00:00So we want an inquiry. We want to know why is it the TfL board members are
00:05completely unaware they're responsible for privatising huge chunks of our
00:10transport network. We want to know why is it we've got a democratically elected
00:15Labour Mayor, a Labour government who's promised the biggest wave of insourcing
00:19in a generation, where we see train operating companies being brought back in
00:23to form GBR nationally, yet in London we see the total opposite direction. We're
00:28seeing the opposite of insourcing. They're contracting out half of our
00:32infrastructure, hundreds of millions of pounds of your money and our money
00:37straight out of our industry into profits for these corporations. They are running
00:44the show. The mayor is not in control. The board does not know what decisions are
00:50being made in its name and we think it's time for an inquiry to expose the corrupt
00:55practices that have led to the poverty situation our members are facing and the
01:00fact they've got to go on strike to get something as basic as sick pay. We want to
01:05see the mayor live up to his commitments. We want a public inquiry and we also want
01:10our summit with the mayor and the rest of the trade unions who represent workers in
01:15TfL because we've had enough of it. We've had enough of promises and
01:19commitments from people who say they're going to do one thing on a Monday and they
01:23turn around on Tuesday and they sign a check with these private corporations. It's an
01:27absolute disgrace. So solidarity to everyone that's come out here today and our
01:31message to the mayor is you need to get a grip. You need to decide do you
01:37actually run this city or is it the corporations that are running it for you?
01:41Who is in charge here? Because it don't look like it's the mayor today. Solidarity.
01:46It's important to note that I'm the second General Secretary of the RMT Union that the
01:55Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has told to my face that he intends to insults cleaners across
02:03TfL in London Underground and elsewhere. I'm the second General Secretary he's made that commitment
02:10to. And I've got to tell you our members working in the cleaning contracts in London
02:15Underground and on the Docklands Light Railway have been betrayed. That is a cold
02:21fact about it. And what we've got in London is a battle between the democratically
02:27elected administration and a permanent bureaucracy who have been totally captured
02:33by the corporate lobby interests in London.
