00:00From in the gate, Lux Turner, what an incredible heat race finish that was.
00:04He was second. That betted the week before, last week in Glendale,
00:08when he got a third. I got to speak to him briefly there between the heat
00:12and the main, and he told me, sprints are good. I'm good at the sprints
00:16in the heat races. He said the main's where I kind of struggle a little bit more.
00:20He put his fitness after coming out of injury only about 70-75%.
00:24So incredible performance from Lux, and he said there's more to come.
00:29Here's Max Anstin, the 61. No podium since winning the opener
00:33at Anaheim 1. Can he get it back
00:36tonight in Seattle? And then a shout-out to Hunter Yoder, who has been very strong
00:41this year. Told the story yesterday at Press Day where he thought his career
00:45was over. He was a hot prospect amateur with the old Geico Honda team. They lost
00:49their sponsorship. They shut down, and suddenly he was looking for a ride,
00:52and he thought his time was over. Got three great seasons in
00:57with the PRMX team, backed by Partzilla and Blaster Power. Now the Club MX taking another
01:01step, and pretty aggressive in that heat race, but looking feisty on that number 60.
01:07So hard to do what he's done to claw his way out, basically, of that hole and stick with
01:15it and never give up. You definitely have to respect that.
01:18Yeah, said at one point he was just coaching during the summer to try to make money.
01:21Wasn't even thinking about racing anymore, and now he's been a top 10 runner all year.
01:26But Deegan, of course, the one they're chasing. We'll see if Anstey or Moseman could get it
01:30back together after some great races earlier in the season. Kitchen certainly is one to watch
01:35for these fans of the 47. Can he win the home race again? It's time to find out. Rebs are
01:40up.
01:42Gets down.
01:51And it's one of the star racing Yamaha riders up front. Anstey. First hole shot in a long time
01:57for the 61. And in the Kawasaki riders fighting through. Deegan Kitchen. McAdoo.
02:03Watch this inside right here by Hayden Deegan. He's going to make a clean pass on the 47.
02:10McAdoo running up front. Love to see that.
02:13And this is... Oh!
02:14Oh, man.
02:15Oh, man. Yeah, he got hung up right there on Lux Turner.
02:18And then Deegan able to make a clutch pass on Moseman. He's got Turner there as well.
02:22It bottles up on these tight sections right here after that start, start finish.
02:28Look at those whoops. And Deegan just blows by.
02:31And that's what the difference is. Yes. And what Hayden Deegan is able to do compared to some of
02:38his competitors. Remember, he's right there by the 47 of Levi Kitchen. And look at the distance
02:44and the gap that he has built. Unbelievable. And now all over McAdoo. Yeah, now he's going to race
02:50McAdoo clean. Or he's going to race McAdoo smart right here. He's going to anticipate
02:57some rough riding, I would guess, but no contest.
03:02One rider left on the list. And that's Anstey, who has not led since round two. And then it really
03:08started to come undone. You watch the lines that Hayden takes and the aggression that he has
03:14in the corners, the corner speed, exiting the corners, getting on the throttle,
03:18applying the gas as soon as possible. And then there's Levi.
03:25One little mistake there, a lap one. He's got to make up for it.
03:28That's right. I mean, the goal would have been to stay right on the rear wheel of Hayden Deegan
03:33and have that intensity and make those money moves early.
03:37Making moves is DeFrancisco and Deegan looking to make the pass on Anstey.
03:45Just like that, he's in the lead. Yeah, this guy's on another planet.
03:50Man, ain't even no one close to that. Looks back over at his teammate,
03:54slides the rear end over, cuts down early on the corner. He's made several passes like that.
03:59And again, just watch the aggression coming out of the corners. Super explosive.
04:06Show you the pass for the lead.
04:10Here's how he made the pass, taking a different option through that rhythm lane,
04:15like Jason Thomas was telling us about early in his track report. Look, it slides the rear end.
04:20It's a good drive coming out of the corner. And because he does that, he's able to have more speed
04:26through that rhythm lane, stay lower and drive through there and makes the move.
04:32Kitchen making moves. He's around McAdoo and up to Anstey.
04:35Man, now you can see the aggression in the 47 of Levi Kitchen. Completely different rider than he was early.
04:47Driving through the jumps. Corner speed good. And I think he has a chance right here.
04:53And the crowd's into it. That is the home state native Kitchen.
04:59And he has the fastest lap of the race. Well, now is his choice or chance to make it happen.
05:06Show that potential. Ride up to Hayden Deegan and battle him.
05:11Anstey battling with McAdoo for third. Critical juncture here.
05:21Oh, McAdoo off the track. McAdoo goes off. Doesn't look over when he gets back onto the track.
05:27Oh, cuts right in front of the 34. Oh, that was a good save by Ryder DeFrancisco cutting down.
05:34He tags the back wheel of Cameron McAdoo. I wonder if something's wrong with McAdoo here.
05:40They're going by him quickly. Moseman now challenging him as well.
05:43That was a really good pass by Ryder DeFrancisco to close the door on Cameron McAdoo.
05:51That is a very difficult pass to make and to hold that position.
05:57McAdoo played him safe too at the same time. He raced him strong.
06:01And Deegan stretching it now over Kitchen. McAdoo's back.
06:05Yeah, he's kind of like regathered himself right here.
06:11I love the alternate lines here through the sand section.
06:15Yellow flags flying. These guys got to look ahead.
06:20Not sure why the yellow flag was out. I don't see a down Ryder.
06:25Further back, got a battalion of Yamahas here.
06:29See Moseman 6th, Boland 7th, Yoder 8th, Ross 9th, Turner 10th, all in blue.
06:39The yellow flags were out for Rybell, who's down. Hopefully he's back up.
06:44And McAdoo goes back to work on DeFrancisco. And now they have to roll.
06:50Looks like he's up though. Yeah, Rybell is up.
06:53But they cannot jump that big double. That's right.
06:56Yeah, and he's in between the jump there.
06:59Great call. Good heads up riding from the riders, recognizing the red cross flag.
07:06Hey, it was 2.4 when Kitchen got the second. It went to 3.4.
07:10I had to do feet coming out of the pegs here. This is a gnarly section.
07:14Seeing these guys go through here all day long, how difficult it was, has been.
07:21This is where the track is really starting to go away.
07:24Rutt's becoming a factor, especially in the rhythm lanes.
07:29They're almost gnarlier through the rhythm lanes than they are in the corners.
07:36And the mechanic cheering, DeFrancisco on from fourth.
07:40Trying to get him to hold off McAdoo.
07:43Kitchen is now matching Deegan. He got it back to 2.4.
07:46And they're about even up. Last couple laps, JT.
07:50Well, there's a section that just after the whoops that Kitchen finally started doing.
07:55It's a triple on to the tabletop section. This section you see McAdoo in right there.
07:58They're going two in the table to single. They're two riders up front.
08:02When Kitchen just switched to it, they're tripling onto that tabletop.
08:06That is how he's been able to close the gap down. He was faster everywhere else on the racetrack.
08:11But that section alone was costing him at least a full second.
08:14Well, look. It's worked, JT. He is right there now on Deegan.
08:17Here we go. This is going to get good right here.
08:22He, the 47, has got a line on him now.
08:29To roll the double because Rod Bell's bike is there.
08:31I saw Rod Bell was able to get off the track himself under his own power.
08:34And it is back on for the lead. There's the triple on to the table.
08:38These, these lappers definitely going to play a part here.
08:41But man, what I really want to see from Levi Kitchen right now is to dig deep.
08:46Go in there. Give it your best. Your all-time best right here.
08:52Deegan's looking back. Challenge the man.
08:54Send it to Will.
08:56And that's what Levi told me. He wanted this scenario, Ricky and Jason.
09:01He said, I don't want to do it by finally getting a good start.
09:04But Hayden gets a bad side. He said, I want him to get a good start.
09:06I'm going to get a good start, too. He's aiming for top five.
09:09And I want to be able to race him. And the hometown hero is getting the chance to do that
09:13right now.
09:14Yeah, he's got him. Levi is all over him right here. He is the faster rider on the track.
09:20There it is. Halfway through. Reminder, a monster energy drink. You can stock up at Amazon.
09:27But if you're going to go shopping, make sure you keep the window open. Watch this. Pass to the lead.
09:32Kitchen. Listen to this stadium.
09:42Oh, no. I thought he's going over the bars.
09:45He almost took a trip. That was for sure. That was a really nice save by Levi Kitchen.
09:51Going to be interesting to see if Hayden Deegan can react. He's losing some ground right here.
09:57He could feel the pressure from the 47 coming. Checked up. I don't know. Maybe he pulls over.
10:03Let's him go by. And now the pressure is on the 47 of Levi Kitchen.
10:09Roll reversal, JT. Yeah, Hayden is so mentally tough in these situations. You could almost see him
10:17take a reset there and come back after Kitchen. I believe he thinks he has more in the tank than
10:23Kitchen. So as long as he stays in touch, I think he's happy here to go deep into this main
10:28event and see
10:29how it shakes out. Yeah, Levi's got this rhythm lane absolutely dialed.
10:37It's going to be key for Hayden to stay as close as possible to Levi Kitchen here if he wants
10:44to contest.
10:48Man, Levi is just on, yeah, he's just on another zone right here. After those first five laps,
10:55man, he just started clicking off. Sector 7 right there on the left-hand side of your screen.
11:00That's where Kitchens just put two tenths per lap over Hayden Deegan.
11:06Oh, watch out for the lap traffic. Oh, yeah, that's going to slow Levi down, not being able to triple.
11:16Hayden's able to just gain a little ground right there, going to the outside, but I think that
11:21Levi right here is much faster. This is where that sector is, I believe, going to the inside of the
11:28sand. He makes up so much time.
11:33He's got Hayden on the ropes right here, man. If he could bridge that gap, I think Levi's off to
11:39the races, and this is that breaking point right here where Levi says he's just got to have that grit,
11:46keep doing what he's doing, and see if he can break Hayden for the win.
11:51And that's asking a lot because we started this show saying Deegan is for certain an all-timer in
11:57the 250 class. That is the challenge for everyone out here to beat one of the best to ever do
12:01it on
12:02this size bike, and right now Kitchen is answering the call.
12:06Yeah.
12:08See, this is where I was talking about Levi's has the advantage right here. He's just greased in this
12:13section, but he doesn't go triple.
12:15Uh-oh. And Deegan just cut that gap in half, and there's two lap riders.
12:20Oh, man, these guys need to get out of the way.
12:27And Deegan's seen that line there a couple times. Can he switch?
12:30He does. He just, I mean, listen, he just obviously feels like he, he feels more comfortable taking,
12:35taking the line that he does. Oh, here it comes.
12:39Uh, he's playing games with him now, maybe trying to rattle his cage a little bit.
12:44That wasn't a very good move for Hayden to do that, especially if he knew that he wasn't going
12:49to be able to make the pass. But like I said, maybe he's trying to shake him up a little
12:53bit,
12:53get him off sequence. Look, he isn't able to triple. Here you go.
12:56Now open the door. Deegan up the inside. Oh, Deegan a mistake.
13:03Triple down to that table. Here's that big rhythm. Let's see if Kitchen can get it back.
13:08Two, three.
13:09Yeah, he does.
13:10Three.
13:12Oh, almost. Tags that lapper. But then look at Levi,
13:17gathered himself up. Wasn't affected by the move that Hayden did.
13:23Has he got to get back onto that tabletop though?
13:25Yeah, he's got to get back onto that tabletop and we'll find it.
13:28I like the rebound that Levi did. Very strong.
13:35This is such a battle in so many ways, not just what you're seeing on the track.
13:39There's been so much between these two on the track, off the track, social media awards.
13:44Here's the triple jump. Here we go. Still not getting onto it. Deegan does.
13:50Battle at the bottom. It's Moseman and McAdoo for fifth.
13:55DeFrancisco is all on and forth. Deegan is right there again.
13:58Yeah, he's pulled up alongside of him. But man, it's like, oh, here we go.
14:05Yeah, if you're Hayden, if you want to make the pass, he's got to make it.
14:08Oh, he didn't triple.
14:12Deegan a 3-3. He's got the inside. Got the lead.
14:16Really good pass. He slows up in the corner.
14:24I mean, it's going to be tough for Deegan to straight up go out and just pull away from Levi
14:29because Levi is slowing down and blocking.
14:34Watch. Watch Levi on the inside of the whoops right here.
14:38Oh, I thought he was going to be able to get a good groove.
14:42Oh, Deegan almost down. Caught the front wheel. And Deegan.
14:47Kits it back underneath. Takes the lead again.
14:55Oh, but he didn't get that rhythm. Here comes Deegan.
14:59Watch the turn down.
15:02Whoa.
15:04Unbelievable.
15:05This is some fantastic racing. We saw the same thing here last year.
15:10With Beaumare and Hayden Deegan going back and forth.
15:15And time is running out.
15:18Man, if you're Levi, you have to anticipate every move that Hayden is going to make.
15:25He's going to cut back underneath him.
15:28Side by side.
15:30Deegan has the lead again.
15:32Third line. He checks up in the whoops.
15:35Not going to let Levi get past him to make sure that he's just right there.
15:41He's going to quarter him up most of the time.
15:43And now, if you're Hayden, this is where you've got to sprint.
15:46You've got to try to gap him right here.
15:48Levi's got to get this rhythm on the inside. He's got to get it.
15:52Double.
15:53He gets it.
15:55Oh, barely.
15:58Now, what about this one?
15:59Yeah, I mean, he's got to get every single rhythm lane.
16:02This next lap is going to be so crucial.
16:07Hayden trying to roll out.
16:09Probably two to go here.
16:10Yeah, Levi needs to keep the pressure on.
16:13You can't let that gap grow any bigger.
16:15Because if he does, he gives Hayden just the amount of breathing room that he needs.
16:23He's right there.
16:30There you go.
16:31And he got the triple onto the table, Deegan.
16:36He's feeling it now.
16:37Yeah.
16:39Right here now.
16:41This is where Hayden.
16:44Oh, Hayden's not able to do the rhythm lane right here.
16:47And he looks back.
16:49Yep.
16:50What happened was that Lapper was taking Hayden's line.
16:54Look at Levi reels him back in.
17:00White flag.
17:03Club of X teammates battling for seven to that bottom box.
17:08Moseman, six.
17:09Yoder, seventh.
17:10Bolin, eighth.
17:11Time running out for Kinchin.
17:14Yeah, they're going to have to turn it loose right here.
17:16Hayden's going to have to get an unbelievable run through the Wolves.
17:19Kinchin did turn it loose.
17:21Here he comes.
17:22There he goes.
17:22He's going for it.
17:23One last push.
17:25Triples on, triples off.
17:26It's this rhythm lane that JT was talking about.
17:29Is Hayden going to be able to execute his lane perfectly?
17:34He's got a Lapper in front of him.
17:36He does.
17:39Cleared it.
17:41And around the lap rider.
17:42One rhythm to go.
17:43Kinchin is sending it behind him.
17:48One turn left.
17:49Deegan blocks the inside.
17:51Hayden Deegan wins the battle of Seattle.
18:02Wow.
18:03There you go.
18:05Yeah, he's got respect for him.
18:07It might not seem like it the way that, uh, the way that he raises him, but the handshake right
18:12there.
18:14Look at this.
18:16Wow.
18:19Man.
18:21Almost.
18:22That was an unbelievable.
18:23Like 20 years.
18:24That was a really, really fun race.
18:26Great riding.
18:28I would say, I mean, mostly clean.
18:31And, uh, man, that was a lot of fun to watch.
18:34Just back and forth.
18:35Back and forth.
18:36And, and, hey, Levi raced him hard.
18:39He did everything that he needed to do.
18:42It's just those last two and a half laps.
18:44Hayden was able to get
18:46probably five bike lengths more than what Levi probably should have given him.
18:50And he just couldn't get there.
