00:00We'll never be there.
00:02For Ryan, the truth is it doesn't matter
00:05because he's too disciplined to let the wait
00:08or the next day weigh in be a problem for him.
00:11You think it's just a working out thing,
00:14but it's more of a mental battle,
00:16and Ryan's so accustomed to it at this point
00:19that I truly don't believe it's going to affect him in any way.
00:22He just has a mission, and he knows what he needs to accomplish.
00:26It's pretty much the same process, getting down to 140.
00:29For him not to do this other than he's terrified of what I could do,
00:38this is one thing I want to make clear to people.
00:40This is not me complaining.
00:43This is just me showing his integrity as a champion.
00:46If you're not afraid, then what's four pounds?
00:53You know, for any type of athlete, you know, for any type of person,
00:56it's a full-body workout. It's very intense.
00:58So, yeah, I mean, I've been seeing, you know, a lot of the NBA's,
01:01you know, stars and players incorporating boxing.
01:04The gym I train at, I'm always running into, you know.
01:10Ryan Garcia trains relentlessly inside camp, running miles daily,
01:15sharpening speed, power, and focus,
01:17while preparing for a tough Mario Barrios showdown.
01:20It's over now.
01:21It's dead.
01:23Dead energy.
01:26He's getting destroyed.
01:28He ain't destroyed.
01:31I don't care about the story no more.
01:35It's coming to an end.
01:36It's done.
01:36It's finished.
01:37Put in steak in it.
01:40Done.
01:41No more story.
01:41You had a good run, like I told him.
01:44It was a nice little cute story.
01:46It's over with now.
01:47It's over.
01:48I got a longer story.
01:50That's the difference.
01:51This chapter's done.
01:53He had a fun little one.
01:54A little cute one.
01:55He did good for his city.
01:56But it's over now.
01:58It's done.
01:58F**k him.
02:02F**k everything about him.
02:03I don't like him.
02:04He don't like me.
02:05I don't need anything.
02:07I just know I'm destroying him.
02:09That's it.
02:11I don't like him.
02:12He don't like me.
02:13I don't need him.
02:14I'm ready.
02:15I'm coming in there to conquer him.
02:17Everything he thinks, he believes in me.
02:19You're going to see something else.
02:21Everything he f**king thinks, I'm showing him something new.
02:24He don't know.
02:25Garcia pushes his cardio hard,
02:27running long distances daily,
02:29building stamina, agility, focus, strength,
02:33and discipline for the Intense Barrio's world title fight.
02:38Reaching a level that surpasses any level
02:41that we've reached in previous camps
02:43to continually improve and get better every day.
02:50We'll be breakfast today.
02:52Yes.
02:53Starbucks Mocha.
02:55Mm-hmm.
02:55Have you had your yogurt today or no?
02:58I ordered it, but for some reason,
03:00they f**king my order.
03:01He stays strict with nutrition planning,
03:04eating clean, balanced meals,
03:05following expert advice to stay lean,
03:08fit, powerful, and focused for peak fight performance.
03:11You don't know how many miles I f**king run.
03:13He's not crazy like me.
03:14You don't f**king think like me.
03:16He f**king calls it cornea.
03:17I f**king believe all this s**t.
03:19I'm going to make him believe all this s**t.
03:30I'm going to make him believe all this s**t.
03:32I'm going to make him believe all this s**t.
03:34He balances rigorous workouts with meaningful time at home with family,
03:54giving mental calm and strength needed for peak competition readiness.
03:58My impact is to hold yourself as a champion.
04:06And what that means is to hold yourself to truth.
04:10To do things with honor.
04:12That's what a champion is.
04:13That's what a great leader is.
04:15So that's what I want to show people that I'm that guy.
04:18I'm going to play with the ball.
04:33Balance is important during training camp.
04:36Nutrition, training, sleeping, and most importantly, family.
04:41Try to shoot it.
04:43Ah, no.
04:46Oh, man.
04:47Meanwhile, Mario Barrio stays passionate about boxing,
04:50driven by family support, grinding through hard work daily,
04:54showing dedication, discipline, and relentless determination.
04:57Yeah, so I started boxing at the Eastside Boys and Girls Club.
05:01My mom, she's the one who took me and my older sister.
05:04That's kind of, that's where we had started.
05:06And we stayed in the area growing up in boxing for a couple years.
05:10I wasn't always like the best fighter, but I mean, I stayed with it.
05:15And I stayed persistent and eventually became a passion of mine.
05:18And I won my first national tournament at, like, 13.
05:21And that's kind of when I think that passion, like, really, like, started.
05:25And after that, it was when I really started to, like, dedicate myself to the sport.
05:29I really started trying to, like, learn as much as I could.
05:32Turned pro when I was 18.
05:33And from there, you know, things kind of just took off.
05:35I mean, I've been able to accomplish a lot, you know, for myself with this sport.
05:40Mario Barrios trains closely with his coaches, sharpening technique, building strength, correcting mistakes,
05:46and developing smarter strategies for every fight.
05:49Trying to sell the fight by, you know, being somebody that I wasn't.
05:53I know who I was.
05:54I knew what I was capable of with my skills when I step in the ring.
05:58That's all that I had to know about myself.
06:00But I've always said, you know, I think boxing is a great workout, you know, for any type of athlete, you know, for any type of person.
06:07It's a full-body workout.
06:08It's very intense.
06:09So, yeah, I mean, I've been seeing, you know, a lot of the NBA, you know, stars and players incorporating boxing.
06:15The gym I train at, I'm always running into, you know, Keldon Johnson.
06:19It's super cool to just to be around, you know, just, and just even just to, like, share that, like, knowledge as well because, you know, he's trying to learn.
06:25Me and Keldon had started following each other just, like, on Instagram maybe a year or two ago.
06:30And then he had always, you know, shown support and, of course, him being on the Spurs, you know, I had always supported him.
06:37Mario Barrios says he is hungrier than ever this time, motivated to prove himself pushing harder, training longer, and chasing victory.
06:45For me, I'm looking to get back in the ring sometime around fall time.
06:49You know, I'm hungrier than ever.
06:51My last three fights, you know, I was a headliner for a short time pay-per-view, which is huge, you know, for myself, you know, for my career and just, you know, everything that I have put into this, you know, since I first started boxing.
07:04At the press conference, Mario Barrios emphasized his focus and readiness for the February 21st fight.
07:10Barrios expresses respect for Ryan Garcia's dedication, acknowledging that Garcia will be 100% prepared.
07:16Hearing this motivates him even more, reinforcing his determination to leave no excuses in the ring.
07:22He promises fans that when he steps into the ring, he never quits.
07:26Always giving his best, Barrios assures that both fighters are committed to delivering a thrilling fight, highlighting his relentless work ethic and the high-quality performance boxing fans can expect on fight night.
07:37I'm the ringmaster.
07:39The ringmaster.
07:40The payaso.
07:42But, uh, I mean, yeah, you know, the fight set, you know, February 21st.
07:47Y'all know what I bring every time I step in there.
07:51You know, they said that, you know, that he's focused, that, you know, this is, that we're going to get a Ryan that's 100%.
07:57And, uh, you know, that makes me happy to hear.
08:00So, you know, when I will put his ass on the 21st, there ain't going to be no excuses.
08:04Um, but, yeah, you know, like I said, y'all know what I get.
08:10I mean, y'all know what y'all get when I step in the ring.
08:12Um, I don't quit on my knee.
08:15You know, I always, you know, go out there.
08:17And he said the same thing.
08:19You're literally lying for lying.
08:20Anyways.
08:21He got it.
08:21You're going to get it.
08:23Like, the boxing fans are going to get a great fight.
08:27And, uh, you know, this ain't a fight that you guys want to miss.
08:31Mario Barrios and trainer Joe Goosen appear completely locked in ahead of the Ryan Garcia fight, with sharp focus and calm confidence guiding camp.
08:40Goosen explains that nothing is being taken for granted.
08:43He refuses to assume Garcia will repeat old mistakes, and instead prepares Mario for the strongest and most disciplined version possible.
08:50The goal is simple and serious.
08:53Train for the best opponent, not the weakest version.
08:55Goosen also speaks about stability in boxing, saying consistency with a trainer builds rhythm, trust, and growth, while constant changes can slow progress, unless the connection is missing.
09:07For Barrios, this matchup carries extra weight.
09:10After becoming champion through elevation and enduring tough draws, he wants validation.
09:14A clear win over a big name like Garcia would silence doubts and prove belonging at the top.
09:20This fight is not about labels.
09:22It is about earning respect the hard way inside the ring.
09:25I don't look back and count on him making the same mistakes he made in the last fight.
09:30I want to train Mario to face the best Ryan Garcia that he can possibly be.
09:38Now, in your viewpoint, is it a mistake to jump around trainers as much?
09:45Does it hurt a guy?
09:46Does it help a guy?
09:48Well, stability in boxing is a valued commodity.
09:53You know, especially if you're winning.
09:57You know, you don't fix it if it's not broken, right?
10:00But sometimes you can have a relationship with a trainer that, you know, just doesn't click for you and you recognize that and you may want to, you know, change.
10:17I feel like especially in, you know, today's age of boxing, you know, like I said, where people are very quick to write you off, you know, regardless, you know, if you got yourself into that position or not.
10:31Like I said, I got into that position, you know, by beating Ugas for the interim.
10:36And then, yeah, I was elevated when Crawford moved up.
10:41And, of course, to me as a fighter, you know, like nobody wants to be elevated as a champion.
10:46You always think about you winning the title, you know, against a champion, against in whatever fashion.
10:54But you always imagine yourself, you know, beating the champion.
10:57But, again, you know, that's just where, you know, boxing is today.
11:01And, regardless, I'm still very proud of that position that I was able to get myself in.
11:06But, yeah, you know, I'm looking forward to having a very, like I said, a very clear victory over, you know, a dangerous, you know, tough opponent, you know, who's trying to, you know, take my title.
11:20Chris Algieri reflects on Ryan Garcia's upcoming fight, saying it's not necessarily deserved, but it happens, and in business, it works.
11:28He acknowledges that although fans have known about this matchup for weeks, it's now official, requiring renewed discussion.
11:35Algieri admits the welterweight division is stirring, and the implications for the winner, especially if it's Ryan, are huge.
11:42However, Ryan remains a major question mark, supremely talented, yet inconsistent.
11:48Algieri references Roley Romero, once expected to dominate but ultimately defeated, illustrating the unpredictability of boxing.
11:55Ryan is an absolute wild card.
11:57Any prediction could be wrong.
11:58So, but, again, Ryan is one of the biggest question marks in the game.
12:02Super talented guy, but sometimes does not show up.
12:05Roley Romero.
12:06You know, people were talking about him walking through Roley's like it was nothing, and then he ends up taking a loss, getting dropped, and losing.
12:14So, there's, I don't know exactly who's going to win this fight, because that's, when it comes to Ryan, any prediction you make, it can go completely the opposite way.
12:22But, yeah, he's an absolute wild card.
12:25He goes in there and drops Devin Haney numerous times.
12:29He's on Osterine.
12:30He's in the middle of a manic episode, and he looked good.
12:37In the club.
12:37He's in the club the week of the fight, every night.
12:40Is that true?
12:42That's what I heard.
12:43I wouldn't be shocked.
12:44I mean, I went back and watched some of the interviews I did that week with him at Gleason's gym.
12:47That guy had, he, it was scary.
12:50I mean, I never, I never want to see a fighter like that again.
12:53He was going through some serious, serious episode.
12:56He highlights past episodes when Ryan appeared manic or distracted, making previous fights concerning to watch.
13:02Yet in 2026, fighters market themselves differently, using streaming platforms to engage fans.
13:08Algeri notes that even big names like Terrence Crawford and Tiofimo Lopez, similar promotions.
13:13Despite controversies, Ryan's star power endures, earning him another title shot.
13:19Fans will watch regardless of personal opinions, driven by passion and obsession with boxing.
13:23Algeri concludes that boxing requires a certain level of craziness, from fighters and fans alike, to stay fully invested and engaged.
13:31In the lead up to the Roley fight, where he was very reserved, very subdued, wasn't really promoting the fight,
13:38didn't look like he wanted to be there, horrible performance.
13:41He's somewhere in the middle, and I think that's what we're getting right now.
13:44He's doing a lot of streams.
13:45He's putting himself out there big time in that way.
13:48It's interesting to see how fighters market themselves now in 2026.
13:51It's all streamers.
13:53She's Terrence Crawford on with Aiden Ross.
13:55We see Ryan Garcia doing all these streams.
13:58Now, Tiofimo is linked up at Aiden Ross doing brand risk stuff.
14:03So, when it comes to that, that's interesting.
14:06But in terms of Ryan in the ring, even Tyson Fury recently posted on his Instagram story,
14:12and he said, this is true star power.
14:16Ryan Garcia, right back in a title shot off of a loss, true star power.
14:21And I was like, yeah, it's true.
14:23I mean, it is.
14:23It is what it is.
14:24And like you said, we're all going to watch.
14:25And that's like the part of boxing that really makes you think,
14:30it really makes you upset, is that, yeah.
14:32Mario Barrios' coach and manager, Bob Santos,
14:35shares his insight into the strategy for the February 21st fight against Ryan Garcia.
14:40Santos has been with Mario since his professional debut,
14:43guiding him to two world championships and building a strong foundation of skill,
14:47discipline, and ring IQ.
14:49Despite this longstanding relationship,
14:51Santos recognizes that sometimes a fighter benefits from hearing a different voice in the corner.
14:56After two consecutive draws, he felt that Mario had untapped potential
15:00and believed a fresh perspective could help unlock it.
15:03Santos highlights the value of experience,
15:05having worked closely with Hall of Famer Joe Goosen for many years.
15:09He respects Goosen's expertise,
15:11but felt that a new approach was necessary for Mario's growth.
15:14The goal was never to undermine anyone,
15:16but to provide Mario with renewed energy, focus, and motivation.
15:20Santos emphasizes that boxing is both mental and physical,
15:24and the right guidance can make the difference between a solid performance
15:27and a championship-defining fight.
15:29By introducing a new voice in the corner,
15:32Santos aims to maximize Mario's skills,
15:34sharpen his strategy,
15:35and prepare him to compete at the highest level against Ryan Garcia.
15:39Yeah, I'm Mario's manager.
15:42Mario's been with me.
15:43You know, he turned pro with me.
15:46I was the head in his corner from his pro debut.
15:49And, you know, he's won two different world championships.
15:53Sometimes you need a different voice in the corner.
15:55We're coming off two straight draws.
16:00To me, I know there's much more that he could give and do better.
16:05So, you know, sometimes a different voice, you know what I mean,
16:09could change things up.
16:10I worked under Joe Goosen for many, many years,
16:12so I have a great relationship with Joe.
16:14I have great respect for him.
16:16He's a Hall of Famer.
16:17And sometimes you just need a different voice in the corner.
16:21You know, the last fight with Pacquiao,
16:23I felt like there was sometimes a sense of urgency
16:27that we could have gotten more things done.
16:29For whatever reason, they didn't get done.
16:32And, you know, I have to take responsibility as the head coach.
16:36Reflecting on the Pacquiao fight,
16:38Santos admits there were moments where Mario lacked urgency.
16:41And as head coach,
16:42he takes responsibility for not translating strategies effectively.
16:46He emphasizes that two draws are unacceptable
16:48and that the fighter's growth requires adjustments.
16:51Sometimes, too many voices in the corner can hinder performance.
16:55Santos insists that this new approach with a fresh voice
16:59is designed to get Mario focused, energized,
17:02and moving in the right direction.
17:03The goal is to maximize his skills,
17:06ensure confidence in the ring,
17:07and deliver a decisive performance against Ryan Garcia.
17:11Is me to step aside, get a new voice in there,
17:14a new guy that can, you know, whip the pony,
17:18get it going in the right direction,
17:20make a change.
17:22Because two draws is just not acceptable.
17:25You know, going back to that Manny Pacquiao fight,
17:29you know, people were saying that, you know,
17:31it looked like he kind of got shell-shocked
17:33that he was fighting Manny Pacquiao.
17:35I mean, what did you get out of, like, you know,
17:37the reaction of Mario Barrios
17:39not being able to pull the trigger at times?
17:42Man.
17:45Yeah.
17:45You know, sometimes,
17:49that's another big reason I think it was good to make
17:53a move for him.
17:55Sometimes, you could get too many cooks in the kitchen.
17:59Wade Plemons expresses enthusiasm
18:01for the upcoming Ryan Garcia versus Mario Barrios' WBC clash,
18:06highlighting his belief that the old Ryan has returned.
18:08He recalls the version of Garcia
18:10who dominated before facing Devin Haney,
18:13the same fighter who knocked out Oscar Duarte
18:15with overwhelming force.
18:16Plemons emphasizes his desire
18:18to witness a focused, mentally stable Ryan
18:21rather than the unpredictable, erratic personality
18:24from previous buildups.
18:26Despite Barrios holding the championship,
18:28Garcia captures attention due to his exceptional skill,
18:31natural ability,
18:32and capacity to change a fight instantly.
18:34Plemons points out that this matchup
18:36carries significant stakes,
18:37not only for the belt,
18:39but also for legacy, confidence,
18:41and future opportunities against top contenders.
18:44He notes the unpredictability inherent in boxing,
18:46where even the most talented athletes
18:48can falter under pressure.
18:49Fans should expect intensity,
18:51strategic adjustments,
18:52and the chance to see a revitalized,
18:54disciplined Garcia compete at the highest level,
18:57bringing excitement and drama to the ring.
18:59I'm excited because I fear the old Ryan is back.
19:03And what do I mean by that?
19:04The Ryan that was about to fight Devin Haney,
19:07the Ryan that was a destroyer before then,
19:09a Ryan that knocked out Oscar Duarte,
19:11I might be glazing you, right?
19:15And I'm not even trying to say that the Ryan
19:16that was in the buildup for the Devin Haney fight
19:19and all the crazy shit he was doing
19:21is the guy I want to see.
19:22I want to see a mentally well-adjusted,
19:24locked in to fighting Ryan Garcia.
19:27And he looks to be that way
19:29ahead of this WBC title fight versus Mario Barrios.
19:33I'm not trying to count out Barrios at all.
19:35It's just Ryan is the A-side here,
19:37even though Barrios is the champion.
19:39And I think that's because Barrios
19:40is probably the most available champion in the world
19:44in the sport of boxing right now,
19:45I'll just say it.
19:46So I'm excited for this fight.
19:48It goes down February 21st.
19:50They're calling it the ring high stakes
19:52and the press conference once again showed me-
19:54Plemons adds that recent circumstances
19:56could serve as extra motivation for Garcia.
19:59Beyond the WBC belt,
20:00Ryan has the chance to right past wrongs,
20:03prove himself against rivals
20:04and set up future big fights,
20:06possibly against Devin Haney or Conor Benn.
20:09The tension with Joe Goosen adds a personal edge,
20:12pushing Ryan to show he was the better fighter all along.
20:15Plemons emphasizes that despite Ryan's success and earnings,
20:19he has yet to claim a world championship.
20:21And this fight represents a prime opportunity
20:23to solidify his legacy,
20:25blending ambition, revenge,
20:27and championship aspirations
20:28into one defining performance.
20:30When they started working together,
20:32and Ryan's left Joe before,
20:33so it's not like Ryan really has a leg to stand on
20:36being upset about this.
20:37But yeah, it's awkward.
20:39It's a weird situation.
20:40What I was gonna say though,
20:41is this could be the added motivation Ryan Garcia needs,
20:44not just the WBC belt.
20:46If that's not enough,
20:47you know, maybe you shouldn't be fighting.
20:48That should be enough motivation in its own right.
20:50Not just Mario Barrios,
20:51but the fact that you get to right the wrongs
20:55of the last performance,
20:56you get to put yourself in position for potentially
20:58Devin Haney rematch,
21:00Conor Benn fight,
21:02who knows,
21:03and you get to go and stick it to the guy
21:05that turned his back on you supposedly,
21:07Joe Goosen,
21:08and show him why you were the better fighter all along.
21:11I don't know,
21:12just added motivation and retribution,
21:14revenge type of attitude that maybe Ryan needs, dude.
21:17He's done so much in the sport
21:19in terms of money and success,
21:21but not on the level of world championships.
21:25That's it for today's video.
21:27Stay tuned until next time.
