00:00I would say the mental health aspect, first and foremost, they have to understand their
00:07vertical relationship with the Lord and what the responsibility he has for them as a father.
00:14And then pass that along to their children or anyone that they are mentoring.
00:21One thing that I find in a black and brown community, with the incarceration rate being
00:28so high, it starts at adolescent, teenagers, young adults, because they don't see the role
00:37model before them.
00:39So I think mentoring is so, so important because they have to see you can't become what you
00:46don't see.
00:48So you have to see someone who have come from the trenches and made it, as you would say,
00:54and show them this is what it's going to take for you to make it.
