00:00The palace countered recent remarks asserting that the Filipino youth should be considered the country's hope, not weak.
00:07Palace press officer Claire Castro issued the statement following Senator Robin Padilla's comments
00:13labeling today's youth as mentally weak and downplaying depression, which she attributed to excessive social media exposure.
00:21Castro added that we shouldn't say that today's youth are weak because the youth are the hope of the nation,
00:27invoking the famous quote from national hero Dr. Jose Rizal.
00:31She also stressed the commitment of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and his administration in implementing programs
00:38aimed at improving the welfare of the youth, particularly in education and health.
