00:00I discovered it naturally and organically of just like, wow, that feels really amazing.
00:11She was ankles to ears, exposing herself, and I was like, a lot is happening right now.
00:17Sometimes I end up like, you know, bleeding.
00:20Ooh, yeah.
00:21Feet sweaty.
00:22No way.
00:23You're out in public doing it, though.
00:25Okay.
00:26They don't know what I'm doing.
00:27It makes me feel really uncomfortable and creeped out.
00:31Ew.
00:33It gives me a feeling almost like I'm doing a drug.
00:36This pill's pretty good.
00:37I've been doing this for a long time, but I've never experienced anything like this before.
00:42Bro, what the ?
00:43This is bad.
00:45They just think you're some kind of freak, like you're crazy, you know?
00:47It's no sense in talking to you.
00:49No, it's no sense in talking to you.
00:57Yeah.
01:09Yeah, buddy.
01:11This might be.
01:14Oh, that's not it.
01:15Hi, welcome to Ornay's home.
01:23Hey, brother.
01:24How you doing?
01:24Doing well.
01:25How can I help you?
01:25Good, man.
01:26Just looking around.
01:27Okay.
01:28Wondering if you got any yellow sponge?
01:31Yellow sponge, yeah.
01:32You got sponge options?
01:32Yeah.
01:32Can I see it?
01:33Of course, yeah.
01:34Let me show you some options.
01:35My name is Ron.
01:36I live in Orange County, California.
01:39Like, this is...
01:39Yeah, here we go.
01:40Can I take this out of there?
01:41Of course, yeah.
01:41This smells pretty good.
01:45So you guys got a lot of this stuff in the back, maybe?
01:46I have to check.
01:47Would you mind looking in the back for me?
01:48I can, yeah.
01:49I'll be right back.
01:49Okay.
02:02And I'm addicted to eating furniture sponge.
02:04Sponges like this friend that is there for you when no one else is there for you.
02:14It gives me a feeling almost like I'm doing a drug.
02:22Yeah.
02:23This is what I'm talking about.
02:24I'm very particular about the sponge I eat.
02:27The sponge I eat needs to smell a certain way.
02:29Jackpot.
02:30It needs to have a certain texture.
02:31There we go.
02:33Clean, too.
02:34And it can't be in a cushion that has been sat on for a long time.
02:42Aha, yeah.
02:42Because you can taste that.
02:44That's it right there.
02:45I'll tell you.
02:53Mm-hmm.
02:55That's it.
02:57I've been doing this for a long time.
03:00We have a lot of different kind of customers in the store.
03:03But I've never experienced anything like this before.
03:08What do you sell this to me for, the bottom half?
03:10Just the mattress or the...
03:12Just this piece.
03:14The display one.
03:16Please work with me, brother.
03:17I appreciate that.
03:17If it's hurting your health, I kind of don't want to do that.
03:21You're helping me more than you're hurting me.
03:22Okay.
03:23Trust me, man.
03:23Sometimes I'll have to go somewhere and they'll kick me out the store.
03:26I see.
03:26Because of what I'm going through.
03:28I see, yeah.
03:29Of course.
03:30I really want to help you out, but that's my only piece.
03:33I'm only able to sell that mattress showing the interior like that.
03:37So I won't be able to sell you that one.
03:38There are definitely a lot of chemicals used in mattresses that will harm him a lot.
03:46Me helping him, hurting himself, I don't think that I can do that.
03:49It's very difficult to find the kind of sponge I like because the kind of sponge I like was
04:02made 25 years ago.
04:05I call it yellow sponge.
04:07I've been eating sponge for about 25 years and it started when I was about 8 years old.
04:14I got addicted from smelling it through a toy that my grandparent had given me.
04:19And I would hold the toy all the time and I started smelling the toy.
04:23It was a stuffed bear.
04:25And I decided one day to open it, unzip it in the back.
04:28And it was stuffed, packed with sponge.
04:31I took a bunch out, smelled it, and I said, oh, this is what it is.
04:36This is what it is.
04:40And when the teddy bear run out, got to start looking for it elsewhere.
04:44I was like, where do I find it?
04:46You'd be surprised how many couches are made of sponge.
04:56And now, I'm eating more than I used to eat then because now it's constant.
05:00No one can stop me.
05:01No one can tell me what I should and shouldn't do.
05:03So it creates like a feeling in your throat.
05:05It feels good.
05:06I don't know.
05:07It just feels relaxing.
05:08It feels good.
05:08I guess if you were to take a drag on a cigarette after a long day of work, it feels like that.
05:14Like, really.
05:15This is a mattress top.
05:16So, like, throw it over your mattress.
05:18It helps you sleep comfortable, I guess.
05:19But for me, I eat it.
05:21This will be gone in probably, I don't know, a week.
05:25I would say in my lifetime, I've probably eaten at least a couch and a half to two couches of cushion.
05:40It's a no-go.
05:41No more.
05:42Can't use that.
05:42So, if I do these little chunks, they're like little bite-sized, little snack-sized.
05:50I know that it's not healthy.
05:51I've already had some health problems because of it.
05:54It caused a blockage in my lower intestine to where the doctors almost had to go in and cut the part out where the sponge was blocked.
06:05Mmm.
06:07Like a sponge gumbo.
06:09Ooh-hoo.
06:09But, thank goodness, they were able to unblock it.
06:14Mmm.
06:16Mmm-hmm.
06:17Mmm.
06:18From that point on, I knew I had to do something to stop myself from getting in that condition.
06:28And I found a way to do it.
06:34Little fiber.
06:36Get a little bit of that in me, and it helps get it out.
06:38It fights, fights the sponge, you know?
06:43I don't like being like this.
06:44It feels like I'm doing something wrong to myself, and I feel like I've got to hide it from people.
06:52And I feel like if I don't hide it from them, I'm going to be judged.
06:56But if I don't have a sponge for, like, two days, I'm, like, mean.
07:03I have an attitude.
07:05It's like, I can't get to it.
07:06Why can't I get to it?
07:07I've got to go find it.
07:08I'm going to go search it down, and I'm going to go find it.
07:11My name is Tara, and I live in the remote desert of Southern California.
07:39I am a ritual priestess and musician.
07:51And I'm addicted to sunning my perennium.
07:54Perennium sunning is the practice of allowing natural sunlight to reach our perennium.
08:01The perennium being the area between your genitals and your butthole.
08:05Take flight, dear.
08:07You are made of air.
08:10Spread your wings and fly with me.
08:12And we can face our feet.
08:16When I sun, I experience a connection with my music that is, like, no other.
08:22And my songs will just flow out of me.
08:24In my early 20s, I didn't, like, specifically know to sun my perennium, but what I would do
08:32is be barefoot or nude in nature, and my legs naturally open, and I could feel the sunlight.
08:38So I discovered it pretty naturally and organically of just, like, wow, that feels really amazing.
08:44When the sun comes up in the morning, my body is very in tune with that, and I just naturally
08:57always wake up whenever the sun rises, and I do my morning ritual, sunning my perennium.
09:02I like to place my perennium directly towards the sun because it's the divine masculine energy
09:10that activates its warm, penetrative rays, provide vitamin D.
09:15It's essential for my well-being.
09:20Do you want cream?
09:21No, I'm actually okay without it.
09:23Thank you, though.
09:27Gary is my current partner, and we've been together for a little over a year.
09:32The sky is really blue.
09:34So excited to sun today.
09:37I discovered Tara liked sunning about a month into our relationship.
09:42She was ankles to ears in the sun, exposing herself, and I was like, that's a lot.
09:47A lot is happening right now.
09:49Do you want to join me for some sunning?
09:52Um, it is pretty nice out, but I'll let you sun because it's your thing.
09:58I'm not really into absorbing all that sun, solar, radiation in my, you know.
10:08Sounds good.
10:14Couples who sun together stay together.
10:16I'm hopeful that my partner will sun more with me.
10:20I think it can be a very bonding experience, and just as it gives me health benefits, I want that for my partner as well.
10:27I would love for you to take me to that one spot for sunning.
10:31Hey, you got it.
10:31Good ride.
10:48To be exposing yourself and being so free is weird nowadays.
10:52So I really hope that there's never an issue with it in the future because I would stop supporting it
11:00if it had any sort of negative health effect on her.
11:07I grew up in a very conservative and Christian family, and so some of my family members have distanced themselves from me because of my studying practices.
11:22I call the ravens and they sometimes come.
11:29And even the relationship with my previous partner didn't work out because of our incompatibilities around perennium sunning,
11:37but I would not stop perennium sunning if a boyfriend didn't approve.
11:41I would just no longer approve of that boyfriend.
11:47I collect them to save for later on.
11:50Is that your tone-up collection again?
11:52Yes, girl.
11:53I think it's weird.
11:55That's nasty though.
11:59It's almost like a good wine.
12:03I don't need you on your soapbox.
12:05He's tried everything to make me stop.
12:07Doesn't work.
12:09Okay.
12:11See, this is why I don't talk to you, bro.
12:13See, he's an idiot.
12:14He's an idiot.
12:20My name is Janette.
12:21I live in Hedgesville, West Virginia.
12:29I am single.
12:34Good sweat.
12:35My name is Janet, I live in Hedgesville, West Virginia.
12:38I am single.
12:42Whew, good sweat.
12:45This is my favorite part.
12:49I am a self-employed mother to two beautiful daughters.
12:54Ooh, yeah, feet sweaty.
13:05And I'm addicted to eating toenails.
13:18I eat my nails every day.
13:19When I see, you know, any nails growing in,
13:22I just go straight for it and just start biting on them, chewing them.
13:26This toenail is so salty right now.
13:28It tastes so good.
13:30I have been eating toenails for about 26 years now.
13:33I started eating toenails when I was about eight or nine years old.
13:44When I do bite my toenails,
13:46I bite them till there's no more nails to bite enough to eat them.
13:51So sometimes I end up like, you know, bleeding and
13:56I will still go in and keep biting them so I can have something to eat.
14:03This was my travel, my little, cute travel container with my nail stuff in here.
14:12Biting my nails helps me with my anxiety.
14:15The more I chew, the more it calms my nerves.
14:20So I just don't bite my nails.
14:21I collect them to save for, you know, later on.
14:25And this is the container that I put them in.
14:28Just in case when I need to go out somewhere and I need, you know, to grab one or two.
14:34And in addition to that, I always have my favorite candy with me.
14:40I love gummies.
14:43So what I do is I'll grab one of my gummies out and maybe take about two or three toenails.
14:50Just poke them in here.
14:57Sometimes I crave nails all by itself to eat and sometimes I crave them with candy.
15:02I eat fingernails also.
15:03I will prefer toenails mostly because it's more stronger than the fingernails.
15:25The more I can chew on the nails, the better it is for me.
15:29It's delicious.
15:30I'm from Ghana.
15:31Growing up, I didn't know who my mom or my daddy was.
15:32All I thought was my grandparents were my parents.
15:34I started biting my fingernails when I was pulled on the plane with a complete stranger
15:50to migrate to the United States to meet my parents.
15:54And when I was on the plane, I just remember I was biting my nails and it did help me like
15:58calm my nerves.
16:03When I'm good on my nail supplies, I'm eating about seven to eight nails a day.
16:07So I do run out quickly, but I do have a way to keep more supplies.
16:14In my household, it's just me and my daughters.
16:17When I'm running out of toenails, that's very stressful for me.
16:21But Ava nails do save me.
16:23Jeez, your nails grow fast.
16:24I just clipped them the other day.
16:28You okay?
16:29Yeah.
16:30Okay.
16:31Ava has the best toenails in the family because they are salty.
16:38You know, she's only nine.
16:40She runs around playing outside, riding her bicycle.
16:43So she has a salty toenail and they are very tasty.
16:51All right.
16:52Good night.
16:53Love you.
16:54Don't eat those nails.
16:55You know what?
16:56I used to chew on Naya, my oldest toenails.
17:00But when she got to like eight, nine, ten years old, she wouldn't let me eat on her toenails
17:05or her fingernails after I would clip them because to her that was nasty.
17:10Hold on.
17:11I have to grab one.
17:19Is that your toenail collection again?
17:21Yes, girl.
17:22Nasty.
17:23No.
17:24How is it nasty?
17:25It's toenails.
17:28Bunch of dirt.
17:29It helps me.
17:33When my mom eats toenails, I think it's weird.
17:38I can't imagine sticking my foot in my mouth in a thousand years.
17:41I'm going low on my supplies.
17:43You want to know who else nails I eat?
17:48Who?
17:49Take a guess.
17:50You want to know Kayla?
17:52Ah!
17:53That's the only person you hang out with.
17:55Yes.
17:57Kayla.
17:59My friend Kayla, when I know she's going to get a pedicure and medicure, I will ask her
18:04if she can have her toenails or fingernails that are clipped to save them for me.
18:10And she never really, like, asked why I needed them.
18:13She just always saves them for me.
18:16That's nasty, though.
18:18I'm nervous about how Kayla is going to respond once she finds out that I eat her nails.
18:24So hopefully she won't, like, judge me.
18:27I gave birth to you.
18:28The least you can give me is your nails.
18:30You don't have to pay me for that, because that's...
18:32I cook, I clean, I buy you clothes.
18:34I'll start cooking and cleaning.
18:35That's the most you can do for me.
18:36I'll start going to work myself.
18:39I can stay home, relax.
18:40Instead of giving me your nails.
18:42Oh, that's not nines.
18:56Here are some of the sponges.
18:57This is what I like to call popcorn.
19:00This, though, this is my favorite right here.
19:04It's a certain smell this one has.
19:08It's almost like a good wine, right?
19:10When you're chewing sponge, like I chew sponge,
19:13you have to grind your teeth.
19:15You have to grind the sponge in your mouth for a while.
19:18You start experiencing pain when you bite.
19:20You start experiencing pain when you have cold or hot on those teeth.
19:24To avoid all that, I will blend it.
19:29And get it to a fine texture to where now I can just spoon it.
19:33I don't even have to chew anymore.
19:38This is what I'm talking about right here.
19:39This is where I get, I get excited because this is just satisfying.
19:45See that, a little bit of that?
19:49Mmm.
19:54Mmm.
19:56Mmm.
19:58Who in your life are you hiding your addiction from?
20:00I don't have a lot of people in my life, but from everybody.
20:08Bro.
20:10What's going on, bro?
20:11What's going on, man?
20:12How are you?
20:13Not too good.
20:14Just was watching my football team get destroyed in one of them years, man.
20:20It's one of them years.
20:21Yeah, y'all been having ten years of them years.
20:25The only person in my life that knows I'm addicted to eating sponge is my brother, Demetrius.
20:30You caught me in the middle, man.
20:31You caught me in the middle of making one of my concoctions, so...
20:35I don't know.
20:36Yeah.
20:39You know what?
20:40We talked about that thing.
20:42Demetrius literally hates the fact that I eat sponge.
20:46He's tried everything to make me stop or to have me stop.
20:49Doesn't work.
20:51What has he tried to do to have you stop?
20:53He tried to fight me.
20:55He wanted to fight me because I wouldn't stop.
21:00Figure what out?
21:01Already you know what I go through.
21:02We've been going through this since we were kids.
21:07So I'm immature now?
21:13You know how hard it is, man, to stop drinking?
21:15It is.
21:16It is.
21:17And that's why they got the 12-step program for alcoholics.
21:21So what do they got for people like me that's gonna eat sponge, bro?
21:24There's nothing, right?
21:25So I just need people like you, my family, to support me, man.
21:29I don't need you on your soapbox, right?
21:36Okay.
21:38See, this is why I don't talk to you, bro.
21:40I'm gonna eat the sponge if I want to eat sponge.
21:42Period.
21:43That's it.
21:44Look at some doctors or something that we might be able to call that can help you with that.
21:48I don't need your help, honestly.
21:49I don't need your help, bro.
21:50It's no sense of talking to you.
21:53No, it's no sense of talking to you.
21:56See?
21:57It's an idiot.
21:58I'm alone in this journey.
21:59I am alone in this journey because nobody else in my life has ever experienced anyone else doing what I'm doing.
22:06So I know I'm alone.
22:14to kick some newcomer through
22:17there.
22:22Since my nail supplies have been depleted.
22:24I'm going to ask my friend, Kayla, for her nails today.
22:27Hey, guys.
22:28Hey, girl.
22:29Thanks for coming.
22:30I'm here.
22:31I'm good.
22:32And you?
22:33I'm good.
22:34How was the drive?
22:35It wasn't too bad.
22:36She never really asked me why I asked her
22:38to save me her toenails or her fingernails.
22:41So hopefully she won't think it's nasty,
22:44because I really need to eat nails now.
22:47Cheers to mom's night out.
22:50Thanks for coming now.
22:52Thank you for having me.
22:54Again, you got the shrimp tacos with fries.
22:57That looks so good.
22:58Of course.
22:59Looks delicious.
23:00Ooh, thank you so much.
23:01That looks really good.
23:02You got some silverware and some napkins
23:03that you all can enjoy.
23:04All right, thank you.
23:05That looks really good.
23:06I see that you got your nails done.
23:08I did.
23:09Where did you go?
23:10Who did them this time?
23:11I tried some new lady.
23:12I liked them.
23:13She did good.
23:14She did good.
23:15Did you do what I asked you to do?
23:16I did.
23:17It was kind of weird just collecting them,
23:20but I said, okay, I'm going to go for my bestie.
23:22But I brought them.
23:23You did?
23:24Yeah.
23:25Can I see?
23:26You're going to make me cry.
23:30Hey, hello.
23:31I'm just curious, like, what is it for?
23:39I do want to be honest with you.
23:41I'm eating nails.
23:43Toe nails, fingernails.
23:45So, before I put my nails on, you ask me to collect my nails for you to eat them?
23:54Yes.
23:58This isn't normal.
24:00It makes me feel really uncomfortable and creeped out that Janet wants to eat my toenails.
24:07Oh, it's a lot, girl.
24:09Yeah, I had to clip a lot of nails in.
24:12I like this one.
24:13Yeah.
24:20No way.
24:21Yes, what?
24:22No way.
24:24Janet.
24:27Kayla's face just said it all.
24:29She looked disgusted.
24:30She looked like she had a thousand of questions to ask me.
24:37Stop looking like this.
24:38No, you're out in public doing it, though.
24:40Okay.
24:42They don't know what I'm doing.
24:43Okay.
24:44And I'm eating.
24:48Let me get a bigger drink.
24:49Oh, my gosh.
24:57Girl, how was your food?
24:58Look at my chicken.
25:02Don't it look nice?
25:04No.
25:05No.
25:06So, you're not scared of catching any infection or bacteria?
25:10Because you know nails carry a lot of bacteria.
25:13Oh, my God.
25:14You sound like Nia.
25:15And you paid all that money for them beautiful veneers.
25:19I do have a chip.
25:21I got a chip right there.
25:22It did chip.
25:23When I was trying to bite my toenail one day.
25:25Oh, my gosh.
25:27Now, I'm going to just focus on it and see you as chipped.
25:30You already chipped one tooth.
25:32You're eating toenails and fingernails.
25:35You don't want to catch an infection.
25:38Or have something deeper that you don't know about.
25:41I haven't had any issues all these years.
25:44So, why now?
25:47The mouth is a very...
25:49It could be a dirty place.
25:50You have a beautiful smile.
25:52You already tripped over here.
25:54I want to make sure everything's okay.
25:56Your health-wise.
25:57I feel like you should really feel honored that I eat your nails.
26:03Because, honestly, I only do it with the people that I love, that you really love.
26:09I don't feel honored.
26:11I just want to make sure you...
26:12Why?
26:13I just want to make sure everything's healthy.
26:14But you should, because I love you.
26:16I love you, too.
26:17I want to make sure you're healthy.
26:18It's a coping mechanism thing for me.
26:21Do you understand that?
26:22You want me to be stressed?
26:23We can find another coping mechanism for you.
26:29After talking to Kayla and her pretty much giving me some good explanation,
26:33so that is something that I'll really take into consideration.
26:37I can't really promise myself if I'm going to stop right away, but I will try my best.
26:43I can't continue to give you my fingernails and toenails.
26:46No.
26:47Just one last batch.
26:49That was the last batch.
26:50No, that's going to be the last batch.
26:53No.
27:07Um, you want tomatoes?
27:10Okay.
27:11No, uh, no onion?
27:13No, sir.
27:14Okay.
27:15All right, so who's next?
27:17Two steaks.
27:18Two steaks?
27:19Okay, you got it.
27:20So Anthony is a really close friend of mine, and I work with him catering throughout Los Angeles.
27:23He doesn't know that I eat sponge.
27:25Where you going?
27:26Right here, to my car.
27:27All right.
27:28Can I get something out of my car, boss?
27:29Okay, go ahead.
27:30How are your business, man?
27:31How are your business, man?
27:39Tacos!
27:40Tacos!
27:41Cracking tacos!
27:42Yeah, what are you doing?
27:43Come on, man!
27:52At this point, I feel like I'm lying to my best friend, and I'm keeping something that's super important in my life and super, super disturbing to me.
28:05I need to tell Anthony about my addiction because, you know, maybe he'll be a shoulder that I can lean on.
28:18I'm hoping that our friendship is strong enough that he'll really be able to be that person.
28:22Here you go, bro.
28:23Sir, appreciate it.
28:24Welcome, welcome.
28:25Lemonade is one of my favorite drinks.
28:26Yeah, mine is too.
28:27Okay, well, um, if I told you something, well, I put it like, I just need you to listen.
28:38I just need you as a friend to listen to me and hear me.
28:41Man, we go back to Cadillac Four Flats, my guy.
28:44What's up?
28:45What's up?
28:46Yeah.
28:47People say that, but...
28:49So, I've got a little...
28:52I ain't gonna call it a little.
28:54I got an issue.
28:55It's a big issue in my life.
29:00You know what this is?
29:09I like the sun to hit not just my perineum, but my genitals and the anus.
29:14Have you ever had a sunburn down there?
29:16I've been sunburned, like, twice.
29:20Bro, what the back is?
29:24What is this?
29:25You clean with sponges.
29:26You don't eat them.
29:27You know?
29:28It don't make no sense.
29:29Like, is that disgusting to you?
29:30Yes.
29:31You know what this is?
29:32What is that?
29:33It's just sponge, right?
29:34Sponge?
29:35Sponge?
29:36Sponge?
29:37So, I eat sponge.
29:38And I've been eating sponge since I was a little kid, so...
29:40Get the out of here.
29:41Yeah, well...
29:42You lying.
29:43It's funny.
29:44You lying.
29:45Trying to tell you something, bro.
29:46You lying.
29:47You lying.
29:48You lying.
29:49Bro, what the fuck?
29:50Bro, what the fuck?
29:51Come on, man.
29:52Look at this.
29:53The fuck is this?
29:54You lying.
29:55This is not no sponge, bro.
29:56Don't touch it.
29:57Please don't...
29:58Don't touch it, because that's...
29:59It's a sanitary thing.
30:00Come on, bro.
30:01You said this is...
30:03You don't eat sponges.
30:04You clean with sponges.
30:05You wipe down countertops.
30:06You clean, you know?
30:07You clean with sponges.
30:08You don't eat them.
30:09You don't eat them.
30:10You know?
30:11It don't make no sense.
30:12come on bro you see this is you don't eat sponges you clean with sponges you wipe down countertops
30:21clean you know you clean with sponges you don't eat them you know it don't make no sense
30:25come on bro stop bro please not in front of me at least so is that is that's how you feel about it
30:32like is that disgusting to you yes sorry i knew it see i knew this was going to be the outcome
30:38man this is but i knew you i gotta support you and what you do but still bro like this is bad
30:46like what we gonna do about this
30:48we family bro i love you man so we're gonna we're gonna we're gonna take care we're gonna i'm gonna
30:57help you with this bro like that's what i'm talking about man i love you man come on man i always thought
31:02that he would shun me i always thought that he would uh look at me like i'm crazy and think i'm
31:08like some kind of a nut you know but really he does think those things but he's still there to support me
31:14he didn't turn his back on me i'm down to you know go look at maybe an addiction therapist
31:21or an addiction specialist i know that i can't stop doing it so maybe somebody that's professionally
31:27been trained to talk to people like me like attic yeah after speaking with anthony and really seeing
31:33the concern because i've never seen my friend look at me like with worry i would like some help to
31:39stop eating sponge damn sponges don't you want to try one hell no at least try it man at least smell it
31:49no but uh yeah but uh man you got a problem man we gonna jeez none of my stuff man give me my stuff man
31:58gary and i met at a music festival in oregon at a twerk workshop he saw me in a bunch of positions
32:21that i send my perennium in before we had even talked
32:24after laying here for just like 30 seconds it started to hit and i could just feel my energy
32:33and creativity coming back feel like my entire body is being charged up the warmth doesn't stop
32:39at my perennium it just fills my entire body i'm so happy i'm in the shade
32:44i like the sun to hit not just my perennium but my genitals and anus so i like to stretch in
33:02different ways to allow the sunlight to reach me
33:04i'm gonna go to the roof now she really enjoys to stay in her nakedness in her enjoyment of nature
33:23and sensory experiences after she suns so it often helps our sex life
33:29it is a worry i have that someone will see her and then she'll have an experience an interaction
33:57that is unwanted while she is sunning
34:00sometimes i'm worried about you you're pretty exposed when you sun are you ever worried about
34:06people seeing you yeah definitely there was the one time that somebody snapped a photo of me
34:13i didn't know that they were there but i heard their camera go off and it was like
34:17really scary for me but the best that i can do is choose a location that feels safe
34:23i don't exactly have an issue with how often you sun i just hope that you don't affect your
34:31lady parts have you ever had a sunburn down there
34:35i've actually only been sunburned like twice ever in my life and it was like on the top of my shoulders
34:44where i am most exposed to sunshine
34:47tara's exposure to the sun is a lot it's not only the perineum it's everything the anus and vagina
34:55so i hope that she is really really looking after it because it'll add up over time how much sun exposure happens
35:04i feel really healthy so i'm happy with what i'm doing
35:07absolutely
35:09i have to finish these though you don't yes i do i can't just waste it
35:24i think my mom has a 50 50 chance of quitting her toenail addiction
35:28i'm gonna cry
35:29i'm gonna throw up
35:30i've never been to therapy before i don't want to go but maybe i need to you ever had sponge have you
35:37ever even smelled it i want you to trust me and i want to trust you yes dude you try a piece
35:42after i talk to anthony i think that i'll probably go see like some kind of a health professional
36:00i've never been to therapy before i've never considered it i don't want to go but maybe i need
36:04to you know so i'm just doing it as another way to try to help myself stop this and beat this thing
36:11could you give me some sense of what's happening what's brought the two of us in here today
36:16well doc my i have an issue and i've had it since i was a child
36:20um okay and it's basically eating foam sponge
36:26and as much as i enjoy eating it you know it's it's ruining my life
36:34so you really do want to stop
36:36as much as i want to it's just i mean it's too appealing it's almost like
36:41somebody who smokes cigarettes
36:44can you describe this sensation it's the sensation that when it's going down down your esophagus yeah
36:53it just feels like it's amazing feeling and then you can taste the smell of it like almost like a new
36:59car almost you know how when you get a brand new car you get in it you just got that smell you're like
37:04oh i don't want this smell to ever go away yeah but it eventually does it eventually does but with
37:08sponge it's always there it's always there i can always have it so when i'm stressing or when i'm
37:15upset if i eat a little sponge it just like relaxes me
37:20so i'm curious to hear a little bit about how it all started i just remember that i would sleep with
37:26this stuffed animal the little teddy bear after a while i started wondering i wonder what's inside of
37:29it so i finally unzipped the back of the teddy bear yes and it was sponge my approach to working with
37:37ron is getting to the root of what caused that addiction and ways in which we could replace that
37:43with other healthy means so he saw the teddy bear as a form of strength something that was greater than
37:51him so it was so wowed that i just so happened to have a teddy bear in my office and ron just so
37:59happened to have that first experience which is called the primal scene with a teddy bear
38:05here
38:06where's the zipper there is no zipper hmm i just want to know if i could open up slice him open
38:18right i'll see if it's any sponge in there because i think the teddy bear
38:23it gave you this sense of ease at the end of the day at night and it felt as if maybe you were
38:31being abandoned in that moment you really had to take in what the teddy bear gave you
38:39what do you think bears eat what did you imagine bears ate when you watch television for example
38:47a car honey honey honey honey honey honey when he brought the bear out i was surprised i was like i
39:04don't know where this is really going and now it's honey i get it you want to find a replacement for
39:09the addiction honestly the honey is not exactly a replacement for me but it is something that i can try
39:19i'm going to try i'm going to try anything doc okay you ever had sponge have you ever even smelled it
39:26i pulled this out
39:28to one of my my family members and they were like they don't want to smell it
39:32can i can i hold it would you mind i don't mind okay
39:38i want you to trust me and i want to trust you yes would you try a piece because this is something
39:44that you're really afraid of you're afraid that others might not relate to your experience very much
39:51so that's why you went looking for the teddy bear
39:55it's a fresh like taste there's not nothing wrong with the taste right but just the flavor of it i just
40:05wanted someone to experience and i thank you for that doc because none of my family would do that for me
40:12i did not think he would do it and that was going to be my reason to say you know what i'm done i don't
40:18want to hear anymore because you can't help me and he surprised me and he took that sponge okay i'm
40:26here now you you're here with me it's not just me sitting here with you we're sitting here together now
40:32at this point you know what i'm gonna do man and i don't generally do this but i feel like this is the
40:37occasion where i should start i'm gonna leave that sponge there yeah it's hard to get sponge but i'm
40:44leaving it i'm so happy to hear that ron
41:07it's very important for me to stop eating toenails for my health and my teeth so
41:25i'm going to pray on it and try my hardest to stop so and i have something to share with you
41:33i am going to try my best to stop eating my toenails
41:41i think my mom has a 50 50 chance of quitting her toenail addiction if she really wants to
41:49i have to finish these though you don't yes i do i can't just waste it yes i can't waste them
41:55oh look at that i don't even want to eat this thing look at that oh my last bite
42:10i'm gonna cry i'm gonna throw up
