00:00Hey YouTube world, it's me Evelyn. You caught me on a bad day. I'm sick, but we are going to power through this as best as we can.
00:13I'm going to be doing a product review of the Dark and Lovely Au Naturale anti-breakage line.
00:18Full disclosure in various things like such as, as an employee of naturallycurly.com, I did work with Dark and Lovely on the launch of the Grow Out Diaries,
00:28which was this cool thing where we sent these products to nine women, didn't tell them who made the products,
00:35and just asked them to vlog about their personal results. Having said that, I have not been paid to sit here.
00:42Sorry, let me get a quick cop drop. Cop drop. All right. Let's get started. There's four products in the line.
00:52First product in the Dark and Lovely Au Naturale anti-breakage line is the Tension Release Hair Wash.
00:59I've been using all the products in this line for the past month or two, so I've used this maybe four to five times in that span of time.
01:10As you may or may not know, my hair is bleached. Some parts are more bleached than others.
01:15I don't know if you can tell in this light, but all of my hair is dark blue, and then the front section is bright like Superman blue.
01:23I do have cleansers that are still my faves. This has not like bumped my faves off the throne.
01:30The one thing that stands out about this product is that it made my hair stop bleeding.
01:35I've been experimenting with different colors of blue, and I've used several different types of blue,
01:40but more recently, I've used Manic Panic's Rockabilly Blue, and that blue, the chick at the Sally's Cash Register will tell you that it bleeds everywhere.
01:51It just bleeds forever, and no shampoo helps. No color-treated shampoo. No natural whatever. Nothing.
01:58I started using the shampoo. My color stopped falling off my hair.
02:03I don't know what is in this that makes it do that, but I'm glad it does it.
02:10Well, because I can stay blue for longer, it gets a four out of five. Yeah.
02:14Second product in the Darkin' Lovely O-Natural Anti-Breakage line is the Strength Restoring Conditioner.
02:21It is so thick. I could literally throw it at you, and it still wouldn't come out of the bottle.
02:28It is so thick.
02:31I usually use my hair therapy wrap, heat therapy wrap, whatever it's called.
02:36It's that thing that you microwave, and you put it on your hair, and your hair gets hot.
02:40Just glow it on your naps, and the tangles just melt away.
02:44When I rinse it out, my hair is so soft and melty, and I can detangle it.
02:50It has no silicones.
02:52I pretend to care about ingredients because I feel peer pressure from you guys.
02:58In all reality, I'm just like, if it works, then I'm here for it.
03:03A five out of five Acro Puffs because it's seriously bomb.
03:06Third product in this line is the Leave-In Conditioner, the Root to Tip Mender.
03:11Unlike the other two products, the shampoo and conditioner, which were both 13.5 fluid ounces,
03:18this is four fluid ounces, so it's significantly smaller.
03:21I have really fine hair.
03:23For the conditioner, I'm rinsing that out, right?
03:25So it can be heavy and thick and weigh my hair down so I can detangle it all.
03:29But when my hair, if I'm leaving a product in my hair, I need it to be light and slippery,
03:36and this is a little too thick for my hair.
03:40And that doesn't really lend itself to, for me, in my regimen, to layering products.
03:45Three out of five because it's neither here nor there.
03:50The last product of the four products in the Dark and Lovely Au Natural Anti-Breakage Line
03:56is the Super Softening Hair Butter.
03:58After the Strengthening Conditioner, the hair butter is my favorite product.
04:03It has coconut oil.
04:06It's a third ingredient.
04:08But it does contain dimethicone a little bit after that.
04:11If that is not to your liking, I'm just letting you know.
04:15In the video description box is a link to all the products and, like, the price and, like,
04:23the directions and, like, the ingredients.
04:26So, you know what I'm saying?
04:27Reading is fundamental.
04:28A lot of butters just, like, are kind of tacky or sticky, and this is really smooth.
04:35I can detangle with it if I needed to.
04:37In my mind, I'm like, this, this is a leave-in conditioner.
04:42Like, it feels amazing in my hair.
04:44Slip makes my hair soft.
04:46My hair is old, y'all.
04:47It is so rusty and dusty.
04:49But I just keep putting this on top because it makes it, it, like, brings it back to life.
04:55It might not look like it's back to life, and that's my fault for not styling my hair.
04:59But I'm letting you know how it feels, and it feels really soft.
05:04I give it a 4 out of 5 because a 5 out of 5 is reserved for, like, a shea butter whip from Ghana.
05:10Like, if it's literally a shea butter whip, if it's literally a hair butter, then you might could get a 5 out of 5.
05:18And, whew, I'm kind of exhausted, but I hope this is helpful to somebody out there.
05:25That being said, thanks for watching this video.
05:28Um, thank you, Dark and Lovely.
05:31And, oh my god, it's time for me to go take some more medicine.
05:37So I'll see you on the internet somewhere.
05:39Bye!
