00:00All right. Now let's get into the remainder of the catchers. So George will pick one from this
00:04list that he would like just as much. Will Smith, Augustine Ramirez of Miami, Yanir Diaz of Houston
00:10back in the top 10 again, Ivan Herrera of St. Louis, Adley Rutschman, Alejandro Kirk, and then
00:16Kyle Teal behind the plate. Naturally, when you get to a guy like Teal at this point, you're the
00:22last one to take a catcher pretty much in your starter if you've done that. But that's not to
00:26say that he can't produce. George Rutschman is an interesting one here. I mean, this was somebody
00:30that we were told was going to be a superstar. I feel like we've done this now with back-to
00:35-back
00:35young catchers on Baltimore that they've taken. They've taken Matt Wieters. Remember when they
00:40took him super high and everyone thought he was the second coming? Then they took Adley Rutschman.
00:45I guess the good news is they have Sam Basalo, who's supposed to be fantastic too, but can't
00:49whiff on three like that, can you? That's a catcher's a hard position. It's just a hard
00:54position because you have to be a catcher first, right? It's always defense first with
00:58catchers. Got to handle that pitching staff and get to know that, and then you can go
01:02worry about your offense here. You just name the player that I'm probably going to have.
01:06As far as the catcher I expect to have the most in a lot of leagues, it's going to be
01:09Richman because I think he's going to fall down, and I'm going to be very happy to take
01:13him as that 10th catcher. I'll take him. No problem. Well, I'll bank on some upside here.
01:16I can live with that if he doesn't. Those numbers last year are bad. The team is better
01:20overall this year. I like what they've done in the offseason. I'm going to like him.
01:23I don't mind Basala either, by the way. He may not catch a lot, but he's going to play
01:26some first. He's going to play some days, and that guy's got massive power. I'm not
01:29talking Cal Raleigh power, not yet anyway, but he's got the power, and he's going to
01:33play there. My favorite guy on the list is just the number eight guy. I'll take Will
01:37Smith in every league if I can. Consistent. I know what he's going to do. He may not put
01:41numbers that are overboard, but they're consistent numbers. 20-plus home runs, going to drive
01:45in 75, 80. Good, decent errors. Not going to hurt me. I'll take that and run. Love Ramirez too.
01:50I said, this is probably the most I've been excited about catcher in 10, 15 years. I
01:54even like Kyle Teal, by the way, playing in that band box that maybe he'll be able to
01:58get the upside. There are a couple other catchers we haven't even mentioned that are on this
02:01list. JT Valmuto, we haven't talked about.
02:04We'll get there, George. We'll get there, George. Be patient. You're getting ahead of
02:09the show here. You're getting ahead of the show. I mean, we can do it now, Sam, if you
02:13want. We're saving the next year. We're saving the next year for the two minutes, so let
02:18me go back to a couple of names. Alejandro Kirk of Toronto, George. Another player that
02:24you see, you know, I sort of am coming around to the idea. I'm probably not as bullish on
02:28you that we can get any of these 14, but Kirk is a hitter. And also, Augustin Ramirez at
02:35catcher, you know, certainly they have a young catcher also coming on the way too. And Joe
02:39Mack in Miami too, former first round pick who I think is going to play quite a bit. But
02:43I get what you're saying. There's playing time to be had. And I think of the first 12,
02:5013 that we've discussed, there aren't really fantastic partners to begin the season with
02:55these guys, which tell me that you're going to get a lot of those counting numbers.
02:59And listen, as a catcher, that's pretty much what I want. The reason I don't take a catcher
03:03early is they get hit with foul balls, bats, they get the crouch a thousand times, they sit
03:08on every Sunday, it seems like. So they're not going to play as much as a, you know, an outfielder
03:12or an outfielder, whatever. So that's why I don't end up trading up for the, or I don't
03:16draft up for these guys. Rowley, by the way, is different. He played a gazillion game because
03:19they'll, he's such a good hitter. They'll DH him when he doesn't play. That also makes
03:23him more valuable than your normal catcher. As much as I love Will Smith, he was sitting
03:27once every three games last year. It was, you know, for a while that was driving me crazy
03:30because they, they want to rest them up. They want to keep melting. And I understand
03:33that. But I like, I like Smith. I see, you know, Miami better than, I would think all
03:38of us there. So you bring up that Ramirez could have a challenge eventually.
03:42With Mack, that that's interesting because I like Ramirez a lot. I don't know if I like
03:46him defensively, but I don't care what he does defensively. Just hit the ball and he can hit
03:49the ball.
