00:00Hey Suns fans, let's talk about a familiar face, Chris Paul, you remember him right?
00:06He ran the point for us from 2020 to 2023, and led our squad to the 2021 NBA Finals,
00:12well, this Friday, CP3 officially announced his retirement after being waived by the Toronto
00:18Raptors. Now, here's the timeline, at 40 years old, Paul was playing his 21st NBA season with
00:24the LA Clippers, back in November, he strongly hinted that this would be his last ride,
00:29then in December the Clippers sent him home, and by February, his contract was part of a three-team
00:35deadline deal that also involved the Brooklyn Nets, sending him to the Raptors, Toronto waived him,
00:41and that's when he decided to hang it up. Paul leaves behind an insane resume, 12-time All-Star,
00:48two-time Olympic gold medalist, four-time All-NBA first-team selections, he ranks second all-time
00:55in assists with 12,552, and he's the first player ever to notch 20,000 points and 10,000 assists.
01:03For Clippers fans, he's arguably the most accomplished player in their history,
01:08leading them to six winning seasons from 2011 to 2017, including their first two Pacific Division
01:14titles and three playoff series wins. He even returned to LA as a free agent last July,
01:20hoping to chase a ring alongside Kawhi Leonard and James Harden, but this season was tough.
01:25Paul averaged career lows, just 2.6 points and 3.3 assists in 14.3 minutes per game.
01:32He sat out five straight games in mid-November. His final game with the Clippers came against the
01:38Heat, where he put up eight points and three assists in 15 minutes, a game where Harden and
01:44other starters were effectively benched, showing the discord in Teron Lu's team.
01:48The Clippers are now on a five-game skid, tied for the second-worst record in the West.
01:53Kawhi has played only 10 games, and Bradley Beal is out for the season after hip surgery.
01:58Their streak of 14 straight winning seasons, the longest active in the NBA, is in jeopardy.
02:04Despite the struggles, the Clippers showed love. Last week at Intuit Dome,
02:08they played a video tribute during a timeout, ending with,
02:12Congratulations, point God, on the screen.
02:14Paul hasn't spoken to reporters since his retirement hint back in North Carolina,
02:18but that moment said it all. So, Suns Nation, what's your favorite memory of Chris Paul in a
02:23Phoenix uniform? Was it that 2021 Finals run? Or maybe those clutch mid-range jumpers?
