00:00There were mistakes made here in the very beginning, and those mistakes typically happen
00:05when law enforcement, instead of doing investigations, wants to play with the media, everybody wants
00:11to be a TV star and get up there in press conference, and you have nothing to say at
00:15the press conference. It was a joke. What are you doing? You know, you tell the media, listen,
00:21we're doing an investigation. When we find out something that's going on, we'll let you know.
00:27But no, everybody wants to be a TV star today, and that's problematic. I'm not happy how it's
00:33turning out, and I think every day that goes by, it becomes a problem for that family, because you
00:39can have all the hope in the world, but it starts to diminish as days go along. If you know anything
00:47about kidnapping, the situation is this. There would have been negotiations done probably within 24
00:53hours of the kidnapping to start negotiating for what you can afford to pay, how you're going to
01:00pay it, how are you going to keep the law enforcement out of it, although you always have a backdoor
01:06situation to law enforcement for protection. But at least law enforcement will work with the family
01:11to try to give the feeling that they're willing to pay, and will pay if the person's alive.
01:19This is becoming problematic, and I honestly feel, and I've worked these cases in the past,
01:26that as the days go by, it's not going to be a good outcome. It had to have been pre-planned,
01:32in my opinion. The person is well camouflaged, well dressed, with a backpack, head coverage.
01:38You know, you can see the eyes a little bit, you can study. The other situation is that it's a very
01:42rural area. This wasn't, I'm picking that house. They went to that house because they knew what was
01:48in that house. They knew the setup, and it was picked for a purpose. It's going to have to be a
01:54strong criminal investigation to try to figure out who's behind all this. But I think the situation
01:59is getting very slim that you're going to find this 82-year-old woman alive under the set of
02:05circumstances have been laid out there. If I'm the kidnapper, yeah, you've got to disable the
02:10cameras, but you know this footage has already been taken. It does go to the cloud. And more
02:14importantly, if you come into my property, not only is the ring cameras working, but I'm going to get
02:19an alarm in my house that tells me that somebody's on my property. So the situation is, you have to
02:25know how many people are in that house if you're the kidnapper. Are you prepared for one person,
02:30old lady being 82 years old, being by herself? Or do you suspect there's other people in that house?
02:36Do they have weapons? You're just going to go up to the ring camera and pull it off the wall,
02:40making that kind of noise, not knowing who's on the other side of that door? Something's not right
02:46with this case. And that's why I suspect that you have to look at the possibility that there's a crime
02:52involved here. That it was not a kidnapping, but it was a crime that went wrong. But typically when
02:59crimes go wrong, the victim is in the house. They're either dead or they're wounded. And there
03:05was a robbery, something would happen. But typically the body doesn't disappear. I've been an investigator
03:11for over 40 years. I worked with CBS 48 hours. I've done cases internationally in South America,
03:19throughout Europe. So I've been involved with some of these, you know, and I know how difficult it is
03:24for the family. And I also know that anytime you get into these types of situations, there's always
03:30the possibility that it's not going to come out good. But if you do it right, and law enforcement
03:37works with you to get it done right, there's always the possibility that you can get that person back
03:44alive and safe and back with their family. And I pray, I pray that that's the case. I pray that I'm so
03:49wrong and that this woman comes back to be with a family. But we cannot allow this to continue the
03:56way it's going. They've got to get the tight ship. And now with the photos, maybe we can get something
04:00going and come to a conclusion on this matter.
