03:46interceptions over an eight pass span and yet you won that game that thing was not a picasso for the
03:52niners or for brock purdy but you found a way to win and in the nba when you're trying and one of the
03:58two teams last night was really trying and it's the warriors and you're home that's a game you
04:03absolutely should win and so even though you did it in an ugly fashion 23 turnovers and by the way
04:10that's now the 11th time this year they've had more than 20 turnovers it's a big number the four
04:15and seven in those games though so we can ask steve about this because he always says you know we gotta
04:20win the turnover battle well you didn't last night and it wasn't close and you still won so you take
04:25last night you file it under w if you want you can file it under u for ugly uh either way that's a
04:32win seven turnovers yeah is a gargantuan number actually you're just watching the game and there
04:42was a stretch where i'm like my god he's throwing the ball away on every other possession and that's
04:47how i knew it was seven because i'm like there was a timeout on the floor and i did one of those like
04:53i need to go to the internet i need to go to the internet find out what that number is
04:57you're able to dive into the box score over here and i'm like oh oh god like i was expecting it to
05:02be maybe four or five seven seven seven turnovers dude in 24 minutes and if you are if you're into
05:11the per 36 stats number the per 36 that means it's 10 and a half turnovers per 36 minutes
05:17which that's a lot and you know i do think part of it is he's not used to playing with these guys
05:24and there are a couple of them i looked at all seven of them this morning and a lot of them are
05:27like you're talking about where you just got picked and you just threw a one-arm pass to no one there
05:33were a couple though where he was trying to do something and the player he was passing to wasn't
05:38really on the same page and the hands go on the head and you know it's draymond's turnover
05:42unfortunately clocked that one to draymond no i mean like everything else not every single one of
05:48them is quote unquote all his fault um but i'm certainly not going to use that as reason number
05:53one that he had right seven turnovers he's thrown a lot of balls that are getting knocked away by the
05:58defense and you know i i attribute it to um i guess if you want to indirectly refer to it as age
06:07or the loss of of skills or whatever because i think the number one thing that happens to athletes
06:13when they start to age the mind still goes at the same pace that it always used to and the body
06:20doesn't he is it's no different than by the way i'm sorry to say this out loud christian mccaffrey and
06:27and many others they are a half step slower than they used to be this is not a criticism they have a
06:34bleep ton of miles on them so this is not a criticism of draymond green the real question
06:42though does become and and boy are we looking forward to chatting with steve at five o'clock
06:47what do you do about it what do you do about what i think is very clear draymond green's skills
06:55are starting to erode in front of our eyes and it doesn't work the same way anymore
07:01so what do you do about it and i'm going to take away the number one answer on the board
07:07for two reasons because a lot of you will call and go you gotta trade this guy too late too late
07:12and that doesn't work anyway and he was never a part of any trade conversation thanks mike you're
07:18welcome um trades are hard i had to get one in early like um that's an unbelievable assumption it's
07:25it's really not it so the trade deadline is over and draymond green is not somebody who is attractive
07:34on the trade market he's just not and it's not because he sucks or whatever it's because
07:40he's expensive he's over 35 he is also a um a certain skill set that may only fit in certain places with
07:52certain players especially at this point in his career i don't think any of these things are
07:57criticisms but i don't think draymond's attractive on the trade market i think the trade deadline i
08:02don't think i know it's over so you can't use that answer but you got to do something what do the
08:09warriors do with draymond green i think they do what they've started to do which is if you're playing
08:15well you have earned the spot to close this game if you're not playing great then we're going to go
08:21elsewhere and i i think about a kid that you have who's an honor student and they show up late and
08:27it's like you're never late try to show up on time and by the fifth or sixth time that that kid comes
08:31home late it's like all right next time you come home late they're gonna have to be repercussions so
08:36i think that that's where draymond is now where he's not playing that great and when he's not playing
08:41great you don't get that free pass anymore because the warriors are trying to win games and last night's a
08:47great example he goes out they're down 13 and they went on a 19 to 5 run the rest of the way
08:53and they won the game without him they look better on defense when he's not on the floor right now
08:57right they look uh younger quicker more active all of it i'm not sure exactly what to do with this
09:05information but uh well you know we'll try to access it throughout the show we'll certainly talk to steve
09:10about it um but that that's how it looks right now and sure chemistry is an answer that is a part of
09:19it but that's also that's who the warriors are um i sort of have two ideas on at least how i'd answer
