00:05Korean leader Kim Jong-un is now preparing to designate his daughter Joo Ae as his successor.
00:11So what do we know about her, Stuart? Well, to be honest, we don't know that much, as is often

00:16case with North Korea. We don't know her age. We think that she is likely in her early teens. She
00:21was first spotted publicly with her father in 2022. Since then, she's increasingly been seen
00:27by his side, notably when she came here to Beijing as part of that massive military parade that we
00:33saw last year in September, when she was rubbing shoulders with leaders from China, from Russia,
00:38from other countries as well. And what about her role? Well, the South Korean authorities think
00:43that she is also taking increasing interest in expressing her views on policy decisions
00:48in North Korea as well. And it's these factors, perhaps, that have pushed them to the conclusion
00:54that her father could be paving the way for her to become the eventual leader. But as with all things
01:00in North Korea, a state that is shrouded in secrecy, we really don't know until it's made official.
