00:00Hi, I'm Annie Potts, and I play Aunt Sarah on Best Medicine.
00:05Who makes you laugh the most on set?
00:06Jeez, that is a real competition.
00:09There is an actress who you might not know by name, but her name is Clea Lewis.
00:15Everything she does just sends me into shrieks of laughter.
00:19Josh Segura is pretty funny, too. Oh, man.
00:22What drew you to saying yes to the role for Best Medicine?
00:25After Young Sheldon, it was just the kind of thing that I was looking for,
00:30because like that show, this show is about taking care of each other.
00:36We're a larger family in Best Medicine, but it's about taking care of each other and community.
00:43We're divided right now, and nobody wants to look at America like that.
00:47And it's nice to have a template like this to remind us of how things were and can be again.
00:52What would be your dream second career if you weren't acting?
00:55I like to design things, houses and interior design.
01:00I'm not a serious painter. I'm kind of like a handy person. I like a lot of things.
01:05What is the most Southern thing about you that has never gone away?
01:08I grew up in a little town in the South, very much like Portland.
01:12And I think it's one of the things that drew me to it,
01:15because we practice love and support and community involvement.
01:19That has never left me, and it's something that I appreciate so much.
01:24What's a line from one of your previous roles that fans quote you the most?
01:28We got one!
01:30If you could give Dr. Best one piece of life advice, what would it be?
01:34Lighten up!
01:34When do you feel the most you?
01:36The older I get, kind of the more me I am at my work.
01:39I'm kind of a known commodity now, so people who are writing for me
01:43kind of know who and what they're writing for, so that's very freeing.
01:47When I'm with my children and my grandchildren,
01:51or I'm in nature or in the ocean, that's when I'm happiest.
01:55Has your acting approach changed over the years?
01:58Well, I think not much.
01:59Just my basic rule is tell the truth,
02:03and for comedy, it's tell the truth faster.
02:06We'll be right back here.
