00:00Mental health check-ins means actually sitting down and y'all know like those 90s R&B shower
00:06cries that like Usher and Mariah Carey be doing? Like that's me. I'd be like in the shower like
00:11crying like Kim Kardashian type of cry. But that's the way that I check in with myself. Like I do a
00:17temperature check. So what does a self check-in look like for you? Yeah, I think you know with
00:22everyday life we have so much going on and you're so in the day-to-day of things, right? And you may
00:28not be aware that something is going on with you. So I always think it's super
00:32super important whether it's at the beginning of the day, whether you're
00:35journaling, whether it's in the midday when you're taking a break for yourself. I'm
00:40always big on checking in with yourself and seeing what's going on. Like what are
00:43you feeling? Or it could be at the end of the day and saying like how how did I
00:47experience today? What did I go through? What you know I was feeling anxious today.
00:51Why? Because sometimes we can't pinpoint what it is. Like something is going on but
00:55I don't know what it is. So I think it's super important to check in with yourself
00:59to see what's happening instead of sticking with the day-to-day. And I think that is so
01:03many distractions. Social media is one of the things, right? Where we sometimes don't
01:08even get a chance to even check in because we are distracted by other things that's
01:13going on. So it's super important like I said for you to make sure that you check
01:17in with yourself. I tell all my clients that or anybody I'm talking to like how are you
01:21feeling? And that is super important. And it's not a burden. I feel like a lot of
01:25people also feel like that, right? My friend might call me and say, hey do you
01:29have the space for this? And I love that she does that because I have a ton of
01:33things going on. But it's important that you call and talk to somebody about it
01:38because you just never really know what you don't know until you check in with yourself.
