00:20The AI highlighted suspicious areas in a mammogram
00:23that helped radiologists during interpretation.
00:26Ultimately, the final recall decision was still made by the radiologists.
00:30But the biggest difference with standard double reading
00:32is that not all examinations were read by two radiologists.
00:47You want to have as few of those interval cancers
00:49because they are known to be more aggressive
00:52and lead to poorer patient outcomes.
00:55And AI mammography screening was shown to be as effective
01:01in preventing dose as standard double reading.
01:04And we actually saw a 12% reduction in the number of interval cancers
01:09in the AI-supported group.

01:13In the Messiah trial, AI was not a substitute of the breast radiologist.
01:25The breast radiologist was still the one who made the final recall decision.
01:29So at this point, AI is not taking over.
01:32So right now, AI is already implemented in some parts in Denmark
01:36and some parts in Sweden.
01:37Mainly because they have a shortage of breast radiologists
01:40so they really needed to find a way to solve that.
