00:53only 13th fastest, Ocon does get himself out of that bottom five, and it's not two Aston Martin,
00:59through to Q2, because Lance Stroll is pushed into that bottom five, Daniel Ricciardo, 11th fastest, as he crosses the
01:07line, and that's disappointment there for Lance Stroll, who for a moment thought he got out of Q1, for the
01:13first time ever, here at Interlagos, but it's not to be.
01:19Sebastian Vettel, who's missed out on Q3, and each of the last six races, is going to miss out again,
01:24he's ahead of Tsunoda, but behind Norris, down in 12.
01:27Perez up to six then for Red Bull, as we see Lando Norris then, has his lap shaping up so
01:34far.
01:35He's got about a tenth of a second in hand, I think, to try and get himself into that top
01:40ten, as he crosses the line, goes seventh fastest, tenth and a half, inside the time that he needed, well

01:47Fernando Alonso at risk now, from this man, Kimi Raikkonen, as Hamilton, with a 1.08.0, goes fastest overall,
01:55four tenths up on Max Verstappen, same four tenths to his teammate, Valtteri Bottas as well.
02:00Raikkonen would love to be in Q3, I'm sure, but it's not going to happen for him, sadly. He's ahead
02:05of only his teammate, Antonio Giovinazzi.
02:08Esteban Ocon by five one hundredths of a second, knocked out in Q2, Sebastian Vettel joins him, as does Yuki
02:15Tsunoda, and the two alphas of Raikkonen and Giovinazzi.
02:20And this is the man that's been setting the pace so far, was fastest in free practice one, Mercedes quickest
02:28in FP1 for the last eight events, was quickest in Q1, and he was fastest in Q2, too.
02:34So can Q3 reap its dividends and give Hamilton the top spot for the sprint tomorrow.
02:40A 17.4 for Hamilton through the first sector, that compares with a 17.7 for Valtteri Bottas, a 17
02:47.5 for Max Verstappen, 17.7s for Gasly and Perez, and also Sainz and Alonso.
02:54Leclerc's time, a 1.09.4, is the time that they're all chasing to get to that top spot.
03:00And Hamilton looking pretty impressive and pretty mighty in every single sector on this track.
03:05Giovinazzi does a 35.0 for the middle sector, Perez does a 34.8, Hamilton does a 34.6.
03:13So continuing to stretch his advantage, Valtteri Bottas matches him, as does Max Verstappen.
03:21Hamilton at full blast now, over 200 miles an hour, he's got a 1.08.8 to aim for, that's
03:26Sergio Perez, he smashes that by 7 tenths of a second.
03:30So has Max Verstappen found any pace himself as Bottas goes a 1.08.4, and Verstappen, crucially for Red
03:37Bull, just a little bit faster to line up on the front row.
03:42Let's take us through this final lap with Verstappen.
03:44Yeah, so he's got Gasly ahead of him at the moment, that's what he has got.
03:48I don't know if he's going to be getting some turbulent air from the back of the Alfa Tari, get
03:54a bit of slipstream, but this is mostly corners in the middle of the lap.
03:56And there's Gasly ahead of us, so he's turn four, crank it in, carried a lot of speed through there.
04:02And his first sector then, is not even his personal best.
04:07It looked a bit of a handful through turn two, didn't it, at the bottom of the hill.
04:11Yeah, he was two and a half tenths down, was Max Verstappen, and Hamilton pretty much matching his best first
04:18sector time.
04:19And this next right-hander, and actually, yeah, is turn eight, where he said the front tyres were giving up
04:27on him.
04:28And again, he had to have a couple of bites getting in there.
04:31It's not really going that well, is it, so far?
04:34Behind him, as he sets a personal best in the middle sector, oh, and then gets all out of shape
04:39as he gets the power down.
04:40Bottas has set a personal best in the first sector.
04:43It's the middle sector that we'll be watching with interest to see if he can get above Max Verstappen.
04:48Hamilton is cruising, it seems, on his way to winning and qualifying here.
04:52Bottas significantly worse than Max Verstappen through that middle sector as Perez goes forth fastest.
04:58Hamilton will cross the line now.
05:00He's not been headed in this qualifying session at all.
05:03He goes faster still, and the crowd absolutely love it.
05:06Hamilton on top in qualifying here at Interlagos.
05:09And Bottas didn't quite make the front row.
05:11That's a relief for Max Verstappen and Red Bull, because the end of his lap was pretty scruffy.
05:16He did a 108.6, did Max, on that final lap, with the few adventures that we saw as well,
05:22for good measure.
05:23And that's a massive relief.
05:24But the two championship contenders side by side again on the front of the sprint.
