00:00was there any, you know, really memorable time that you can think of as you were just getting
00:04started new business abroad that was your true low point? Absolutely. The labor laws. I mean,
00:12I'm not from Costa Rica. I'm from Philadelphia. And so I realized that, you know, I popped my
00:17first account, landed a few more quickly, and then realized when I had a half a dozen agents,
00:22I was over my head because I was doing accounting, HR, you know, the contracts and marketing.
00:27And so my wife, Grace Bourbon, who was a top saleswoman for jewelry at the airport for Cafe
00:33Britt, she decided after three years of working for that company to resign and to work with me as
00:39the director of human resources and our legal representative to the Costa Rican government.
00:44So I realized I was way over my head and I needed some assistance. And also, since I am a
00:50guest in
00:51this country, I think it would be to my benefit to have somebody from this country being able to
00:56speak for our company, not more properly, but once again, representing the common interests of the
01:02culture that they grew up in. And so for me, I was mainly focused on developing their English skills
01:09and making sure they were properly prepared when onboarding and doing a lot of quality control.
01:15So I can coach and study their calls, increase their vocabulary so they're more diplomatic and
01:21strategic and try to reduce as much attrition as possible by having a gamification play culture
01:27so people can make friends and recharge the batteries.
01:31Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Here you are.
