00:00work season for this young young man well uh i heard none other than you and ryan villopodo a
00:04four-time champ of the series on your title 24 show this week you said yeah he's he's right that
00:10you didn't have an ego in it you're putting him up there with the all-timers 100 i mean i
00:14again
00:14whether it's people who's broken my you know my records that eli tomac loves seeing him he's the
00:20king of daytona now and i love watching history be made in record and these guys climbing up in
00:27their record books i mean you're we're watching greatness and that's something that we can look
00:31back and whether you like them or just or or dislike them something you can look back on
00:36say man we watched that kid do this it's special and everybody has goals here aiden shive goals to
00:42make mains he's made four this year he only has seven for his career so he's actually more than
00:47doubled his career main event total just this year alone he won last week's last chance qualifier so
00:53shout out to the 137 who uh was not shy about telling us how ill he was uh last week
01:00when he
01:01won that last chance qualifier hopefully he feels better this time and he had a good lap time in
01:06qualifying earlier in the b group so you see he actually has the third gate pick uh for this heat
01:13race maybe the track is a little smoother for those guys early in the morning but they're gonna get a
01:18chance on the same track right now i'd tell you about the third lap of that first heat race the
01:22track
01:23was prime now the ruts are going to be a bit deeper and definitely more ruts for sure here we
01:29go
01:30this is at heat number two for the 250s deegan bozeman and the rest here we go
01:39and deegan continues to have the stars dialed
01:48and you've got lux turner making the move for second on hunter yoder but deegan pulling away
01:56lux turner been running up front here quite a bit this season it's great to see him doing well
02:01and this is thinking this is confidence probably growing and growing knowing that he can come out
02:07here in these heat races and run up front early on and you learn so much so valuable to the
02:14process
02:17yoder is going to try to make the move on turner here in the woods
02:21he was there man going for it i mean absolutely sending it he was able to get on the binders
02:28quick
02:28though and not make collision with lux and now a little mistake yoder so turner pulls away i talked
02:36to turner earlier this weekend he said yeah last lap or two of the heat started tightening up a bit
02:41he said the problem was he started slowing down because he had a big lead and then it all starts
02:45to fall apart said he's going to learn from that and most of it's making moves here
02:50oh look at that was a really good corner that yoder did be able to turn down early pivot the
02:57bike
02:58i like this tight section now they come over the finish line guys going to the inside outside his
03:05majority inside line was the favorite earlier today so the smx track crew massaging that section to
03:13develop two lines so most been on the monster yamaha star racing machine around the club max yamaha of yoder
03:21here's deegan pulling away send it to will thanks jason a little bit due to that incredible start yet
03:29another one but we don't actually have to go back too far only to the beginning of this season to
03:33see
03:34inconsistent starts for hayden deegan so what's the difference between you guys have been talking
03:39about him needing to put the pieces together well brian deegan hayden's dad told me that they were trying
03:44literally everything lots of different techniques they were watching film of good starters to try and find
03:50something that worked for him and he pointed out how unique starting techniques are for different
03:55riders well the beginning of the year they used some taller blocks but brian described that as somewhat
04:00of a band-aid to get him through until they figured it out and then a few weeks ago they
04:04got to a
04:05technique that they said he settled into very quickly it was kind of like a light bulb moment that went
04:10up
04:10and ever since then they have been incredibly consistent yeah he certainly has and you just think about
04:17uh the areas where he needed to improve uh oh we got some arguing on the race track point and
04:24they
04:24just need to pick their bikes up and get on with the show they're losing valuable time
04:30the uh b-ray brandon ray on the 388 and then the 260 oh we actually have this oh here
04:39we go
04:42there there textbook takeout move
04:47nico kosh the rider out of germany ray's not having it
04:53i i can understand ray's uh frustration right there but you know these types of move are pulled
05:00like that in the heat races when you're around that when you're flirting with that transfer position and
05:06you know like kosh the biggest thing is where he made a mistake is if you're going to make a
05:10move
05:10like that rule number one you don't take yourself out while doing it so uh because at the very least
05:17you're going to get yelled at while you're standing there oh look at this battle right here most of it
05:20with lux turner turner on the toyota redlands bar x yamaha turner came into the year where the wrist
05:28injury was dominating australia's supercross championship they got injured lost that title
05:35whoa and mozeman they tagged and mozeman's going to lose a spot to yoder yoder might get both and
05:41saw that coming from a mile away i think mozeman wasn't anticipating lux to cut across the run like
05:48that but that's an easy race move yoder did get at them both now he does right up the inside
05:53but lux
05:54is on the inside he's going to make the move past yoder oh yoder's right racing him hard look at
06:01mozeman though double pass of mozeman shoot this looks like a daytona 500 tomorrow they're three wide
06:08side by side in the big corners it's been great racing another attempt by mozeman
06:15not it up and here's another shot from the 23 it's being nice about it though yeah he certainly was
06:24he could have uh he could have made contact with the yoder there but not his style plays it smart
06:31knows that he has the speed to beat yoder if i'm going to wait for this uh this pass to
06:36develop
06:36naturally a little further back here maybe yeah this could be in the whoops
06:43looks like he got it great great pass right here just able to carry a little more speed
06:48into the whoops yoder not backing down though
06:53this bottom box rc is the battle for the final transfer
06:57lights out logan leitzel on the green kawasaki he is in that final spot flora is trying to catch him
07:04i saw you what you did there lights out logan light yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah i got some tips
07:09and some friends on i can't credit credit myself with all this hunter schlosser is right in front of him
07:15time running out see if lights open hold on uh looking at timing and scoring just go back to uh
07:22what levi kitchen was able to basically turn to 49.9 i believe and uh hey deegan has 50.3
07:29now part of that
07:30uh is because of the track conditions like we touched on before these guys before the gate dropped
07:36so uh to be expected the track to naturally slow down because of these ruts like you guys are seeing
07:41here oh yoder whoa oh wow they are wow yoder into mozeman he had caught back up and then well
07:52we
07:52mentioned how gentlemanly they had been racing now how many positions will they lose
07:58yeah it's a little frustrating i bet for michael mozeman and for yoder himself i think yoder could
08:04probably played it a little bit cooler there maybe not make contact just for one position
08:13wow i did not expect that i thought that battle had settled down a bit yeah honestly i wasn't either
08:19and here you go just great camera work goes up the inside crosses over all the ruts makes collision
08:27front front front wheel of mozeman getting caught up into yoder's what was that the foot peg there
08:33then they go down just they uh hey yoder was catching back up i mean i guess he's going for
08:41it he was
08:42he was definitely catching back up but would you say it was yeah it wasn't the best decision okay
08:50uh this is a good decision get the whole shot and go heat race win hayden deegan in seattle heat
08:57race
08:57number two yeah not that type of that not that type of move for the position they were in yeah
09:04they
09:05were making it to the main event and it was only for you know one gate position not going to
09:09make a
09:10crucial change and what that would look like about this guy though man fantastic the last few weeks
09:17yeah been putting in solid rides in these heat races and the main as well and what i noticed about
09:22that because that finish is how he was able to run up front for longer than what he's been able
09:28to do
09:28that's right talk about luxe turner they're finishing second ahead of mumford yoder
09:32recovers for fourth most in sixth threes in between we'll hear from hayden deegan after the break
