00:00We thought that she must have had, like, some kind of medical episode in the night and that somehow, you
00:08know, the paramedics had come because the back doors were propped open, you know, and that didn't make any sense.
00:18We thought maybe they came and there was a stretcher and they took her out the back, but her phone
00:23was there and her purse was there and all her things.
00:27During the first part of her emotional interview with Today colleague Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie revealed new details about the
00:34moment her nightmare began.
00:36Savannah's sister, Annie Guthrie, was the one to tell her the devastating news their mom, Nancy Guthrie, was missing.
00:42She went on to describe the chaos and disbelief of phone calls with hospitals and police officers.
00:48She and her siblings knew something was very wrong when they saw the state of their mom's home after the
00:5484-year-old went missing.
00:56The doors were propped open, there was blood on the front doorstep, and the ring camera had been yanked off.
01:01So we were saying, this is not okay.
01:04Savannah tearfully recounted how Nancy was taken captive in the dead of the night in her pajamas, with no shoes,
01:11without her medicine.
01:12She sobbed as she talked about the reality of realizing that her fame may have had something to do with
01:17the tragic crime.
01:19To think that I brought this to her bedside, that it's because of me.
01:32And I just say, I'm so sorry, Mommy.
01:35I'm so sorry.
01:37She also addressed and hit back at the whispers and innuendos that her family members were involved in Nancy's disappearance.
01:44It's unbearable.
01:49And it piles pain upon pain.
01:52When asked about the multiple ransom notes that were sent, Guthrie said that she believes two of the ransom notes
01:58linked to the disappearance are real.
02:00A person that would send a fake ransom note really has to look deeply at themselves to a family in
02:08pain.
02:11But I believe the two notes that we received, that we responded to, I tend to believe those are real.
02:23Savannah spoke about the heartbreaking questions her two kids, Vail and Charles, have asked her since their grandmother was kidnapped.
02:30Vail would write me all the time.
02:34Mama, any leads?
02:36Any leads?
02:37Do you hear anything?
02:39You know, any hope?
02:43Savannah's sit-down marked the first interview since Nancy went missing over seven weeks ago.
02:48She told Hoda, someone needs to do the right thing.
02:51We are in agony.
02:53Nancy was last seen at her Tucson home on the night of January 31st and was reported missing the next
02:58day.
