President Donald Trump praised the new India–U.S. trade agreement as “historic,” announcing that America will sharply expand coal exports to India and other partner nations. Speaking at the “Champion of Coal” event, he said recent deals with Japan, Korea, and India are transforming the United States into a major global energy exporter and reviving domestic mining communities.

Trump described American coal as “the finest anywhere in the world” and said the administration is securing long-term overseas markets for U.S. energy. He framed the export push as proof of economic strength and job creation, arguing that stronger trade ties with India will benefit both nations while reinforcing America’s leadership in global energy supply.

00:00And under our leadership, we're becoming a massive energy exporter.
00:03In just the past few months, we've made historic trade deals with Japan,
00:08Korea, India, and others to increase our coal exports dramatically.
00:12Have a new group of people that we're very close to, become very close to.
00:16And that's called Venezuela, where we're taking in, in this case, oil.
00:22We had 50 million barrels of oil that we have floating right now to Houston to be refined.
00:28And we're getting energy from all different sources.
00:31And so, oil and gas is fantastic.
00:34So many of them are so good, but we're not going to use the bad ones.
00:37America is now the number one energy producer in the world.
00:42We are, by far, number one.
00:43In fact, we're going to very — we're very soon going to be number one by double what number two
00:49is.
00:49And under our leadership, we're becoming a massive energy exporter.
00:53In just the past few months, we've made historic trade deals with Japan.
00:58Korea, India, and others to increase our coal exports dramatically.
01:02We're now exporting coal to all over the world.
01:06And the quality of our coal is supposed to be — I mean, I'm not an expert on coal,
01:10but I've been very good to the people that are — the quality of our coal is supposed to be
01:15the finest anywhere in the world.
01:17From West Virginia to Wyoming, from Ohio to Montana, and all across the country,
01:22we're lifting up our hardworking American miners like nobody has ever done before.
01:28We're bringing down costs of American consumers.
01:31And together, we're making the most of the magnificent land that God gave us
01:36to rebuild the greatest economy and the greatest nation in the history of the world.
01:41Another one of my favorite words is the word tariff.
01:44You know, tariff is very — I know they want to hear that little story.
01:48I used to say it's my favorite word. They said, what about God? What about religion? What about
01:53family and your wife, your children? So now I make it my fifth favorite word.
02:00Oh, you have no idea. I suffered.
02:03I was — Kayla, I was suffering from the fake news media. They were — they were really — they
02:07were going after me when I said it was my favorite word. So I make it number five,
02:11and I think I'm generally speaking okay. They'd like it to be a little bit later than that.
02:15But because of tariffs, you saw that we just — it was just announced. Our trade deficit has gone down.
02:23Now, if you go down one point — two points, you're like a genius — it's gone down 78 percent.
02:3078 percent. Can you believe it? And we have to fight.
02:37Right, Speaker? And we have to fight. It just came out.
02:40Everyone's saying, that can't be right. 78 percent — 78 percent reduction in our trade deficit.
02:47And next year, we're going to be positive if we keep it all going. We're waiting for a very
02:52important decision from the Supreme Court. But I want to thank the speakers here because you have
02:57fought with me. You've got — you got it very early. Now, almost everybody's getting it. But it's
03:03the numbers that we've never seen yet.
