00:00Thank you, President, members of the Directive Board, dear colleagues of the Parliament.
00:09Today we are in a crucial stage of our history, a moment that calls us to unity, to the reconciliation, and especially to forgiveness.
00:22We celebrate the opening of a door that we have called for so long the possibility of healing our wounds, collective wounds, through the law of amnesty.
00:35This law cannot be seen as the triumph of a party or of a political leader because in reality it is the deep calling of a people, of the mothers and fathers that miss their children, of the children that miss their parents,
00:55but also of the families that have been hurt by a conflict that is political, as the Bible says, and this has to call us to reflection,
01:09well-ventured those that pacify because they will be called the sons of God.
01:18And this wisdom reminds us that the path to peace and reconciliation demands bravery.
01:28We cannot allow that having a different opinion to be considered a crime or to manifest our inconformity to be an aggression.
01:40That is why the announcement that the national executive does on a law of general amnesty that will go from 1999 to the present year
01:54can take us to the meeting point to justice but also to forgiveness.
02:02It is essential to understand that this amnesty is not a sign of weakness but a powerful symbol of will for the reconciliation
02:13that looks to repair the deep elections in the heart of our people.
02:19This law cannot be left only in the freedom of political prisoners and it is a calling also to close definitely the centers of reclusion
02:34that have been a symbol of so much pain as the helicoid that is today turned or has turned into an emblem of suffering and torture
02:45but also it must include a deprivation of the actions of our police bodies that have been involved in the actions that have put many behind bars.
03:08Also, it is crucial to eliminate laws that are unjust like the law of hate and the law of Simon Bolivar.
03:16Also, the interpretation of crimes of treason to the homeland and terrorism that have no space in a true state of right of law.
03:27On the contrary, they create polarization and they condemn the innocent.
03:31The spirit of this law must allow that those that have been forced to abandon our country by a political persecution to be able to return.
03:42We must end the criminalization of politics in Venezuela and open the doors to a nation where the different thinking
04:00things are not a reason for persecution from our fraction.
04:05Go, go, Venezuela.
04:06We support and we will accompany the vote to approve this law in the first discussion.
04:11And something very important, no more pending counts or revenge.
04:19Justice is not a revenge.
04:21It is everything, President.
