00:00It's an entertaining podcast. I'll give it that. Like, it really appeals to, like, the gossip in
00:06you. Like, ooh, what happened? Like, what are the theories? And it's just like, leave this poor man
00:11alone. But also, I want to know. Hi, Naturally Curly World. Welcome back to Watch & Go, the show
00:16where we watch things and review them while we do our watch and goes. Today, I'm actually going to
00:22be reviewing a podcast. So it's more of a listen and go. And a lot of you may have already heard
00:27of it. It's called Missing Richard Simmons. So before I get started reviewing, I'm going
00:31to tell you which products I'm going to be using on my hair today. I'm using Elucent's
00:36Moisture Benefits Shampoo, Two Girls with Curls Lavender and Grapefruit Conditioner. This is
00:42Virtue Labs' The Uplifted Volumizing Whip. This is DivaGirl's Light Defining Gel. I'm going
00:48to wash and condition, and then I'll be back to detangle and style.
00:52So while I detangle, I'm going to tell you more about Missing Richard Simmons. You can
01:00find it pretty much anywhere you can find podcasts. I listen to it on iTunes. It's narrated by this
01:05man named Dan Taberski. And he used to go to Richard Simmons' dance class. He has a studio
01:13in Hollywood named Slimmons, obviously, because what else would you name a Richard Simmons dance
01:19studio? One day, Richard Simmons just stopped coming to class, and he had, like, been religiously
01:25teaching classes there for years. So this guy, Dan Taberski, thinks it's his business to go
01:30find Richard Simmons. So basically what Dan does is he, like, finds as many people that
01:36were close to Richard Simmons as possible and asks them what happened to Richard Simmons.
01:42He's basically just trying to figure out, like, where Richard Simmons went. LAPD actually
01:45went to Richard Simmons' house on two separate occasions, went and talked to Richard Simmons,
01:50and were basically like, are you okay? And Richard Simmons was like, yeah, I'm fine. I just don't want
01:55to talk to anybody. If you've ever seen the podcast Serial, it reminds me a lot of that kind
02:00of narration. And so, like, the first episode or two are really interesting, but then, to me,
02:04it kind of devolves into, like, a complete invasion of Richard Simmons' privacy. The narrator
02:09keeps saying, like, oh, I'm just doing this because I really care about my friend,
02:13but I just, like, really kept feeling like if you really cared that much about your friend,
02:17why are you making a national podcast invading his privacy like this? Like, it's pretty clear
02:23by the end of the podcast that he doesn't want to be bothered. And it becomes really obvious,
02:29like, in the course of the podcast that Richard Simmons is probably really depressed and had
02:35been for a really long time. Okay, so now I'm going to section my hair and put this DevaCurl
02:42a light-defining gel in. A lot of you probably know Richard Simmons. He got really popular
02:48in, like, the 80s as a fitness instructor. He was popular in the same time as, like, uh,
02:54what's her name? Buns of Steel girl. He wears, like, the leotards and he's just, like, really
03:00over the top. He was kind of forgotten about. And then, um, you hear that, like, he's gone
03:06into hiding, almost. And it's really weird because you think of him as such an outgoing person.
03:12One of the craziest theories about his disappearance in the podcast is that he's, like,
03:17being held hostage by his housekeeper. And one person in the podcast actually, like,
03:23believes she's a witch and is, like, casting spells on him. And that's why he's acting like this.
03:29By the way, I'm using this uplifted volumizing lip from Virtue on my roots. The podcast is six
03:35episodes. So in the sixth episode, spoilers, but you don't hear from Richard Simmons. Like,
03:41nothing really happens. Dan doesn't get what he wants, which kind of, like, makes me happy
03:46because he didn't really deserve it anyways. Uh, as I said in my last watch and go, um, volume is a big
03:53struggle for me, especially with my roots, which is why I put this uplifting moose in my roots.
03:58And then I'm going to diffuse this time because, um, I find that the heat really helps encourage my
04:05waves. So, um, I just finished blow drying. I'm really liking how much, um, volume this gave my
04:17hair. I'm really liking this wash and go. So I would probably give this podcast a three out of five
04:22stars. Um, definitely appealed to, like, the nosy gossipy side of me, but, like, the moral
04:30upstanding side of me was, like, um, I don't know about this. It makes me uncomfortable in my heart.
04:37So three out of five. Have you guys listened to this podcast? It's really popular right now. If you
04:42have, um, tell me in the comments. I want to talk about it with you guys. Let me know if you guys have
04:47tried any of these products or if you're a wavy, what do you use? Um, come back next Wednesday for
04:52another watch and go. And make sure you like, share, and subscribe to our channel for more
04:56wash and goes and giveaways. Um, I'll see you in the next one. Bye.
