00:00And we've got 71 laps ahead of us here at Interlagos.

00:04It's lights out and away we go. They weren't held very long at the start.

00:07Russell gets away very cleanly though and he's already got Lewis Hamilton behind him

00:11with Sergio Perez tying down the inside with Lando Norris as well.

00:14Verstappen stays ahead of Perez. Norris is trying to get in on the act

00:18as Russell leads Hamilton, leads Verstappen to Perez

00:21and then Charles Leclerc, who's lost a couple of places maybe,

00:24trying to get back on terms with Lando Norris.

00:27Into the Decido Relago we go. George Russell, brilliant start from him.

00:31Look how Lando Norris, not feeling 100% today, is having to work hard on these early stages.

00:36And Ferrari, of course, on the medium compound tyres didn't get away so well,

00:39so now they've got the McLaren ahead of them.

00:41They want to be dispatching that as quickly as they can, if indeed they can.

00:45Perfect getaway for both Mercedes and they could take the speed through the first few corners.

00:50Daniel Ricciardo makes contact there with Kevin Magnussen and there's a second contact

00:55and they're both out of the race.

00:58We're going to see it from Ricciardo's point of view.

01:02Yeah, so that's 100% Daniel's fault unfortunately.

01:05And then didn't recognise that the Haas was freewheeling backwards.

01:11There he goes and I'll tell you what, Max Verstappen right on the tail.

01:16There are Lewis Hamilton and Sergio Perez too.

01:18Perez is looking to try and go down the inside and his teammate.

01:21Verstappen goes around the outside of Lewis Hamilton.

01:23Has Verstappen gone ahead by the time they get to the next corner, they touch.

01:26The Mercedes of Hamilton and the Red Bull of Verstappen make contact here in Interlagos.

01:31Verstappen's got big damage to his wing and has Lewis Hamilton got a puncture?

01:35Hamilton's moving all over the place, wasn't he really struggling to keep the car straight?

01:39So that was the kind of thing I was expecting from Max.

01:42I talked about it in the pre-show.

01:44He's definitely had to get his elbows out and they've been severely bruised.

01:50And round the outside goes Charles Leclerc and it's contact two with Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc is off.

01:56And into the barriers and after one safety car we could well get another.

02:01Now this is what happened. Verstappen's ahead going into turn one.

02:04Hamilton now ahead going into there.

02:09A five second time penalty for Max Verstappen for causing a collision.

02:15That's the incident that saw Charles Leclerc disappear off into the barriers.

02:20He must have hit it the right way because so often we see a bit of damage from the wrong angle.

02:27Verstappen comes in then to change that front wing and behind him Leclerc also in the pits.

02:34Lewis Hamilton in the background is being passed.

02:37And Lewis Hamilton then duelling away with Mick Schumacher and we saw just ahead Carlos Sainz making the move on Lando Norris.

02:47Hamilton trying to make events. Pulling out from behind the slipstream with Sebastian Vettel's Aston Martin.

02:52Take it in three laps and he's managed to get his man.

02:57There goes Lewis Hamilton. You notice the pace difference on the previous lap.

03:01Look at that even before he jams the brakes on to head into turn one.

03:05Lewis Hamilton now ahead of Lando Norris.

03:09There goes Sebastian Vettel down the inside on Lando Norris.

03:12Sebastian Vettel has seen that move pulled off a few times in this race and he's done it himself a few times in the past.

03:20And he's now up into the top five.

03:21That is Max Verstappen's pit stop. That's the five second penalty that he was serving of course.

03:32And we're on board now with Valtteri Bottas.

03:36Currently in eighth place. Going wheel to wheel there with Pierre Gasly.

03:40Valtteri Bottas enters the first corner and he's ahead with Sebastian Vettel close attendance behind Pierre Gasly.

03:47We're on board with Lewis Hamilton and Perez trying to defend.

03:53Lewis Hamilton going wheel to wheel with Sergio Perez and to the roar of the crowd emerging out triumphant by the time they get into turn one.

04:02Hamilton up to second. It's once again a Mercedes 1-2.

04:08Lando Norris has come to a standstill in his McLaren.

04:13I've lost tower.

04:15A safety car.

04:17Which is what I thought might happen the minute they couldn't move that car.

04:20Let's have a listen.

04:26Perez will see the Ferrari trying to go down the inside.

04:30Covers him off. Gave him space. Sainz maybe a little tentative. Couldn't quite get to him.

04:33Now they're almost making contact. Through the curve of the sole. Perez ahead and in third place.

04:40Sainz coming at him and there's Charles Leclerc waiting in the background.

04:44And we can see Fernando Alonso trying to make a move on Valtteri Bottas.

04:48And it didn't quite come off but Bottas looking like he was struggling.

04:52We head towards Ferradura. Bottas glad that he's got the inside line here.

04:56But Alonso goes around the outside anyway. And Fernando Alonso up into sixth place.

05:00Oh, look. He's pushing to the maximum. He's almost pushing into the rear wing of the Red Bull.

05:06Carlos Sainz up into the podium places.

05:10DRS really helping here. There's Ocon ahead of him Valtteri Bottas.

05:16Two picked off at the same corner. Nice.

05:18On board with Charles Leclerc this time around. Charles Leclerc is looking to go down the inside.

05:26Perez wanted to cover that off but it was too late. The Ferrari was already on the scene.

05:30And what a rescue job this is for Ferrari. All Perez now trying to fend off Fernando Alonso.

05:37Dive down to the left-hand side. Alonso saw him coming. Wanted to go around the outside.

05:42Knows he's going to get decent traction. Out of the curve of the sole.

05:46And with a bit of DRS down the retro riposte. He's got another chance.

05:50And look at the speed that the Alpines got. Getting past Sergio Perez.

05:54So here he goes. Verstappen. On Sergio Perez. Down the inside. Perez fights it.

06:02With one hand tied behind his back a little bit. He wasn't going to put up too much defence.

06:07And in his first season for Mercedes. George Russell after winning the sprint yesterday.

06:14Wins the Sao Paulo Grand Prix on a Sunday. It's a 1-2 for Mercedes.

06:18It's gorgeous for George. It's absolutely wonderful for the Constructors champions.

06:25George Russell. You are a Formula 1 race winner.

06:29Woo! Come on team! Come on!

06:35Made the step up from Williams to finally become a Mercedes driver in his fourth season in Formula 1.

06:43And he's got a perfect double this weekend. The sprints and the Grand Prix.
