00:00So early detection is the key to treatment for breast cancer. Our technology has significantly
00:28advanced over the last 10 years. And so the survival rates are excellent when we detect breast
00:35cancer early. So it can be as high as about 90% within five years of a diagnosis, and that number
00:41decreases significantly with late diagnosis. So it's really important to be on top of screening,
00:47pay attention to any changes in the breasts and any lumps, because if we can kind of get
00:53onto treatment early, then that means everything for survival.
00:58In terms of clinical exams, it can start with even your first well-woman exam. So you can always be
01:07paying attention to any changes in the breast. In terms of screening, actual mammogram screening,
01:13we recommend that that starts at about age 40. Some people, they would start earlier if they have
01:18an additional family risk. So we have a lot of calculators that we can use to help determine
01:31what is your personal risk incorporating your family history, your genetic history,
01:36even the density of the breast. So it's really important to have that tailored conversation
01:40with your doctor to understand if maybe you need additional screening, or just to really
01:46understand what your lifetime risk of breast cancer is.
