00:00Yeah, when he's ready and if he can fight at the Superbantam class, and if timing is perfect for each other, I'd have to wait for him to challenge me.
00:14As for the Bam Rodriguez fight, Inoue said he'd take it, but it was all about timing.
00:18And I completely agree. Bam Rodriguez has a couple of divisions to go before he reaches where Inoue is at right now.
00:23And whilst I don't think naturally there's a giant size difference between them.
00:27After his unanimous decision win over Alan David Picasso, Naoya Inoue called out Bam Rodriguez as one of the fighters he'd like to face next.
00:44Inoue dominated Picasso to stay unbeaten, and then spoke openly about the future, mentioning possible matchups fans want to see.
00:51While most reports focus on a potential Superfight with Junto Nakatani,
00:55Inoue also referenced Bam Rodriguez as someone he'd be interested in facing if the timing and weight class work out.
01:01Specifically, if Bam can move up to Inoue's division.
01:04How would he entertain a fight against one of the other Superchampions,
01:08Jesse Bam Rodriguez if he came up in weight?
01:11What would he entertain a lot about?
01:12A lot of fighters would, in fact, want to try to defeat him those fighters.
01:16There would be a lot of fighters that kind of fight against Bam Rodriguez.
01:18And is there a lot of fighters who want to defeat him?
01:19I think he wants to meet the same fight against him.
01:20So, by the way between Bam Rodriguez is at any point.
01:21What if he would stand by him?
01:22He wants to meet the same time, in order to be fighting with Bam Rodriguez?
01:24When he's ready, and if we can fight at the Superbantam class, and if our timing
01:47perfectly with each other, I'd have to wait for him to challenge me."
01:52If Naoya Inoue and Bam Rodriguez ever fought, it would be one of boxing's richest and most
01:58talked-about matchups.
01:59Inoue is significantly more experienced, a long-established pound-for-pound superstar,
02:04an undisputed 122-pound champion, while Bam is still building his resume at lower weights.
02:10Because of that experience gap, many analysts see Inoue as the favorite.
02:14However, the money and fame such a fight would generate for both fighters would be massive,
02:18given their high profiles in the sport.
02:20Rodriguez himself has publicly acknowledged that a bout with Inoue isn't realistic right
02:24now because he's competing at 115 pounds and needs to move up in weight, possibly running
02:29through 118 next, before he could challenge at 122.
02:33Many insiders believe Bam must first unify at 115, and then prove himself at higher classes
02:39before an Inoue showdown could genuinely materialize, meaning several big fights stand between Rodriguez
02:44and the dream bout with Inoue.
02:46Expecting.
02:47As for the Bam Rodriguez fight, Inoue said he'd take it, but it was all about timing,
02:51and I completely agree. Bam Rodriguez has a couple of divisions to go before he reaches
02:55where Inoue's at right now, and whilst I don't think naturally there's a giant size difference
02:59between them, Inoue's much more experienced than Bam Rodriguez is. Not only that, but he's used
03:04to fighting in that higher division now, his body's had time to grow into it. And with the age gap,
03:07there's about seven years between them, Bam's still only 25, he's got plenty of developing
03:11to do. I'm just not sure we're ever going to see that one. I mean, look, I'd be so damn
03:16excited if it got made. Maybe they would do it at a catchweight or something, I don't know.
03:19But I do believe there'd be a lot of money in that fight. I mean, a lot of money as far
03:22as those lightweight divisions go as well, because they're two massive names, and there's
03:25no one around that can really even contend with either of those guys. I mean, I mentioned
03:28the Nakatani fight before, and whilst I don't like to ever make predictions without studying
03:31properly, I've already looked at Nakatani in quite some detail, and I just don't believe
03:35he's a great style matchup for Inoue. I mean, sorry, I think he's a good style matchup for
03:38Inoue in that I think Inoue will find it quite a comfortable fight. I don't see Nakatani being
03:43able to do too much to Inoue, but I need to sit down and really think about that one before
03:47I call it clearly. Bam Rodriguez, on the other hand, he offers a whole different puzzle.
03:50I think he's an elite level fighter already at 25. I think his frame is big enough that
03:55he can eventually go up to the same division as Inoue and beat up there with him and fight
03:58in that division. But also, you don't want to rush him. You don't want to put him
04:01there for putting him there's sake, just because there's money on the line, because he's
04:04going to be a superstar, and I'm sure there's always going to be some degree of payday on
04:07the line. But yeah, I mean, if they can make that fight, I think they should, because you
04:11don't get many opportunities to make mega fights like that, as I say, especially in those
04:14lower weight divisions. So look, for me, if you're Inoue, there's two ways of looking
04:18at it. Either you let Nakatani go and create a bit more hype around his name, go and get
04:21a better win than what he just had, or you just get that super fight done, because there
04:24ain't going to be many Japanese super fights. Not for Inoue anyway, not right now. Or you
04:29say, let's do Bam next. But either way, I think he should fight both of them before
04:32he's done. I would love to see that. The other one, I suppose the third option that
04:35we should maybe briefly mention is Inoue goes up another weight division. I think
04:38in terms of the lack of knockouts we're now seeing from him.
04:40Promoter Eddie Hearn has been clear that a Naoya Inoue versus Bam Rodriguez fight is
04:46exciting in theory. But right now, the two stars are at very different stages in their
04:50careers. Hearn has described their potential matchup as somewhat of a fantasy fight at the
04:55moment, because Rodriguez is still competing at super flyweight, while Inoue is
05:00established at super bantamweight, meaning Bam would need to move up two weight classes
05:04to make the bout happen. Hearn has emphasized that Rodriguez isn't ready for that leap just
05:09yet. He needs time to grow into higher divisions, unify titles, and gain more experience before
05:14making a shot at one of boxing's biggest names. Once Rodriguez moves up in weight and tests himself
05:19at bantamweight and super bantamweight, only then does Hearn see a realistic pathway for a
05:24clash with Inoue.
05:26I think, you know, right now Bam is two divisions away from Naoya Inoue. I think, you know, size-wise,
05:31it's an advantage, a major advantage, you know, Inoue.
05:36Do you want to do proper job? Size as well?
05:41Yeah, it's a different style. It's different stages in their career. You know, the movement,
05:43of course, which could be all wrong, but Penelo right now in his career plays a very good fight.
05:49And then two, I think, two top five, top six counter-pound guys. This fight coming up with Puma on the ring
05:59fight on November 22nd in Saudi. It's a brilliant fight. It's all about clash of styles. That's
06:04going to be amazing to watch. I mean, Bam wins that fight. He's one belt to be undisputed.
06:09So, that's Taraji now, that fight in Garcia. You know, Bam against Taraji, I know he's got
06:16big hopes of fighting in Japan himself. If we go over to Japan and fight Taraji for undisputed,
06:22that will go out of the protection fight. We might even need to beat Japan in terms
06:27and we expect Inoue to fight Akatai, I think it's all about. But yeah, Bam is 100%
06:35with his Bantam win, because he goes to Super Bantam. In time, if he catch Inoue time,
06:40what fight or so?
06:43You've been calling for that fight Akatai. Your question is, do you want this
06:48big or great Chinese man to vote two-fishing type of monster Inoue? I just think of a
06:53more good job. Sean Porter breaks down the potential fight between Nia Inoue and Bam Rodriguez,
06:59explaining why he leans toward Inoue. He points out that Inoue has several advantages, including
07:04age, size, and experience, which create a noticeable gap in his favor. Inoue is slightly older, physically
07:11stronger, and more seasoned in high-level competition, giving him an edge over Rodriguez.
07:16While Bam Rodriguez is skilled and fast, he would be moving up in weight, from around
07:20114-122 pounds toward 126, which could make things more difficult. Porter emphasizes that
07:28the fight would still be exciting, but Bam needs more experience and strength to match
07:33someone of Inoue's caliber. He describes Inoue as a monster in terms of physicality and skill,
07:39suggesting that these factors make him the favorite. Overall, Porter sees it as a thrilling
07:44matchup, but notes a clear advantage for Inoue.
07:47Stuff like that. I think with this two right here, I think that gap and that weight actually
07:53does matter. I think that that gap and that weight, Inoue being slightly older, more experienced,
08:00and things like that, I am inclined to favor Inoue in this fight, even though I haven't seen
08:06as much anyway as I've seen Bam. But the reason why I favor is because the age gap, the size
08:15gap. That's big for the little guys. Inoue is a monster. He's a monster. So I think Bam, I think that Inoue would be the favorite and the betting odds and the blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
08:33And it's a hell of a fight, but I just feel like there's a gap there. There's a gap there that I don't like.
08:41And just meet at 122? Just Bam comes up?
08:44Bam would be coming, because I think Bam's still at 114.
08:48Yeah, he won 14, you know what I'm saying? If they do fight.
08:51Oh yeah, you gotta meet at 122. Yeah, because he's at 126 now.
08:55Oh, he kept going? He went up? I think he's at 126 now, right?
08:58Okay, okay. He got another fight. His last fight was actually at 122 still.
09:02Okay, okay.
09:03But yeah, he could be going up for this fight.
09:05Mm-hmm. I think...
09:06Super Bannerweight?
09:07I think Inoue is on record for saying 126 is as high as he's gonna go.
09:11I think he's on record for saying that, but again, once you get there and you see how much more you might have left and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
09:18I do think that that's a hell of a fight.
09:21Yes. I would like to see Bam get more experience.
09:24Bam has to have more experience.
09:26That's the number one thing.
09:27He has to have more strength.
09:29Let me say this real quick, and then I think we can get out of here.
09:32Strength doesn't mean putting on muscles so that you can hit somebody and clock them.
09:37There's strength that you need to withstand what you're getting hit with as well.
09:41And Bam has to really build his body up a little bit more getting in the ring with somebody like Inoue
09:46who has both speed, power, quick, who has the total package.
09:50Rodriguez himself has repeatedly said that it's simply a matter of time before a fight with Inoue becomes reality.
09:56When the right moment comes, they'll make it happen.
09:59He's confident that if his career trajectory continues and timing aligns, that super fight could be on the horizon.
10:05This optimistic belief reflects not just personal desire, but an understanding that big fights often require patience and the right conditions.
10:13After Naoya Inoue's dominant win over Alan David Picasso, the boxing world is buzzing about what comes next for the undisputed super bantamweight champion.
10:22Inoue retained his belts with a convincing, unanimous decision, reminding everyone why he's widely considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the sport.
10:31With that victory now in the books, two names have been mentioned as possible future opponents, Yunto Nakatani and Bam Rodriguez.
10:39Both represent very different but highly intriguing possibilities for Inoue's next steps.
10:44And on his terms.
10:46And the monster would walk away at the end of the day with a unanimous decision victory.
10:51Although, alike to the last fight, I don't understand how one of the judges scored this fight 117-111.
10:56Like, where were the rounds he pulled for Picasso?
11:00I don't get it.
11:01But boxing scoring overall is a discussion for another day.
11:05Yet, Inoue said in the post-fight interview that he thought this was a disappointing performance for him.
11:11Although, there was no real reason for him to apologise.
11:14It was a beautiful boxing display from start to finish.
11:18And if you're at home just getting into the sport, please go watch his back catalogue.
11:22He is, in my opinion, one of the most brilliant fighters of our time.
11:27But back on the track, Inoue was also asked in this post-fight interview if the Nakatani fight is next.
11:34It doesn't sound like it's just signed off yet.
11:37He didn't explicitly say it's next.
11:39But he did tease that Japanese fight fans should expect something good.
11:43So, I would assume it's almost there.
11:46The date which is floating around online for this potential fight is the 3rd of May at the legendary Tokyo Dome.
11:52Fighting at the Tokyo Dome is a pretty big deal.
11:55Inoue throughout his career has only fought there once against Neary.
11:59And it was also home to one of the biggest upsets in boxing history.
12:03With Tyson Douglas occurring at the same venue.
12:06It's a pretty big deal to fight there.
12:08And it's a pretty fitting home for an event which could be one of the biggest boxing bouts to ever occur in Japan.
12:16Two Japanese pound for pound level fighters facing off in their primes.
12:20You really can't ask for much more.
12:22Really, I don't see a way this doesn't happen.
12:25I think the Saudis are determined to make it happen.
12:28And after the two have now won their respective bouts.
12:31And with the Saudis involved.
12:33Unless something extraordinary happens.
12:36Chris Algieri in his commentary has openly praised Inoue for being different and special.
12:41A true warrior with a skill set and mentality that stands apart from many other elite fighters.
12:46His unwavering confidence, sharp technique, and ring IQ have drawn comparisons to legends of the sport.
12:52With Algieri emphasizing that Inoue's combination of speed, power, and tactical brilliance truly sets him apart.
12:59Interest in a potential fight between Inoue and Bam Rodriguez continues to grow across the boxing world.
13:05Fans, analysts, and fighters alike see it as a rare matchup between two elite champions from different weight classes.
13:12Each known for skill, speed, and ring intelligence.
13:15Social media discussions, interviews, and highlight clips show just how much excitement surrounds the idea.
13:21Many believe the clash would not only be competitive, but also one of the biggest events in the lower weight divisions.
13:27With both names carrying strong reputations and global appeal, the demand is clear.
13:32Everyone wants to see if Bam's rise can meet Inoue's dominance inside the ring.
13:36The big one for me would probably be Inoue against Bam Rodriguez.
13:41Bam Rodriguez.
13:42Oh, damn.
13:43That's top.
13:44That's the one I want to watch.
13:45Yeah.
13:46That's top.
13:47That's an IQ at its peak.
13:49Yeah.
13:50That's like Pacquiao and Mayweather.
13:53Like, if they would have fought in their prime.
13:54Yeah.
13:55You get me?
13:56They never did.
13:57It was not in the prime.
13:58They could still make the fight happen, but it was not in the prime.
13:59Right now, Inoue against Bam Rodriguez, brother.
14:02Man, I'll pay top dollar.
14:04I'll fly to Japan, wherever.
14:06I want to watch that fight.
14:07The beautiful thing about that fight is I think we still haven't seen the best of Bam.
14:12Bam Rodriguez has made it clear that a fight with Naoya Inoue is something he hopes will happen eventually, but only when the timing is right.
14:19Bam has stressed that he is not in a rush and understands that careers have to develop naturally.
14:24Right now, his focus remains on growing, gaining experience, and handling business in his current weight class.
14:30Rodriguez believes that if he continues winning and moving up the divisions the right way, a showdown with Inoue will make sense on its own.
14:37He views it as a matter of patience rather than pressure, trusting that when both fighters are in the right position, the fight will happen at the right time.
14:44I know one name that's been mentioned a lot is Naoya Inoue. I know, I think you said you were two, three years off.
14:49Gut feeling, right? Will you two ever meet? Do you think? I know three years, we're not sure where he might be at.
14:55I'm sure we know where you'll be at in three years, but gut feeling, yes or no, do you two ever meet in the boxing ring?
15:00I believe so. I've always believed so that we will meet eventually down the line, but it's just a matter of time.
15:05Hopefully, when the time comes, he's still around.
15:08Jesse Bam Rodriguez spoke about fighting pound-for-pound champion Naoya Inoue after his impressive knockout win against Juan Estrada.
15:15In what was an action-packed fight between the two super flyweight boxers, Jesse Bam Rodriguez knocked out Juan Estrada with a solid body shot by the end of the seventh round.
15:23After this victory, the new WBC and Ring Magazine super flyweight world champion was asked about his thoughts of sharing the same ring with arguably the biggest name in the lowerweight division.
15:32And that is pound-for-pound Japanese boxer, Noya Inoue.
15:36Jesse Bam Rodriguez did not let the intense emotions cloud his judgment.
15:39Instead, he pumped the brakes and gave a solid response in regards to fighting Inoue.
15:43He said, quote, I know people want that, but let's be real.
15:46Right now, it's a fantasy fight.
15:47I gotta work my way up.
15:48Inoue's at 122 pounds right now.
15:50I'm barely at 115.
15:51So I got business to handle here at this weight class.
15:53I gotta make my way up.
15:55Bam stated that rather letting this victory get into his head, he would rather stay in his lane first and make sure that he becomes the best in his current weight class.
16:01Veteran trainer Robert Garcia has noted that a fight between Inoue and Rodriguez wouldn't be a complete mismatch.
16:08He points out that while Inoue is older and more experienced, Bam has the talent and skill to deserve a shot, so long as he continues to develop, gain maturity, and add strength through progressively tougher fights.
16:20Garcia believes that if Inoue continues to stay active, and if Bam keeps advancing through key tests, the matchup could be very compelling if the timing aligns.
16:29Is it crazy to think, is it too far of a stretch to see Bam go up against Inoue?
16:35I know there's been talk of that.
16:36I know Bam did a few interviews where he mentioned that he could see himself facing Inoue.
16:41It is very realistic.
16:43Look, Canelo started at 154.
16:47Tank at 135.
16:48So that's a big difference.
16:50With Inoue and Bam, they both started at 108.
16:54They both, you know, it's just that Inoue is a little bit older.
16:58He's matured a little bit more body-wise and everything.
17:01That's why he's fighting at 122.
17:03Not because he's a lot bigger than Bam.
17:05I think we're maybe two, three years from maybe if Inoue is still, you know, if he's still fighting and if he's still around there, you know, maybe even at 126, you know, in the near future.
17:19They are not far.
17:20I think, you know, two, three years from now, I think it's a fight that we could get.
17:26Promoter Eddie Hearn has also weighed in, offering a realistic take on the situation.
17:32He notes that Rodriguez is currently fighting at super flyweight and will likely need to move up in weight before being truly ready for Inoue.
17:39In Hearn's view, Bam still has multiple meaningful fights ahead, possibly at bantamweight and beyond, before a clash with Inoue becomes realistic.
17:47The physical jump between weight classes and the timing of Inoue's own career plans are important factors in making the fight possible.
17:54If you want a soundbite, can we just call out Naira Inoue now at 122?
17:58You know, and I think people talk about Inoue going up and fighting Tang.
18:02Why can't Bam go up and fight Inoue as well?
18:04I mean, that's not got Robert Garcia's blessing, but it's been talked about in the past.
18:08And I do see, you know, Bam in the last fight really struggled to make flyweight against Sonny.
18:14And it's mad because they were talking about him winning world titles at 108 as well.
18:18So I think he now knows that super fly is his division, but he will 100% move to bantamweight at some point. 100%.
18:26That's it for today's video. Stay tuned until next time.
18:30Okay.
