00:05A Queensland man has been charged with almost 600 child abuse-related offences
00:11following a major investigation into what police described as deeply disturbing online offending.
00:18Police will allege the man recorded his interactions with his victims
00:22and had them send him sexually explicit material.
00:26Ethan Mitch Burns-Dederer, 27, is accused of recording interactions with more than 450 children
00:34using gaming platforms and social media to prey on victims as young as five years old.
00:41Police will further allege the man created multiple online fake profiles,
00:46both of males and females, and that he groomed, coerced and threatened young people
00:51into sending him sexually explicit material.
00:54Detectives seized electronic devices from Burns-Dederer's Mary Borough home
00:59and spent more than a year examining the devices,
01:02allegedly uncovering more than 23,000 videos and images.
01:08Investigators allege the 27-year-old targeted children
01:11by creating multiple online profiles to groom and coerce victims into producing material,
01:18which was then meticulously catalogued.
