jury members.
00:45:29So an excellent
00:45:31idea.
00:45:31I get the idea.
00:45:34how linked is the
00:45:35education to the
00:45:37drawing down of funds?
00:45:38Do I have to do some
00:45:39level of education if I
00:45:41draw down funds?
00:45:42Does the company set
00:45:42that?
00:45:43It's kind of like, do
00:45:44you give me a fish or
00:45:45do you teach me to
00:45:46fish?
00:45:47Question.
00:45:48Well, I teach you to
00:45:50fish, actually.
00:45:51I teach you to fish
00:45:52because, I mean, we
00:45:53provide you, I mean,
00:45:54tips, personal tips as
00:45:55we get connected to your
00:45:57bank account.
00:45:57And like that way, we
00:45:59can categorize all your
00:46:02consumption and then, I
00:46:03mean, provide you some
00:46:04predictive and tell you,
00:46:06yeah, at that day, you
00:46:07will be, I mean, for
00:46:08instance, a bank of a
00:46:09draft.
00:46:10And then it's easier for
00:46:11you, I mean, to better
00:46:12manage your budget.
00:46:13Then there is a second
00:46:14part with our partner and
00:46:16where we can provide some
00:46:18budget advice.
00:46:21And what's the business
00:46:22model?
00:46:23How much do I as a
00:46:24company have to pay you to
00:46:26manage this?
00:46:27and is it dependent upon
00:46:28how many loans or
00:46:30advances my employees are
00:46:31taking?
00:46:32What's that?
00:46:33No, it's not an interest
00:46:34rate model.
00:46:35It's a license model.
00:46:36So that means that
00:46:37depending of the number
00:46:39of employees within your
00:46:40company.
00:46:41So more you have in your
00:46:43company, less the price
00:46:44is expensive, of course.
00:46:45But it's not an interest
00:46:47rate.
00:46:48So you have no credit
00:46:50risk associated with the
00:46:52model?
00:46:53No, because, I mean, the
00:46:55thing is that we have
00:46:56credit analysis before
00:46:58before providing that.
00:46:59OK, but you have, however,
00:47:02a credit risk associated
00:47:04to the fact that during a
00:47:06period of time you need to
00:47:07cover it for very active
00:47:09and sustainable customers.
00:47:11But anyway.
00:47:12I understand what you mean.
00:47:13But the thing is that it's
00:47:14very short credit as it's
00:47:16an average 15 days as it's
00:47:1915, 20 days.
00:47:21So it's very, very short
00:47:22term.
00:47:24Great project.
00:47:25I mean, clearly, I mean, and
00:47:27I guess that financial stress
00:47:29is a high cause of mental
00:47:33distress.
00:47:34The main one.
00:47:35The main one.
00:47:36So it's and we never took that
00:47:38seriously really in the
00:47:39companies.
00:47:40Two questions for you.
00:47:42What are your results already?
00:47:45Because we see a lot of
00:47:46competitors in this field.
00:47:48And second, how do you scale
00:47:50your business?
00:47:50How do you make sure it's
00:47:52efficient for you to sell?
00:47:53So you have in front of you
00:47:55the little one for start.
00:47:57And then, I mean, we're
00:47:58already in France and in
00:47:59Spain.
00:48:00And it's very easy, I mean, to
00:48:01scale it because it's just a
00:48:05low, low problem.
00:48:06I mean, actually low
00:48:08problematic.
00:48:08But it's it's quite easy, I
00:48:10mean, to scale because as
00:48:11long as you can get connected,
00:48:13I mean, to all the payroll
00:48:13system, it's very easy.
00:48:15So how many payroll systems
00:48:17have you connected to?
00:48:19The main one, at least the
00:48:21main one, because, I mean,
00:48:22you have in France.
00:48:23And in the world, you have
00:48:25eight major one.
00:48:26And actually today, I mean,
00:48:28we are linked to the main
00:48:29one.
00:48:30And that wraps up the
00:48:31session, ladies and
00:48:32gentlemen, please put your
00:48:33hands together.
00:48:34Thank you.
00:48:34Stairways.
00:48:36Just in time.
00:48:37Guess what?
00:48:38We are already on the last
00:48:40startup of six.
00:48:41We've already heard five
00:48:42about to hear the six.
00:48:44Now, doesn't time go so
00:48:45quickly?
00:48:46Yes, it does.
00:48:47And we're going to hear
00:48:48what that's what the last
00:48:49startup really has to offer
00:48:50in terms of impact and also
00:48:52sharing their big idea.
00:48:54Ladies and gentlemen, put
00:48:55your hands together for our
00:48:56last startup of, it seems
00:48:58so sad, last startup of
00:49:00the session right now.
00:49:02Please put your hands
00:49:02together for Rebalance
00:49:03Tech.
00:49:10Hi, everyone.
00:49:11My name is Corinne.
00:49:12I'm one of the two
00:49:14founders of Rebalance
00:49:15Tech.
00:49:16Today, I'm going to present
00:49:17you a machine that is going
00:49:18to change people's lives.
00:49:20I'm sure everyone here in
00:49:22this room has already
00:49:23experienced stress.
00:49:25I'm not talking about
00:49:26positive stress.
00:49:27I'm talking about chronic
00:49:29stress.
00:49:30The one that settles slowly
00:49:32but deeply into your daily
00:49:33life and becomes a real
00:49:36health issue.
00:49:38Now, let's try to make it
00:49:40easy.
00:49:42The chronic stress is mainly
00:49:44an imbalance of the
00:49:46autonomic nervous system.
00:49:47The autonomic nervous system
00:49:49has two branches.
00:49:51The ortho-sympathetic and
00:49:53the parasympathetic.
00:49:55The accelerator and the
00:49:56brake.
00:49:57And today's society forces us
00:49:59to always push on the
00:50:00accelerator.
00:50:02Imagine driving a car
00:50:04without brakes.
00:50:05Not easy and not good at
00:50:07its end.
00:50:09Well, let's have a look at
00:50:11some figures in order to
00:50:12understand what the stakes
00:50:13are.
00:50:13Now, just the statistics in
00:50:17the U.S. are alarming.
00:50:1973% of the people report
00:50:22having experiencing stress
00:50:25that impact their mental
00:50:27health.
00:50:2866% of the workers report
00:50:32having lost sleep due to
00:50:34stress.
00:50:35The more you are stressed,
00:50:37the less you sleep.
00:50:38And the less you sleep,
00:50:40the more you are stressed.
00:50:43What if the solution to
00:50:46chronic stress was just in
00:50:47front of you?
00:50:49Rebalance Impulse is the
00:50:50first machine that assembles
00:50:52the best of the applied
00:50:55neurosciences, like
00:50:56synchromotherapy, breathing
00:50:58exercises, body scan,
00:51:00sound therapy.
00:51:01but we also use neuro and
00:51:05biofeedback.
00:51:06And together with feeling
00:51:08back, we are able to
00:51:10provide the users with
00:51:12various indices that help
00:51:16them to follow their
00:51:17progress session after
00:51:19session.
00:51:20With Rebalance Impulse, we
00:51:23train your brain.
00:51:24No more pills.
00:51:26For the first time, we have
00:51:29a 100% non-invasive solution
00:51:34that works.
00:51:35We have been able to prove
00:51:37scientifically that we
00:51:40drastically reduce stress
00:51:42levels and that we
00:51:43drastically increase, improve
00:51:46the quality of sleep.
00:51:48Our studies have shown that
00:51:50with only four sessions, you
00:51:53can recover sleep.
00:51:55You can recover a good
00:51:57quality of sleep, which is
00:51:59the key to a good quality
00:52:01of life.
00:52:04What are our markets?
00:52:07We have six different
00:52:08targets, and we are already
00:52:11present into the med
00:52:12wellness and the spas, and
00:52:14we also work with professional
00:52:18of sports, with national
00:52:20teams, and high-level
00:52:23athletes.
00:52:26Our business model is B2B2C.
00:52:31Well, B2B, we sell machines
00:52:33with eight program packages,
00:52:37such as neuro relaxation,
00:52:41sleep, memory, concentration,
00:52:44and we have also additional
00:52:46programs that are available
00:52:48on a monthly fee.
00:52:52The B2C, the second B2C,
00:52:55it's for the end user.
00:52:57The end user is going to be
00:52:58able to have sessions for
00:53:00approximately 70 euros,
00:53:03and they are able to monitor
00:53:06their progress session after
00:53:07session.
00:53:08and all the programs are
00:53:12available in seven languages.
00:53:16The effectiveness is higher
00:53:17when it is done into your
00:53:19mother language, because your
00:53:21brain does not concentrate on
00:53:23understanding the language,
00:53:26but on the exercises.
00:53:28Remember, we train your brain.
00:53:32now let me show you a few images
00:53:35so you can understand what is
00:53:37the, or how, what does it look
00:53:40like to be into a rebalancing
00:53:43pulse.
00:53:47No?
00:53:52Sorry.
00:53:53It doesn't work.
00:53:54I don't know why.
00:53:55I had a video normally for you,
00:53:59but that's okay.
00:54:01So I have one question.
00:54:03Are you ready to rebalance your life?
00:54:09That question there, only we can
00:54:11answer that ourselves.
00:54:13Jury won't answer that right now,
00:54:14but what they will ask you is a
00:54:15few questions about what you've
00:54:17just shared.
00:54:21Yes, go ahead.
00:54:24Corinne, thank you so much for
00:54:25that.
00:54:26Where are you seeing the most
00:54:28traction in your pre-orders, in
00:54:30the target markets you were
00:54:31talking about?
00:54:33Yeah, you're talking about the
00:54:36The pre-orders in your target
00:54:38markets, where are they
00:54:39happening?
00:54:40Yeah, they are happening from
00:54:41MedWellness and also
00:54:45professional of the sports.
00:54:47What we did today is, as of
00:54:51today, is that we try to reach
00:54:54the main targets in order to see
00:54:56if there was a real need.
00:54:58And now we have pre-orders from
00:55:01MedWellness Spa, higher
00:55:04athletes, and also fitness center.
00:55:09We are currently talking to
00:55:12fitness centers while they have
00:55:15chains.
00:55:16So for us, it's really not
00:55:18implementing one machine, it's
00:55:21implementing 200 or 300 machines
00:55:24into this fitness.
00:55:28What is your addressable market
00:55:31if you look all over the world?
00:55:33I mean, because it's a new market
00:55:36that you're opening.
00:55:37Well, it's a new market we are
00:55:40opening, but it's a real health
00:55:42issue we are answering to.
00:55:44So for us, it's not, let's take
00:55:46the MedWellness.
00:55:47It's just reaching people and
00:55:51businesses who are willing to have
00:55:53the cutting-edge solutions.
00:55:56And it can be implementing within a
00:56:00phalasso or a spa into another
00:56:03full program, a weekly program, for
00:56:06instance.
00:56:07And do you need qualified personnel to
00:56:10operate the machine?
00:56:11Do you need advisors?
00:56:13No, it's really easy.
00:56:14We wanted it to be very easy and we
00:56:16wanted the personnel who was going to
00:56:19implement, to operate it, to have one
00:56:22mission is to be really smiling and
00:56:25into it because we are dealing with
00:56:27people who are really stressed.
00:56:29So the app to launch, to start a
00:56:33station is on a tablet and it's really
00:56:37easy to follow.
00:56:39And with one session, you already see
00:56:41an impact?
00:56:42Yes, we do.
00:56:43We do.
00:56:44One session, we already have an
00:56:47improvement of quality of sleep.
00:56:49And it's like if you haven't slept for
00:56:5310 years, then it's going to take
00:56:56four or five sessions.
00:56:58But if it's already in the beginning,
00:57:01the first stage, then as soon as you
00:57:04have one session, you see the impact.
00:57:06What's the price per bed?
00:57:08What's the production cost?
00:57:09What's the sales price?
00:57:10Production cost, I will not tell here,
00:57:12but we can discuss together later.
00:57:15But I can tell you the selling price.
00:57:19What's the sales price?
00:57:19The sales price.
00:57:21Okay, the machine, we wanted it to be
00:57:22affordable.
00:57:23Okay, so it's 39,000 euros.
00:57:28As if by magic, right on the gong, that's
00:57:31when the price comes out.
00:57:32Right, ladies and gentlemen, hands
00:57:33together for Rebalance Tech.
00:57:35Wonderful.
00:57:37Fantastic.
00:57:38Right.
00:57:38Guess what?
00:57:39I know it's hard to believe, but yes,
00:57:41we've come to the end of this session.
00:57:43At the end of hearing all these, you'll
00:57:46agree with me, really great ideas.
00:57:48Ideas that have helped us to kind of
00:57:50think, helped us to feel curious, and
00:57:53maybe even helped us to encourage a
00:57:55conversation, maybe with some of the
00:57:56startups that have actually shared their
00:57:58ideas here on stage.
00:57:59Okay, what happens now?
00:58:02What happens now is very simple.
00:58:04What happens now is, well, in a few
00:58:06moments' time, our jury members, because
00:58:07I'm looking at the jury members as you
00:58:09are as well.
00:58:10I've kind of got my favorites.
00:58:11You've got yours.
00:58:12I'm sure the jury members have theirs.
00:58:15But again, poker faces, not giving much
00:58:18away at all.
00:58:19Don't really know what's going on inside
00:58:21those brains at all.
00:58:23We'll find out very soon, though.
00:58:25So what will happen very shortly, our
00:58:26jury members will go off.
00:58:28They will together discuss.
00:58:29Not right now.
00:58:30Not right now.
00:58:31You look, that's a great way.
00:58:33Yeah, almost.
00:58:34Not right now.
00:58:35But before we do that, in the meantime,
00:58:37what we're going to do right now is get
00:58:38more of a flavor of what Health to
00:58:41Wealth is all about.
00:58:42More of a flavor of what Accord does as
00:58:44well through this video.
00:58:46So join us back here in about four
00:58:47minutes' time when we reveal the winners
00:58:50of the competition.
00:59:28of the competition.
00:59:36Wealth to criticize, again,

01:04:59is a really important thing, so if anything comes
01:05:00out of this and these pitches, that's a really important
01:05:02message to get across. Absolutely, and before we
01:05:04actually announce the winner, again, just one thing
01:05:06I'd like to share with you as well
01:05:08again, you're curious, you're intrigued
01:05:10you'd like to know more, you've already
01:05:12you've kind of smiled and you're curious
01:05:15about the conversations
01:05:16and the ideas that we've shared here on stage
01:05:19probably a very good idea to go
01:05:21to the Health to Wealth website, you can check
01:05:22out everything there and also remember
01:05:24the podcast, the Health to Wealth podcast
01:05:27a fantastic podcast
01:05:28which really delves into
01:05:31those discussions, delves into
01:05:33really good interviews as well
01:05:34and there's actually Annie Hood there, she's
01:05:37a great, a fantastic, a round of
01:05:39applause for Annie Hood
01:05:40and you're clapping and you haven't even heard
01:05:43her on the podcast, go to
01:05:45the podcast and listen to it and you'll remember
01:05:47this clap for what we've just done
01:05:49right, I think it's time
01:05:51now to find out
01:05:53who that winner is, I'm going to
01:05:55pop over here
01:05:56I'm going to hand that to you
01:05:59and let's find out who
01:06:01the winner is of the Accor Health
01:06:03to Wealth Challenge
01:06:04thank you very much and just
01:06:07before we announce the winner
01:06:08let me just say guys, you have all done
01:06:10an excellent job, the reason why we were
01:06:13debating relatively heatedly is because
01:06:14you have done an excellent job, so well done
01:06:16you were on the money when it comes to
01:06:19the mental health issues that we
01:06:21see nowadays arising in
01:06:23society due to the pandemic
01:06:24but also other environmental factors
01:06:27so really well done and congratulations
01:06:29of course there is
01:06:30one winner which we eventually as
01:06:33the jury ultimately decided
01:06:34on with a couple of caveats
01:06:37but let me first announce the winner and that
01:06:38winner is Stairwage
01:06:40Ladies and gentlemen, hands together
01:06:42for Stairwage, the winner
01:06:44of the Accor Health to Wealth Challenge
01:06:46here he comes now. Very well done. Well done
01:06:49congratulations
01:06:51Very well done
01:06:52so Jan, what we thought
01:06:54was absolutely brilliant was
01:06:56first of all, as we said, it was on the money
01:06:58financial stress is
01:07:00the number one issue that
01:07:02people experience in their lives
01:07:04this is a solution
01:07:06that you have found that is already ready
01:07:08it's relatively scalable, it's got good
01:07:10financial viability as well
01:07:12what we thought was really important
01:07:14as a jury though is
01:07:15to make sure that education
01:07:18the educational piece
01:07:20is absolutely critical and fundamental
01:07:22to people getting access
01:07:23to the money
01:07:24in case they get
01:07:26basically the money a little bit
01:07:27before that
01:07:28because what we don't want
01:07:29is obviously to incentivize
01:07:31behavior to aggravate
01:07:33an already existing problem
01:07:35so the overall educational piece
01:07:37is absolutely critical
01:07:38and key
01:07:38but really well done
01:07:39thanks for that
01:07:41I'm going to give you this
01:07:42all it needs
01:07:43all we need is 60 seconds
01:07:44not even 60 seconds
01:07:45how does it feel to be a winner
01:07:47but thank you very much
01:07:49thank you very much to the jury
01:07:50special thanks as well to Annie
01:07:51that helped a lot
01:07:53you don't see
01:07:53I mean what it's going around
01:07:55but it's
01:07:55she helped out a lot
01:07:57I'm very happy
01:07:58to win this special prize
01:08:01because that's something
01:08:02very important
01:08:03I mean I think
01:08:04in the next
01:08:04in the future
01:08:05and I think it can help
01:08:06a lot the employees
01:08:08and for not being
01:08:09any more financially stressed
01:08:11because that's something
01:08:12very very important
01:08:13and I really hope
01:08:15that a lot
01:08:16and more and more companies
01:08:17will take stair wage
01:08:19and I think it's important
01:08:20and I think it's the future
01:08:21of the wage
01:08:21thank you
