00:00The humanitarian crisis in Sudan has reached an unprecedented level of collapse, according to the United Nations.

00:09More than 14 million people have been displaced, famine is spreading across vast areas,

00:16and the war continues with no clear political horizon,

00:19turning Sudan into one of the world's worst humanitarian disasters today.

00:24This grim reality has prompted urgent international action.

00:30In Washington, D.C., under the auspices of the Donald Trump Institute for Peace,

00:35more than 20 regional and international donors gathered around a single goal,

00:41trying to rescue Sudan from a catastrophe that is worsening by the day.

00:46The United States announced the launch of a new humanitarian fund

00:50and secured pledges totaling $1.5 billion to support relief efforts,

00:56confirming a U.S. contribution of $200 million.

01:01Washington also praised support from regional and international partners,

01:06including Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt and Chad,

01:12as well as United Kingdom and Norway.

01:14At the same time, Washington proposed a humanitarian ceasefire

01:20to open safe corridors for aid deliveries.

01:23But fighting continues in Kordofan and Darfur.

01:27Until then, the fate of millions of Sudanese remains hanging in the balance,

01:32in a race against time to save whatever can still be saved.
