00:00If you didn't watch the Super Bowl last night, you missed a real talker. And by that, I mean the
00:04halftime show. By now, you have heard that the favored Seattle Seahawks handedly beat the New
00:09England Patriots 29-13 in what was largely a lopsided snoozefest of a game. They say defense
00:16wins championships, and the Seahawks did just that. But it was the controversy surrounding
00:21Bad Bunny's halftime show that brought the buzz. The Puerto Rican rapper performed an energetic
00:2615-minute show with plenty of celebrity cameos, including Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin, who, by the
00:32way, has not aged a day since 1997. And yes, he performed exclusively in Spanish. Dressed in a
00:39stylized football jersey with the number 64 and his last name, Ocasio, on the back, Bad Bunny paid
00:44tribute to his home island of Puerto Rico, the dancing, the food, the games, and even the lasting
00:49effects of Hurricane Maria. He concluded his show by holding up a football that said, together we are
00:54America. Not everyone agreed. The president posted on Truth Social about the performance.
01:00Quote, the Super Bowl halftime show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst ever. It makes no
01:05sense, is an affront to the greatness of America, and doesn't represent our standards of success,
01:10creativity, or excellence. The criticism of the halftime performer leading up to the game prompted
01:15Turning Point USA to counter-program with a conservative-focused set of singers headlined by Kid
01:21Rock. The event was kicked off by TPUSA host Jack Posobiec, who opened the show saying, quote,
01:27this one's for you, Charlie, a nod to Turning Point's co-founder, Charlie Kirk. Five million
01:33people tuned into the YouTube live stream. We're entering day nine of the search for Savannah
01:39Guthrie's mom, Nancy. The second deadline in a ransom note delivered last week is today at 5 p.m.
01:45Mountain Time. Over the weekend, authorities offered another non-update update, which followed a second
01:51ransom note being sent to media outlets and another heart-wrenching plea by Guthrie's children directly
01:57to the kidnapper or kidnappers, posted to Savannah Guthrie's Instagram Saturday night.
02:02We received your message, and we understand. We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can
02:11celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will
02:20pay. On Sunday, law enforcement searched a septic tank behind Nancy's home. Drone footage of the search
02:25shows three detectives sticking a long pole down an open manhole behind the house. Now, they left
02:30empty-handed, and it wasn't clear what prompted them to conduct the search in the first place.
02:35Meanwhile, the Post spoke with former CIA agent and FBI Special Agent Tracy Walder about that
02:41ransom note, and she told us she believes whoever wrote it knows what they're doing. Quote,
02:45This is someone who said, I am going to sit down. This is how I'm going to encrypt the email. This
02:51is the VPN I'm going to use. They put some plan into this. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos is being
02:57dragged online for taking a break from the Nancy Guthrie investigation to attend the University of
03:02Arizona basketball game on Saturday night. Fox News Digital was given photos of Nanos at the game,
03:08and a source said, quote, This whole thing being so fresh and nationwide, maybe worldwide,
03:13I don't think it was good for him to do it. He's a major part of the investigation, so it doesn't
03:17look good to me. Very sad to see him at the Arizona basketball game. Nanos is not a University of Arizona
03:24alum and doesn't seem to have any kind of documented connection to the school, aside from living and
03:30working near it. Just minutes after the game ended, Savannah Guthrie and her siblings posted that
03:35Instagram video where they said they would pay the reported $6 million ransom for the return of their
03:41mother, Nancy. Top Democratic lawmakers are digging in their heels to oppose a federal voter ID law,
03:48despite the fact that recent polling suggests many of their constituents are pretty much in favor of
03:53it. The SAVE Act, which stands for Safeguard American Voter Eligibility, would require voters
03:59across the country to prove their citizenship before being allowed to cast their ballot. The law has
04:04already passed the House, but Senate Democrats are leveraging the 60-vote filibuster to block it in
04:09the upper chamber. A new study from Pew Research found that a whopping 83% of Americans, including
04:1571% of those who identify as Democrats, support such a requirement. And that didn't stop Senate
04:22Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, though, from calling the SAVE Act, quote, Jim Crow 2.0. And apparent voter
04:28preference aside, here's what California Senator Adam Schiff said on ABCs this week.
04:32It's still going to be something that disenfranchises people that don't have the proper
04:36real ID, driver's license ID, that don't have the ID necessary to vote, even though they are citizens.
04:44This is another way to simply try to suppress the vote. And the last thing I think we want to do
04:50is discourage more people, more citizens from voting.
04:54President Trump took to Truth Social to rally support for the bill, writing in part,
04:58I am asking all Republicans to fight for the following, Save America Act. He then ticked off
05:03the elements of the law, showing ID at your polling place, changes to mail-in ballot requirements,
05:09and proof of citizenship to register to vote in the first place.
