00:00Images of military drills by Iran's Revolutionary Guard in the Strait of Hormuz, broadcast on Iranian state television.
00:08The exercises, overseen by General Mohammed Pagbor, aim to repair the guards for potential security and military threats,
00:16after the U.S. deployed a large naval force to the area.
00:20They come ahead of a second round of nuclear talks in Switzerland, between Iran and the U.S., mediated by
00:28Oman.
00:28Iran's foreign minister, who has already had a meeting with the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Geneva,
00:35indicated on X that he was ready to achieve a fair and equitable deal, but added that Iran would not
00:42submit to threats.
00:43Speaking from Air Force One, U.S. President Donald Trump criticized Iran's approach to the negotiations,
00:51and warned there would be repercussions if they didn't reach a deal.
00:55Iran's a very tough negotiator, they're good negotiators, or bad negotiators, I would say they're bad negotiators,
01:00because we could have had a deal instead of sending the B-2s in to knock out their nuclear potential.
01:07I think they want to make a deal.
01:08I don't think they want the consequences of not making a deal, they want to make a deal.
01:13The two countries had resumed talks on the 6th of February in Amman, the first since a 12-day war
01:20in June last year,
01:21during which American B-2 bombers hit Iranian nuclear sites.
01:25One major sticking point for the negotiations is Washington's demand that Tehran cease all uranium enrichment.
01:32U.S. President Donald Trump is pushing Iran to agree to a deal,
01:36and has announced that he's deploying a second aircraft carrier, the Gerald Ford, to the Middle East.
01:41To be continued...
