A drunk man allegedly created a major disturbance in Indiranagar, Bengaluru, on February 17, 2026, by standing in front of a Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus and preventing it from moving.
According to witnesses, the man positioned himself directly in front of the bus on a busy road, causing traffic disruption. He reportedly made abusive hand gestures, including showing the middle finger, and attempted to provoke the driver through verbal abuse.
The incident raised concerns about passenger safety and road discipline, as the obstruction led to traffic congestion and posed risks to other motorists.
While similar incidents have been reported in other parts of Bengaluru in the past, this episode in Indiranagar has sparked fresh criticism over civic indiscipline and irresponsible behaviour under the influence of alcohol.
Police action in the matter is awaited.
