06:36Then on the back of the bus, we'll create a space for transporting
06:40all of their bikes and ATVs that also transforms into a comfortable outdoor lounge.

06:52plenty of space for storage, and an upscale dining area.

07:38In Spearfish, this place provides buses for schools, tours, events, you name it.
07:43And that means they're constantly putting new buses on the road
07:46and selling off the used ones. That's exactly what I need.

11:43With something like 24 seats, each one fastened down by, uh, 20 bolts.
11:49There's almost 500 bolts to pull all of these seats out
11:54And most of them are rusted in and so sometimes you have to use a grinder sometimes use drill

15:05One of the tricks with shortening this bus is that you have to shorten the electrical wires
15:12There's coolant lines and all the wires have to be marked so we know which lights they go to
15:17There's backup sensors. There's all kinds of different things. It's not just as simple as chopping metal and reweldment together
15:22We're gonna back the bus up in front of Rodney's shop so we can use the concrete to lay on to finish cutting

19:06We found this school bus but we don't want it to look like a school bus
19:09Okay so we settled on this idea where it was just a mountain landscape and it felt like it fit their story
19:17Is this something that we could do absolutely i love that design that you've got yeah
19:22Definitely doable it'll take a couple days to print and let it sit for about 24 hours and we laminate it
19:27And then we'll be ready to install well sounds great should i email this email is perfect okay

19:43I sent david to my short grass boneyard he's been building the table for the dining area
19:49But didn't have a leg to stand it on

20:15I wanted to create a table that kind of reflected modern country but had a little class to it
20:22There's nothing classier than dovetails a dovetail is a spline that has a wider outside edge
20:31And a thinner inside edge it acts as a clamp milled it in my shop and now i'm going to see how it fits slide this in

20:42Oh that one slides nice so by the time i add glue and the dovetails that is a tight joint and a solid table oh that's going to be nice
20:55We're getting ready to put the tail end of this bus back on the frame to build a deck

32:11the finish line is almost in sight and you know what i think this crazy adventure bus idea just might work
32:21while our bus is getting a new skin david is back at granny flats building the thing that tanner said
32:26is a must for madison a blanket ladder this is gonna be nice the blanket ladder is exactly what
32:32it sounds like it's a tall series of wooden rungs where you can keep all your fuzzy things nice and
32:37organized i found this redwood so we cleaned it up drilled the holes now we're just going to glue this
32:47up and let it set wow that's nice
33:04as the bus gets gussied up on the outside the guys pop by the sign shop to work on the inside laying down
33:10that beautiful carpet that tanner and i so lovingly picked out so thinking about how hard everyone has
33:18worked on this project dustin and ruby and david and rodney and tanner every one of those guys would
33:24give the shirt off their back if you needed it tanner is sort of this boisterous mullet having guy
33:31but he's come out to help us with the bus to help surprise madison he wants to help people what i like
33:38about this bus project is this is an opportunity for sprout and i to give something back to him
33:44to do something special for him and something meaningful for him
33:51the decal work is all wrapped up and the bus is on its way back to rodney's that means it's crunch time
33:57baby the final stretch and to get this done we're swarming the build with all hands on deck

36:32here we go okay and with that done the team can add final touches to the inside including a bed
36:42and plenty of storage space tomorrow morning it's time to show the happy couple their new adventure bus
36:48today is the day we deliver tanner and madison their one-of-a-kind adventure bus
37:05but before sprout and i hand it off to the bride and groom-to-be
37:08i figured we could have a little fun driving it over to their place
37:10well this looks a lot different than it did kiddo yeah sure does i like being a passenger prince
37:18this is lovely do i still have to follow all the rules back here yes all hands and feet inside the
37:25bus at all times not stick your head or limbs out of the weight out all right i think we're almost here
37:31this is a bougie bus real proud of you kiddo thank you i've asked tanner to take madison out for a dirt bike
37:38ride so we have a few minutes to set everything up on the deck
37:44and there i thought that this might be a fun way to hang out with some snacks and some popcorn
37:51and here they come right there okay all right can't wait for him to see it

38:14this looks a little different from when i was working on it oh my gosh this is insane
38:19i had no idea it's absolutely amazing this is fantastic you guys talked about is like every
38:28weekend you guys are doing something oh yeah oh yeah we try to be gone every weekend yep so that was
38:33sort of the scheme that alex came up with it was the adventure bus i love it this wrap is awesome is
38:39that incredible all right i love the trees the biggest thing we wanted to do came from a story you
38:44told me about when you guys travel i did not honestly did not know this edison that he puts the dirt bikes
38:49inside the camper so we started with a 78 passenger bus chopped 14 feet out of the middle and then
38:56slid the back forward then i had tanner help me convert the back of the bus into a 14-foot diamond
39:03plate steel deck designed to carry all of your favorite toys by my count we'll hold eight dirt bikes
39:09yeah check out this deck this was something that we wanted to have a dual use for you so not only was
39:14it designed to haul the rigs on sprout wanted to turn it into a hangout spot so you could still get
39:20up out of the dirt i love it and these stanchions actually come down so during travel they all break
39:25down and stow away yep run down the road what is that that's a screen yep and then there's your
39:32projector no way that'll hook up to your phone yep you're gonna have to teach me how to use that oh yeah
39:37definitely and i might have to sneak up here for a movie night yeah absolutely yeah you guys want to
39:43see the inside yes yeah let's do it come on oh my goodness oh wow oh my gosh
39:55oh my goodness this is this is awesome welcome to the honeymoon suite portion of your adventure bus
40:03we scraped off decades of chewing gum and completely revamped the interior with a queen-size bed
40:09and custom cabinets for storage and food prep and this custom dining table built by david himself
40:16that is pretty you like it oh my gosh so they asked me one thing uh what you would really like
40:23blanket ladder i love it i was hoping that you could take some of the blankets out of the house
40:28and bring them in here no we'll just get more oh look at the rug oh my gosh this is amazing how good is
40:36the seat oh it's very nice oh you just broke one of the bus rules oh i did i forgot i forgot the bus rules
40:49well what do we think this is incredible i absolutely love these seats and how they tie
40:55into everything yeah we had them all reformed and stuffed and upholstered so they're all nice
41:01and fresh because the old ones were in a rougher state rougher state they were in a real rough state
41:08well the fun thing for me like i used to i don't know if you ever knew this i used to live in a bus
41:11uh it did not look like this not even a little bit like this no it was a lot of happiness for me to
41:16work on another bus again so thanks man we love this thing this is awesome cappy and alex did a lot
41:21of work and it really shows oh my gosh it's absolutely amazing thank you guys so much i
41:27absolutely love it the coloration and the soft feel you guys did it's so nice i absolutely love it
