00:00We're getting ready for the Chanel show. I'm just very nervous, actually. Yeah, I do. Yeah,
00:19I have my daughters coming with me and but I'm very excited for Mathieu because this is a big
00:26moment for him and so to be able to celebrate him with his first show with Chanel and the beginning
00:32of an incredible journey together. It's exciting, right? Nicole is wearing two pieces from Mathieu's
00:42new collection that you will see walk. She's wearing one of these quintessential classic
00:48button-downs that I feel like is very the house of Chanel and then the coolness, the edge, and the
00:55sophistication of the most beautiful pair of cashmere jeans. Very chic and simple,
01:02understated in a way, but luxe. I mean literally I'll be wearing cashmere jeans.
01:07I would never even have imagined cashmere jeans, so there we go. It is Mathieu at his best. He's an
01:19artist. He thinks about the fabrication, the textiles, the art behind it is really, really special and
01:26important. Before the fitting that I had with Nicole, I was really lucky. I got to Paris a couple of days
01:30early. I got to go into the atelier and just kind of give some direction and ideas that I would love
01:38to see. The collaboration with the Chanel team was really special and important. And then we did a
01:43fitting just last night. Nicole came in. She was ready. I showed her exactly what I fell in love with.
01:49She put it on and she went straight to the Chanel woman. And it was perfect. We laughed. She wanted to
01:58try everything. She couldn't stop trying things on. But we landed at this magical moment.
02:10I don't know how many years ago it was, but when Carl and I worked together at Chanel and then Baz and I
02:17did the Chanel No. 5 film together, the dress that they made for me and that Baz and CM wanted. And it
02:24was just like a wisp of a dress. It was pale pink and it was so beautiful and it floated and it was
02:31nothing but everything, if that makes sense. And I think that's what the whimsy of it is, what was so beautiful.
02:40With doing hair, you want to be able to be able to dream and to kind of bring
02:44all of these inspirations and to kind of like play. And she loves to play.
02:48We ended up cutting her bangs today right before the show, which is super exciting because it's a
02:55new silhouette really for the hair. It's really about having the hair kind of feel broken and undone,
03:02but yet still feel expensive and have all of that great richness, but without being overly fussy about
03:10it really ultimately. And the way that I do this specific hair, it's actually a very cool technique where
03:16I just take my fingers, I wrap the hair around my fingers, I scrunch it and then I use a diffuser
03:23and then I let it go. And it kind of just creates these beautiful uneven bends. Practical Magic has been
03:30where those bangs really were. And so this is like a combination of that mixed like with a little bit
03:37more Jane Birkin, like a little bit more French girl easiness. I think Mathieu like totally
03:42inspired me when I saw the collection and the easiness of what she was wearing immediately
03:48in my brain. I was like, Oh, okay. I think this will be amazing. And so I kind of just presented
03:55it to Nicole and she that's, that's how amazing Nicole is. Nicole is like, Oh, you love that? Let's do it.
04:00You can see through the year. She's allowed people to be artists when they work with her. And that's
04:11the special thing for me and that relationship. She allows me to celebrate her in a way and her
04:18favorite line, what I love, and this is when I fell in love with Nicole, she always goes, who do you want
04:23me to be today? So in each fitting, as I go to prepare, I'm thinking she's going to ask me that
04:29question. And my response is, you know, whatever the moment, the mood, the decision that I've made,
04:36it's, it's been really great. She's super collaborative, but she's also very trustworthy
04:41when she, when it comes to artists.
04:42They asked me to become the global ambassador for Chanel again. It feels like coming home,
04:54which is an amazing, amazing feeling. I think Mathieu brings his, his essence to the house. So
05:01I'm so excited to be on a journey with him in this way and to be able to announce it to Vogue.
05:08Oh, pardon, pardon, pardon. But just that's why I'm very much here just in support of him
05:15and kind of in awe of his talent. And I love fashion and I love couture and I love
05:22what he's going to do, what he is doing. And I'm just very, very grateful to be asked to be here.
05:27Well, we're heading out the door. So, okay. Bye. Bye.
05:43Clothes are very intimate and it's, it can be very sacred moments. And you are very vulnerable in
05:50those moments. It becomes like this world and this lifestyle that, you know, you get to create with
05:55someone like Nicole.
