Devin Haney EXPLODES On Keyshawn Davis During HEATED Live Interview
Transcript
00:00He really ain't fought nobody, so...
00:03So is he annoying you more than...
00:04Nah, he don't annoy you.
00:06Where's he talking, on Twitter?
00:07All over, all over.
00:09In the world, a lot of the world know me.
00:13You know, and that ain't come from me fighting names.
00:16That came from me kicking ass and taking names and taking belts.
00:22So literally, the only thing I had to do is keep doing what I'm doing.
00:25His coach know I want to fight him.
00:27The boxing world know I want to fight him.
00:28So next time one of y'all, somebody interviewing him, ask him that question.
00:33Do you have the balls to fight Keyshawn?
00:35Do you want to fight Keyshawn?
00:36Why don't you want to fight Keyshawn?
00:38Why do you want to fight Keyshawn?
00:39Ask him those questions.
00:41Don't ask me.
00:42Because I will fight anybody.
00:45Tensions erupted as Devin Haney went off on Keyshawn Davis during a heated live interview.
00:50Dismissing his rising hype and claiming he has fought nobody significant.
00:54But Keyshawn says he does not need big names to prove his power.
00:58He's delusional.
00:59I don't know what he's talking about.
01:00When you saw him go on social media calling you out, what did you think?
01:03Nah, I mean, we seen him go on social media and call out a bunch of people.
01:07So I didn't think it was real.
01:08I'm like, we seen him do it so many times and then the fight not happened.
01:11So it was, I didn't take it serious.
01:13Keyshawn Davis has accused Devin Haney of ducking a potential showdown, arguing that Haney
01:18constantly calls out major stars while deliberately leaving his name out of the conversation.
01:23I wouldn't say you scared of me because fighters aren't really scared of fighters, but you're ducking me?
01:28Like, what is it about?
01:29You don't think fighters are scared of fighters?
01:31And I DM Bill.
01:32Yes.
01:33Yes.
01:34I would be very surprised if he say he's willing to do that.
01:45Say it again.
01:48All right.
01:49I said, we're going to try and lock this data and murder going to talk to you after this,
01:52but I'm going to call Bill tomorrow and we're going to see Bobby.
01:56I don't know if he's still on the West coast or not, but hopefully it can be face to face.
02:01But if not, we'll definitely get him on zoom, but I think he'll show up and this way it don't
02:06have to be no back and forth.
02:07He said, she said, we'll both have y'all on the show.
02:09And then we can know.
02:11He could tell us what was in the game.
02:13Davis added fuel to the rivalry by posting a humorous video of himself saying about Devin
02:18not wanting to fight him.
02:19Hey, yo.
02:20Don't nobody want to fight me.
02:24Deebo.
02:25Lois Crocker.
02:27Now Lamont Rhodes.
02:29Damn.
02:33Following Davis is confident challenge.
02:35Bill Haney fired back, questioning Davis's readiness and accusing him of chasing attention
02:40rather than earning his place in line.
02:42The same thing that we talked about we were going to do in the DM before you picked your
02:46man.
02:462026.
02:47We're doing it.
02:47We need to get him back.
02:48You promise?
02:49Remember, you promise.
02:51You're the promoter.
02:52Well, I got your.
02:53Listen, in the DMs, I got your word on it.
02:55All right.
02:56Just stand on it.
02:56You said it.
02:57You said it.
02:57You said it.
02:57You said it.
03:01He's a dangerous opponent.
03:03Many up and coming fighters make the same claim saying champions choose safer, bigger
03:08paying fights.
03:09Devin Haney however believes he's following his own career plan.
03:12Yeah, for real.
03:13All right.
03:14Devin Haney.
03:15I feel like me and Devin Haney will be a, it'll be an easy fight for me, bro.
03:19Like super easy, bro.
03:20Like, and I know I would stop Devin Haney.
03:23Ah.
03:23I've been saying this, bro, before the, before the Ryan fight, bro.
03:26He just don't got nothing for me.
03:28He got nothing for me.
03:30Like, you don't got no power.
03:31You got nothing for me to worry about.
03:33Like, what are you going to do to stop me?
03:35Got you.
03:36And what I got coming with, you know what I'm saying?
03:38I feel like he don't got nothing to even stop me.
03:40His defense is not that good.
03:41Mm.
03:41I got, I feel like I got better defense than him.
03:45I know he fought better opponents than me.
03:46So, you know what I'm saying?
03:47I gave him the benefit of the doubt.
03:48Yeah, for sure.
03:49But I just feel like I got better defense than him.
03:51Bro, his resume tough.
03:51Nah, he did.
03:52His resume tough.
03:53But you got to realize he fought a lot of guys that were smaller than him, too, bro.
03:56A lot of these guys were smaller than him and he was saying it in the weigh-ins.
03:58You're too small.
04:00You know what I mean?
04:01So, he knew what he was doing, bro.
04:03You know what I mean?
04:04So, everybody got that, that, that process.
04:05Davis has made it clear in recent interviews that he doesn't intend to stay long at super-lightweight
04:11and views the welterweight division, where Haney currently reigns as WBO champion as his
04:16next major destination.
04:18I'm gonna go to 147 and I'm gonna become a 147 champion.
04:22Okay.
04:22And then, I'm gonna defend it against somebody at 147.
04:28Devin Haney?
04:28Who at 147?
04:29Is it Devin Haney?
04:30Yeah, you, yeah.
04:31Cause that's a pound for pound, brother, right now.
04:33And, and we asked you, who's a fight that's gonna put you on that pound for pound list?
04:37Devin Haney's at 147, right?
04:40And he got a belt.
04:41Now he is.
04:41Now he is, yeah.
04:42And you say you want a 147?
04:43I mean, what we doing?
04:44What we talking about?
04:45Names.
04:46We talking about, we talking about January 31st.
04:49I'm gonna, I'm gonna look great, God willing.
04:51And in the future, we going big.
04:53Tank Davis's coach, Kenny Ellis, gives his thoughts on this upcoming matchup, saying
04:58Keyshawn Davis is a talented fighter, but believes it's still a bit early for him to
05:02face Devin Haney.
05:03He stresses that the issue is not skill, it's experience.
05:07Haney has far more professional fights in championship level rounds, which matters
05:11greatly in elite boxing.
05:13Yeah, I think, I think he should get a couple more rounds in before, you know, you go at
05:18Devin Haney.
05:20But, you know, if he feel like he can take him, let him, let him, let him get at him,
05:24you know?
05:26Yeah, let him get at him.
05:28Are you looking at him more like that 12 round experience type deal?
05:31Yeah, yeah.
05:33Getting rounds in?
05:34Get some rounds in.
05:35When you, when you listen to the, and then, you know, there's back and forth going with
05:39them too.
05:39You know, Devin saying that, you know, he would like to fight, you know, the little
05:42brother before the big brother.
05:45Um, you know, what, what thoughts on that?
05:48I think, uh, there was a tweet saying that I'm, you know, Shakur, I don't want to step
05:51on Devin Haney's toes.
05:53I'm going to let Keyshawn get Devin Haney.
05:56I mean, uh, you know, a lot of people had lots to say about it.
06:00They're saying that, listen, they're breaking down the rankings with two, two to three different
06:04people, uh, you know, friends type of deal.
06:06Um, taking each other's work.
06:08I mean, Keyshawn wanted a T.O.
06:10Now, you know, Shakur got T.O.
06:12But now, because I took that work, I want you to go get, uh, Devin Haney.
06:17He's saying Devin Haney might be a little bit too big for him.
06:20I mean, what's your thoughts on Keyshawn's call out and all this talk?
06:24Let him, give him what he want.
06:26Let him, let him go at Devin Haney.
06:27Davis argued that Devin Haney has more fights largely because of strong self-promotion and
06:33strategic marketing by his team.
06:35According to Davis, the hype surrounding Haney has often outpaced what he has actually proven
06:39inside the ring against elite competition.
06:42Do you believe maybe, uh, the entire boxing public was making Devin into something a lot bigger than he is?
06:52I mean, Devin was doing that.
06:55Devin and his father, they was promoting, they was promoting Devin well.
07:00In terms of, you know, building his fights, who he was going to fight next to keep his name rolling.
07:05Um, making things look like stuff that it isn't.
07:08And just saying things that's extraordinary.
07:11They was doing a great job promoting Devin, you know?
07:13And he was fighting and he was winning.
07:15So, um, they was doing everything they could to make him out into the fighter he is today.
07:20And, um, hats off to that too.
07:22You know, us as fighters nowadays, we gotta promote our own selves.
07:25So, um, they was doing what they was supposed to do, you know?
07:27Davis has made it clear that he's ready to face anyone standing in his way,
07:31setting his sights firmly on the very top of the sport.
07:34The rising star has repeatedly expressed confidence in his skills, power, and ring IQ,
07:39insisting that he belongs in the conversation with boxing's elite.
07:43Rather than taking slow, cautious steps, Davis has shown a willingness to chase the biggest challenges available,
07:49believing that high-risk fights are exactly what will prove his greatness.
07:53He understands that bold call-outs bring pressure, but he embraces it,
07:56viewing every potential showdown as an opportunity to elevate his status
08:00and silence doubters who question whether he's truly ready for championship-level competition.
08:05You said, you set your targets publicly on Devin Haney.
08:08Number one, well-to-weight by ring, most estimations right now champion.
08:13Why is that? Why, why Devin Haney?
08:15And, you know, you have half the amount of professional fights he has.
08:18Do you think that's something, there's enough in it for him?
08:21When, when he's...
08:22I was six and no fighting people with 30-plus fights, bro.
08:25Mm-hmm.
08:27Stopping him.
08:27I don't mean it, I don't mean it from that.
08:28What I mean is...
08:29Stopping him.
08:29Why is he saying...
08:30Stopping...
08:30Nah, I'm playing.
08:34Nah, I'm playing, bro.
08:35I'm playing, bro.
08:36Nah, why Devin Haney, bro?
08:37Honestly, because he's a star.
08:40He's a superstar.
08:41And I also...
08:42You know, you're asking that question.
08:43That's, I felt like that's what it was.
08:44But go ahead.
08:45Yeah, like, at the end of the day, I'm ready to fight anybody.
08:47So, I'm going for the stars.
08:49And I know Devin Haney is the same fighter from when he was at 35.
08:53He's the same fighter when he was at 40, now he's at 46.
08:56He ain't nothing changed with his weight.
08:57You know what I'm saying?
08:58I will knock Devin Haney out.
09:01Guaranteed.
09:01Davis also claims that Devin Haney has never truly respected him,
09:05dating back to their early days in the sport.
09:08According to Davis, Haney consistently underestimated his talent
09:11and never viewed him as a legitimate threat.
09:13He believes Haney dismissed his abilities and refused to acknowledge his growth,
09:17even as Davis steadily climbed the rankings and proved himself against tougher competition.
09:22Davis feels that despite his accomplishments and rising profile,
09:26Haney has continued to overlook him in public conversations about top opponents.
09:30To Davis, that lack of recognition isn't accidental.
09:33It reflects a long-standing mindset where Haney simply never saw him as someone
09:38capable of challenging him at the highest level of boxing.
09:41How did that happen?
09:41What was the situation with you and Devin?
09:42Yeah, I never f*** with Cud.
09:44Why?
09:44Because Cud never f***ed with me.
09:46On what 10?
09:46Bro, it was like times where like...
09:48Bro, it was times where like me...
09:50I was always around Shakur as an amateur and s***.
09:52So Shakur introduced me to Floyd, Devin Haney, all that type of s***.
09:55So there's a hell of a times around Devin Haney and we 24 fitness playing basketball regular s***
10:00before n***s became celebrities type s***.
10:02Or just who we are today.
10:05And n***a just never showed... n***a never even looked me in my eyes.
10:07N***a never showed me respect.
10:09Like n***a never...
10:10Shakur always like, yo, this n***a Keyshawn, this is not third.
10:12He be like, for real?
10:13That n***a still a kid.
10:14Like he just never gave me my respect.
10:16Oh, he sent you.
10:16He sent you.
10:17You know what I'm saying?
10:17So it's like...
10:19It's like...
10:20You know goddamn well...
10:24Now I'm here.
10:25And everything Shakur been saying, I lived up to it and then something.
10:29What you talking about?
10:29And he's...
10:30Like...
10:30His father used to...
10:32It's crazy because...
10:33My beginning of my professional career, his father used to be like,
10:36Oh s***, the businessman.
10:38Who support you?
10:38Like, get me up.
10:39My man.
10:40So you always was the businessman.
10:42And dad was...
10:43Keep his face forward and...
10:45Like damn, I can't get no...
10:46Like...
10:47We...
10:47African-American.
10:48You can't show me no type of love?
10:50I like that.
10:50African-American.
10:50You're weird, b***h.
10:52Alright, well how about this?
10:53So you been a businessman?
10:54Yeah, hell yeah.
10:55So it's like an amateur?
10:57Yeah, hell yeah.
10:57Davis has openly targeted Haney and even said he would move up in weight just to make
11:02the fight happen.
11:03He framed it as chasing greatness rather than waiting for opportunities.
11:07In a recent interview, he vowed he would go to 147 pounds if necessary to force Haney
11:12into the ring.
11:13Davis claimed this progression as a natural evolution, building on lessons learned from
11:17earlier challenges, including missed weight and time away from the ring.
11:22Toward the end of the interview, he reflected on his broader ambitions, asserting that his
11:26talent, charisma, and determination position him to become one of boxing's leading figures.
11:31Despite aiming for prominence, he stressed the importance of staying grounded, disciplined,
11:36and prayerful, highlighting that personal growth and spiritual focus are as crucial to his
11:41journey as athletic achievement.
11:43His mindset combines confidence with humility, signaling a focused, resilient path forward.
11:48I think that would be the most common answer is Shakur outpoints him in a very competitive
11:53fight.
11:53What then?
11:54What then for you entail?
11:56For the businessman, huh?
11:58All right.
11:58All right.
11:59Cool.
11:59Since you worded it like that.
12:02I don't.
12:03Because I won't go say that.
12:06I don't know.
12:07Honestly, I don't know what the future hope.
12:08I just know what I want to do.
12:10And I want to go to 147 and become a champion.
12:12Because I just feel like them guys just can't beat me from 140 to 147.
12:16And I just feel like, you know, I'm going to surprise the boxing world.
12:19I'm small.
12:20I'm small.
12:21I just moved to 140.
12:22And I'm going to be fighting guys naturally bigger than me.
12:24And I'm going to be stopping them.
12:25I'm going to be knocking them out of me.
12:26I agree.
12:27And that's going to be very entertaining.
12:28I remember when Floyd Mayweather told me when he was still 130 pounds that he wanted
12:33to fight Felix Trinidad.
12:35And at the time, that fight never happened.
12:37And who knows how it would have gone down.
12:39But at the time, I'm like, Floyd, 130 pounds.
12:41This dude is a big 47 pounder.
12:43The World Boxing Organization has reportedly stopped Keyshawn Davis from challenging Devin
12:48Haney for the welterweight title, citing procedural rules.
12:52According to the organization, Davis is not currently ranked at 147 pounds and has not
12:57submitted the required paperwork to be entered into the welterweight rankings.
13:01Under WBO regulations, a fighter must be officially ranked in a specific weight class
13:06before becoming eligible to compete for that division's championship.
13:10So as you see right here, the World Boxing Organization, better known as the WBO, has
13:16informed former WBO lightweight world champion superstar boxer undefeated Keyshawn the businessman
13:23Davis, who has 14 wins, no loss, no draw, 10 wins by way of knockout.
13:27That if he is planning, as he says publicly, to actually face off against first ballot Hall
13:36of Famer, three division world champion, former undisputed lightweight, former WBC Julian
13:43Welterweight, and reigning WBO welterweight world champion superstar boxer Devin the Dream Haney
13:49at 147 at 147 welterweight, they stated Keyshawn Davis needs to inform them and put in the proper
13:58paperwork to make that happen because he did not.
14:03And so they stated if he don't submit the paperwork, he will not be fighting Devin Haney.
14:11He will not be allowed to fight Devin Haney, not for the WBO title.
14:16Although Davis has publicly discussed moving up in weight and repeatedly called out Haney
14:20on social media, those statements alone do not satisfy the formal requirements.
14:25Without filing a written request to join the welterweight rankings, the WBO confirmed he
14:30cannot be approved as a title challenger at this time, regardless of fan interest or online
14:35hype surrounding the potential matchup.
14:37So if he's truly serious about fighting Devin Haney, the first step is submitting the proper
14:42paperwork to declare his move to 147 pounds officially.
14:45Once that request is filed, the sanctioning body can formally consider allowing Devin Haney
14:50to move forward with a bout.
14:52As of now, however, officials have stated that Keyshawn Davis has not submitted any request
14:57to campaign at 147 either to challenge Devin Haney for the WBO title or to leave the 140 pound
15:03division.
15:04In fact, records show he is still officially enrolled at 140.
15:07And from their perspective, it appears he may be preparing for another fight in that
15:11weight class.
15:12There's other people in their ranking system that's ahead of Keyshawn.
15:16So if he truly is wanting to fight Devin Haney, then he needs to put the paperwork in to let
15:23them know he's officially going to campaign at 147 so that the sanctioned body can allow Devin Haney
15:33to proceed forward.
15:35To proceed forward.
15:35But if Keyshawn Davis does not.
15:38And as of today, they stated that, as you see, they're stating that he has not put in a request
15:45to go to 147 to fight for that, to fight for the fight Devin Haney for the WBO belt and
15:52or to actually leave the division.
15:55They stated, as you see here, he is still enrolled at 140.
16:01And it looks like to them, he's planning another fight at 140.
16:07Now, we know all the antics, the promotion that Keyshawn Davis is putting forth as he is,
16:14you know, promoting a showdown with Devin Haney and no need to go into all of that.
16:21You guys know what's being done and what's being said.
16:24Some fans have even speculated that Keyshawn Davis might be avoiding a fight with Devin Haney,
16:29suggesting he is more focused on generating hype than committing to the matchup.
16:33In interviews, Davis has addressed these concerns directly, emphasizing that this fight has to make sense,
16:38signaling that any major bout must align with his long-term career goals and timing.
16:43Critics argue this approach allows him to build interest and maintain leverage without taking unnecessary risks,
16:49framing it as careful narrative control.
16:51Supporters, however, see his stance as a sign of strategic thinking rather than avoidance.
16:56By insisting on fights that make sense, Davis demonstrates awareness of career trajectory,
17:01negotiation strategy, and preparation.
17:04His emphasis on discipline and growth shows he intends to compete at the highest level when the timing and conditions
17:10are right.
17:10My opinion on the whole situation that's currently going on between Devin Haney and Keyshawn Davis.
17:16And when really looking at and assessing this situation,
17:19I'm just trying to figure out at the end of the day if Keyshawn Davis really wants the biggest fights
17:25in the sport of boxing,
17:26or does he just want the biggest headlines?
17:28You know, after stopping Jermaine Ortiz Saturday night, Keyshawn Davis immediately calls out Devin Haney in the ring.
17:36And I'm not going to lie to y'all, that's a real fight for the sport.
17:39A true chess match with Keyshawn Davis' elite timing, sharp and accurate punch and understanding of range,
17:46and solid defense being tested against Devin the Dream Haney, elite jab, quick feet, fast hands, championship pedigree, and, you
17:56know, his high-level ring IQ.
17:58But then, hours later, he's on Shannon Sharpe and Ocho Cinco's platform nightcap,
18:04and now, within a few hours, he's saying that this fight has to make sense.
18:10Shifting the conversation over to Lewis Crocker and talks with Eddie Hearn.
18:14And, in my eyes, this is where the questions start.
18:17This isn't something that's even new, even.
18:20You know, when we look at Keyshawn Davis' past, he said he was going to fight Edwin De Los Santos
18:24and Abdullah Mason,
18:25just to miss weight, not stay in the division at 135, and end up fighting neither,
18:31while Abdullah Mason goes on to beat Sam Notes to take the title that was stripped from Keyshawn Davis.
18:36At some point, that stops feeling random and starts to feel like a pattern.
18:41Big call-outs, big buzz, then a pivot.
18:44And whether intentional or not, it makes me question how much Keyshawn truly wants these big fights.
18:50Because in boxing, at least from the fans' point of view, trust is built on consistency, and just as importantly,
